, let's all chime in and say how we are doing. We have lost a bit of focusme as well! I have been on the road and then some....here is an update:.

I cannot believe how long it has been since I have had a moment to spare. Sigh. The end of the school year gets more and more filled with events each year I teach. May has barely begun and I have another event-ridden week to face beginning Monday..

Sadly, I do it to myself by sponsoring so many service clubs at our middle school, but I truly believe it is essential for our students to learn to give back to their schools and communities. That being said, how could I not do the same and set the example? LOL.

DH and I had a flying visit to the capitol of Wales this week. We basically drove there and drove back in a 24-hour period. The countryside was beautiful, architecture breathtaking, but time so limited that we did our admiration from the car only..

He has promised that we will try again at a later date to explore the city with it's many fascinating ruins and museums. The Cardiff Castle looked fantastic and they are advertising a jousting tournament! Of course, it is a weekend with plans already in place....sigh..

Even with the back and forth in the car, I have managed to stay pretty much OP. I dropped three pounds last week and hope for a like amount this week as well. The dreaded TOM is due soon. My goal is to make May my back on track monthas close to 100% as at all possible! April only saw a loss of 6 pounds due to all of the travel and having to go "off plan" due to the volcano..

With 27 pounds to go, I know I will most likely not make my June deadline. That doesn't mean I have quit. I will continue to strive for my goal of 140 until my doctor tells me to stop trying as I have reached the point where I no longer need to take meds. THAT is my most important goal, and I only say it here to reinforce to myself how important that one is. If it means going below 140, so be it..

Ciao,.

Thanks UK for the new thread.

And congratulations on the 3 pound loss, i'm right behind u......

Mary, all that matters is you r eating healthy since couple of days now and now just continue with that and don't let food interrupt with your sleep now, good luck....

Hope everyone else is pushing along well so far..

I'm actually doing pretty good after the minor surgery couple of weeks ago, back on track since then..

It has been a real busy this past week with my son's kindergarten orientation, mothers day celeb. at his school and all that stuff.....feeling frustrated and yucky with leftover bad Medifast food, my new shipment is yet to arrive next wednesday, grrrr........

DH asked me today as to what I wanted to do for mothers day, I don't want to do the usual go eat in a fancy restaurant which we have been doing since last 5 years, so I suggested him to go to an amusement park instead.....that way my two boys can enjoy their kiddo rides and I get to go on those big rides.

Atleast no food there to crave for.....

Ok flirts have a good OP weekend everyone, and yes lets make MAY make us feel proud of ourselves with all that Moulds of Melting.....

Good morning Flirts!.

Nice to see a new May thread up and running. Things are ok here - it is PMS time so no real weight is gone, only a small bit here and there. Still, it is better than my pre-diet PMS gain of 3-5 pounds so I'll just have to suck it up and be content. I seem to be in a stall of sorts, at least from the scale moving perspective. I do think I am shrinking though - my new jeans I just bought two weeks ago are starting to get loose. I might be moving down another pants size soon, which is motivating! Hope everyone is well and has a restful weekend ^^.

UKB.

: Nice to see you around! Congrats on the 3 pounds gone - you are almost done. Sweeeeet! Keep up the good work ^^.

Mary.

: Glad to see you! Hope everything is well in your world ^^.

Sony.

: Glad to hear you are feeling better and back on track - keep up the great work!.

Hello.

Elaine.

! Good to see you back again..

Flirts.

, it has been a slow dayI have sit home grading papers and just vegging on the coach. I even took a nap! Slowing down for the day has put me in a contemplative mood..

I think we need a challengeto check in each and every day this month! I know I have been lax over the last few weeks, and I want to hold myself more accountable. SO!.

Challenge to all.

Flirts.

Out there! Past, present, and future!.

Do your best to stay OP every day. Check in at least once each day. Be honest and forthcoming.

..

I am going to make.

SUNDAY.

My first day of the week and accountability day. I am going to do my best to weigh in each and every Sunday and report back here my.

Setbacks and successes.

I know that I can count on my online friends here..

That being said, I must own my BAD behavior as well. The last two days I have been OFF plan. I know that my TOM is coming soon, but I am not looking for an excuse. I am owning up to the magnitude of chocolate chip cookies I have indulgently mindlessly eaten over the last 48 hours..

I have been down. Part of the depression is missing my kids.....part missing my mombut ALL of it something I could have avoided by just getting busy and doing something else. It is MY OWN behavior, I own it, and now I need to figure out what I can do to change what I do when I am down..

Okay,.

Flirts.

! The challenge begins for me tomorrow! See you on the boards!.

So that being said tomorrow is the start of day 1 for me, i'll check in here each and every single day atleast once or more if possible and put out what I did/going to do for the day.....that way i'm more accountable and maybe that might keep be onboard......

Elaine, all I can say is thats an awesome decision u've made to recommit, goodluck..

Hinata, u've been doing awesome so far, don't worry about the scale slowing down, u'll soon see it moving again.

Tesera, hope you r doing allright, Mary hope you r also going well OP, have a good OP day everyone.....

This AM. It is about thirty dollars each for us to go.....and it is an open buffet (all you can eat). I almost wish I had told them we weren't coming.....almost. I will really miss them when they are gone. Getting through this brunch will be challenging, to say the least. I normally don't do well when I push the lean and green in the AM rather than the PM.

Good morning Flirts!.

Hope everyone is doing well, and having a fabulous weekend! Happy Mother's Day to all our moms - go out and have some fun, you certainly deserve it! I am down for the May challenge, and will try my best to stop by each day, even if it is just for a drive-by hello. I like this challenge - I think it will bring life back to our threads, which would be awesome!.

