Got a question, hope someone can answer... Anyone tried the Medifast Diet, stuck with it, and it worked for you? Looking forward for any answer or 2. Another question... Flirts.

,.

I am constantly pleased by the enthusiasm shown by new students at the beginning of a school year. They are eagar to learn, ready to please, and able to soak up so much in a short period of time! Let's take a little of that philosophy and get back to the basics we all know and understand..

1. 5 Medifast Meals a day, each with at least ONE full glass of water (10-16 oz. works best).

2. 1 Lean and Green Meal consisting of one serving of a lean meat and 3 servings of a veg..

3. Only approved Medifast snacks folks! Sugar free jello, okay. Dill pickles are a tried and true one for this group as well (right,.

Lia.

?).

4. Drink half your weight in ounces of water. It really does work! When you slow down on the water, your liver doesn't process the fat as well as it should (or so I have read) because it is having to do part of the kidney's job....DRINK the WATER! lol.

5. Exercise! 30 to 45 minutes each and every day. Make it on purpose and not something you just do....though just doing (taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking away from the door for a little walk....) can also help..

Here we go, Flirtsback to the basics of Medifast for a Successful September and a Slimmer US!..

That only seems to make the background in the box the same color as the background on the page. I am still left with the black line around the table. Is there another stylesheet directive that I can add to remove that black lines. If you go to my site, insanevideos.com, look around all of the options on the left and right, they all have thin blackline boxes around them...

Good morning Flirts!.

Happy September everyone! Fall is almost upon us - one of my favorite times of year. Pumpkins are ripening in the fields, and leaves are starting to turn. One thing I miss about living in a more northern climate is the Autumn there - just walking down the street and getting caught up in a leaf storm of red, yellow, and orange leaves. So gorgeous! Here we do not have such spectacular Falls, but sometimes you can find a few trees turning yellow and orange - still makes me happy..

And Fall is perfect for me this year as I am in the Autumn of my weight loss. Almost at the end of my journey. I can see the finish line clearly now and it is just a matter of persistence. If you would have told me 7 months ago that by the time September got here I would only be 28 pounds from a healthy weight and 41 pounds from goal, it would have seemed like an impossible idea. But here I am. Now is the toughest time and when I must be the most focused.

In tandem with this, boredom with the food and being on plan has set in. Add to this my SAD begins to flare up due to the lack of sunlight, and I am more prone to bouts of depression. I have my challenges ahead of me the next 4 months, especially through Winter, but I know I can do it. When spring comes, like the leaves and flowers, I will emerge as something beautifully transformed..

UKB:.

Awesome start to the new month! Thanks for posting the OYP tips. Reminders are always good to have. And I like the school analogy - very applicable to this weight loss journey. No matter how you did the year before, the beginning of school always reminds me of a fresh start. New supplies, books, friends, and things to learn - a chance to start fresh and excel. This is the same as our weight loss journeys - a new chance to get on the path to success.

Sony:.

Just saying hello! How are things at home and with work? Glad to hear you are going to try new L&G meals. I tell you, it is working well for me to help keep the boredom at bay. Hope it works for you too!.

Kiyomi San.

: I hope to hear from you soon! I am worried about you since you posted about the typhoon and haven't heard anything since. Are you ok? If you need anything, please let me know and I will be happy to help. Hope the training is going well too!.

Teresa:.

Time for a fresh new start! You are such a strong and vibrant woman - I know you can do this! Hope everything is well in your world, and that you are managing to balance your life in a way that is positive and healthy. Just keep going my friend, or start over anew - you are awesome, brilliant, and fabulous. Don't ever forget this!.

Elaine:.

Shouting out to say hello! Hope everything is settling down for you with regards to the DGS and you are continuing to be successful on your plan. You can do this and are so worth it! Take care of yourself ok?.

Lia and Mary.

: Hope to see you fabulous ladies around soon! Be good to yourselves, and if you ever need anything, let me know!.

And it is PERFECT for me to have those back to basics reminders, UK! Thanks for doing that. I love it. It really is as simple as that. Not easy but a long shot, but simple..

I'm feeling optimistic today. I worked out and ate well..

Hinata, thanks so much for the support. It really does cheer me..

Sony, your other group sounds good too. Those are great ideas. I think UK made a great start. We do need to keep reminding each other and making it possible to take this long journey..

I hope your kids are doing well too!.

Today for some reason i'm just feeling exceptionally hungry, huff.....sooo frustrating, I don't want to blow up like on the first day of the month, I was simultaneously on conference calls, had an argument with this co-worker on the phone which apparently was never-ending, he wants me to try some changes to something that i've already coded and ready to go and now he wants me to try it the other way and see.... what the heck??? My Boss is OKAY with it and it's running successfully and why the heck this guy has even to do with this??? At one moment I even felt like telling him thats it's none of his business & he can shove it off....but again he is my friend....Anyway seems to me that I have to be more on the tougher side with some people, guess it's my nature and friendliness that some people take the liberty to poke in between......OKAY ahaa that feels much much better after venting it out!!!.

Teresa.

, yes indeed,.

UK.

Has done a great job by posting all thoese Back to Basics reminders, they sound sooo simple but yet they r of utmost inportance for us in this Medifast journey, Thanks UK!!!.

Hinata.

, today first thing in the morning as soon as I dropped kiddos at school, came back home and went straight down to my basement and did HIIT training on my treadmill for 40 minutes, 2.5 miles, for me thats a great achievement, like 16 mins/mile thats like lot more for my standards, so second day in a row i'm keeping my fingers crossed! I did that high intensity workout like in 7 intervals in the first half hr and the rest I did light jogging, feeling much better thru out the day, that workouts seems to be burning calories even several hrs later.......

I haven't been able to meet with my trainer, but I'm going out to jog today (as far as I can) while the weather is still nice. We are in a storm watch still, because of the wind the typhoon has seemed to leave behind..

I'll do individual shout outs later on...its my day off...and work just called, again...

Good morning Flirts!.

Just stopping in to say hello before I hit the gym! My friend cannot make it this morning - poor man, is dead tired from his board exams! Happy to have him sleep in - he needs his rest. I will press on with my routine, and we will meet on Saturday..

I also had the most amazing NSV - I fit into a pair of size 16 Diva skinny jeans from Old Navy. Not the best fit granted, but they fit and I could zip them up and button them. When I bought them two weeks ago, I couldn't get them up past my thighs. Now they fit! I ran to Walmart to buy two more pairs of jeans in size 16 to make sure this wasn't a one-off. They also fit! Snug perhaps, but they fit! For the first time since I was 7, I can shop in a "regular" store. Size 14, here I come! That feels amazing! Thank you beautiful gym friend for literally whipping my fat butt into shape!.

Teresa.

: Glad you are feeling well and worked out! Awesome job.

Hope the website is going well, and the little one is doing great too ^^.

Sony.

: Ugh, sorry you have a jerky co-worker who butts into things. Some people will walk all over kindness, and sometimes we have to be tough and resist that pressure. Don't let the frustration lead you to making bad eating choices - like I said to UKB, we have a punching bag at work for such things. Maybe you need one too! XD I also go for a 5 minute walk around the block to blow off steam if something at work has me crazy. It helps to relieve stress and avoid comforting myself with food. You are doing great - just keep going!.

And congrats on the workout! Well done! Indeed, exercise keeps the metabolism ramped for 12 hours after you do it. This is why I workout in the morning, and when I get home from work - to keep the metabolism ramped at all times. Besides, it is now a very relaxing things for me to do, and also helps rid work stress..

Kiyomi San.

: So glad to hear you are doing fine - thanks for touching base! Was worried about you and that pesky typhoon! Congrats on continuing to jog and be active - well done!.

UKB.

: How is school going? Hope everything is up and running, and that the drama with the co-workers is at a minimum. I am sure you are doing brilliantly ^^.

Have a great OYP day everyone!.

Good morning, Flirts,.

Tonight is Open House..

