Surgery.

I almost had a heart attack. I had been told all along that my insurance company would pay half of this and it turns out it won't. I only have half so I have to wait until June to have.

Sorry to hear you are having all these problems but don't give up. Like Spidey said tell family instead of presents give money to help with the payment but most of all look out for your health right now. It won't do you any good at all if you have something serious happen before.

Does your insurance have in and out of network costs perhaps? I would call the insurance company and get to the bottom of it. I visited 3 bariatric centers before I chose Clarian...

Well, that's a bummer. But as everyone else has said here, you need to continue to put your health at the top of your priorities list. When you encounter an obstacle, push through it for find a way around it. I believe that your Higher Power will watch out for you and make this happen at the right time, with the right team. Explore your options for financing, as well as other programs. Find one that really works for you.

37 is young! It will all work out. Take care...

Your insurance actually pays. Maybe just a mix up. But I agree , you have to keep at it, and don' t let this stop you from making progress, keep up your weight loss efforts while you are straightening this all out. Then you will be even healthier WHEN you get your.

I would certainly talk to the insurance coordinator or even your surgeon about this matter. I had a $2500 deductible on my insurance and my surgeon's office was nice enough to bill me for it and let me make payments on it..

It is all about who you talk to and how. A surgeon who truly cares about his patients and understands that this can be life altering is certainly willing to work with them..

I have done that done too many times- -put myself on the back burner of things simply b/c financially I couldnt do it. It is a matter of prioritizing what is important to you and if there is a will there is a way. Do not get discouraged. The pre-op process is incredibly challenging and honestly tests a lot of limits including.

Patience.

Best Wishes...

This is just another twist in the journey. Take a deep breath and carry on. You deserve to live a healthy life and although $3000 is a lot of money, it is not a deal breaker. Other's have given some great ideas about how to deal with that part of it - explore your options and don't let your fear prevent you from achieving your ultimate objective - your health & well being. Heck, put that unexpected $1500 on a medical credit card if need be..

As for having babies... A reality check; diabetic women & their babies (especially insulin dependent) have very complicated, high-risk pregnancies/births and are at much higher for many pregnancy & birth related complications. (prematurity, shoulder dystocia, intrauterine growth retardation, pre-eclampsia, fetal death, etc) Morbid obesity compounds these risks. Having WLS.

Surgery.

Will greatly increase your fertility and give you the best possible chance for having a healthy pregnancy, birth, and baby. I hear your fear and anxiety, and I know how powerful those feelings can be. Be gentle with yourself, quiet the yammering in your head, and be really honest about what you want/need. Choose from that place versus your terror. {{{HUGS}}} and prayers...

My co pay is 1200... Its been 2 months and still havent gotten the bill, on top of the fact most places will let you do payments. I'd get ahold of your insurance... You might not have to put it off that far..

Good Luck with whatever swings your way, and dont give up!..
