Hi Toni, Pam, Jo and whoever else is checking in but too embarrassed to post. OK, I'll start with the embarrassing story. I wasn't going to post or check in or anything this week. In fact, I came dangerously close to throwing in the towel..

I was so proud of myself on Thanksgiving...the days leading up to the holiday and including the holiday were perfect 100% OP days. I lost almost 2 pounds that week. I hit my lowest weight yet (185.6 lbs). I was soooo excited. Then I went temporarily insane. That's the only explanation I have.

My job went from part-time to full-time overnight (I can really use the extra money, but the extra time zapped every ounce of energy I had). My reaction to all of this turmoil and change was to bury my face in a sugar bowl with fried food on the side all followed by a couple bottles of wine..

The consequences to my poor choices in stress management....I gained 8.6 pounds and threw myself out of ketosis like no other..

Now, here it is. Monday. Day one. Back on plan..

I decided that I could either wallow in regret or embrace the regret. Wallowing in regret just gets me heading in the direction of more regretful behavior. But by embracing the regret, acknowledging the errors and getting right back to more positive behaviors, I am not going to perpetuate the problem, which would only lead to gaining even more weight or falling completely off the plan....horrors..

My numbers for this week in our challenge are painfully embarrassing:.

+8.6 (can't we just count that as -0, Pam?.

) / 0 / 0.

So I challenge anyone else who has also fallen by the "weigh"side (clever!), to fess up and get yourselves right back here. We need you and more importantly, you need us!.

And, yes...I did update my ticker to be honest with myself...

Jeanne you are absolutely amazing! So many of our fellow KISSers have just fallen off the map. YOU have hung in there each and every week. You are right to OWN the gain. Ask yourself what you learned from it and MOVE ON. Stress.....we can't live without it but we can take care of ourselves. I am sooo proud to be your teammate! Your honesty is refreshing.

You have no learned that going off plan adds to your stress, it doesn't help it. I'm sooo glad you didn't throw in the towel! I know we don't know each other that well but I am so proud of you for coming here and posting a gain instead of hiding your head in the sand. So hold your head high and get back on plan, Don't let anything stop you. Do whatever you have to do to stay OP over the next 2 weeks!!!!!.

Hi all. Sorry I have not been around. Just dealing with some stuff right now. Not really off-plan (well, not by OVEReating anyway) but kind of stuck, no gain, no loss for the last two weeks. That's fine with me. I'm having trouble eating though.

I tried to eat some turkey last night and got in about five or six bites, then gagged and had to just stop all together. I'm not sure what is up with me. I sent a message to nutrition support asking if I could just do six Medifast meals for a while and skip the L&G. I have an appointment with my doctor next week but I suspect it is more mental than anything else..

Anyway, sorry to have not been around. I am just a bit messed up right now and not really interacting with people too much. I will try to check in more often..

Um....GO TEAM GO!! RAH, RAH, RAH!!!..

Thanks so much for the support! Pam, you're the best. Toni and Faith, I sure hope your tummy troubles are resolved soon. Does not sound fun at all. Hugs to you both..

I am doing so much better these last couple days. I've been 100% OP since Monday and I feel great again. I've gotten a little bit of exercise indoors (Wii fit) but I really miss walking outside. Right now, it's 13 degrees below zero. No walkies for me!.

Things at home are settling into a routine. DD is feeling more stable (for the moment) and is getting out to meet new friends (a good sign). I also helped her get on a modified Medifast plan after letting her have a week of my Medifast meals to get her started. She's doing really well and has lost 14 pounds. That should also help cheer her up..

The next couple weeks will be full of challenging holiday parties. I have rock solid plans for all of them though...STAY OP! Had my fill of off plan consequences, thank you very much. I'm not sure who else is checking the boards these days, but I hope you are all well and enjoying the season. Stay warm!.

Hi there KISSERS.

I am still undergoing some major testing, probably wont be until after christmas that I can get a definate answer..

Things havent been looking too good. I am constantly in pain and nauseous..

When I stopped doing Medifast around thanksgiving I had gained 10 lbs..

But as of this morning I have dropped 12 lbs in just those few weeks and havent been eating very well. So now I am at the weight where I left off Medifast after doing soo good on MF..

