Hi Janell & Gang!.

Just checking in to see how everyone's doing.

I'm hanging in there. The scale is only moving about a bound here and there, but I'm not discouraged. I just signed up for 5 Krav Maga classes. Apparently it's a form of self defense and kickboxing that's used by the Isreali Defense Department. Two other friends signed up so I'll have to update once we've gone to a class..

Janell.

- funny re starting a new thread. I went through and am still kinda going through that over on the Sexyback thread. They've all jumped ship more or less except me and one other person. Do you think the activity died down because of the FB group? As for the weekend warrior work coming to an end - that's gotta be exciting. I'm like a kid at xmas when I buy new things, whether it's workout clothes, regular clothes, things for my place, you name it!.

Michelle.

- WOW!!! I am REALLy sorry to hear that and totally understand the decision to switch! Definitely let us know how the new program is going - hopefully really well.

Hope all is well gang..

I think it's me ladies! I have posted on two or three boards and they all tend to end up being updated maybe once a day! Just fell into a storm drain running to get my Matthew from the bus. Looks like no Bikram for me tonight. I have been so hungry the past few days. Official weigh-in tomorrow, but I am not hoping for much. A pound will be good..

Have a great day!..

Hey Ladies!.

I think it is normal to see a slow down after the first of the year, statistics show that the majority who start a diet the first of the year fall off within 60 days - so HOORAY! for us for sticking with it!!! The facebook group has been a little slow as well. Also, I think people start to get really busy this time of year, running to track meets, ball games, soccer, etc. Hopefully we will find some newbies here.

Keish - the exercise sounds fun, can't wait to hear about it. I went to my first Zumba class night and LOVED it!!.

Autumn - are you OK, sounds like a nasty fall!! I am having a hungry day today too, and I was starving after Zumba last night - do either of you find that exercise increases your appetite?.

I am having the worst day at work, got a virus and IT just called to tell me they are wiping my hard drive clean!!! I am SO angry I could spit nails. The thing that irritates me most is that the person who is 'fixing' it, isn't really an IT person, just a support person, and I know that it could be fixed, if she just knew what she was doing. I asked if I could take it to my normal computer repair place - they only charge $40 to remove a virus, and she said NO, it is school property. URG!!! 4 years of teaching materials, student records, etc. down the drain. OH THE ANGER!!!!!..

I wanna B a goal getter! lol!.

I'm a 40 year old housewife with 2 kids (one is grown and has her own baby on the way!). I've been married for 20 years to a soldier who's currently serving in Afghanistan..

Right now, my goal is to lose another 24.6 pounds and make it to 140. I've lost 26 pounds before MF, add to that the 15 I look off last month and that makes a grand total of 41 pounds. I want to continue to regain my health and have a full and active life..

OK, I have one more goal that's probably not that noble. My family is coming together in November for the birth of my daughter's baby. I want to look so freakin' good that they don't even recognize me! :-P..

Hi Ladies -.

Autumn.

- O!M!G!!!!!! That DEFINITELY sounds like more than a nasty fall! I hope you are ok and it's one of those things that sounds worse than it is!.

I'm really sorry to hear about the fall and sending good vibes to the scale so you see more than 1lb down!.

Janell.

- great points on the "quiet" posting traffic. As for the computer, I'm angry FOR YOU! I think I would've snuck the computer out during off hours and had it done! That's insane they won't let a pro handle it and just reimburse you. My Bff and several fam members teach so I know how irreplacable that stuff is. For the new computer, can you buy an external hard drive and back up your stuff? That's what a cousin ended up doing when a similar situation happend to her. What subject and grade level do you teach? I'm jealous you'll be out and enjoying summer soon!.

Shay.

- Welcome and I'm with Janelle, wanting to be a "Hot Granny" is quite noble. Here's the nutshell about me: I'm 35, single, no kids, never married, lover of life. I'm a pro makeup artist so that keeps me busy at times between the weddings, cable news, commercials and indy projects (which are here and there). I'm trying to lose mainly for myself - was always pretty thin then have "ballooned" (no pun intended) once the metabolism slowed down. Working in a weight obsessed industry doesn't help either. Congrats on the 20 years and being a soldiers wife! It's really impressive - not a lot of people can handle that lifestyle!..

Shay - LOVE the car, we MUST see pics of your hot self standing in front of the flames.