This morning finds me in the kitchen baking banana nut muffins with sweet cinnamon butter for topping. Not for me, of course, but for my birthday kiddoes tomorrow! Remember how I would bake cupcakes every other month last school year? This year, we have decided to try and go "healthy" so are doing spinach brownies, zuchini and banana breadstuff like that. Rather than try and do it in the morning after such a long day, I thought I would get started on my baking today. Whew!.

I have seven minutes before I put in the next batch. I do 18 muffins at a time...

Good morning Flirts!.

Happy Saturday! Hope you all are going to have a fantastic weekend - make sure to rest, relax, and remain on your plans! For those of you here, it is a long weekend, so enjoy the extra day.

This morning I am meeting my gym friend for our weekly workout/training. He had to cancel on Thursday - needed his sleep. poor man! He is having one of his rounds of board exams, so studying like a demon these days. I am sure he will do brilliantly of course..

You know what I found amazing? I went to see him at the clinic for my adjustment yesterday, and he was feeling the muscles in my upper back, and after a minute, he asked me what was bothering me, and did I want to talk about it. It is true - I was stressed over a big decision I had to make at work and didn't sleep so well the night before. The fact he could identify this from the tension in my muscles was eerily amazing lol. Anyway, he was sweet - he had a hot blanket for my back to destress my muscles, then adjusted me, and gave me an upper back massage. By the time I left, I was all melty and relaxed! I cannot think of the last time in my life that I have been cared for with such attention. It is a nice feeling..

UKB:.

How did the baking go? Wow, you are a braver woman than me to tackle baking. I have had to avoid baking like the plague because I think it would derail me. Awesome job finding healthier alternatives for the treats - well done.

Kiyomi San, Teresa, Elaine, Mary, Sony.

- Hope you ladies are all well, and having a successful week. Look forward to hearing from you all soon.

Hello Flirts,.

I could use some cheering up - I have been a bit mopey all day. I found out this morning that my gym friend will be moving in March. He is off to pursue his dreams, and is relocating to Hawaii to open a practice. I am thrilled he is following his bliss, and I completely support him in this. Still, I feel sad - I will miss him.

So.

Much. He has become my safe place; a man I actually trust and, as friend, love. There is a piece of my heart in the shape of him, and only he can fit or fill it..

I know we will keep in touch - he was all on about calling and emailing, and told me I now have a better reason to go to Hawaii. Still, I feel like I will be lost without his presence and direct support and guidance. I am going to try and make the best of the time we have left together, and really work extra hard to learn all I can from him. I feel like it is just not enough time - but I guess we all feel this way when certain relationships change don't we?.

Not sure how my training will progress after that, but no point worrying about that now. For now, I just want to soak in all the great times we have left. I want to become as brilliant as possible before he goes. It is time for this little bird to finally fly....

Hinata,.

Even though time passes so quickly, March is a ways away. You'll be at your goal and in amazing shape. Of course, you'll miss him terribly, but I think your life may have lots of other distractions and joys in it by then too..

I'm so sorry he's moving. But, so glad you made this connection. It's really important to have that experience in your body, cells, memory... especially if you haven't had many men you felt so safe with. He's helped you create the circuitry to attract more of the same. It's brilliant..

Are there any mountains to climb in Hawaii?.

Hello UK, Sony, Kat!.

Kat, how's the weather?.

I'm having a busy and lovely day. And I have my mother in law here for a sleep over, so I get the night and morning off. Woo Hoo!!.

My bad news is that my elliptical is busted and it will be at least 2 weeks while they look for the parts. But, I'm undaunted. I'm going to go to the gym every morning next week. And my husband is going to help me start some weight training. All in all, it might be a good way to mix it up and create some new energy and momentum. Plus, if they can't find the parts, we get a new elliptical from our Sears protection plan.

Take care, my friends..

Good Afternoon Flirts!.

I won't go into details about my digressions, just know that there were digressions...and today I was almost in tears. Today is yet another NEW DAY, I can't believe that I let myself slip so much. Seemed like one bad decision led to another...and there went my whole day!.

I survived the weather, right now it's raining (a lot), and my car looks nice and shiny...natures car wash these typhoons..

What made me get back on track today, was my husband poking my collar bone. Its barely visible, but he managed to find it, and found it kind of fascinating. And, I felt where my hip bone is (its not obvious yet, but I could still find it), and I thought about what it would be like if I had that flatter lower middle section....that would be awesome. I wouldn't have to hide in clothes so much. Currently, I make sure that my shirts are long enough to go over the zipper portion of my jeans and slacks, to cover that area specifically..

Another thing that got me going was this article that someone put up, not sure if you all have read it, but I have read it several times now:.

Haven't seen the trainer, she hasn't met up with me, even though we had a day set. Isn't answering her phone calls...I paid in advance...I'm worried first about her safety and what part of the island she is from (because of the weather)...I'm worried second that I may have been scammed in a very small way. She seems so nice and considerate, who would go out of their way to train, then just take the remainder? I don't think this is the case, but it's something to think about..

UK: I LOVE BAKING! Its one hobby that I miss dearly, but I know that I can't do it because I would love to eat everything that I made. Banana Bread is a big big weakness for me, next to pumpkin pie. Lol..

Hinata-San: I'm sorry that your gym friend is leaving...but it really isn't that soon. I do agree that now you have a really good reason to move to Hawaii! Then you can rock the beaches there in your bikini, and it's easier to fly to Japan from there....

Teresa: It seems that the protection plan is working for you! I wouldn't normally buy those plans, but now seeing how your eliptical breaks on you, I would have to consider that. I would hope that you could just get a new one quickly, instead of waiting for parts that would just break again..

Everyone else, lets do this, I love the support that I get here...I'm working on eating to live...

Teresa, thanks so much for your powerful and wise words. That was exactly what I needed to hear!.

It is true that I don't have many good memories or experiences with men (generally speaking). I know that part of my weight issues stem not only from general torment and abuse for being fat (e.g. boys beating me up in school and calling me fat, grown men removing items from my grocery cart because "fat chicks don't need that" then laughing, etc.) but from a very traumatic rape incident which almost killed me physically, and did kill me emotionally. It took me many years to rebound from that, but I still have deep trust issues. This is the first man I have been able to completely trust - openly, deeply, and without fear or trepidation..

I don't regret one single moment of meeting this man and I wish he could only know how much more than weight training he has given me. He has opened something in my soul I didn't think anyone ever could. This is why his impending departure affects me so profoundly. Before him, I didn't even let men touch me really - now I have one adjusting my spine! I'll just miss him more than words could ever express and am getting my mourning out of the way now so that I can face forward and continue on my mission to good health and make the most of our time together..

Thanks for the kind words Kiyomi San! I know it is a ways off, but I need to emotionally prepare myself now; to grieve for a day or two, then suck it up, and press on. And you are so right - I can totally stop by Hawaii on my way to Japan. At the end of the day, it is Fuji that has my heart, and nothing will stop me!.

Congrats on getting back on track, and for finding your collar bones! It is the little things like that which keep me most focused. Isn't it amazing to watch as your shape comes out of hiding? As for your trainer, I hope she comes back and that nothing terrible has happened to her. Eep! You just keep pressing on in your fabulous way - you are doing great!.

Hi Everyone!!.

A note about my life.... tonight my "baby" is sleeping in her own bed. She's 3 and a few months, but we've had a family bed since she was born. We've followed the "attachment parenting" philosphy. She's just ready and mommy couldn't hold her back although I'm not quite sure.

I.

Was ready. I.

Am.

Ready to actually get to snuggle with my husband again, but I'm curious to see how I'll sleep with her in another room. It's a very happy time for us... very emotional too..

Hinata, that is quite a lot you've lived through. Miraculous that you survived as well as you did.. And so, your friend really is an angel who has healed you on so many levels. I believe that you struggled through a lot to get to the point where you could let him in in the first place. I'm certain that the universe has many more gifts waiting for you. It's good that you have time to come to terms with the loss and feel secure in the connection you have with him.

