You betcha! although you might want to make sure and wait for another commenter to confirm it as I am not confident. Better yet, why don't you ask the Medifast guys because they can give you an answer better...

Thanks for joining me. Wow! 130 lbs!! That's something and keeping it off a year is fantastic!!.

I'll keep spreading the word and try to get more members in here. I know the feeling of "sheer force of will." I'm hanging on by a thread and it now looks pretty sure I've put on a real 4-5 lbs since I went on maintenance in mid-July. I'm trying to be kind and reminding myself that Everyday a new one, right?.

Tonight I'm off to party at a friends, buffet style. Lots of people and food. My strategy is to (1) don't go there too hungry (as is my instinct) but instead eat a normal lunch, (2) focus on protein and veggies, (3) make a whole plate (instead of standing and nibbling, nibbling, nibbling) and nothing more, and (3) allow a dessert (of course) but stop at one small serving of something and that's it..

If you have any other ideas, pass them on!..

This is just what I need. thanks for starting it. I started Medifast in Feb and lost 36 lbs. Have been maintaining for 3 months on Oct 1. I have fought the same 30-40 lbs for 30 years. This is the first time that I have learned what I can eat to maintain, and still learning!I have to plan everyday carefully and have stayed in my range without much trouble or drama..

Buffets are a challenge, it sounds like you will do fine with your plan. Wine is what triggers me to overeat so I am careful to only have 1 or none!.

Maintaining is work but it beats being overweight! Just ordered size 8 jeans! Yay!.

I'm looking forward to all we can share here to sty OP!..

I thought this was a good idea, too. I needed a little support community white's of their eyes sort of thing. Today I'm starting my "redo" on maintenance and going back to the last stage (weeks 4-8). Mostly because it gives me a plan. I really need it. One of the things I'm struggling with is feeling like I went from a lot of rules (good rules) on the 5/1 to no rules whatsoever.

If anyone has a eating plan book they recommend, let me know. Someone suggested Dr. A's Habits of Health, so I'm going to take a look at that..

Lisa (HappySWK) - Welcome. Your achievement is amazing!.

Welcome Tarahh..

Greenteadrinker - Planning carefully every day is the trick, isn't it? And yes, I totally agree. Struggling with eating issues at a size 8 is way better than the alternative. I said that to a friend yesterday..

And welcome again to Jane (janedelagrotte)..

Have a great day, all...

Just wanted to stop in and say 'hey'..

I'm high maintenance for sure...2 years in November..

It takes a lot of effort every day - but it's worth it..

I'm worth it..

And so are all of you..

Mabelle - I LOVE the quote in your signature and I'm going to 'borrow' it and post it on my team thread..

Have a great day to all...I wish you all a happy healthy journey...

Mabelle, I agree that going from the rules of 5&1 to no rules is pretty difficult. I have looked at it as having to make my new rules that I will follow and live with for the rest of my life. I think you have a great idea to go back to week 4. I also have Dr's A's Habits of health and am working my way through it..

Hi all, week 2 of maintenance here. I have been very consistent for the past few weeks and still marvel at it. I still am not sure that *I* am doing this... must be some kind of accident! LOL.

Mabelle - yep, buffets are hard for me... I have a problem with portion control! When I go to a buffet with others I have to limit myself to one trip... which is really hard when I think "I paid for this and want my money's worth!".

I have a whiny, little, inner brat!.

Jane - Wow! I am SO going to celebrate at my one year anniversary of maintaining my weight!.

GTD - Yes, it's the learning that has done it for me too. Knowledge is power!.

Hi Tara!.

HappySWK - Ask away. I had so many people answer questions for me that I'm glad to pay it forward..

Shamrock - Yes, effort. Constant vigilance to prevent that sliding back into old habits. ugh..

I can feel the support already!.

Thanks, Mabelle...

Lisa -.

First of all, you're a rock star..

What an amazing job you've done working the plan and losing the weight..

Mad props to you..

Sharing my meal plan is easy....because I basically eat the same thing every single day (which I'm fine with)..

This is all based around exercise 4-5 times per week..

Danon Lite Yogurt.

1/4 cup of Banana Nut Cheerios.

Salad with lots of veggies and small amount of light dressing.

Another piece of fruit.

Some time of healthy bar.

Turkey meatloaf - more salad and veggies - small serving of brown rice.

100 calorie ice cream.