Anyway, not much to report here - scale still stalled, but it is PMS time, and TOM is always a challenge for me. I shall press on because given my caloric intake and exercise, there is no way I cannot be losing. Going to switch up the calories and type of exercise this week and see what happens. Might help me get rid of some of this excess water - darn bloat! lol At least I managed to get through a party on Friday night and not have any of the cake, candy, chips, or alcohol. I just had a Diet Coke. Yay!.

Elaine:.

Nice to see you back and about! Glad you are well, and ready to recommit! Awesome.

UKB:.

I agree with Sony, you look way less than 160's in your photo - looking fabulous! I am sorry your friends are leaving - that has to be tough. You can handle the buffet, no sweat. Maybe split your L&G today - some in the morning, some in the afternoon? This way you can enjoy the buffet and still have some wiggle room for eating a more filling meal later. Regardless, I have all faith in you to navigate this murky dining situation!.

Sony:.

Just saying hello! Glad to see everything is well with you - keep up that great work!.

Teresa:.

Hope you are well my friend, and the little one is doing great too! How is your 4 & 2 going? I am sure you re doing brilliantly!.

Good morning.

Flirts.

!.

Just stopping in with a drive-by post to say hello and wish everyone an awesome day! Nothing on the scale has changed now for a while, and this plateau sucks. Hardly seems possible to not have anything going numberwise given the exercise and caloric levels. Once again, I am not going to make my mini-goal I set for myself through no lack of effort on my part or any off-plan indulging. Ugh, so frustrated! My only positive is that I am down another pants size, which is good. Still, scale numbers motivate me more, so I hope it starts dropping soon!.

That's all I have for now - today is going to be a loooooong work day so I have to head out. Be well!.

Good day,.

Flirts.

!.

I am happy to report that I did not go to the brunch. No temptation there, BUT I did not resist the temptation of choc chip cookies and peanut butter.....sigh. With not enough water and serious sugar cal, I hit the scale at 174 Sunday morning. That is a gain of 8 pounds..

Okay..

Today has been OP. I still have one meal left, but I did not weigh in this AM. I have only drank 3 liters of water rather than my normal 4. I walked away from the appreciation breakfast put on by our PTO this morning and the appreciation lunch set out by our admin (which I contributed to as my DH is part of the admin wing). Before I pat myself on the back though, I did eat SF jello to keep myself from eating anything off plan during my LG. The carb cravings have been very bad..

Tomorrow, I will be supervising a breakfast put on by my student council/leadership group. We have two cases of muffins in a variety of flavors (all of which I love), and a couple more cases of juices. The students will be bringing in homemade items as well. Again, it will be a carb feast..

Wednesday is an ice cream social. Thursday is a taco salad luncheon. We are celebrating teacher appreciation week one week later due to conflicts with our internal schedule. This is definitely going to be a test of my determination! I am trying......sigh..

I was just telling DH about the mood swings. He believes I take them out on him. LOL Thankfully, it does not seem to be something my students are seeing..

It will be a successful OP day! Trying to remain optimistic..

No more food....we were going to so many friends' houses/shopping/playgrounds/ etc., that I had no time.....i could have had a few bars/puffs in my bag but I ran out of them.....by the time we got home it was too late and I just went directly to bed, and new shipment doesn't arrive until wednesday....so thats my story......

Good morning everyone. Thank you for the warm welcome. Yesterday was my first day on MF. I did really well, but woke up this morning with a hunger headache. Recall reading somewhere that the first 3 days are the hardest, which reinforces what I remember of previous hardcore weight loss attempts..

So this morning I am making sure I drink lots of water while staying OP..

Good for you for getting to the gym already, Hinata! I envy you that. I am so NOT a morning person. I have quite an intimate relationship with my snooze alarm. I tend to work out in the evenings. Good afternoon,.

Flirts.

!.

I made it though another day. Have to say, I definitely had some extra protein today. LOL One of my students brought in boiled eggs for our breakfast and I resorted to eating some of those rather than the yummy muffins and bagels that I wanted. LOL SF jello rounded out my LG so that I believe I am doing okay today. Still have a long way to go before bed tonight (and two meals left of the five Medifast meals)..

My mind is all over the place today. I have several different projects going right now, so I feel a little scattered and may not make sense heresorry about that..

Mary.

, once again thank you for the link. I probably forgot to mention it earlier, and your helping with that is important so that we don't lose anyone..

Hi.

Teresa.

..

How are you doing? I know you have mentioned having help with your little one and how that enables you to work out, etc. Are you still getting the help you need?.

Elaine.

, what a great gift for Mother's Day! DH tells me he is not my child so owes me nothing. I should show him that it doesn't work that way. LOL.

My sons forgot to call meor so I thought. According to them, they tried to get in touch and were not able to reach me. Of course, I had already plowed my way through three complete packages of choco chip cookies with peanut butter before finding this out and yeahput ON weight instead of losing it..

I know better. Recommitting is difficult. I AM going to get back into ketosis though. Determination will win out over those muffins, bagels, and ice cream!.

Sony.

I am with you about exercising in the morning. I think I need to give myself some time OP prior to starting that again though. Still fighting those hunger pangs because I have been waiting for 3 hours (or trying to) between meals as opposed to the 2. Gotta stretch it out so I have something for the evening with DH. Just don't have the energy in the afternoon / evening..

LG69.

, that headache is something to fight with water. Drink LOTS of water. I am still going about three liters a day rather than the four I should. Sigh. I always tell my students to watch that dehydration. It gives killer headaches!.

Hinata.

, I don't want to think of the number of bends I have missed! LOL I think the whole sum of who you are is trueI just don't always like the sum. Ah well..