Kat, I didn't want to say anything... but I couldn't imagine being cooped up in that kind of weather and staying on such a strict diet. You're doing great to be getting focused again already. I really hope that trainer turns up soon!.

Yes on the protection plans for some things. Our service guy actually made it so many parts that he doesn't think they will be able to find them all. He did it just so that they'll have to give us a new one. He's tired of trying to fix that thing, I think..

Hi UK!!!! How are you?.

Hi Sony, Are you having a great holiday weekend with your beautiful family?.

Good morning Flirts!.

Day 2 of the 20 week strength training marathon is down. Wow, I am sore but happy. Managed to lift more weight this week (up t0 17 pounds per arm) on the rows, and can now do 10 half-push ups in a row before I collapse! My goal is to be able to do full-push ups before my friend leaves. I have never been able to do a push-up before in my life, so this is challenging me, but so worth it! I will finish up the day with cardio..

On another note, I just realized that my camping date is coming up soon! Eep! My friend arrives on the 29th - how exciting and somewhat scary for me. I am not sure what to expect, but we shall see. Given some of my history, this is a huge emotional risk for me, but I am trying to embrace all aspects of life now and in order to get better, I have to push past the unrealistic fears and move forward..

Teresa:.

So glad to hear that you are having a wonderful and profound time with your daughter's growth! I can only image that her leaving the family bed is at once beautiful and frightening. Hang in there mom - you have given your little bird the wings she needs to soar. And hey, you are just down the hall if she needs you, or you need her. Well done! Plus you get to snuggle with your husband now - yay!.

And you are right about my friend- angels never really leave us. And he is an angel, truly. In fact, I never believed in angels until I met this man. But now, I think maybe they can and do exist. Maybe not as winged creatures that fall from the sky, lol, but in the grace, goodness, and love of other people. I know in some way he is a soulmate of mine, as odd as that may sound, and that I have a deep and genuine love for him.

He is in my system now - in my blood and bones, every muscle and cell. Nobody can take that from me..

Kiyomi San:.

Just wanted to say hello my friend! Hope you are doing well. As Teresa says, you are a brave woman trying to battle food demons while avoiding a typhoon. I admire your bravery! Keep going and be safe. If you need anything, let me know!.

UKB:.

Soooooooooo glad to see you again, and that you are not baking! XD No worries, you can get back on your plan and back on track no problem! As always, if you need anything, let me know! By the way, did you ever get a new food scale? Did you want me to try and find one to send you?.

Dear.

Flirts.

,.

Today has been a busy day. I am working on essays and my own state of mind. lol I should be meeting my student teacher tomorrow. I thought it would be today, but I guess they were busy getting base passes and the like today. This will be my first time with a student teacher young enough to be my daughter..

I guess I will see how it goes..

Hinata.

, no, I have not found a new food scale. This is probably part of the problem. The other is just not finding alternatives to eating when I am upset by anything. I also need to spend more time here with my friends as keeping my hands busy on the keyboard stops me from putting things in my mouth! LOL I had one from Medifast that worked really wellbut after seven months of constant use it just died on me. sigh..

Here I am thinking about food. I don't even have the excuse of television commercials, just not having something else to do. I could be working on those essays, but am stumped. I should be exercising, but choose not to do that in the evening. Mostly I am just tired after a full day of teaching. Tomorrow is another day.

Have a good rest of the day!..

Hi everyone, sorry I was MIA since last friday, we had planned up to getaway for the long weekend all of a sudden and left home early friday morning and got back home just late last night, 4 day trip, we went to The Great Sand Dunes, it was just breathtaking and wonderful, then we went to the mountains, boat rides on the lakes, hiking, fishing, etc., all sorts of adventures, I walked over a zillion miles walking in the Sand dunes & hiking on top of 14,000ft plus mountain elevations, at one point I even got sick and nauseous cuz of the thin air at such high elevation....overall it was great spending time with my family.....i'm still figuring out as to how to get all things back to normal, i'll be back later ladies hope you all had fun while I was gone. Love.....

Good evening,.

Flirts.

!.

Just looking through the site for inspiration..

Still working on that goal of remaining OP. lol.

I met my student teacher today. Her tummy was growling!.

She has still not turned her clock around and is struggling with getting her system on our time. I am looking forward to her ideas for the classroom and hope she will be an asset to my courses. It should be fun! I think I will stock up on some healthy snacks for herand hope I can stay away from them myself..

My DH and I have heard that there has been severe rain and/or flooding in Texas due to a tropical storm. It was headed north up I35....and our sons and home is along the way..

Hmmmm.....haven't heard any bad news from them so I hope all is well. Anybody else wet out there?.

Kat.

, how are you doing in Japan?.

I went with eggbeaters and a salad for my lean and green today. I feel pleasantly full, and have two Medifast meals to go..

I think a hot tea will be in order soon..

Take care,.

Good morning Flirts!.

Just back from meeting my gym friend for training. We spent a lot of the time talking, but still managed to get in good fitness. He checked my form and ability - everything is going along great! I am up to 17.5 pounds per arm on my lifts and resistance weights. I feel so accomplished! He is starting me on balance and lower chest exercises this week - always adding more to my fitness pile, but I love it..

We talked a bit about him leaving - and it was a good talk. Besides, I now have another friendly fitness date for 2 years from now. He invited me to come to Hawaii and climb Mt. Mauna Kea with him and I promised I would show up. I am *so* up for the challenge - bring it on! He also wanted me to know that as of today, I am now fit enough to climb Fuji whenever I am ready..

What an AWESOME NSV!.

You know my heart is on the top of that mountain. And how novel - going from obese person to a mountain climber. Who would have thought it possible?.

Sony:.

Nice to hear from you - sounds like an amazing long weekend! So glad you had a fantastic time! Things will return to normal for you soon, so no worries. Keep up the great work.

UKB:.

Well done! Glad you are getting back into the swing of things. Also glad things are going well with the student teacher. How rewarding that must be for you! Keep up the amazing job ^^.

Teresa:.

Glad you checked in - always happy to see you! How is the web page coming along? Hope everything is well in your world. I posted in your 4 & 2 thread - is it ok if I join that group as well? Just trying to do new things!.

Have a great day on your plans Flirts - keep up the excellence!.

I have very good news... I get to go get a whole new elliptical machine!! Woo Hoo!!.

Yeah, Sears. Finally, they're not ******* me off..

We get a $700 credit and I swear, I didn't even pay that much for it in 2004..

Yippee..

Hinata, I'm so excited to hear you're ready for your mountain!! I remember the first time I saw you here and saw your wish. Now you're ready for it. You are an absolute, complete inspiration. I love the date for Hawaii too. It's perfect..

I started putting a couple of quotes on the Rita's Rainbows site and it works really well. Luckily, I don't have to change them every day! Thanks for your help and inspiration there too. It's a nice touch. I'm putting a seperate one on the thank you page for when people donate..

If anyone wants to check it out... it's.

I can't remember how much I told you guys. It's the non-profit my sister started after her daughter (my neice) died in a car accident. They're doing so much already to help children. I'm really proud of her. And I was so happy to finally have something I could do to make her happy. I still have lots of work to do..

I'm feeling sort of fearful today. I haven't even tried to "diet" lately. I was just exhausted from the constant failure. Maybe it's a good thing to take a break and come to it refreshed. I"m going back onto 4 and 2. And I'll be on that thread more too, Hinata.

I need the focus. I also updated my other blog and made it all pink and pretty. It makes me want to diet. Weird, but true..

Sorry this is such a "me, me me" post..

Hi UK! hugs to you. How are you?.

Sony, Kat.... I'm thinking of you and hoping all is well..

Have a great day everyone,.

Good Morning Flirts, TGIF...I have some good news I want to share with you all, i've given a 2 week notice to my Boss and i'm quitting from my WFH job....YES it took me a few guts to come to that decision and couldn't have done it without DH's push, he was the one who initiated at the first place....it was overwhelming to handle a workfromhome job (which initially started as a part time & eventually demanded a FT requirement) & kids & life etc., so I have decided to take a year break until my lil one goes to Kindergarten next yr.....