Tons of water.

2 cups of coffee.

1 can diet Pepsi.

Dinner will be switched up from turkey meatloaf to stuffed peppers (with extra lean ground turkey) or grilled chicken..

I try to stay pretty consistent with what I did here on 5/1 and eat every 3 hours or so..

That's pretty much the average day..

Hope it helps a little...

Count me in.........I'm in Week 6 of transition. I've hit goal twice and lowered it each time. Although I have 145 posted as my current weight, I've been on prednisone and I'm not sure what my weight "truly" is. I know for sure it is not more than 146.4 because I weighed this morning, but as you all probably know, prednisone causes water retention. I took my last pill on Saturday, so I'm hoping to see the numbers start dropping. 145 was goal, but I would like to hit 140 during transition to make an even 100 lbs.

I did not lose all of it on MF, nor since 03/2010, which was my Medifast start date, but pounds are pounds and I'm claiming them..

I'm a high maintenance girl all the way around and I'm happy to be here with ya'll. See ya' later...

Hi All - It looks like the team is starting to ROCK. Keep posting! Here's who has posted in so far:.

Della -.

Greenteadrinker -.

HappySWK - Lisa.

Iblori58 - Lori.

Janedelagrotte - Jane.

Mabelle58 - Mabelle.

Tarahh1 -.

Shamrock 0421 - Lori.

Lori 0421 - Thanks for sharing your average food day with us. That's really helpful for me. Yesterday was the first time I actually planned in advance what I would eat. I usually hate doing that, because I'm an "improviser" (that's why 5/1 was fine for me: no thinking). But not thinking is not helping me now. Even though I only kept to about 50% of my planthe planning helped..

Lori 58 - Congratulations on your success. Week two of maintenance is great!.

Della - Once the water's gone, I'm sure you'll find you're far lower..

Everyone else, have a great PLANNED FOOD day..

- Mabelle..

My menu varies daily, with lots of planning. I am retired and love to cook so I bake and cook almost daily. Today I made apple fritters, recipe from Hungry Girl and we really like them 122 cal each. Made with oatmeal..

Greek yogurt with berries and 1/4 cup kashi go lean 120 cal.

Fruit combo of kiwi, berries, orange grapes -Total for all fruit 100 cal.

1 apple fritter 122 cal.

Cut up veggies to snack on.

Salad, lots of spinach and leafy greens, with black olives, onions and a morning star farm asian veggie burger with Light ginger sesame dressing -145 cal.

Mozzarella cheese with grape tomatoes and balsamic/evoo 130 cal.

Baked salsibury steak 235 cal.

1/2 baked potato 80 cal.

Lima beans 80 cal.

Wax beans ( I don't count nonstarchy veggies and eat my fill).

Other snacks will be chosen from.

MF bar.

String cheese.

Cocoa almonds.

Low cal cookie.

Snacks to + around 200-300 cal.

Total cal 1250-1350.

I have more cals on the weekends but try to keep weekdays under 1400.

My food scale calculates calories so that really helps..

Tomorrow will be similar as we will have the leftovers from tonight, really liked the asian salad so will be eating more of them, should add some walnuts I think!.

When I measure and count I do well, if I take a day and am less accountable I will go up a bit, all in all I have kept to my range with out much trouble. We are talking about a cruise for 40th wedding anniversary and that scares me a bit!!!!..

GreenTea -.

You have at that 40th anniversary cruise..

Go and enjoy every second of it..

The way I've handled maintenance is like this....I'm.

Regimented when I'm.

Regimented and - when it's time to enjoy a long weekend or a week's vacation - I enjoy it. I try to remain active - but I don't deprive myself. (Which - ask anyone who knows me - and they'll tell you that's an understatement!).

I eat - drink - and be merry..

Because when I get home - and go back to being.

Regimented - the weight comes back off every time..

Obviously you can't have those 'eat, drink, and be merry' parties TOO often, though..

And I realize just because it works for me doesn't mean it's ideal for everyone..

Just wanted to put it out there for you..

Congrats on losing the weight and maintaining and a big congrats on 40 years!..

Thank you Greentea and Lori for posting what you eat. Its really helpful to see how others are eating and what they are eating. I did get my calories up to 1300 the past couple of days so i'll see how that goes..

I am loving the greek yogurt with blueberries and kashi mixed together! I have half in the morning and the other 1/2 of yogurt I crunch up Medifast pretzels and mix. also very good..