Do either of you experience varying hunger days? Yesterday, I was SO hungry, and today, I am forcing myself to eat - what's up with that??? Mondy night was my first Zumba so I wonder if that made me more hungry yesterday? I have Zumba again tonight, so we will see how tomorrow goes..

Hope you are having a fantastic day!!..

Hey ladies!.

I had my weigh in and was down 1.6. One month from today is a big occasion. My husband and I will celebrate our 11th year of marriage, I will have been on Medifast for 5 months, and hopefully I will have lost ...50 pounds!!! I am 12.4 pounds away. It would be awesome, but I'm not stressing over it. If not that week then the next right?.

About me. I am 32, Stay at home mommy to an almost nine year old daughter, a 4 1/2 year old son and an almost 18 month old son. They keep me very busy. I also just started a boutique baby business making quilts, onesies, burp cloths, and bibs. I have just slowly packed on the pounds with each baby and decided enough was enough!.

The gutter- 37 pounds ago, it wouldn't have happened. I was running in the rain from the car to the bus stop and I stepped on the grate just so. My foot went between the grates and I stepped out and must have pulled something on the top. It is a little swollen and it hurts to put a shoe on or bend it certain ways. I am going to go to Bikram tonight- I think it may help it..

Keisha- I did a makeover for msn in NYC that was on their webshow called Beauty BFF. My episode was the first one this year, called "New Year, New You" It was so fun to have everyone fawn all over me, but having lived in Manhattan for a year and now on Long Island with the skinny mom club, I know the pressure you speak of. Have a great day everyone!..

Hello Autumn! You are SO close, I KNOW you will meet that goal!! I can't wait to celebrate with you. Do you and the hubs have special plans for the anniversary? How is your foot? Did the yoga help?.

I went to my 2nd Zumba class tonight - I really love it.

Tomorrow I am getting hair extensions, I can't wait!! I had really long extensions put in last summer for our vow renewal and absolutely loved them. At Thanksgiving, I chopped my hair into a pixie and have been growing it out since. So tomorrow, I am having shorter extensions put in while I am going through the growing out stage. I wish I could have the long ones again, but my hair is still too short..

Friday morning we are taking off for St. Louis to a pro Supercross race, I can't wait!! I am going to be wearing my 'hot' black boots with leggins and a long black sweater, I am super excited. Anyone else have fun weekend plans?..

My foot feels much better after yoga last night. Tonight marks my 30 days! I also found out if you do automatic withdrawal, it is only $45 nmonth one, the $120 per month. Much better on the budget. I am once again starving today! I really need to figure out how to tweak my food. I think I may do 4&2 for a week and see what it does to my weight loss/hunger levels. I would really like to keep my weight loss up.

Yesterday I ate my 5 MF, my L&G and then an additional cup of cottage cheese..

Our anniversary- we will take the kids to Parents Night Out at a local kid place, then go out to dinner somewhere and maybe a walk on the beach. That is the awesome thing about our neighboorhood. My little slice of the island is 3 blocks from bay to beach. The main road is restaurants and bars and little shops. It is all within walking distance..

I have never had hair extensions. I'm a pretty natural hair girl. I thought about doing something drastic to it a couple of weeks ago, I just don't know what..

I love St. Louis! I'm from Indiana and that was one of our favorite places to road trip!..

Hi Girls -.

Autumn.

- doing makeup on the non-talking heads is the most rewarding. In DC we don't get to do that very often so I'm JEALOUS of your experience at 30 Rock.

I hear you about Long Island moms'. I seriously think some of them, along w/ the upper east "sidahs" don't eat. Definitely tweak the meals around your bikram. I think that's a big source of your hunger. Glad to hear your foot is starting to feel better! Do you sell your items on Etsy.com? If not, YOU. SHOULD!!! It's a really great place to build a following and clientele outside of NY..

Janelle.

- your outfit sounds HOT! You should take pics. I'm jealy about the extensions! I wish I could get them. The BF likes me natural...

Keisha- I had to laugh! I lived on the UES for a year before moving here! I am in the process of setting up an Etsy page. I have a vendor sale at the end of the month, so I am trying to build my inventory for that. Then, I will list everything on Etsy. In the 3 days my Facebook business page has been up I have gotten three cutom orders already! Very exciting. I did Bikram again last night. I just love it! I NEVER thought I would enjoy sweating so much.