Hinata.

, i'm so sorry to hear that your Gym friend is moving but glad that you all r still keeping in touch....congrats on the NSV, you must be on the 7th heaven right now, LOL....

UK.

, I am soo proud of you in being so honest & genuine daring to put your ticker with your actual weight, kudos to you my friend...life is not always easy and we have to accept whatever it throws back at us, good or bad....

Teresa,.

So happy for u, glad that they acknowledged and r giving a credit. What kind of elliptical r you plannig on buying? Very soon I too am plannig on buying one...Hope all is well at your end....

Kat, how is it going on your side of the world?.

Ok ladies more later, have a great weekend...

Good morning,.

Flirts.

,.

Thank you for the compliment,.

Sony.

, but I don't feel brave. I just know that there are individuals out there who struggle just as I am with slipping. I don't want them to feel like they are alone in this. We are all always going to be tempted by food at one level or another. Last night I was tested again, and failed. Sigh.

My scale slapped me in the face this morning with the bad news and I shall continue to try and stay OP..

On another thread, someone commented that we are our own worst critics. I would have to agree....but worse than that is after castigating yourself, finding / letting someone ELSE make a comment to bring you even further down. I know he won't do it on purpose, but I am praying today is not one of those biting humor days for my DH. Love him dearly, really I do, however I do NOT need to be reminded I failed to stay OP last night. HEAVY sigh..

New day. Working harder at it!.

Mary.

? How are you doing? haven't heard from you. How is the new hairstyle? Did you get the job?.

Elaine.

? What about you? How are you doing? Have you found the new thread? Are you still with us?.

Teresa.

, good news is always welcome..

Sears has a great warranty plan. I know my Mom keeps up with hers on her washer and dryer and they have lasted over fifteen years. The repairman has been there a few times, but they are still going strong! Your elliptical news is excellent. I hope you are up and "running" again soon..

The Slim Gems in the Clubhouse have a member in CA who often travels to Hawaii. The pictures she has posted on her FB account are BE-you-tee-full LOL.

Hinata.

, I envy you the gumption, determination, and gym friend. In that order. LOL Your NSV is MAH-ve-lous DAH-ling..

Where can I order up some of that for myself? I will settle for the first two items in HUGE quantities. *snicker*.

I am sitting in the dark. Good grief. Our daylight hours have started dwindling down to few.....and the rain isn't helping. I don't know if the boys will do well at the football scrimmage scheduled for today. This type of weather is not always the greatest when it comes to injuries and it is the first time many of them will have played TACKLE football..

DH and I already have tickets to two of their away games. I try to follow my "boys" as long as I can...even to posting on facebook when they let me know how they are doing..

Flirts.

, the weekend is here. I hope yours is an OP one. Ciao!..

Good morning Flirts!.

Happy Saturday! Just about to head out to the gym for the morning training, but I wanted to stop in and say hello before I did. I am feeling really bloated today - blah! Not sure why but the system is a bit backed up - hope this passes soon (literally! XD). Other than this, I am having a house cleaning weekend. Nothing major or dramatic or fun, but I am sure that it will be well worth it at the end of the day. Lemony fresh living space- yay! Besides, I need to declutter my home. Amazing how much junk we accumulate without even realizing it, isn't it? I have a lot of clothes and books to donate to charity and the library, and some things that just need to be chucked out.

Hope everyone has a great OYP weekend!.

Teresa:.

Thanks as always for the motivating words! I am glad that my struggles can help others - it feels so much more worth it when I can share something, good or bad, to which others can relate. Makes me feel less alone in the process, and hopefully makes other people feel less alone too. One thing that has been different for me this time has been sharing my process openly. Prior attempts to lose weight, I was very closed and private - I didn't talk about it. This time, I am putting it all out there and in doing so, I have found it much easier..

Love the website too - well done! I will have to donate to the cause since it is, indeed, a good cause. I am thrilled for you that you have found a way to honor your niece and support your sister - how very rewarding! As always, if you need any design help, just poke me!.

Sony:.

Nice to see you around! It takes a lot of guts to know what is best for you, and to walk away from a job that is overdemanding. Good for you! Sounds like unreasonable expectations were being made of you, and that it turned into something you didn't bargain for. Know you have my complete and total support in your decision. You just focus on the million things you have already going on, your health included. You can always get another job later when the time is right.

UKB:.

You keep going girl! You know that you can totally do this! I do think that we are our own worse critics as you say, but when people who loves us undermine us by snide comments or off-color jokes, it only exasperates the situation..

If it is any consolation, I work with some great people, but they are always making bad jokes or playing diet-sabotaging pranks for "fun" - my boss included! One time they went on a business trip and my boss emailed me a video of them eating a huge, triple-sized ice cream sundae and were all going "Mmmm - this is divine and tastes so good! We just want you to know we are eating this delicious thing for you! See how good it is?" Another time, they left a bowl full of pastries on my desk - just sitting there waiting to be eaten. Or they will sit at lunch and deliberately eat food I cannot have and go "You want some? It is sooooooooooo delicious!" This is a weekly occurance, and has been since I started the diet..

What really helps me when someone is undermining me, either deliberately or unintentionally, is mentally reciting two simple words like a mantra. Those two words are: F**k You. Whenever they leave food on my desk, I throw it out and think "F**K you." When they send me videos of eating sundaes, cakes, pies, ice cream, etc. I delete the video and think "F**K you." Now, I realize this is not the most eloquent of phrases, but damned if it doesn't work LOL. The more I tell them off in my mind, the stronger I become. Anyone tries to undermine me, then he/she, regardless of my feelings toward them, deserves a big mental "F**k you".

It may seem uncouth, but try it some time. It is a very powerful mantra and shifts the mental thinking from berating oneself to where it belongs - berating the sabotagers! If such harsh language doesn't work for you, then find your own phrase that will do the trick equally. Constantly remind yourself, especially during moments of sabotage, that they are undermining you and that you will NOT be derailed. Do not let it get to you - mentally ward it off before you start to dwell on it. This builds determination! Just sharing what works for me ^^.

Quote of the Day:.

"You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you..

Good morning Flirts!.

Day 2 of the marathon house cleaning is underway after this morning's workout. I like to scrub down everything and dejunk my place twice a year - always makes me feel better afterward, though I hate the process lol. Again, I am amazed at how much I have managed to accumulate since Spring. I know I buy too much junk without thinking. I am going to work on restraining myself when it comes to impulse spending - I think I have bad habits which, if corrected, could save me a lot of money. I pick up little things here and there, but don't really need them.

Fuji and Japan, as well as some new gym gear, so I need all the savings I can get..

Hope you are all well, and having a relaxing and OYP weekend!.

It keeps getting earlier and earlier, too. My body just wakes up and I can't turn off the brain to go back to sleep. Then I have weekends like this one where all I do is sleep!.

Sony?.

I hope you are doing well this weekend. Any flak from the job situation? I am glad you have such a supportive DH!.

Teresa.

, the good wishes go for you as well. When does the new equipment arrive? I have never really enjoyed using an elliptical machineonly tried it once or twice. I really like using my treadmill. This is my second. I did like my AirStrider when I had one, but it bit the dust a decade or so ago..

Good morning Flirts!.

Ahhh, weekend is over! At least I managed to get the kitchen spotless. This included dejunking all the cupboards, fridge, got rid of old pots and pans, etc. and washing cupboards and walls. It is military clean lol. Guess next weekend will be more cleaning of the living room and bedroom. I had way more stuff than anticipated.

Next week is going to be fun! We have a team outing at work and we are going river rafting - yay! I haven't been rafting in years, and think this will be awesome! I love that we do physical things during our outings - karting, paintball, rafting, etc. So awesome - great way to bond as a team and get some exercise. I'll have to take pics! At least get a pic of me rafting..

And the camping date looms ever closer - 17 days to countdown. I am trying not to be nervous, but I forgot just how twitchy dating makes me. Just trying to ready my nerves and have everything in order so it is a fun time. Eep!.