I did a 10K about three years ago and then my weight started going up, up, up. I gained 110 pounds in 3 years, and that was on top of already needing to lose about 50. Ouch. Just typing that out hurts! What the heck happened to me?? I KNOW that we both can get back to that healthier time in our lives. And then some..

I'm definitely a compulsive overeater. Some people talk about this program being expensive, but if you add in the cost of all my food binges, I am probably coming out ahead by doing this! I promised my therapist that I would try WW for the group support, but WW gives me too much freedom. So I am going to try OA instead. There is a meeting tomorrow I can attend after work..

My headache has lasted most of the day, and I've drank a ton of water. I've stayed OP, though..

So far, it has been win-win - I don't eat the foods and they have an excuse to go buy a slice of cheesecake or whatever XD.

LibraryGoddess69.

: Way to dodge the pizza and popcorn! Hang in there - the headaches will pass. Just a few days of them and they will be gone. You are doing great! I have to ask: Are you a librarian? If so, lucky you! I have often considered going back to school to become a librarian. I just love books so much. Not e-books, Nooks, Kindles, or digital media - leatherbound or paper, tangible, books. I am a voracious reader though, always have been..

Jsh459.

: Welcome to the group! Nice to see another new face here. We are here to support each other through this process, so if you ever need to share successes or frustrations, please don't hesitate to post. You can do this! ^^.

Elaine.

: Awesome job making it to day 2 - so proud of you! Keep going my friend - you can totally do this and make it work!.

Sony.

: Congrats on Day 2 - awesome job! Well done on the 1.5 pound drop. Keep going!.

Teresa.

: Just shouting out a hello - hope you are doing well! How is the little one doing? Hope she is great too ^^.

Mary.

: Hello - hope you are doing well, and managing to hang in there! Just wanted to say hi ^^.

That is all for now - have a fabulous day everyone!.

UKButterfly, we had teacher appreciation last week, and so I know what you mean about all of the food. Good luck and know you can do it! What do you teach?.

Hinata, plateaus are frustrating. In past weight loss attempts, I always seemed to plateau at about 170. (What I wouldn't give to be plateauing at 170 right now, lol!) Best of luck pushing through it..

Yep, I am a librarian. A high school librarian. I love being a librarian, but it seems we get less respect these days in this time of the internet and computers. Also, with the economic insecurity, libraries tend to be one of the first things facing cuts. I have been thinking about going into deaf education. I lost a lot of my hearing to meningitis when I was 4 years old and even though I grew up in the "hearing world," I feel very comfortable with deaf people and would love to work with deaf children.

Yesterday was a really hard day, but at least I didn't wake up with a headache today and the hunger has abated drastically..

Wishing all of you a successful day!..

Flirts, I fell from the wagon with a vengeance tonight. It was ugly. A box of honey bunches of oats and I had a meeting of the ways! I thought, just a handful wouldn't hurt and before I stopped half the box was GONE! This while I was trying to cook for 65 teachers.....sigh..

Day one begins again tomorrowand I had almost made it through day three! I even bypassed the ice cream! NUTS!.

Onwards.....I need to follow the excellent examples you are setting for me here. I will endeavor to do better tomorrow..

Good morning Flirts!.

Wow, yesterday was a bad day - just full of stress and tension. By the end of the day, I had such a bad migraine I was practically blind in one eye from the pain. Ugh. And talk about food - stress is one of my biggest triggers for wanting to eat- tense situations always cause me to want to run for food. I seriously was more challenged with not eating bad food yesterday than I have been since I started. And to top it off, we had wings for lunch at work.

I finally just said "No" out loud and went outside and walked around the block. People must have thought I was crazy - walkiing up to the buffet and not getting anything while talking out loud to the food. Oh well, I dodged the wings!.

LibraryGodess69.

: Working with the deaf is an awesome idea! Maybe you can find a way to combine this passion and your library skills to carve out a career? Maybe you could start a program encouraging deaf children to read - an activity like that would be awesome for all children, but would really help forge a community for deaf children and give them a place where they really feel safe and included. Just spewing out ideas here lol.

UKB:.

1/2 a box of cereal is no biggy - it is behind you and today is a fresh day! Look how well you have done latey - I mean honestly, when *haven't* you had to dodge some kind of food temptation or challenge this past week or so? Buffets, Mother's Day, School meals and events involving food - jeebus, you have done exceedingly well given all of that!.

I have a friend who is a runner and he always says "The last mile is the hardest" - you get so far into the marathon that near the end, you are exhausted, and just want to stop. This is the moment in the race that one has to dig deep, deeper than ever, and keep going..

I think it is the same for weight loss - you are doing this and so close to goal! You are in your "last mile" of this plan, so dig deep, and press on my friend. I can only imagine how amazing and overwhelming and scary it is to almost be done. You have the strength and determination to do this. You are about to cross that finish line to your goal. Press on and keep going - the rest of us may not be near that finish line yet, but in this "marathon" we are running behind you and we all have your back..

Anyway, hope you all have a great day!.

I'm so sorry that both.

UKB.

And.

Hinata.

Had tough days yesterday and am hoping today is better for both of you. I've done okay with the food temptations that have come my way, but I know that won't always be the case. I have events on the horizon that are already causing me stress because I know I will be dealing with culinary temptations. I guess we all have to remember that the important thing is picking ourselves up and persevering. I have a friend I met in AA who always said, "We can start our day over anytime." It's a mindset I still struggle with, but one I think is important to have. Not letting the slip be an excuse for a full-fledged binge..

