Got a quick question: Can I do Medifast Diet without cooking? Thanks in advance for any answer or 2. Another question I got... Hi, I'm new. I have been on the program for 6 days. I'm realizing what Medifast foods work and what don't. Some are pretty satisfying (yay oatmeal!), but some make me all binge-y.

I'm just wondering... do the cravings get better? I am fairly confident that the hunger will get better as I adjust. But most evenings I am just craving cheese or some other crazy thing even though I am not technically all that hungry..

I'm also noticing food commercials all the sudden! I'm not a huge tv watcher but I do have my favorite shows. I just want to flip the channel so I don't have to watch about Dove chocolate or Taco Bell or whatever. Does anyone else have issues with that?.

I am also hoping someone could explain about these mini groups (Future flirts, etc.?). Should I join one? How do I know what's the right one to join?!.

Thanks so much for any input you have!! Mella..

Hi Mella,.

Welcome to MF. I am currently in week 5 so I have not been here too long either..

I haven't really had any problems with cravings since my first week, but it may just depend on the person. Additionally, the food commercials do not bother me anymore. However, I can remember all of my previous attempts at weightloss. For some reason, I had terrible cravings and and the food commercials were a real problem for me. I don't know if it is the diet that makes these reactions so different or if I am just more "mentally" ready for this now. Whatever the reason, I have found it amazingly easy to stay OP once I completed my first week.

I don't know if this is true, but I have been 100% OP and feel so much better than I did during week 1..

I do not belong to any of the groups. I have thought about it but I worry that these groups have been together for a long time, so the people in these groups likely have a connection with each other. If I join one of the groups, will I form any connections or will I just be "in the way". For the most part, everyone on these boards seem very nice, so I am sure that they will welcome newbies with open arms. I guess my problem is that I have always been treated like an outcast because of my weight so I just assume the worst..

I believe the best thing about joining one of the groups is that you would get extra support. I would also think that the groups would make you feel more accountable for staying OP, more motivated to stay OP, and will also encourage you to get back on track if you make any mistakes..

As far as picking a group to join, I would probably read their posts, at least the most recent ones and see which one I felt more connected to. If you find one you like, just introduce yourself and tell them you would like to join..

I am a re-committed Medifaster, and not a part of a group. Never was. Part of me never joined because I find that if I actively have friends who may have a big weight loss and are doing better, I get down on myself and have a harder time wanting to complete my mission!!! LOL. Maybe that will change, I am older and hopefully wiser *wink*.

Are you getting enough water? that may help the cravings. I dont eat the snacks because I too would want them all. I have them, and have used them occasionally, but for the most part, I don't. Now you say your on day 6, and you may have binged on those snacks because of the first few days when your hunger is still there and not in check. You may want them later, or avoid them all-together. See how you feel!.

I love my tv, but maybe you could avoid the commericals? go and drink a glass of water? fold clothes? lol? Anything but watching them. I remember when I quit smoking and commercials triggered me to light up. I had to find something to so during them! Now I have Directv and never watch live tv so I can forward thru them. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH modern technology..

Good luck!!!..

My iPage site is not created using osCommerce. It uses pure xhtml and .css which would not be practical for your needs..

All you need to do is to remove the "Center Shop" code. Did you add it in the first place, or was it done for you by someone else?..

Hi Tracy! Congrats on 26 lbs lost!! It's encouraging to hear about your success..

I just went for a long walk with my dog Josie tonight - an hour - probably the most exercise I've gotten in months. It felt great though. It was definitely a good distraction from my hunger, which I needed. I know just what you mean about feeling like an outcast b/c of weight. I struggle with the same thing. It's amazing how that can even carry over into the online world..

So far I have had a little cheat every day, like a LF babybel cheese or something like that (or...ahem, a box of soy crisps). I'm not sure how bad that is but I've been giving myself a little slack while I adjust. I am going to try for 100% OP starting today..

Ok, How do you suggest I can achieve this look.