And now, I am off to the gym. It is upper body day, my favorite day, so looking forward to the workout. Besides, I am meeting my gym friend/chiropractor at the clinic at lunch for my adjustment. Any kinks I get in my neck and back, he'll crunch out XD.

Have a great week!.

Sisky.

Kiyomi San:.

Nice to see you around! You sound like me 7 months ago - all work, no me time. I used to work all evening and weekend alongside my normal work week - 70-80 hour work weeks. I had no real life outside of work. My boss finally sat me down one day and talked to me about balancing these things and the importance of making a life outside of work. It took me a while to get the hang of not working, it was tough at first to not work, but now I see it is so worth it. My weekends and evenings are my time to rest and relax and focus on myself and then friends and loved ones.

UKB:.

"GET LOST!" works just as well my friend! Indeed, don't want to be saying my mantra out loud in the classroom XD Hope you are well and have a great OYP week. How is the student teacher mentoring going?.

Teresa:.

Just saying hello! Hope everything is well in your world. Hope your new elliptical gets there soon - I love my elliptical (well, the one at the gym!) and I would feel like I lost a family member at this point without it XD So glad you got the refund!.

Sony:.

How are you hanging in there? Hope the decision to step back from work is bringing you peace and contentment. Keep up the awesome work on your plan - your health and happiness are so worth it!.

Wow, back to back posts from me - and almost 24 hours later. I'd love to hear from you more often - sometimes it feels like I am talking to myself lol. Hope everyone is doing well and you all had a great OYP day. It is 3:50 am and I am off to the gym - getting in my workout before a long day at work. I have a 6-7 hour meeting today - I kid you not! It will be interesting training to be sure, but that is one long meeting XD I have to get in the gym training now or else it won't get done. Besides, nobody will probably be there this early so I will have the place to myself.

Still nervous about my upcoming camping date - there are a ton of butterflies in my tummy already. Eep! At least it is making me be extra diligent about my diet and exercise plan. Going to try and get as fit as possible before my friend arrives - just want to feel and look my best..

I've also started researching climbing groups that go up Mt. Fuji - how neat! Want to be prepared for next summer and get all my ducks in a row and be able to set a savings goal. How exciting!.

Take care and have a fantastic day!.

I have decided that my lethargy must have something to do with a change in the weather. My bones ACHE, especially my joints in my lower back. I believe I will be calling my massage therapist tonight (she helps, and it doesn't cost as much as a chiropractor). I haven't told DH yet..

I would like to start walking again. I may have to resort to setting the alarm..

I haven't done that in years, but need to get readjusted to the earlier time frame so that I have enough morning hours to get on the treadmill, say hello here, and get ready for work. My nights are going to get a bit shorter, I think..

Have I missed postings from.

Mary, Elaine, and Lia.

? Have they left us forever? I hope not. I would like to think that anyone new to the program would find the support they need here as well as those of us who have been here a while and can speak to their concerns..

Good morning Flirts!.

Just stopping in after the workout to say hello! Wow, I was amazed. I left my adjustable ankle weights in the gym yesterday by accident and they were still there this morning! Sweeeeeeeeeet! I really didn't want to spend another $40 on more lol. And given that someone has been stealing the free weights, this is nothing short of miraculous. Hooray for the little kindnesses right?.

I am still struggling with recent lifestyle changes. I finally gave up the cigarette habit last week, and have been smoke free for 7 days now. I know I am done the addiction, but the withdrawal is taking it's toll on me. Still feeling shaky and twitchy and my emotions are all over the map. Nonetheless, I will press on..

If you would have told me 8 months ago that I would be down 80 pounds and would have stopped eating refined carbs, sugars, artificial sweeteners, and quit smoking, I would have thought you crazy. But now, this is my reality, and as my body heals itself from years of abuse, I see a healthy future before me. Just goes to show that we are always more capable than we realize, and it is only though trying to improve that we discover this..

And LOL.

UKB.

- indeed, you did get the back to back posts too. good job on getting back into walking. I totally agree on the weather there. I used to live in Hull (Yorkshire) for a while, and the winter was killer. The freezing humidity just gets into your bones and joints. Glad you are going to a massage therapist.

Take care everyone!.

Hello Flirts, sorry for MIA, I was caught up with a lot of work this friday is my last day of work, YAY.....and then i'm tension free for few weeks.....meaning i'm not quitting wholly, me and my Boss came to an agreement that i'll be grabbing few projects on demand and finish it at my leisure, no pressure, and of course that too i'll be working from home, it's just that it wouldn't be a 20 or 40 hr work week, it'll be on occasion until I join them back late next yr once my lil one starts going to FT school! I'm soo looking fwd to this since I can concentrate on myself, kiddos, DH, home, life etc..

Hinata.

, river-rafting sounds adventurous! Have you done that before? When we were away for the labor day weekend we almost decided on going for a rafting but then I got all creeped out looking at those fast running waters and stepped back! Wow your camping is nearing too! Is this friend the one you had crush back in your schooling days? How long r you going off for? Thats soo awesome that you have dedided to quit smoking! One of my friends' from that Shakers thread had been smoke free for almost a month! So here I am rooting for you too!!!.

UK,.

Glad to hear you r slowly falling back on track! Sorry abt your aches, but I bet that massage sounds good and would ease you up a bit! I too am keeping up the attitude of walking atleast a few mins a day on the treadmill!.

Good morning.

Flirts.

!.

It is 3:18 am here and today is my training day with my gym friend/chiropractor/mentor! I always leave our meetings with new movements to try, and a fire lit under me about exercise and health. Poor guy though - today we have our gym time, then I go see him at the clinic at 5:00 for my chiropractic adjustment. His day begins and ends with me! XD.

He is always extra good to me too - he has hot towels for my back to make my muscles feel better, then he adjusts my spine. After this, I get a back massage. I always feel so relaxed and good after. I feel spoiled by his concern. I have never had that before, someone other than myself who put me first, so it is a unique experience to be sure..

Anway, no real plans for the weekend, but I am looking forward to it to be sure. I am tired and worn out, and still have a ton of house cleaning to do. Not a thrilling weekend, but with a house guest coming, it has to be done. Besides, I always feel so much better after I clean everything out..

Goodmorning Flirts, ahhh glad the weekend is finally here, sooo excited I 'm officially off my job for sometime now YAY.....of course my Boss was soo sad and not at all happy abt it he was swearing that he'll try to make it a point to limit my work to only 20 hrs weekly but I said no, I know he is nice and all that but due to work pressure and deadlines from clients/higher mgmt he had to thrush it on us, anyway I told him i'll definitely join back later next yr for a FT job until then i'll grab up a couple temporary projects from him here n there later after christmas maybe!.

Hinata,.

Good morning Sony! You did the right thing setting your boundaries with your boss - good for you! Isn't it awesome to be able to put ourselves first? Well done!.

Glad to have a friend in the Christmas fitness challenge. And glad you loved the image! I think this will be a fun challenge. Since I no longer weigh myself really, I am going for 100 days OMP and exercising. I think that is a good goal for me! As for camping, my friend is coming for a week visit, but we are camping for 3 days. After that, will drive up and down the California coast and just hang out. And I am putting all the finishing touches on the house this weekend.

As for where the other Flirts are, I have no idea anymore. I love this group, and think the Flirts are fantastic, but it is too quiet here. I have joined some other groups on the boards to get support and motivation, and they are really active which is something I need right now. In this last phase of weight loss, as I hone in on my goal, staying active on these boards is crucial to my success. Please feel free to join me, message me, and keep up on my blogs. As always, if you need anything, just let me know how I can help and I will do my best.

Ditto to all the above.

Hinata,.

I too do love this group but as you said it has gotten incredibly quiet in here, I too belong to a few of super-active-energetic groups and I need all of the support that I can get online in these boards here and all my friends' support is really crucial for me to keep moving ahead! This is infact one of the main reasons that I quit my job on purpose so that I can have more of ME time to concentrate on MYSELF and finish this journey! Glad you r doing it too! So how r you going to keep track of your weight?..

