Got a question, hope someone can answer... Anyone ever used Medifast? Specifically the brand Hoodoba? If so, what results did you have? Thanks in advance for any answer or 2. My other question... Hi everyone,.

I have been thinking about what type of challenge to do that's A) fun, B) simple, and 3) festive...and I had this idea....

What if, for the month of Dec through 1/5/10 (the last day of Christmas) we did a 12 lbs of Christmas Challenge? No water or exercise or OP points, just weight loss. Now, this challenge may not appeal to all (like those who are in T&M), but for those looking to stay motivated through Christmas and New Years (and motivate that scale on DOWN), this might be just the challenge for you!.

This is going to be open to all Medifast Community Members. PM me with your name (or nickname) and your starting weight. Enrollment will be open until 12/5. On 12/6, I will post the final roster of participants. Each week, PM me your weigh-in (on whichever day you chose to weigh), and I will post the results each Friday..

Let's see how many pounds we can lose before Christmas is officially over!.

Please PM me if you have any questions. Thanks!..

This challenge sounds like a lot of fun! However, since I am a really slow loser (happy with a 2 pound loss on weigh in day!.

), I think 12 pounds in 1 month seems out of reach for me. I will everyone luck in this challenge and hopefully I can participate in a challenge with all of you soon!..

The race is off! We have an incredible.

26 participants.

In this challenge, and some of them have already e-mailed me their losses for the month. Here's the chart. If you see only blank space next to your name, that's because I haven't received your first weigh-in yet...so please PM that to me when you can! I will post an updated progress chart to this thread once a week, and of course am happy to offer recognition, encouragement, or a kick in the rear as appropriate via PM in response to your weigh-in..

Good Luck, everyone!..

One pound lost is better than one pound gained!.

The holidays can be stressful so make sure you are getting enough rest since lack of sleep can cause slow weight loss or even a weight gain...

Coming back home and back on Medifast after my Thanksgiving Cruise accounts for the big drop from me (that and the fact I'm a big gal so when I lose big, I tend to lose BIG). With 4 meals out scheduled between now and my next weigh-in, I'm not psyched about what next week will bring, but I'll work to be OP around those events and kick it again big time next week..

Thanks again, Kat, for organizing this fun challenge for us. Folks on the other discussion board in which I participate were intrigued... everyone thinks it is QUITE a daunting challenge. So here's to all of us for attempting it. I raise a Medifast shake to you all!.

Hey, Everybody! Count me in. What a fun challenge! Thanks, Kat! Just what I need to break this mental barrier to get down into the 170s. Arriving in Onederland was smooth sailing, but I'm finding it like climbing over a wall to get out of the 180s..

Well, looks like we're two weeks until Christmas, then 12 more days after that. Wow! How's everyone doing out there? A good OP day for me. No more hungries that have been plaguing me lately. That's a relief!.

School in the morning, so Happy Christmas to all, and to all a Good Night!..

Today is my normal weight-in day last week I had the displeasure of noting a three pound gain due to an event that place with me planning poorly for it. However I hit the plan harder and was rewarded with losing those three but with losing an additional two putting me at 210..

WhIle I did go off plan, I'm happy I went off plan sensibly... and while I didn't make the 12 pounds, I am well situated to continue back on plan firmly and don't have ground I have to make up. Thanks for pulling htis challenge together. My final weight for this challenge, as determined by today's weigh-in was 262.9...

Will there be a January Challenge? Kat - the 12 pounds was also highly motivating to me and I thank you (and others) for all of your support! WOO-HOO!!!! One day at a time - one meal at a time - helping others while we help ourselves..... Thanks Kat - (ps the baby in your picture is beyond adorable!)..

Hi Kat,.

Happy New Year, Sorry to say but temptation got the best of me over New Year's weekend, and I gave in to the cocktails.

So I am up 2 pounds but I'm in control now but sorry to say won't be down the 12 pounds I was hoping for. But on a better note, it is a new year and by this summer I will be at my goal.

And looking forward to the beach this year ..

Hi Katthanks so much for doing this fellow Marylander!.

My starting weight was 174.8..

My current weight is 166.7. (I haven't changed my signature yet since I am in the last week of another contest where weigh in is next Monday...).

I lost 8.1 pounds over the holidays..

It was one tempting little holiday season. December was tough!.

-Neighborhood party on the 4th.

-Girl friends over for dinner on the 9th.

-Friend's annual bash on the 12th (DH and I have gone for 21 years in a row now!).

-Dinner with friends at our house on the 19th.

-Big dinner and Yankee Christmas here for DH and my friends on the 20th.

-Christmas Eve early dinner with my family on the 24th. Party later at 8 that night..

-25th about did me in! Christmas brunch here for my kids and DH. Afternoon bash at MIL's. Christmas night dinner to meet DD#2's future in-laws..

-Dinner and party at DD#2 so her future in laws could meet extended family on the 26th.

DD#2's gift to us was .... a night at the dinner theater (see a food pattern here?).

Hotel get away and dinner with DH on the 29th (we have 7 kids and a night away was heaven!).

-New Year's with DH and youngest son in Annapolis for First Night and....dinner.

Out with friends (and dinner at brew pub ) on Jan 2 for Frederick's First Saturday..

So14 get togethers from Dec 4th until January 4th..

And 3 of my vendors sent.....cookies, a holiday tower of treats from Harry and David's, and yet more homemade cookies..

Then, DD#2's future MIL brought... yes, homemade cookies. All the way from KY!.

DH's sister sent....homemade cookies..

My admin made me... homemade cookies and a pumpkin spice load. And my girlfriend Evie sent a pecan pie from Georgia..

Oh my goodness. I was in food heck land. About everywhere I turned there was.... food and more food..

I had DH take many items to work. Since I have a home officewell, couldn't share there..

The contests are great to help all of us stay on track. Many, many thanks for coordinating this Kat..

Good success to all this new year!.

Just rememberthe average weight gain over the holidays is 5 to 7 pounds. Sowe all did great!..

Hi Everyone,.

Here is the final spreadsheet from the challenge!.

Remember what Jaynie said - statistically, most people gain 5-7 lbs during the holiday season, so everyone who maintained or lost this season has a reason to celebrate! For all those who might have gained, well, it's a new year..

For everyone, the main point is that we KEEP MOVING FORWARD. Keep sticking to the plan, keep making smart choices for our health (body & mind) and keep being good to ourselves!.

HUGE congratulations to Laura (Laurawall), who lost 14.6 lbs over the course of this challenge!.

Big congrats go to Angela (Ana4205) and Nicole (Nicole35) as well, both of whom were ounces away from the 12-lb mark..

Like I said, congrats to everyone who stuck to the program and managed a loss this holiday season. May you all see goal in 2010!.

Take care,.