? I can remove the code, but I like having my store centered. Are there any other ways to do it?..

Hi bigmom.

I wish I had a DVR - I would never watch live tv again!! I will just have to change the channel when a commercial comes on - until I am more used to being on Medifast at least. Glad to know I am not the only one who has been bothered by the commercials!.

It is great to get support on the message boards and read other people's success stories! It helps a lot!!..

You can still have your page centered. Just remove all the Center Shop code, and replace it with a.

<table width="xxx" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0">.

In the header. Obviously you would change xxx to the amount of pixels or percent that you want the width of your shop to be..

And in the footer, close the table:.

You could also use a couple of <div> containers but the above code will do what you want...

The first week is the hardest for sure. Maybe once your body starts to adjust you will be able to follow the plan more thoroughly. Also, Nutrition Support suggests that you add an extra Medifast meal during your first week if you are having a hard time. From my experience, once I got past the first week, it became so easy. I am sure it is different for everyone, that is just my experience..

It's good that you did something to get your mind off of your hunger. I have not done any exercise and I probably wont until I reach 300 pounds. By then I know my weightloss will be slowing down and I will have much more energy..

You're almost finished with your first week! Let me know how you did! Good luck!.

This will create you a centered shop, compatible with 800x600 screen res and up and it will place a border around your site..

First open up your catalog/includes/header.php.

At the top you will see something pretty much like.

$Id: header.php,v 1.42 2003/06/10 18:20:38 hpdl Exp $ osCommerce, Open Source E-Commerce Solutions.

Copyright © 2003 osCommerce.

Released under the GNU General Public License.

At line 12 or 13 you want to add the following:.

  //begin dead easy outer table.

    print ('<table width="790" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="2" bgcolor="#000000">.

      <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF">');.

  //end dead easy outer table.

And that's it, job done!.

To change the color of the border change the first number.

To change the color of the table content/background change the second number..

To change the width of the outline/border change the value of cellspacing.

E.g. for a 1 pixel border change cellspacing="2".

To be cellspacing="1"..

Mellawach, good luck..

Many of the groups have a diet coach starter. Don't let that worry you, they welcome you even if you don't use them. I don't have a diet coach. And I respond very badly to brow beating, put downs, or people telling me I am a failure if I slip. SO I have found the Purplepassion Positive thread to be home. Wonderful caring people who will let you beat yourself up for making bad choices and cheer you on for getting back up and to it..

Congrats on the first week, it IS the hardest..

Cravings? I can't let my self think about carbs ... pasta or breads. I don't care about sweets. But I can eat an entire pan of corn bread, a half dozen biscuits, a heaping plate of spaghetti. I have learned to add spices to the foods here, add in egg white protein when I am starving and must have SOMETHING, and to be kind to myself when I mess up. The beating oneself up and letting others is why many of us failed before.

I face this diet with joy. I can do this. I can do this and feel healthy..

Right now I am having a rare starvation day. I just keep reminding myself I can eat in 2 hours and that hunger, unpleasant as we think it is... is a good thing. It really is. It is the body saying it isn't getting enough new calories. I tell it to watch the "old minutes" commercial.

You can do this. You can..

But I am laughing at your shoes and clothes goals. Not me! I have clothes in every size. Until I hit goal, I don't want to waste money. Even my feet went from 6 1/2 to 7 up to size 8 1/2 and 9s. I am going to buy some superb shoes when I get down to 145!..

Why would you need to use the php "print" function to print the table to the screen ? .

What about closing the table you just opened ? .

By only doing what you have posted, it will cause some serious HTML errors (never a good thing!)..

Hi, I installed a center shop contribution on my iPage site and it works nicely except for one thing. I have this ugly border going around the website. Take a.

Look at.

Does anyone know how to remove this border?.

This is what the "Center Shop" contribution causes - ugly sites..

Get rid of it from header and footer. Or at least thin down the nested tables the it creates..

"Center Shop" is nasty...
