Question I have... Any good Medifast recipes for Vegetarian's that have flavour?!? Hoping for any answer. Another quick question... Okay, I need to add more protien so I found a protien shake I like okay enough to drink. My question is, it has 30 grams of protien and only 1 gram of sugar and 140 cals so I think I hit a good one. but I have heard your body doesn't absorb that much protien so not to drink it all at once.

Does anyone know if this is true, and how much will the body use of that 30 grams? I have also been told that I should drink this only in the morning as it is too heavy for evenings? If I am only eating 600 to 800 cals a day do I need to worry about that?.

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I bump into an good answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..

The best and most qualified to answer this is your nutritionist. I was told that also. about being able to absorb so much at a time;including.

And vitamins which should be taken 3 to 4 hours apart. Maybe you could use half of protein shake save rest for later...

Sounds like you are doing well...60 grams a day is the bottom end of "normal" for us, when you build up to it over time. (80 or 90 is fine too, I'm told, by my nutritionist).

How much can the body absorb at a time? What I was told is there's two schools of thought on this. One....thinking you can only absorb 30 grams at a time. Others feel it's just going to take longer to absorb more...so ideally, it's believed to be best to spread it out over 5-6 meals, which works well for us..

We don't necessarily absorb all of what nutrients we take in, and we really don't know how much we do absorb, without various, regular blood work, checking vitamin (and other) levels. But over time, the professionals have determined the portion sizes (grams etc) you were likely informed about prior to.

I had not heard about a protein drink being too heavy for the evenings. I have enjoyed one for "dinner" many times in the year and a half since my.

, and have managed to drop 140#, with the nutritionist's blessing...still they each have their own ideas of the best way to approach things...so check in with your practice, for their best suggestions..

I think your body can only absorb 30 grams of protein at a sitting. At least that's what someone told me...

I have also read that 30 grams in one sitting is the most your body can absorb...

My nut said the body can't asorb more than 25g of protein in a sitting. Mind you, I still can't take in all that at once. lol..

Cin once I lost the first ton, I've stayed with the 20 gram versions of bars because it just seems to me that when you get into the 30 gram range they all taste like monkey ass (that's a Shelly line)!.

And I think anything in the 30+- range per meal is excessive for me anyway. FYI I have always stayed in the low side of my daily requirement simply because I think the STD american Medifast diet is overloaded with the shit, but what do I know. Besides I couldn't.

Lose hair if I tried..