Heya Sony! Glad you can relate to my post. I am so glad to see you have put yourself first for once - it is critical in order for you to be the best you can be. I completely support you in this decision..

As for measuring my weight, you know what I do now? I buy a pair of pants a size too small, and each week, try to fit into them. I am serious XD Small pants are my new scale. Each week I see how much further up they can go. When I can button them up without trouble, I will then hop on my scale and measure weight. I still track my weight at these moments, or if I want to change my ticker, but otherwise, I don't care..

It is so liberating focusing on my shape and health and pants size (inches lost) rather then a number on the scale. Ultimately, I have come to the realization that don't care what I weigh as long as I am fit, toned, and sleek...

Perfectly makes sense Hinata! I too have bought a pair of Lucky jeans in a sz 8 and have been secretly admiring those since past few weeks! I try them onces in a while they do come all the way up till my waist but I can't zip it up! So the day I can zip em up comfortably and button it then I can say I did it! Though my target is to fit in a 4 or 6.......

One day they will fit perfectly! You just keep going girl ^^ And hey, after that, you can buy a pair of size 6 and start trying to fit into those. And when those fit, buy the 4's! It is such a fun way to measure progress. I also think it trains the brain to focus on.

"I am not there yet, but one day I will be".

Rather than thinking.

"I am not doing this".

Which is common when the scale slows or stops. Tangible, visible reinforcements, I believe, help keep us motivated, and measuring inches this way lets us see progress even if the scale has slowed or stopped. Plus you get some really cool pants out of it XD..

Hey Flirts!.

I've had a rough couple of weeks, but I plan on checking in more often again. I haven't gotten enough sleep, job is rough, and the husband is deployed and I haven't gotten to talk to him except 3 short emails..

I've still been working out, we did lower body on friday, and I'm still sore. I've needed help around the house and I need the grass cut. I'm hiring people for both of these things, just once then when the husband gets back, my routines can get more stable..

I did get to go to a festival, and it relaxed me, and even my excema shows that I'm more relaxed after a little fun. The 2nd festival that I wanted to go to was canceled, and I had asked off for that day for it, so the day seemed kind of lost, but I did get laundry and dishes done which was nice..

When my house is cleaner (which it will get there eventually) my mind is more clear to concentrate on the program..

Little NSV from last week, while they arn't my "skinny" pants they are smaller and I fit into them without feeling like I was being completely stuffed into them. Working out seems to be working for me!.

I hope all is well with you all, I'll go back and read what I've missed while I've been away...

Let's see....where do I need to begin?.

Good morning,.

Flirts.

!.

Have remained OP in my time away from the boardsgood news. Busy as all heck though with the student teacher, rewrites on the essays, grooming for the video presentation (highlights will be put in on Tuesday!), and then just being me and needing time to go to the football games, visit with DH, etc. Time has just gotten away from me a bit!.

Sony.

,.

Hinata.

I can't lose this group and I don't have time to cruise and learn the other ones! LOL Please.

Don't give up on the.

Flirts.

!!!!.

I haven't tried on my size 8 jeans in a while. I guess I am just too afraid of how badly they won't fit. I have been wearing my tens (and yes, they are loose), but until I get below the 190 mark again, I am not wearing the 8s. I don't know that I want to go much below the 8. I don't want to look like a string bean, and at 5'7.5" I start looking pretty gaunt in my face at 165. I think it scared me enough I unconsciously started eating more.

DH may have had a mini stroke last night. He vision blurred in one eye and the eyelid was sagging. I could not convince him to go to the dr though. He can be so stubborn. It went away so he doesn't want to be bothered. With the kidney stones just a few weeks ago, I am more and more concerned about his health.

It didn't convince him, but it didn't add any weight to my frame either..

Kat.

, what kind of job are you looking for? Have you tried going to the school and seeing if they need aides or secretaries? You would get school hours then. My DH works at school with me and it makes it easy to get away on those federal holidays since we have all of them off together. The pay isn't awesome, but the other perks like working with kids and people who love kids is AWESOME..

I saw a new London Fog peacoat I wanted in a beautiful red. I did not end up walking out of the Exchange with it though as I just couldn't justify another coat. I have a closet full! Of course, most of them are a bit big for me at this point. I need to get rid of some of them..

It's Sunday. A day of rest..

Rest well, my friends,..

Good morning Flirts!.

Wow, so glad to see people chiming in on the thread. What a nice way to start the morning. Just got back from the gym a short while ago. Upper body day is my favorite day! My gym friend/chiropractor/mentor is helping me work my upper back so my posture is better. I had no idea I was slumping at all until I started working with him. Getting aligned is a great feeling, especially since I am at a computer all day..

I am excited about the "100 Days Until Christmas" Challenge that is going on right now. There is a thread in the "ready, Set, Go!" forum if anyone is interested in joining - Sony and I are doing it, and I encourage everyone to join. There are over 100 people committed to this, and lots of fun, excitement, and support. I have committed to 100 days OMP and exercising. I am excited to see the results once it is over!.

Other than that, just trying not to let my upcoming camping trip make me nervous. As I said, I haven't dated in forever, so it gives me butterflies in my tummy. I cannot believe it is only 10 days away. Eep! At least the house will be clean..

UKB:.

Nice to see you again! Don't worry, I am not leaving the Flirts. I just want some threads that are more active. I am at a stage where I need as much interactivity as I can find, so that means reaching out to the really active MF'ers. This doesn't negate the fact that you, and all the Flirts, are important to me. You can always reach me for support and friendship, and I will always respond..

Sorry to hear about your DH possibly having a mini-stroke - I wish he would get to the doctor. Ugh, stubbornness is not what is needed here! Anyway, I hope it was nothing major and his health is well..

And you are so lucky - I was 183 last I weighed myself and I just fit into size 16. I am not sure if I will ever wear a size 10 or 8. Amazing how different body shapes affect size, isn't it? I carry all my weight on my belly, so I tend to end up with pants that are tight on the waist and hips and too big on the legs. LOL! Maybe one day it will balance out..

Kiyomi San:.

So glad to hear from you! Glad you had a relaxing time at the festival and got your house cleaned. I just blogged about house clutter since I am in decluttering hell right now. With a guest coming to visit, gotta have everything lemony fresh! A clean, pure space really does make a difference emotionally. And yay on the workouts - keep going! Awesome job.

Sony:.

Just shouting out a hello to you! Hope you had a nice evening ^^.

Take care everyone!.

Good afternoon Flirts, wow nice to see a few pretty faces back! Well as UK said today is sunday a day of rest and guess thats what I was doing, lol. Yesterday evening I had literally pumped up my heart beat by running behind my kids all over the park and on the bike trail since they were riding their trikes! It was fun though and the weather was extremely beautiful like fall in higher 60's maybe. I love this weather not too hot and not too cold since Colorado weather in winter gets worse I tell ya and I hate winter! Anyway we're planning on doing the same thing today too in the late afternoon maybe..

Hinata.

, i've read your post abt your workout this morning in the Challenge thread, awesome! Wow waking up soo early way too early infact to go to the gym, you r awesome dude! heheeee....aweee i'm getting all goosebumps thinking about your date/camping trip Hinata! And BTW isn't that Christmas challenge thread awesome! Nancy started it just the day before and in less that 3 days there r like 100+ members!.

UK,.

Soo nice to see you! Ohhh thats so scary to hear abt DH, hope he is doing well now! Don't worry i'm not leaving this thread for sure just that like Hinata said I needed that extra support & motivation hence shopping around:-).

I know, the challenge thread is going strong! It is very motivating to me - glad to have you there with me! As for the gym, I go that early every morning - usually start between 3:30 -5:00 am. It is my alone time - just me and the equipment. I had to make fitness a priority in my life, and going early means nobody is there to distract or derail my workout. I can focus and get the job done. And hey, I never would have met my gym friend if I weren't there early, so bonus!.