I weighed myself this morning and in 3 days, I've dropped 9 pounds. I know most of that is water, but darned if it didn't feel exhilarating to see that big of a drop with 4 days still left in my first week!.

Today should be an easy day with little temptation <knock on wood>. I hope everyone has a fabulous day!..

I'm still stretching and hopping around hanging in there, it was a very rough day today, was out since 8 AM taking my boys to the dentist, running errands, grocery shopping.....i got home at 1PM and having a terrible terrible headache right now, to top it all off my boys are cranking me up right now.

Hello.

Flirts.

..

Well. Today was totally.

OFF plan.

I woke up at 0330 and have been nonstop going ever since..

I have carbed all day due to stressyes,.

I am a stress eater.

Because I faced one of my biggest challenges today..

I was interviewed for District Teacher of the Year..

By the end of it, I was just relieved that it was over. I felt like I had royally messed it up. I ended up eating muffins like there was no tomorrow..

I have a lump in my stomach from that and the taco salad I ate for lunch followed by hot wings, fries, and brownies with ice cream for dessert. Dinner was something I really wanted followed the the dessert I have avoided over the last seven months. I did not have any medifast meals today at all. You see,.

I was celebrating.

Did I mention I won the award? LOL.

I have never been honored in this way before and I went major OVERBOARD with the calories! Yes, I will pay the price in the morningwillingly! I do NOT want to gain this weight back as I will be traveling to DC for an award week at the White House and Smithsonian. Wow. Just thinking about it gives me pause. Me. Being honored in Washington DC. Yeah.

I want to be slim. I do not want to embarass myself at this award ceremony. I have a video that I have to write, produce, and act in as well as professional photos that have to be taken. I really want to not be ashamed of how I look. Medifast and I are going back to best buds in a quick hurry so that I can reach goal, stay there, and maintain. Talk about reasons for staying OP!.

For today though? Well. God will forgive me for being human. I hope my friends here will also?.

Stay OP my friends. And know that I am human, and sometimes fall down just like anyone else. It is going to be a busy summer..

Thank goodness it is Saturday - wow, this week was stressful and busy. I am just going to rest and recover for the next two days. Maybe there is something fun to do here that doesn't cost money - trying to save my cash these days. I also need to mix up my exercise plan, but not sure what would be good. What type of exercise do you all do, and for how long? Also looking for some ab exercises too since that is where I carry most of my excess weight. All suggestions are welcome!.

Good morning!.

UKB.

, good luck on an OP day! I know you can do it, and I have to say I appreciate your honesty. I've been wondering if I can be as honest if I slip. I found myself thinking "no one has to know if I go OP" and that is a slippery slope..

Hinata.

, I hope you have a restful weekend. As far as exercise goes, right now I am so heavy that I can't even imagine worrying about toning my abs, but I know I will get there one day and hope that you find a good workout for that so you can share!.

I have heard that Taebo is good for the abs and I have a fondness for the Firm series from a healthier time in my life. The Firm series has an abs workout. Although even then I had 40-50 pounds to lose and I've always carried weight in my stomach so I can't attest to anything on a personal basis that really shapes up your abs! I will probably never have a six pack, and never did, even at my lowest high school weight of 108 pounds! Anyway, you can check out the Firm abs workout on Amazon and read the reviews..

Currently I am doing a lot of treadmill workouts, some yoga and I just got the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD. I also belong to a gym that I really need to start using more, if only to do weight training. It also has an ArcTrainer that I really enjoy. I started working out again in mid-March so I got a bit of a jump where exercise is concerned..

I'm sitting here sipping on my chicken and wild rice soup. It occurred to me this morning that it is actually kind of luxurious to be able to eat 6 times a day. I certainly never allowed myself to eat 6 times a day in the past. I had a pattern of undereating until I was starving and then going on a binge. I was always trying to purge..

I'm so happy that I started Medifast and hope you all have a lovely Saturday..

UKB.

, congrats again on your award!..

Hello Flirts, hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

UK, good to hear you r back OP, whoa.....what a stressful week you had this past week, but glad to hear that it's all over....

Librarygoddess, you r right, even I had that feeling a few times, it's actually a real luxury to have 6 meals a day.

, i'm so glad that this is actually working realistic for me to take off that baby weight after the birth of my second baby in 2006, i'm a proud MF'er...BTW, how did you like Jillian Michaels 30day shred? It has occurred to me a few times to buy it but had a second thought if it was a waste of money....

Hinata, enjoy your weekend relaxing.....hmmm about the exercise, well....mine is pretty much simple & straight forward, 30-45min briskwalk on treadmill 3-4 times/week, 10-15min on a bike, and few yoga stretches occassionally....though i've to admit that it's been few weeks since i've done any....getting kind of lazy around here after the surgery.....

Have a great OP weekend everyone.....

Dear.

Flirts.

,.

Well, last week saw a.

Gain of 14 pounds.

(weight measured Sat. AM) Most of it was water as I just did not manage to get in all of the water I needed. Some of it was.

Otis Spunkmeyer muffins.

And the rest was the sweets sent in by our awesome PTO. I was so nervous and happy and just plain "I want some!" Sigh..

I was.

100% OP yesterday and saw a loss of five pounds.

(weight measured Sun AM.).

Doncha just love Medifast?.

LOL.

Exercise..

Hinata.

, what can I say? My DH coaches a women's softball team, and plays on the men's varsity team. He is trying to quit, but finding it difficult to give up. At 59, he is the oldest on the team and worried about injuries. The ball is moving faster and faster with the new improved bats for softball. I am more concerned about his health when he stops playing as most of his exercise comes from the games he is in....Perhaps he will dust off those golf clubs I bought him about seven years ago and actually use them? We shall see....as for me? Well. I have a treadmill that I haven't used in over a month now.