I may try it out over the summer. I want to run the Race For The Cure in honor of my friend Neva on September 18 in NYC. That is still my goal. Then , the next weekend... Barbados with the hubby!!! Can you tell I'm excited? I'm hoping to be at goal or very close to it by then...

Hi Ladies!.

Barbados sounds fabulous!!! What a great goal to work towards.

We are in St Louis, had a fun afternoon shopping. Funny how old habits die hard - I found this fabulous belt - all blinged out with silver and rhinestones - absolutely fabulous. Hubby was waiting and in a hurry, so I grabbed the XL. Got back to the hotel and it is HUGE on me, I am so bummed. I have it on the last hole, it would look so much better if I would have bought the smaller size. Oh well, lesson learned..

I am going to have to hit the hotel gym tonight. We ate at Pappy's Smokehouse, which is the best BBQ in St. Louis and has been on the Food Channel - I did really well, orderd the pulled pork with green beans. It was the BEST food I have ever eaten!! Unfortonatly, I am pretty sure the green beans were soaked in some kind of bacon or pork fat because they were SO delicious. So, I am hoping to do some damage control on the treadmill tonight..

Hope you are having a great weekend..

Hi Girls -.

Autumn.

- Can't wait to see your items. What's the biz called on FB? Several friends either have babies or about to have them, or are working on round 2. I'm very big on promoting other businesses, ESPECIALLY those owned by women. I know how tough and exciting it is to have it grow. I too am "jealy" of the Barbados trip. That's one of the few places in the Carib that I haven't been too.

As for the UES....my bff has launched an official "Bring Keish Back" campaign to get me back in NYC. I miss it tons, but also have some great things that have happend makeup wise for me here that I'm not sure would/will happen in NYC..

Janell.

- Glad to hear you guys had a great weekend in "The Lou".

I know what you mean about the belt. I purchased a patent leather one to wear to dinner and was torn between the medium and large. Against better judgement, I went with the large. Could you exchange it or take it to a Cobbler to see if they can add another hole? With regards to varying hunger - YES!!!! I go some days having to force myself to eat or atleast finish 1/2 of my meal. Other days? I'm like the puppy chow puppies.....face down...tail in the air.

I'm not quite sure why that is sometimes. It happens inspite of keeping things the same..

Me.

- UN.BELIEVABLY. SORE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm debating sleeping on my couch. I had my "assessment" training session with my new "trainer" (a woman in my bldg who's trying to start a training business). She is SOOOOOOOO what I need but I.Am.Hurting. LOLOLOLOLOL. She told me to be sure to get some cardio in before our next session on Monday because it is going to be challenging now that she knows what I can handle etc....PRAY FOR ME..

I had an excellent ground turkey breast burger with a romaine lettuce "bun" for dinner tonight. I didn't even feel guilty for the single slice of real bacon! Ok, maybe a little guilty..

Keisha- Lotus babygoods. I am so excited- I got my business cards in the mail today and am working on some packaging ideas tonight. I am going to be using various sized cakeboxes with the little windows! You will be able to see the fabric choices..

I am tired tonight, so I just had a brownie, will curl up on the couch and watch tv, and go to bed early. No sewing tonight!..

Hello, everyone! My name is Kate and I am recommitting to MF. I lost 87 pounds over 2 years ago, sabotaged myself when I was about 10 pounds from goal, went back to eating garbage and am now 10 pounds OVER where I started in the first place. I know Medifast works, so I'm back on all the way to goal..

Janell, when I read about you sabotaging yourself when you got close to goal, I knew this was the group for me. I like to post daily, so I hope you don't think I'm too chatty. You're thread name indicated that all are welcome, so I hope you don't mind me joining in..

A little about myself: I am a 40 year old happily married mother of 2 boys (9 and 12). I have been a teacher for 17 years (3rd grade, 5th grade and information technology in an elementary school for the last 7 years)..

Janell, I'm so sorry you lost all of your files. That was so not necessary. I wish I had joined your group earlier, so I could have helped you retrieve them before the re-clone of your hard drive..

I am also doing the Beck Diet Solution to help me work through some of my behavioral issues related to food. Today's task was to list reasons I wanted to lose weight. It's a long list, so I won't post them now..