I dont think it's a good thing, losing weight and not trying isnt good..

I joined Curves and have went a few times, so far I like it but cant work out in pain!.

Faith- thanks for the info, how exactly could he help me?..

Toni, apparently he can discern things. I can't explain it. He has been helping a friend in Florida and one in Massachuttes wtih amazing results. I am looking for the info. again. I can't seem to find it....I will keep looking though.

There is a good one in my area as well and is helping some cancer patients with good results. Generally they work in concert with your regular primary doctor as well, it is not just some hocus pocus stuff....but sometimes it is worth investigating other options, especially when you seem to be getting nowhere with conventional medicine..

I will keep looking for my info. I know it is here somewhere in this mess of an office!.

I don't know Michele. I am dropping weight because I can't eat. I had to go get IV fluids on Saturday at urgent care because I can't drink water much either. The ultrasound showed the gall stones but he thought that was not it because it is not inflamed. I have pain in my side especially when sitting up. I just got back from doing the CT scan and they are sending the results to my doc stat.

He said he thoroughly expected to get a call from the hospital this weekend saying that his patient was there. I am stubborn about that. I am upset about being off work because I really don't have any sick time at all and I am going to lose money now. I can't afford this right now. It is really adding to my stress, which he thinks is another factor.

I HATE this!..

Oh Faith, I hope you feel better. I too have been sick every day, even vomited at work 3 times today, embarrassing! I am under 160 and havent gained anything. Now have to take naps at work too when I can barely hold my head up like today.

I really am sad and depressed that I have been dealing with this for so long with no answers..

I have a feeling it could be IBS, in that case, there is no cure Just controlling it. I would accept it and try to control it. At least it would be an answer..

Just found out my Upper GI & Gastric emptying Study is Normal! Waiting to hear on Monday the results of my pH Study (urine collection 3 days of 24 hours each).

Then who knows whats next.. I think somewhat like IBS is included as well..

I have been reading that many people lose weight too rapidly and causes the gall bladder to react differently..

Faith, check your symptoms for Biliary Dyskinesia and also ask your dr for a HIDA scan.

Weird you both popped in here today when I planned to message you both and Pam...

I'm feeling a bit better today. Getting in much more water than I had been. My side still hurts but the ct scan only showed a small cyst on my left kidney and they don't think that's an issue. so far I have gallstones that are not the problem and a cyst on my kidney that is not the problem. I am suppose to see a GI doc on Monday morning but I'm getting sick of this. I suspect maybe it was the staph infection all along.

So far I have had two shots of a powerful anti-biotic and I do feel a bit better today so maybe that was it the whole time. I go back to see him tomorrow..

Toni, I am so sorry about all this, it sounds awful. I wish they could find something to help you, and soon. My best friend said I need House (tv show doc) - I told her to give him a call! I think we both need House!..

Hi Faith, glad to see you are doing alittle better. Certainly keep an eye on your blood pressure. Are you still doing MF, if not, the Ready to drink shake would help alot with not wanting to eat, and still obtain calories during the day..

Feeling alittle better this morning... So they tried to tell me that I have a bladder infection and gave me antibiotics (havent taken them yet) then sent me home..

I had severe shaking from the meds and allergic reation. also clenching my jaws, which still hurt now. So I didnt sleep at all last night. And I am still at work today, cuz we get to leave at 12, 30 mins, so I can go home to rest then..

But over all I feel ok. No pain or nausea, just lighted headed from meds...

I'm still here. I did better yesterday. I ate some of the Christmas dinner (we had our dinner on Saturday), but not too much. I am still pretty wiped out but I think that is from all the cleaning and furniture moving I did Friday and all the prepping and cooking I did yesterday for dinner! I am still suppose to see the GI doc tomorrow, but I really don't want to go. Bleh, I'm sick of being poked and prodded over this stupid nausea thing, it's annoying. I don't have quite as much nausea but it is definately still there when I go to eat..

Anyway, Toni, I finally found the info on that natural healing doc I was telling you about. Here is the link:.

They sell supplements as well (which my cousin swears by now) so you will see info on that. Just click on the tabs on the left to find info. Who knows, maybe they have an answer...