I am not waking up early enough to get it all in. I am hoping to get back on track soon as I felt so much better when I was walking every morning. As for abs....hmmmm...while I was in PR I saw an ad for something called the AbCircle? It looked promising....I thought about checking out one of those..

Flirts.

, on another thread we have been discussing other needs. I know it is not October and breast cancer awareness month, but thought a reminder would not be remiss here. I have been getting mammograms since I was 30 (off and on). I wanted a baseline for comparison in my records. Since 40 they have been yearly. It is a good habit to be in.

It can be swift so make sure you are checking yourself in between yearly visits as well. For DH, remind him to check for prostate difficulties. It can also be insidious.....Showing my gray hair here. LOL.

Doing my best to stay OP again today. Had and have a bit of a headache so may have to resort to some caffeine ala coffee. DH took me to the bazaar yesterday and purchased a one-of-a-kind amber necklace from one of my student's parents. He also got me matching earrings. It is a nice gift to remind me of this past week's fifteen minutes of fame, and goes with the amber pendant I wore for luck during my interview (my sons bought it for me in PR.) I will try and post a picture soon of these items. 6 months ago I would not have been able to wear the choker as my neck would have been to big.

The sun is shining. I am hoping for a beautiful day outside with DH doing a bit of gardening. Maybe a bit of "spring" cleaning inside as well. Stay OP,.

Good morning.

Flirts.

!.

Today is a good morning for me - a really good morning! Hopped on the scale and it finally budged downward, thank goodness! More importantly, it is at 213 now. That means.

50 pounds are gone.

- wheeeeeee! Now, onto the next 50 pounds. I hope that I can keep the numbers going down for a while before I hit my next plateau of sorts. My body, I have noticed, tends to do that though - will drop 3-5 pounds then not budge for a week or so. Then it will drop 3-5 more, then no scale movement. It is beyond frustrating particularly since I am not off my plan. Oh well, this is beyond my control and just how it goes for me.

Thanks for the feedback on exercise - I heard that crunches on an exercise ball work well for abs, so I might try that. I'll let you know how it goes, though I don't anticipate any results for at least 6 weeks. I haven't seen that AbCircle, but I will check that out too!.

As for the breast cancer reminder, it is always good to have yourself checked out regularly. Both for that, and regular gynecological exams. I know they are not particularly fun exams, but they are necessary and if anything intrusive is caught early enough, the survival odds are incredibly high these days. Besides, as I say to my doctor, I don't care if you have to squish my boobs or dig all up in my hoo ha for samples, just don't look at my fat belly ok? XD.

Be well!.

, what kind of surgery did you have to have, if you do not mind my asking?.

UKB.

, the amber jewelry sounds so pretty, and how nice that you will have it as a memento of such a special time. Crazy about the 14 pound gain in such a short time, though. I'm going on a cruise in June and I will have to remember how fast the weight comes back! Glad you are already on your way to getting it back off..

Hinata.

, congrats on getting past your plateau! In the past, I've tended to lose in spurts as well, but it is terribly frustrating to be doing all you know you should be doing and not seeing results..

My end of week one official weigh-in is tomorrow. I'm very excited. I've been weighing all week, which I don't really want to do, but couldn't seem to help myself, and I am down 13 pounds! How crazy is that? Of course, I started very high - 286 - and the heavier you are, the more it tends to come off quickly in the beginning. This coming week I know the weight loss will slow down and I plan to put my scale in my closet until it is time to weigh again because I know myself well enough to know how frustrated I will get if I check daily and don't see progress!.

Gotta dash!..

Congratulations on the loss.....though I guess the weight that we lose in the first week on Medifast is mostly water.......about the surgery, almost a month ago I had to go to emergency to get a tiny winy cyst removed, I had this severe pain in the midnight not sure what that was and then doctors found out that it was just a small cyst smaller than a pea and had it removed, I had never even imagined that I would have that one, anyway I was offplan cuz of that for couple of weeks during recovery, didnt gain much weight though during that time, and now i'm totally back.

Thanks for asking....

This work week started off bad for me, and given certain issues, I expect it will only go downhill from here. Dang - and after the multiple fiascos of last week, I really wanted a calm and straightforward week too. Times like these challenge me so much as naturally I am more tempted to relieve the stress by grabbing junk foods - I am a stress eater. Lately I have been daydreaming about doughnuts lol. I am avoiding them of course, but there are times I have to get up and walk around the building to get my mind off it. Still hanging in there though, so I shall press on! Goodmorning Flirts....happy tuesday......

Tesera good to hear from u.......

UK, i'm soooo glad you raised that up cuz lately even I have been thinking abt getting some exercise back into my schedule....this buddying up sounds like a good plan except that i'm not an early morning person, i'm real busy getting kids ready for preschool, making b'fast, sending DH to work etc.......my usual routine used to be in the mornings when kids r at school, around 9-10 maybe, if thats still allright then we can start right this week.....and oh from june 4th onwards they'll go on summerbreak so then maybe I can start early......i used to be an active member in another exercise thread and it used to keep me right on track and accountable to others and slowly that thread died and so did my motivation......i'll be sooo glad if we start this cuz atleast i'll be accountable and that'll kick my butt up.....

Hola.

Flirts.

!.

Theresa.

, glad to meet another bookworm! Congrats on your first day!.

UKB.

, I am trying sooo hard not to slip. I'm in that mentality now of, "I've lost x pounds, so I deserve a day off." Ugh! I've done pretty well of "staying in today" and that has helped beat it. Just for today, I can and will stay OP!.

Hinata.