So far having fruit with protein seems to have warded off any cravings so i'm happy about that. I feel like i'm eating a ton of food! ok..so here's what I ate today. Any feedback is welcome!.

Breakfast: 1/2 c ff greek, 1/2 c blueberries, 3/4 c kashi.

Mid morning: smores bar.

Lunch: lettuce, spinach and cucumbers w/ 6 oz tuna.

Afternoon: 1/2 c ff greek, Medifast pretzels, apple.

Dinner: ground bison, 2 c lettuce, 1 c spinach.

Evening: soft serve w/ ff cool whip.

Della-hopefully once the meds get out of your system that water weight will be gone!!.

Greentea- that 40th anniversary cruise sounds fantastic!!!.

Does anyone use vitatops?..

Here is what I ate today.

Mf blueberry oatmeal.

Sugar snap peas.

Low fat cottage cheese.

Low carb tortilla with 4 oz of turkey.

Mf brownie.

Trader joes meatless meatballs.

I'm missing another fruit/dairy but I'm short and found when I ate all of that food I felt bloated- and craved a lot. I like how I feel on about 1100 calories maybe 1200..

Thanks for all the kind comments! The cruise is not planned yet, just in the where should we go stage. One reason I needed to lose again last winter was due to 2 cruises I really enjoyed!!.

I am strict during the week and keep cals to 1300-1500. Then have more on weekends 1600-2000, the 2000 comes on Sat which is Whine wine day!! I put on 1-2 lbs and they fade away by Wed. If I go beyond my range or to close I eat 1200 cal and lose it. This is amazing as I never lost on 1200 before. I really think my time on 5&1 changed my metabolism, or returned it to normal..

Anyone cruise the Pananma Canal? We've done Hawaii, alaska caribean and Mexico.Would do Hawaii and Alaska again no problem! Getting DH away from phones is the answer for relaxation! Ireally think our 3 kids should chip in and send us but they don't agree!..

Hope everyone has a nice weekend. I will be having Chinese for the 1st time and know the salt will show and you will get salt weight off Mon!!! Next adventure will be in Nov to visit 93 yr old Mom in Nursing home in Fla. Talked to her today and she said she just doesn't know why the nurses keep telling her not to throw things down the toilet. Dementia can be fun, she has been flushing banana peels down the toilet and they have had to fix it once and replace toilets twice. We just hope they don't kick her out! Very interesting, the circle of life..

Take good care of your kids and their turn will come!!..

I hope everyone is having a great weekend..

There's nothing like starting a group and then going AWOL, eh? Just too much work these days. I've got a lot on my plate - and that's not just a metaphor. When I have a lot on plate I tend to put a lot on my plate. That is, when I get stressed and overworked I overeat. It's my number one issue, I think. I stop planning and then, because I'm working to hard, I feel like "rewarding myself." An old, old issue for me: sacrificing my health for my job.

Hello, all!..

Mabelle, I certainly understand the stress and demands of work. Just like I have to schedule my day with clients I also schedule my day with eating. Before I go to bed at night I log all my food in for the next day. I measure and weigh and put in containers to pack up in the morning. This way My entire day is planned out. I only eat what I have logged in for the day.

It also makes it easier when I get home late, to know exactly what i'm eating that night. Not sure if that would work for you?.

Let's keep this going!.

One "bad" thing 5&1 did for me was to get me used to and liking a snack or dessert after dinner.I always save some calories for a little something. So today I made the brownie muffins and added 20 cals of 72% choc chips to each muffin on top a 75 cal treat from Medifast Really good, imagine I will use up the rest of these meals now!.

1 Medifast brownie.

1 Medifast egg.

1 Medifast choc pudding or cocoa.

1 tsp baking powder.

1 -2 Tbs sf choc syrup(opt).

1/2 cup water.

When mixed and in muffin pan (makes 6) I placed 5 chips on each one.

Tastes pretty good!!.

I used ghiradelli 72% chips at 4 cal each.

Less cals the vitaops and I can use up some of my food. And 1 is enough at a time so got 6 snacks/desserts!..

Black bean brownies.

I added 72% choc chips last time I made them and baked them in a bigger pan, 7x11. They seemed more like brownies and not so cakey. I think trying the sf syrup is worth a try. Let me know if you try it first and I will too! We really like them and they are better for you...
