Visit the website.

You will find nutrition info on your add-ins as well as restaurant, fast food and mall eateries. Once you do searches about the foods you used to eat and want to eat that are not on the program, you will realize the bad choices you used to make. If your going to out and know in advance where you will be dining, see if that restaurant has a website with their menu and nutrition info. Uno's Chicago Grill has a great site where their menu is broken down into categories such as "under 500 Calories" "less than 750 mg of sodium" "greater than 5g of Dietary Fiber" etc.( Just be aware that the serving size is 2 not 1) The 2 I have been to had a computer with the nutrition page pulled up so you can choose your meal before you sit down...

I found a good book called "Eat this, not that" at Costco..

It gives advice on how to make healthy choices at places like Mexican restaurants..

There is also a dining out guide here on this site under the Tips&Recipes tab at the top of the page..

Stay away from the basket of chips...too easy to add a ton of calories by mindlessly munching until the dinner arrives...

Maptivo - everything above is correct. However, I don't think it's a good idea to start deviating from the plan this early on. Family in town or not. Most of your rapid weight loss will come on the front end of the program. If you've only been on plan for a couple of days and already begin modifying, then you will likely erase everything you've lost. Just my humble opinion.

No chips, nothing else. You will be very glad a few weeks down the line when you are buying new pants and seeing a different vision in the mirror...

Maptivo,.

Way to go! As stated above, the beginning is most crucial as that is where most of your weight loss will happen. All you need to do is look at others tickers to see that. It will get easier, and the fact that you had just the soup shows that you have will power. as you drop the lbs the will power will get stronger. That will power will grow stronger than you thought it ever could and it may sound funny but at times you'll almost welcome the challenge to eat right. (happened to me, anyway) could be I'm just a glutten for punishment. You keep going!..