, I'm so sorry to hear about all the stress. Good luck navigating the rough waters..

As for exercise, I'm not a morning exerciser, but I do workout 5-6 days a week. Treadmill is my weapon of choice. I have a very nice one and it can do hill workouts and stuff. But I tried Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred on Sunday and she killled me. I'm SO sore. As soon as the soreness ebbs, I'll do it again. I'd be happy to buddy with anyone who wants me...

Sounds good,.

Sony!.

I know you won't be walking with me (same time)but just being held acountable and doing my walk with somone helps..

Broke out the brownies last nightand I don't mean the Medifast ones either. sigh. It's like I can't be left alone for any period of time without eating here lately..

More time on the computer is in order I think....maybe I can catch some of you in the chatroom? Are you on Facebook for a chat? How about aol? sigh. Gotta talk myself out of this slump!.

Hinata,.

The gravel would have worked, I think, if I had known it was there..

Just didn't think to read before I ate too much! Went for a haircut after work and waited too long before eating thus overate and then didn't stop. Kicking myself this AM. ONE meal, ONE day at a time..

Day one. Today. OP! I can do this...

Hey everyone!.

UKB, you are soooo close to goal! Don't quit now! Remember what you said to me about slipping and how hard it is to get back on track. Don't let it conquer you!.

Hope everyone is doing okay today. I'm fine. Busier week than I thought. School libraries tend to get quieter towards the end of the year, but I've had a lot going on..

This is Day 10 on Medifast for me. I've had some really intense moments of craving fattening foods, usually brought on by sight or smells, but have persevered..

I'm wondering when my TOM will show up. It's been mildly erratic lately as I get older!..

Hi Everyone,.

I've been all over the place this week. But today is my best chance for success as my husband is taking our daughter out and I don't have to go near the kitchen for lunch or for any reason..

I decided to do an all shake day. I think it may be just the thing to get this party started..

UK - I am so sorry you've been struggling. If there's one thing I know about, it's how hard the re-start can be..

But I have to tell you that I wish so much that I had stopped the gain much earlier. Every time I tried to start and went off, I would binge instead of eating normally. I don't know what's really going on for you, but if I can help in any way, just let me know..

For sure, just get exercising again. It will make a world of difference. It could keep you steady until you can start losing again..

Sony, I'm thinking of you and your little one. I hope it all goes as painlessly as possible for both of you!.

LibraryGoddess - You're doing great. Don't look back. There is no stronger or better time to get this going than your first start. Congratulations on your success so far. It's going to be a great summer..

Hinata, I really hope work lightens up for you. You are amazingly strong sticking to your plan. I'm so glad you're getting results. You're just a breath away from being under 210! Thanks for all your well wishes..

And of course, your wonderful quotes..

Elaine and Mary, I'm thinking of you both. We will all succeed as long as we keep trying. It's just a matter of time. The time will pass no matter what, so we might as well be thin at the end of it..

I am spending today cleaning out my daughter's playroomHad to wait until she would be away as she's decided she doesn't want anything clean and she would drive me crazy if she were here..

Yesterday I actually finally put away Christmas decorations. That's about how far behind I am on things....

Take care everyone..

Yeah Sony! You made it through a really difficult day. That's something to be proud of..

Well, any day on Medifast is something to be proud of, isn't it?.

I am really struggling with not just hating myself for failing at this every single stinking day..

But, I have to just keep trying. Keep trying to re-focus.. because when I stop trying, I gain..

At least a day that is mostly medifast is a day I won't.

Gain.

Weight..

Why was it possible the first time and so difficult now? Why can't I just make this choice and stick with it? I know what makes it hard.. I'm stressed, live is overwhelming, care-taking, trying to start a business, trying to run a household....

But, so what? Everyone has stuff and I was able to do it before even wtih all that stuff..

What makes the difference?.

Sorry for blabbing on..

Well, it ain't over til it's over, right?.

Take care everyone,.

This could definitely be me talking over the last two weeks. I am hoping that today / tonight will be the final push so that I can concentrate on me again and get back on track. Every day I wake up thinking I can do this, and each evening I berate myself for failing to accomplish what I set out to do. Sigh..

Hinata.

, it hasn't been a great week here in the UK. I am so glad it is nearly over! Please get your rest and take spendid care of your self this weekend..

Sony.

? I haven't started walking yet. I hope to start either today or tomorrow, but it will depend on getting some work-related things accomplished first. I am hosting our end of the year party tonight at a restaurant and am in charge of the entertainment. Ooo boy. I am NOT an entertaining person, and struggle when in the limelight..

LG.

, I do remember about the slope. I wish I had never fell off the first time..

Maybe it will be better when my new box arrives? I have GOT to figure this out! I am thinking of taking a blender to workbut then have to figure out HOW to get my ice there for shakes. My little freezer at work doesn't really keep things cold..

Ah well,.

Flirts.

, I have a busy day today as I go plan and execute what I hope will be a successful celebration of two retirements and a completed (almost) school year. Thank you for all the kind thoughts! Together we can lose this weight!.

Good morning.

Flirts.

!.

Just stopping by to say hello before work. I wish I could take a sick day, but I have some very important meetings today, so I am just loaded up with cold meds and hopefully I will make it OK..

I press on with my plan, though the weight has stalled again. Of course - there is no consistent weight loss for me on this plan - neither OP or modified plan. I told you I wouldn't make my goal of being under 200 by end of May. It never works for me. At this point I am beyond frustrated and going back to my doctor - I fear something is not right with my body. One simply cannot be burning an extra 1100 - 1900 calories a day and NOT lose weight.

Something has to give. I will let you know what my doctor says. I am depressed at this point, and my morale is low..

