Got a quick question: Are potatoes bad for a Nutrisystem diet? Looking forward for any comment. Second question.. After watching Utah rule Alabama on Saturday night, the upcoming BCS championship game will not mean much.. |

You betcha! but you might want to make sure and wait for another member here to confirm this as I am unsure of myself. Better yet, why don't you contact the Nutrisystem guys because they can answer you better...

I keep hearing the thing about the money and the bowl games..
Wouldn't a playoff system bring in money too? Starting with the top 16 teams, there would be 15 games to be played. 8-4-2-1. I haven't stopped to count how many bowl games there are but you could also have the bowl games for conference championships... |

Give me a playoff system and have it start right after the season ends. The team that plays in January is not the same team that is playing in November..
I believe I heard that there are 42 bowl games, which means of the 115 teams in D1 84 of them are in bowl games... |

I agree with Mobay, taking the top 16 teams, 14 bowl games and those are sponsored by the highest corporate bidders. Having corp sponsors bid on the top 14 games may even bring in more money..
What teams are left from the 84 would and could be invited to play in other bowl games that would go ahead and happen anyway. This would still bring in the same money that is currently being brought in.. Let the coaches, computers and Harris pole decide who the top 16 are and lets move forward.. The way it is set up now is crazy... |

So would these play off games all be played on neutral fields or would there be home field advantage involved? If there were playoffs you couldn't have 16 teams it would have to be the top 10 or 8. Imagine the cost of going to one bowl game compared to 4 playoff games. If your team went to the championship..
All props to Utah for what they did, but Alabama's O-line went from one of the best to flat out horrible without big Andre Smith... |

Hehe I also guess i'm alright with how things turned out this season with the BCS. Since my Sooners are in the title game. Nothing sweeter then hearing a bunch of texan's crying over their football...

First let me say I am a hated Ohio State Buckeye Fan..
One problem with the Playoff system is a worry that fans would not travel all to that many games reducing the gate for the stadiums. With the Bowls Universities guarantee a number of tickets sold. If you saw the A.C.C. championship game the stands where almost empty.. I do like the neutral site idea or higher seeded team host. I hate that the Florida teams never Play outside of Florida. All the Bowls are home games for them.. Also think about the fact that until the BCS and or ESPN started we had up to 4 teams a year being named National Champs. AP, UPI, etc.. And for the most part everyone was fine with it. We are all sheep to what ESPN puts on the radio and TV.. I think the AP should name UTAH the National champs just to confuse the issue. They wont but it would be interesting to hear all the talking heads.. And why the heck do they put all of these games on during week nights? Well it might make it easier not to drink a few since work comes early... |

You would think that they would pull bigger ratings numbers on the weekends thus pulling higher prices for ad time...