Speaking of gym friends, I am going to have a new trainer come March after my current gym friend/mentor leaves to pursue his life's dreams. This new trainer is a dear friend of mine who happens to be a staff sergeant in the Air Force. By March, I should be fit enough to handle his training. He is going to make me "military grade" XD. Oh man, I can already feel the sore coming on, but what a challenge. I am up for it. Though I will never say "Sir, yes sir." LOL!..

Good morning Flirts!.

It is 4:13 am here, and I am just getting ready to head to the gym. The dreaded lower body workout day is upon me - this is just my least favorite workout day, probably because my lower body is still the most out-of-shape part of me. Stupid belly chub and hip fat - I cannot seem to make it budge! Well, not like the rest of the fat. Oh well, I shall press on!.

I can only imagine how much work had piled up over the weekend. I dread Mondays for the mass quantity of email I receive. No emergency phone calls though, so at least that is good. I am glad I no longer work all day and night and weekend too. I had no idea how much stress that was putting on me. It is interesting to me - the more healthy and fit I become, the less I want to sit at a computer all day.

One day I'll find the balance I seek..

Anyway, have a great OYP day!.

Good morning Flirts!.

Just got back from the gym! Yay for upper body day! I always feel better on upper body day. Got in my cardio too, so I am good to go for the day. Not up to much really - just work as always. I do find myself staring out the window more though, wanting to be outdoors and active. This is such a change for me - the girl who used to hide inside. I feel like my whole world has gone 180 degrees from where I was this time last year and the things that are important to me now are not what they were a year ago.

It is so much more than any number on the scale!.

I am starting to stress over my upcoming date - he will be here next week! I cannot get my mind off of it - I am a big ball of nerves. It is funny, I am usually not nervous about many things, but dating is something I am not comfortable with at all, so it freaks me out. I so want to eat off my plan, but I won't do it. I know that it is fear that is causing these cravings, and I cannot succumb to fear. I won't sabotage my efforts. Just have to take some deep breaths and focus on being positive right?.

Sony.

: Hope the little one is doing better - I hate when kids get fevers. Hope you can get some rest today! And no, my friend that can do push-ups on his thumbs is not my current gym friend lol. But my current gym friend can do this thing where he lays on his belly, and can completely lift his body to his thighs off the ground only using his core muscles - it looks almost snake like. It is an amazing sight!.

UKB.

: Congrats on being on plan and getting your exercise in - well done! Definitely keep that momentum going!.

Anyway, that is all for now! Have to shower and then do my deep breathing exercises. I always take a few minutes before I start the day to focus my mind and mentally repeat positive thoughts. I am finding this helps ease my frustrations..

Good Morning Flirts, my lil one is doing much better today and the fever is gone! I'm so glad I don't have to work anymore, lol, now I can concentrate more on my babies and my home and family......

UK, i'm so glad you have started walking again! Now it's motivating me to go start my treadmill today and update some more miles on that ticker! I can totally understand what you r going thru with DH, my DH sounds sooo much similar, he recently got type 2 diabetes along with a slight rise in BP, cholesterol and stuff and he just turned 40! I so feel bad that he had to go thur this at such a young age but you know it runs in his family so inherited it I suppose! Anyway the point is he had been experiencing these symptoms of light headedness, etc. since past few months hopefully even a year or so and whenever I suggested he go see a Doc he is like noooo i'm healthy and strong and perfect, I do workouts, eat balanced meals, i'm at a good weight blah blah blah, then finally I took appointment for him and literally dragged him to the clinic and had his blood work and all done, and hence the final result was out! Seriously these men r of sooo much trouble! Even now i've to remind him every sigle day to take medication even sometimes I give it to him!.

Hinata, I can totally understand your situation, butterflies in your tummy, getting all goosebumps, etc, right? Ohhh dear you take care and don't let these feelings hurt your weight loss journey! Its sooo strange how losing weight, getting into exercises and getting fit changes our way of thinking and takes it to a whole new level! Sooo glad it's playing an important factor in your lifestyle!..

Good morning Flirts!.

Well, my pants were feeling much looser, so I decided to weigh myself again for fun..

Hello 177.

- woo! Haven't seen the 170's since the early 1980's! That is 86 pounds down now - 14 pounds from having lost 100 pounds, 18 pounds from being a healthy weight, and 31 pounds from my goal. That is sweeeeeeeeeeet!.

At this point, I am not sure if I will stay at my goal weight once I get there, or go lower. We shall see how I feel once I arrive at the finish line. But for now, the goal is closer than ever. I can see it so close now - it is no longer even on the horizon, it is just down the road a distance. And believe me - I am running harder, faster, stronger toward it then ever before. I will not trip, stumble, or be derailed in this crucial "last mile" of my personal race.

What a feeling! Now, if only I could get out of size 16 pants and into the 14's XD.

As always, I couldn't have done this without the Flirts and your support, so thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart..

Sony:.

So glad the little one is feeling better, but sorry you have to remind your DH to take his meds! Sometimes we have to look after boys of all ages hey? LOL! I won't let anything stop me from getting to my goal, but thanks for reminding me to relax. I need to do that more. And you are right - my entire life has changed through this process. It is the best thing about losing weight - finding myself. My goals, dreams, and aspirations are completely different. I had no idea when I started down this path that I would become, in many ways, a different person, but I am.

Either way, it is a beautiful thing - these wings I am growing get stronger every day and in a few months, I will soar!.

UKB:.

So glad to hear you took time to get your hair done - bet it looks fabulous! I envy you good hair, truly! I got a "body wave" perm to try and put some volume in my hair, and it fried my hair. I now look like I am rocking a the white girl fro if I don't do anything with it. Nothing will save it - just have to grow it out and cut it off LOL!.

Have a great day everyone!.

I have to sit down & seriously think about it though, cuz I don't want to by any means go offplan or binge on something bad! Tomorrow it's an easy one, pizza, salad & cake, that lady is soo sweet since she said she can boil some eggs for me, awee......so I can have eggs & salad no biggy there tomorrow.....though i'm worried abt saturday! She is having a salad bar, snacks, etc., you name it she is putting it out there! And I can't even escape by giving some excuse cause she is my best friend! What do I do, it's an all day party and she said I can't leave before night though she organised a lunch party, since she would be needing help around the house with 100+ guests!..

Hi Flirts,.

Sorry for the absence. Life just got so busy....

Plus, I haven't been dieting at all....

Today I'm back in all ways..

I know that losing my elliptical has been a stumbling block. Hope to replace it this weekend. Tryinng not to overthink it..

Sony, I'm glad the illness has passed! And your photo looks so great. I don't know when you even changed it, but I love your beautiful, smiling face..

UK, It sounds like you're back on track now. Yeah, for new hairdos! I'm thinking of dying the grey out of mine finally..

Hinata, You continue to inspire me. Thanks for visiting my blog!!.

I have an idea for butterfly soothing... if you know what you want, instead of feeling nervous, maybe try to.

See.

It happening the way you want it to. Do some visualization work..

Or if you want to stay neutral, just visualize being in the situation and feeling good and calm and happy and being YOU..

That's what I try to do..

Normally I exercise to relieve anxiety, but I don't know how you could add any more exercise!!.

I hope you have a wonderful time..

Okay, I plan to be back checking in every day..

Hugs to all,.

Good evening Flirts!.

I just wanted to stop by and say hello! Tomorrow my team is going river rafting for the day for a team outing - awesome! looking forward to it - so much and activity. I think it will be very motivating!.

Today was a landmark day for me, truly. I was able to look into a mirror and not see a "fat girl". I was in the gym working on my form, and checked myself in the mirror. My mind thought "You are so tiny"...and it stopped me in my tracks, broke me down, made me cry. I have never thought that before, and even though I still have weight to lose, I was able to see myself as smaller, stronger. My mind didn't go "You are such a fat beast", I didn't mentally beat myself up.

I think my mind is catching up with my body. Words cannot articulate this moment..