On a positive note, however, I managed to incorporate running into my treadmill work out. I haven't run since I was 14 and forced to run a mile in gym. I have worked up to being about to run 40 seconds without stopping. This is a *huge* victory for me and I am going to keep adding a few seconds each week until I can run for 5 minutes. It might not be a marathon, but it is getting there!.

Anyway, take care of yourselves and have a great day.

UKB.

: So glad to see the slope isn't winning! Keep on going - you are doing great!.

Sony.

: Nice work getting back on that treadmill! Go you go! ^^.

Teresa.

: Please stop hating yourself - you are an amazing woman. You are more valuable and important than to beat yourself up over this. Perhaps you just have not found the nutritional path that works best for you. Keep working to refine your eating habits and figuring out what *does* work for your body. We are all here to support you as you need it, so please do not hesitate to reach out for support..

Hello My Lovely Friends,.

Thank you all for the support! I knew it was there all along..

Mary, Let's find our way back. I've gained too. Actually, about 16-18 of the 30 I lost. Trying not to be sick about it because that doesn't help. I made a new chart for myself and I think that will help to motivate me. I have to look ahead and keep my eye on that prize..

Also, I figured out today that I think I've simply gotten into a "Habit" of eating off plan. I hardly even fight it anymore. The voice that says, "I want that" is just so loud and I had stopped talking back to it. I am focusing on strengthening the voice that says, I want health and to lose weight..." Also, instead of feeling dejected, like a poor sad sack who can't eat what she wants, I'm consciously making myself think (or say out loud if no one is around...) Yeah!! I get to make the choice to stay on plan. I rock! I am a goddess and I am in control of my choices. I choose to feel good today!!.

Dorky, I know, but it seems to help..

Mary, I know you're dealing with deep grief and I can't really know how that element plays in for you personally. I wish I could help with that. I send my love..

And I'm here to join you on the road back to health and weight loss!!.

Hinata, I'm sorry you've been sick. I hope your day and week go well. I'm glad you're going to your doctor. You should absolutely be losing more on your plan. Maybe it's hormonal....

Thank you so much for your kind words and our continual support. I can't tell you how much it means to me..

UK - hurray for one day OP!! You're probably mostly through day two by now... You know how to do it. You certainly did it well for a very long time..

I am trying to tap back into my brief time OP becasue I felt like I was a superhero. It was so "possible". I think about the things I resisted.. Actually it wasn't even so much like resisting, I just knew what I wanted and chose..

I'm rooting for you..

I think I may make a second ticker too....

Sony, take care and keep up the good work!!.

Hi All,.

I went to the gyno today. Just routine, but we're going to do bloodwork to see what these hormones are doing..

I also got a brochure for a diet doc in the building. It looks good. I may have a consult and see what he has to offer (and how much it is). He does Medifast, so it might work and he might just have some other ideas too..

I always think I should just be able to do it on my own, but I'm not getting it started and maybe having the weekly visit to look forward to will help me focus..

Hmmmmm......

UK - have fun with your stargates!! we finally got the tv/dvd in the gym so I can start watching stuff too. I stopped watching stargate when the killed off Daniel. I was actually so traumatized I practically went to therapy. That is not good. I know he came back to life, but I was already gone... I have a lot to look forward to..

Teresa, if that following up with the doc makes you accountable and helps in reaching your goal, I think you should go for it....sometimes things doesn't work out as planned for us, so we have to twist it & turn it however way possible to make it work for u, I think thats a wonderful idea....keep us posted..

UK, look at u!!! U r already at half way mark of what u've gained, great job....just be strong and OP this memorial day weekend and don't let food derail all the efforts that u've made to get into ketosis this whole week....i'll keep an eye on ya.

That keeps me wondering how i'll be able to manage the long weekend myself.

I'm in solid ketosis right now(thats the fruit of hard work that I did last weekend) and I know how much struggle that was to get back into it initially, I don't want to blow off in the weekend and again go thru that initial process again, thats it for me now i'm sick of playing on and off of ketosis.....

Good morning,.

Flirts.

!.

SooooooHappyIt's Thursday! LOL.

I just got selected for a week-long trip to CA! It will be the first week in August, and I am looking forward to my firstever journey to the west coast..

Las Vegas is the furthest west I have been up to now, so this will be educational. In addition, I get to learn more about a great program. Hopefully, I will be able to apply more of it's precepts in what I do with my classes. We shall see..

Teresa.

, trips to professionals can be helpful sometimes. I hope this works out for you. I know you have been struggling for some time and have tried a number of things..

One of the threads I was browsing made a suggestion which startled me a bit. Many of us have difficulty staying with our program because of the "kid" food we have around for our family. They suggested that.

We are teaching our children poor habits even as young as one or two when we feed them only high carb/sugar/fat foods, and should train them from a young age to reach for that carrot stick rather than a potato chip..

With the increase in child obesity across the United States, I wonder if there isn't some grain of truth in that statement? Yes, they may like mac'n cheese best, but shouldn't we encourage them to eat broccoli or cauliflower? How about zucchini? Or eggplant? Perhaps a candy bar is tastybut so is an ice cold mango (frozen chunks can sometimes beat out ice cream for me!) or crisp apple with a touch of peanut butter..

I have asked my own DH to help me with the struggle I am now having in losing the remainder of this weight. He has taken his cookies to work! LOL His co-workers have been sharing them with him so he is not tempted to just eat them all at one go..

It seems to be the best of both worlds. Here at home, I would be tempted to eat them or he would have to eat them all himself! Sometimes DH puts me off with his harshnesstoo much of the stick and not enough of the carrot!.