Faith I was really worried about you. I kept checking all the time to see if you posted!.

I too see the GI dr tomorrow for the results of the pH study. Hopefully they find something, at this point I really dont care what it is! just something! treat it, control it, make me back to normal!.

Ask your dr for a HIDA scan, which will tell you your Gall Bladder function. which could contribute to the nauseous, as well as many other things..

I am tired of looking on line for a diagnosis, making myself crazy. I am going to enjoy the family and worry tomorrow..

I too ate little xmas dinner, but really not much. I am still under 160! even though I do eat alittle bit I am not gaining weight..

I hate being poked and prodded too. I have some major bruises from the IV. Which they stuck me 3 times!!!..

Michele, yes they did. I have gall stones, and a cyst on my left kidney (where all my pain is right now) but they say it is NOT the issue because it is not inflamed and there are no gall stones in the bile duct. So who knows. I was in a lot of pain yesterday with my left side/back. It is almost always when I am sitting. It is strange.

I did eat a bit yesterday and I have gained back like 5 pounds (I ate crackers and some bread so the carbs are killing, plus my doc took me off my blood pressure med which is a water pill). I know I needed to go back up a bit because I am not losing the right way but it still frustrates me to see the scale go up. I got really sick last night and I really don't think I am going to eat much today. I will try to push the water though because I don't want to get dehydrated again..

Toni, what is that HIDA scan? Never mind, I looked it up. I doubt they are going to send me for any more expensive scans since they alredy did a STAT Ultrasound and a STAT CT scan of my pelvis/left flank and all the found were gall stones and a small cyst. But who knows..

I have to go back to work today and I am worn out - not sure I will have the energy!..

Ok, here is my latest update. My GI doc pulled me off work for this week, so I went to my regular doc and started the paperwork for disability because I don't know how long all this is going to take and I have to have income coming in!.

Anyway, the GI doc said if he was a betting man he would say it was the gall bladder but he is doing an endoscopy tomorrow to rule out stomach issues such as ulcers. He gave me some prilosec to help with acid in the stomach to see if that will help with the nausea - so far it has not. I have not eaten at all today and have barely had any water. So I have the endoscopy tomorrow, then meet with him again next Wednesday to see how I am doing. At that point he said if it is not better he will set me up for removal of the gall bladder. I see my regular doctor on Wednesday of THIS week so I can get the disability paperwork going and maybe get some pain meds on board.

This is SUCH a hassle! I only hope it is one of these things so it can be resolved finally!.

Toni, how are you doing?..

Hey there Ladies.....I finally have an answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Wow, took soooo long!.

Ok, So it is: Gastroparesis which is Delayed Emptying of the Stomach, which causes nausea and vomiting from the left over foods. More meds, No cure......

They are still doing testing on my urine to make sure I dont have any rare disease or toxins or chemicals in the uring. Although I do have a bladder infection at the moment..

Faith: ask for a Gastric emptying study BEFORE you pull out your gall bladder..

My condition was caused by the surgery of removal. Basically like scar tissue on my stomach lining which doesnt contract well. Just make sure that isnt the case...

Ok this is good news on both fronts - at least some anwers..or close to it so it seems..

Hopefully Toni there can be a way to manage your slow digestion. Have they determined why it suddenly appeared now? Did you say it is the scar tissue? Is it worth it to remove or will more form and therefore the problem will continue?.

Faith I am assuming they did a full blood work up and ruled out any issues like Crohn's or ulcerative colitis right?.

It is the fatigue thing which is worrying though it is likely due to lack of food and water. Let us know what he says tomorrow. I am so glad you are taking care of this =thoug it seems you have no choice bc there is no way you can drive adn see patients in your current state..

I'm glad the meds seem to be working for you Toni, it's about time something helped!.

I feel pretty awful today. I broke down in my docs office crying. I am just so frustrated with having lost all this weight and then feeling like this for so long now it seems. It started about a month ago with me losing interest in food, then the nausea, then in the past 2 weeks the pain. Anyway, he pulled me off work until Feb. 1 and said we could extend it if I end up having surgery.