I'm glad to be part of the group and would LOVE to participate in challenges if you guys do them..

Welcome Kate! I am a huge talker, so I post the same way I talk. A LOT..

Just got back from my first Bikram for a week. It was tough!! I honestly thought I was going to throw up for a second or two! That has never happened. I was so shakey when I left the class that I actually ate one of the apples they sit out for after class. I took the smallest one and it made me feel so much better. Of course, while I was in the surf shop by wax I started freaking out about the carbs. I just logged my food for the day and with doing a 4&2 today I will be fine.

On a very positive note- I am at -40 pounds now! I am almost halfway to my goal. Seven pounds from my lowest weight since my 1st baby was born. She will be nine on Tuesday..

We are doing a massive house cleaning this weekend. My mom and stepdad are coming for our Spring Break next week. Our house is a tiny little beach cottage, so adding two extra adults makes us a little crazy..

Have a great weekend all!..

105 degrees with about 40% humidity. 26 poses, two sets of each. It is very intense. You will walk out soaked in sweat. The classes are 90 minutes long. Medifast says 45 minutes per day, but I love this so much! I have always hated to sweat, but somehow, this isn't so bad.

I started the day I hit 199 and was sure I would be the fattest girl in the room. I wasn't. It isn't for everyone. I took my neighbor last week and she almost threw up. if you can stick with it it is amazing.

I am starting 4&2 today. I am just hungry all of the time. I know it is my yoga. I am going to try it for the rest of April and see how it goes...

Janell.

- I'm down for a challenge, just let me know what we decide. I'm ok with.

Kate's.

Suggestion as well. As for Easter, I haven't really given it much thought. We are going out so I plan to just stick with salad (dressing on the side) and some type of grilled protein. This weekend I managed to have brunch at Cheesecake Factory and stuck to just egg whites with spinach, one slice of wheat toast, coffee and tons of water with lemon. No dessert to go or anything : D.

Kate.

- WELCOME! I'm new to the bunch as well! They are great (as you already know)..

Amber.

- thanks for the biz card info! Sounds like you are going to have my kinda weekend. I had to help the BF do a thorough cleaning of his house b/c his parents arrived yesterday for the week. I still don't quite get how one person can manage to have so much "STUFF" in a townhouse! I hit the gym to do 1 hour of cardio but should've cut that in 1/2 because I burned even more once I got to his house to help out..

I'm reading the Dr. A's Habits of Health book (and the workbook) with my health coach. I feel like I have a whole new perspective on losing weight. For those of you who haven't read it, he has you work through the steps of writing goals and breaking them down, but not just a weight loss goal, a more comprehensive goal of achieving health. I think that working this through will be the difference with maintaining for me..

I know it sounds dumb, but when I did Medifast the first time and lost 90 pounds and reached goal, I had no plan for what to do after. I didn't think about how I would be eating for the rest of my life. I was so focused on reaching the goal that I neglected the rest. I went back to my poor eating habits and quickly gained it back..

This time, with help, I will be formulating a plan for the rest of my life and practicing the skills I need to achieve it during the weight loss phase..

It may sound so obvious to you, it does when I read it back, but this is eye-opening to me...

Hi! I am new here and have been looking for a little place on the boards to call home... You guys have a non-intimidating page count on your thread, so I thought I'd start here.

(And reaching goals is a great... well, goal... to have!).

Little about me... I'm Jaime, 27, getting married in November! I have two cats, Loki and Thor, who I rescued as senior cats from a shelter they had been at for 6 months. They are lazy old men but I love them.

I like to knit and to read... am a former English student... currently working FT at a sedentary research job and going to school PT in order to become a sonogram technician (talk about a career change)..

My weight loss goal is to reach about 145. I am really unsure as to what my goal *should* be... 145 is an assumption based on BMI. I've been overweight my whole life, and over 180 at least since high school. I am not sure of my SW and will find out in the morning, but it's somewhere around 210. So 65 lbs...

I received all my food today and am starting first thing in the morning! I look forward to getting to know you all! (Assuming I can find this thread again once I leave, I am not used to the navigation here yet! LOL)..

Hi Jamie! So glad you have joined us! Congratus on your wedding - how exciting!! Hubby and I have been married for 24 years, last summer we did a vow renewal ceremony in Florida (see profile pic) it was SO much fun!!.