Need to find a good website for thread. I have a bunch of alterations I need to do and need more colors of thread than are currently available to me at my local BX. I browse at Lionyard for yarn, but having found a good place for material or thread yet. Anyone else out there like to sew? (Or, like me, don't want to spend a lot of money on clothes when you can alter the ones you already have to fit better?).

Sony.

, I don't think I have reached ketosis yet.....still struggling with the Medifast snacks a bit. Last night was better thoughmaking progress slowly..

Hinata.

, my friend, where is our daily quote? Definitely missed seeing them this morning! LOL I like that they make me think. I hope this week is going better for you..

I have summer school letters to get out this week. I realize that the school year is not over yet for me (7th grade), but I need to gear up and get ready to teach my little ones for the summer in the next week as we start immediately after school is out! Maybe it is a good thing DH could not get me a ticket for this weekend. I should get some work done!.

Have an OP day,.

Good morning Flirts,.

I wish I could tell you this week is going better for me, but it is not. Still busy as ever, and still no weight loss on the scale. Despite being on my plan, the weight is not going. I do not eat more than I burn and I haven't touched a refined carb, sugar, or anything not on my plan. I do not over-exercise. I wish, at least mentally, you all could understand what it is like to consistently hit plateaus on this diet.

Sometimes people go off plan and gain a bit, but it seems to come off in a week or two. Not for me. I might lose a few pounds here and there, but then it stalls and stops for weeks on end. Even my doctor doesn't have a good remedy at this point as to why I have struggled, more than most, this whole time to stop these 2-3 week plateaus that I have consistently hit on this diet. She took some blood samples to check for hormonal imbalances, so we'll see if that could be causing some of this weight loss resistance..

At this point, my doctor wants me to try Atkins for a few weeks, just the induction to see if a super low carb diet might kick start my weight loss again. After a couple of weeks, I will ease back into Medifast products to test my carb sensitivity. Not sure yet if I will do that, but it might be worth exploring. I have no other options I can think of at this point..

Anyway, hope you are all well and have a great day!.

Thank you for your kind words my friend! I have no intention of leaving this group, Medifast or not lol. Even if my doctor puts me on an all meat diet I will be around! Just having friendship and a safe place here keeps me hanging in there - I get all the support I need. Thank you all for that.

First day in a three day weekend! Just spent two hours doing a serious spring clean on the bathrooms (yes I realize it is only 0400 but I can't sleep right now!), and thought I would pause and say.

Good morning, Flirts.

! LOL.

Three weeks of school left! I have an online graduate course due this week..

Need to write a couple of essays.....also have some essays and speeches to write for the TOY stuff. My deadline is not so close for those though, so I should be okay. Yesterday was dreadful, Medifast wise. I ended up stuck in a kitchen eating things I should not with my students. I will do better today after I go to bed and get caught up on my dreamng. LOL Tired now....been up a while.

Painball? I guess paintball could be painful! Good thinking.

Sony.

!.

Hinata.

, I hope you had a great time..

? How about you? Anyone else out there lurking? Would love for you to chime in!.

Ciao!..

Good morning Flirts!.

Finally, movement on the scale! Maybe I should play paintball for 4 hours every day! Scale down to 210 which makes me happy, so I will take it. Any movement down at this point is awesome. I'm 11 pounds from a weight beginning with a 1 - how exciting! I haven't been this low a weight for 17 years. Feels a bit overwhelming but good. As always, I press on despite the stupid plateaus..

Today I am heading out to Fanime, an anime convention! It is always loads of fun to go and see the people in costume and just hang out with my team and have a great time. I'll let you all know how it went when I get back>.

Sony.

: Thanks for the kind words - glad I have the acceptance and support of this group regardless of what diet my doctor puts me on. You ladies and gentlemen help me stay focused and on track despite the challenges I am having. I am so grateful!.

UKB.

: Yay for a 3 day weekend! And for clean bathrooms LOL! Hope you have some time to rest and relax and enjoy your time off. Your support has meant the world to me lately and really helped me release the frustration I have been feeling. Thank you so much for that.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!.

Dear.

Flirts.

,.

I work for the armed forces..

Each day, I look at the smiling (sometimes) faces of my students and see children who every day face the possibility of losing a loved one in our struggles as a nation. Sometimes the struggle is environmental (the oil spill); sometimes it is due to terrorismbut overall, I can see the price each and every one of them has paid for the freedoms we all enjoy..

I want to tell you how proud I am of our militaryactive duty, family members, and civilian employees..

I hope to visit the American Cemetary tomorrow here in the United Kingdom and pay my respects. Each year I buy a poppy (re: In Flanders Field) in remembrance of those who have paid the ultimate price. In my own small way, I do my best to honor those who serve..

Please take a moment and thank those you know who have served, have lost someone in service, or find another way to remember.....you won't regret it..

The barbeques are nice..

OP is better.

Take care, my friends..

Ciao,..

Hello future flirts!.

My name is Barbie, and I'd like to join your group :-) I am 48, married, 2 kids ages 27 and 23. I have 2 dogs (one that qualifies as a horse!) and 2 cats. I am an unemployed teacher working at IRS and am still not sure what I want to be when I grow up.

This is not my first time with mf, but more like my 3rd. Last summer I had lost 30 pounds with mf, but lost my job and had to cut back on expenses...unfortunately Medifast was one of them. I have since gained back the entire 30 pounds (thank goodness I did not gain more!) and I am making a go of it again. I ordered a bunch of food today, so when it gets delivered, I will be back on my way to losing those same 120 pounds..

I look forward to meeting all of you as well as on my way of being a future flirt!.

Have a great OP day!!.

Barbie..
