First question I got is Can you substitute baking soda for baking powder in baking Medifast recipes? Looking forward for any answer or 2. Another question... "I, RickyDee, pledge to weigh [Saturday morning at 9 am, at a meeting, or Drs Appt] ONLY.".

Well I woke up in my usual stupor and perfunctorally disrobed to weigh in. ZING! Suddenly my pledge came in to my mind, and it was like a switch flipped. I redressed and proceeded about my business!.

So far, so good!.

Isn't it amazing that it is easier to commit to a pledge on eating, than it is to weigh on a healthy schedule? I get you, totally!..

I'm already there RD....but love the thought. I am a huge supporter of weighing only once or month or at the Dr. Appts. We KNOW if we are following the program, and the weight is a welcomed reward...but for me , at least, too much attention to the numbers has frustrated me , more than excited me...

I'm just starting out so maybe things will change but I couldn't care less what the scale says.. I don't actually own one, there is a medical scale @ work though that I will check sometimes. And yesterday I had to sneak into work to get something and when I got home I was shocked I didn't even think to check my weight here at the end of my first week! :)..

Im with Flmom on this one. In the beginning the scale would frustrate me. I was weighing myself daily. I refused to be defined by a number on the scale. My focus right now is set on getting in my.

Exercise.

, protein, water, and enjoying life..

I know that Im keeping it real, staying compliant, and Im working my tool to the best of it's abilities- -the weight will come off..

I have an appointment at the end of this month and will post how much I have lost. Weighing in is like sex- -the anticipation is too great....lol..

Oops...This may be more challenging than I thought. Apparently a healthy BM is a trigger to weigh.....

I don't own a scale (thank goodness), and I have no intention of buying one after my.

Surgery.

No sense in driving myself crazy over the numbers on a home scale that may not even be accurate, so the pledge will be easy for me..

Hugs to all,.

I am officially amending my pledge, rather than lie to you about it....

I can't do it.

Cold turkey.

, especially when I am gaining weight..

I recommit to sticking to my first A.M. weight, which goes directly to my computer vs the roulette I was playing, weighing three or four times a day and picking the lowest weight....

Yeah, I know it's a compromise, but it is what it is.....

I cannot give up my scale. It sits and stares at me when I go to sit on the potty. I stare back and whisper sweet words of encouragement..

But I do not stand on it everyday. not anymore at least. Maybe...and I say maybe...twice a week. To ask me not to look to weigh in again til I go back to the doctor is asking me not to weigh in til February. Do you honestly think that is gonna happen? come on now, get for real..

I do not however, have a scale obsession. I do not freak out by whatever the scale reads. Not ever...I did get excited when I came out of my first plateau recently however. It only took a year to reach the first one, so I had tried to be patient and let it ride it's course. man that was a long 3 weeks. so now I am back on a pound a day thing again...it helps to have been moving my whole house from one city to another...especially once they dumped it all in the new house, I have done most everything else by myself, minus putting the furniture in place.

I won't lie, I was on the scale this morning, but it is the first time since I got here. I try my best to limit it to once a week. I think more than that is really a waste of time. sometimes I pop on one more time, just for a quick check, especially if I have not been moving as much as I know I should, more to make sure the scale is not going up, but never more that that. so as for a pledge, the only really honest answer I can give is twice a week. I could lie, but what good is that gonna do.

So y'all just know that 2 times a week, before I crawl my big ass in the shower I am gonna stand on the scale and peak with one eye. get use to it. this morning??....256. starting weight??? 419*..