Hope you all had a great day! Sony, Teresa, and UKB - thanks as always so very much for your kind words and support..

And thank you for sharing your beautiful moment with us..

I love it, and you described it so wonderfully. You've certainly earned every bit of it!.

I'm glad you're enjoying it..

Hi Kat, Sony, UK....

I'm making another goal for today of having even less or no simple carbs. Only whole grains..

Now, by the time Monday comes around, I will finally be ready to start my 5 and 1. This is actually working for me. Finally!.

Hoping to find an elliptical machine today too..

Thanks for listening!.

I hope everyone is having a great day..

Good morning Flirts,.

Holy hell I am sore from the white water rafting. So sore it took me 10 mins just to get out of bed this morning. 6 hours of paddling and navigating rapids is *tough* work and a harsh workout lol. Arms, back, legs, and core - all worked out for 6 hours with only one short break. Also accidentally got hit in the face with the end of a paddle after a steep drop in some rapids - thought I was going to pass out. I was underwater and felt the hit, tried to catch my breath, but then got slammed with another wave of water over the boat and went under again.

After that, I was golden and we pressed on. I am nothing if not a trooper!.

It was funny, because they take pics of people going over these particular rapids where I got hurt, and there is a picture of me getting hit in the face. The following pictures you can see me go under the water again, then come up and I am grabbing my face in pain. Agony caught on film! Anyway, I have a bruised face, shoulders, and butt and can barely walk or move my arms. This morning Icy Hot gel and Advil are my best friends! I am also up 2.5 pounds in water weight gain. It was fun though!.

Go hard or go home right?.

Teresa.

: So glad you have found a way to get back on your path -well done! Sending you my best thoughts and wishes for a successful journey as always.

Wow, Hinata, that's amazing!.

Imagine if you hadn't been working out all this time.. or actually, all those other people who probably don't work out as much as you do! Incredible..

It's great to do something so different. It really wakes up your body. I bet you'll see some great progress coming up..

Hi everyone!.

I'm having a good weekend... plugging away..

I hope you're all well, as always,.

Heya! Glad to see you are plugging away - well done! and had I not been exercising, I could not have done that in any safe kind of way. I absolutely thought of my gym trainer/mentor while I was doing this - if he had not been kicking my butt to do upper and lower body weight training, I'd be toast. But because I have been working out diligently, I was able to keep myself in the raft using only my leg muscles. Imagine that - going over rapids, and being submerged, and not being able to hold onto anything, but still being able to stay in the raft from having good core and quad/hamstring strength to brace against the sides of the raft. The only thing keeping me in that raft was my legs. It was amazing!.

This is.

*exactly*.

Why I no longer care what I weigh as much as I care how I can move, breathe, and be active. I am developing a passion for physical things like this and being able to do them is so rewarding in ways that a number on a scale never will be. I felt totally alive yesterday - it was brilliant..

Wow, angry Hinata came out in my blog. I got an email from someone I used to consider an acquaintance about my blogs - in short, I basically feel I was called a liar and a terrible role model who sets impossible fitness goals for people. Wow, talk about demoralizing. I couldn't not address it - I just couldn't. I have fought this kind of thing all my life, and I certainly don't need it from other people who know where I have been and what I have gone through. I am going to go take a hot shower now and decompress. Seriously, who sends someone such a message? :/..

Good morning Flirts!.

Wow, what a few days it has been. Completely sore from the rafting, then a really nasty email. I felt all over the map yesterday evening after reading that piece of trash. Oh well, such is life. I just got back from the gym - hooray for upper body day! The gym actually calms me and focuses my mind - I am feeling terrific now, though a hot shower will make things even better..

Today I am doing some final house cleaning/organizing work. I cannot believe that the date is only a few days away. And how awesome that I will be going into it with a bruised face and pulled muscle in my butt - SEXY! LOL! Oh well, he can deal with it XD.

: Glad you stopped by the Flirts thread, and thank you so much for your nice comments! It is true, that person doesn't determine my perspective of myself. It was just hurtful and unnecessary to send something like that. I am all good.

Take care everyone!.

Grrrr, feeling crabby. Ugh, between the intense exercise of rafting and PMS, I think I have about 10 pounds of water retention going on. Not pleasant - especially before my camping date. Blah! At least it will eventually go away, still - it's making me feel puffy and bloated. I need to stick a pin in my belly and let it drain out LOL!..

Wow.

Hinata.

, it took me a while to catch my breathe reading thru your good/bad experiences, infact I was reading them over & over again and just jinxing & cursing some stupid maniac who can be soo immoralized & having some gut to send you such an email!.

Seriously why does anyone think that you were making up all those explanations about workouts? This place is like our small family & we feel like sharing our experiences good or bad with *others* and feel good about it! Whoa...now i'm just death scared to even share my genuine experiences, victories etc., maybe who knows those too will be considered faux!!! But anyway I know that you r such a strong woman u'll least bother abt it and let it go to hell, right?.

I'm soo proud of you that you did your routine workout today irrespective of all what you had gone thru with rafting plus sore muscles! I could never have done that, I mean I would atleast have taken like a week off from workouts or anything physical had I gone thru all that trauma!!! Ohh I thought your date has already arrived this weekend!..

Good morning Flirts!.

Wow, I slept in today until 6 am! I think between the rafting and a weekend of intense house cleaning/decluttering my body was just worn out. It said "Lady, you are going to REST whether you like it or not!". And so I rested.

I'll hit the gym after work - no biggy..

I am getting so excited about my upcoming date this week! It used to seem so far away, like a distant dream, but now he arrives this Wednesday, and I am finding myself more giddy with excitement than nerves. I think this will be so much fun, and I love that it is an active date. Hiking to waterfalls, Redwood forests, climbing hills and small mountains - what a great way to connect! I have just kept reminding myself that at the end of the day, we have been friends forever and will continue to be friends, so nothing is lost by this adventure. Besides, no risk, no reward right?.

Sony.

: Thanks for the kind thoughts! Sure that email made me mad, mostly because this was from someone that I at one point considered enough about to give her my email address. On reflection, I think I was angry because I was hurt. But it's all good now - whatever issues she has are just that, her issues, not mine. I am not owning someone else's crazy. Don't ever be afraid to talk about your authentic experiences. There may be times people say mean things, but they can eat it.

As for the exercise after rafting, I have learned that when I am the most sore from intense exercise is precisely when I need to exercise the most. It sounds counter-intuitive, but it *does* help get rid of the soreness faster than not exercising. I had to modify my routine a bit, but today I am feeling good!.

And my date arrives on Wednesday - eep! Should be fun though, so I am looking forward to it.

Hope you all had a great weekend, and managed to stay OYP!.

Ok! Some rafting pics - I am in the front of the raft, left side with the blue shirt on!.

This is me looking fierce in a raft - I owned that river!.

And sometimes the pursuit of challenging your physical limits means getting a paddle in the face. I told you it was caught on film! XD..

Hinata, do you mean that was you, that skinny girl in front? Holy Moly! Thanks for sharing the photo. I love it!!.

I'm so sorry I wasn't even checking in the past few days. I can't stand it that you had that terrible email..

You can see the last time I blogged here and that was it... never again. I was just saying something that was actually positive but I attracted some weird intense reactions by people who totally didnt' even care what I was really saying..

This is not in general a safe place to me. (except for the flirts and the 4 and 2 thread).

But you are so amazing and your blogs are ALWAYS positive and supportive and inspirational..

People can just suck. Sorry for the phrasing, but I believe it to be an accurate description..

Forget blogging, you're ready to write a book. Just collect the blogs you've already written and your journey and you have it..

Hi Sony! I'm glad you're around too! How are you? How are your boys?.

UK.... I'm thinking of you and wishing you the best..

Love to you all,.

Teresa,.

One of the main reasons I don't go intense in my posts is people over here in general (except for the threads I home, you all r awesome), I have seen many people's experiences, one of the recent being Hinata and thats it!!! Boys r doing well, busy with schoold and all, thanx for asking!.

UK.