If you have any questions, let us know, it can be a bit confusing in the beginning, but it won't take long for you to get the hang of it..

I have a Medifast group on facebook, it is private so no one sees our posts - which is awesome. If you want to join, send me a friend request. Janell Johnson Pottorff.

The Anytime Fitness finally opened so we went and signed up - they were supposed to open in Feb, but things got delayed. I am really excited to get started...

Janell, I'm an avid gamer and facebooker. I sent you a friend request..

You may want to block Mafia Wars and Farmville from your news feed, though. LOL..

Hey Kate, I used to play ALL of those, I have scaled down and don't much anymore. My new favorite is Gardens of Time, check it out!.

I hit 25 lbs today!! I am at the weight that, in the past, I have always stopped - got comfortable and started the sabatoge. NOT this time, I am moving on and am determined to hit goal this time! WOO HOO!..

Janell - WOOHOO on 25lb! I have a similar sabotage weight... It's frustrating to watch myself do it but I feel like autopilot turns on and back I go to my starting weight. But every time it happens we can make the choice that this time is different! Good luck and congrats!!.

Starting off day 2 over here. Day 1 was pretty good, my stomach was particularly upset at the small portions. Some meals I felt held me over longer than others. Dinner (LG) was the most luxurious feeling ever...... Getting to eat "real" food for a meal... In a generous portion size....

It was amazing. Tonight the man wants tacos, so I'll have a nice little taco salad and be happy..

Happy Friday..

Thanks Jaime! I have spent all week pondering on my sabatoge and talked to my sister about it last night. At t his weight, I feel normal - not huge, not obese, just normal. I am certainly not thin, but since I carry ALL of my weight in my middle, it is easy to cover up, so I look pretty darn good! I have a renewed hope, and strong resolve that I am going to finish it this time. I will never give up and that is the key!! I have learned to let perfection go and move past the all or nothing mentality - that is what is hardest for me. I am a work in progress, that is for sure..

I love taco salads, if you have some chili cheese puffs, you can put them on top of the salad and you wont even miss the tortilla chips..

Today was my first weigh-in day. I'm one day short of a full week, but I figure week 1 is probably the best week to do that..

I lost 13 pounds this week. Woo hoo! I stayed 100% on plan, including drinking all of my water and limiting my exercise. I love this program!.

Friday is my weigh-in day. What is everyone else's?..

CONGRATULATIONS KATE! That is fabulous!! What a great way to start the weekend!!! I am actually a daily weigher - sometimes I get too obsessed and have to put the scale away for a few weeks, but I love my scale.

I am about to enter a new 'decade' and get into numbers I have not been to, which is usually my sabatoge time, so I am going to have to re-think my daily weighing for awhile. I think it might be time to go into hiding..

It is raining and yukky here today, I am haning out in my jammies having a fun day on the computer with the dogs and kitties - good day!..

Wow, Kate, amazing!! What a phenomenal first week!!.

I started yesterday, so I suppose that makes me a Thursday weigher. I am trying REALLY hard not to be a daily weigher. I have never been able to not peek at my weight... and I let fluctuations affect me way too much. So this time I'm using all my will and resolve to stay OFF the scale except for once a week. We'll see how long that lasts!.

I had two Medifast meals very close to each other today... I had chicken noodle soup for lunch, and 20 minutes later found myself wanting more food. So I had a bag of puffs (those things are great!). I guess you're not supposed to do that, but I figure the alternative was worse (going off plan out of frustration). Of course the problem is I'll probably be SO hungry by the time LG time rolls around! Counting down the minutes!..

So, a little about me......

I just turned 45 on Christmas Eve, have been married to my sweetheart for 24 years, we have no children, 2 boxers and 3 kitties. Although we do not have children of our own, within the past year, my 26 year old nephew and my 17 year old nephew came to live with us. Many adjustments and challenges!!!.

I am a teacher and I teach kids who live in a residential rehab facility. I love my job and it's many challenges. I am finishing up my masters degree in special education, I will graduate this summer..

I have had much success with Medifast but have never allowed myself to reach goal. That may sound odd, but I seem to self sabatoge everytime I get close. This is my year to reach my goal! So, for all you newbies, ask any questions as I am an old pro at this!..