I don't know. My back and side still hurt, but the area over my gall bladder is really painful and when I do force myself to eat I am in pain for hours. Today I started getting shooting pain in my RIGHT side. My doc prescribed full-strength vicodin, but I will only take that at night to sleep because I keeep waking up around 1 or so in pain and not being able to get back to sleep..

I am going out of town tomorrow to my cousins house in Southern California for a few days because it is the only way I will relax. I am in constant care-giver mode here with my parents and I really, really, really, need the break. My sister and brother and niece will check on my parents. I got my dad's meds all set up in a pill sorter for an entire week and I bought my mom a 4-wheel walker at Christmas so I feel safer about her now. I am a bit concerned about the drive because it is about 6 1/2 hours and I am in pain when I sit, but I just need to get away. I don't see the GI doc again until next Wednesday anyway, so it's not like they are going to do anything else for me at this point.

My cousin and his wife are awesome and they know what is going on. We will just relax together. I can sleep all I want or read and watch tv and not have to worry about taking care of anyone, which is what I need right now. I will drive back home next Tuesday - or earlier if I don't feel well..

So that is it for now. I just hope the pain can be managed a bit once I get situated and can take the pain meds to sleep and maybe half of one in the day if I need it. I'm worn out..

I will take my laptop so should be able to check in with you all once I am down there. Have a happy New Year!.

Happy New Year, ladies!.

Sorry to hear Toni and Faith haven't been feeling well (just got caught up on the thread)..

, I had gall bladder troubles about 15 years ago. I had symptoms that sound much like yours. I didn't have gall stones, but my gall bladder wasn't functioning (contracting when it's supposed to, etc.). I had it removed and I've been fine ever since. Hope they figure your case out soon..

, your problem doesn't sound pleasant at all. But happy to hear you're feeling better with medication. Are you back on Medifast again yet or still trying to regain your equilibrium and get your appetite back?.

I wish you both good health in the new year..

, you sound busy with little ones at the keyboard with you! After having raised my family now (DS 33, DD 28), I have a hard time remembering what it was like with little ones under foot. I do remember thinking 'how did my mom do this?' though! I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday season..

I'm enjoying a really quiet day today. Just dropped DH at the airport. He'll be in Australia all week. DD is staying with a friend for the rest of the weekend. So it's just me and the two cats! I spent the day getting caught up on the boards (haven't had time in several weeks to check in). I also had fun updating my goals for the new year.

Warmest wishes, everyone!.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the "to do" list Michele! I'm trying to do just that. I am a bit weak today as I have only been eating little bits. My cousin is worried because I am weak and not eating, but eating makes me feel sick. I will try to get more in today..

Have a good weekend everyone!..

Faith why dont you try a smoothie.....

I read on a gastro motility site, even though you are sick you should drink a smoothie. Help bring in extra calories when you need them. (It even mentioned a chocolate shake).

Or one thing I NEVER thought of.....Baby Food! pick out a few veggies n fruit that you might like and try'em..

I did try Jamba juice once last week to see if that would help. Sweet things seem to make me feel more nauseated. I ate a bit more yesterday. I ate one pack of Medifast honey mustard pretzels, about a cup of veggie soup puree from trader Joe's, a couple bites of bread, some crackers, and a few roasted veggies. It felt like I pigged out and ate a ton! My tummy and back were hurting last night after that so I'm a bit leary about eating today. So far I only have a little back/side pain so I'm afraid if I eat I will hurt more.

I have to drive back home tomorrow so I want to keep my strength up as much as possible..

Let us know how that ninja works Toni. I have the magic bullet but have not used it much with Medifast this time around since I have been eating mostly the pretzels and cheese puffs..

How are you Michele?..

Glad to hear you are eating more too Faith. THis wed you get results right?.

TOni I guess you are feeling a bit better too. Phew - get you girls over this hump and back to your old selves!.

I am still on Medifast Toni - on and off. Still chasing those last 8 or so lbs. I feel good, clothes look great and I am exercising regulary - running a ten minute mile when my back doesn't hurt....but still want just a little more. I have been at this since Feb of last year. First time in my life I have lost weight and kept it off. This program is so much more than just getting to goal - I have really learned a lot about my food demons which have reared their heads most of my life.

Well, it's after 1 a.m. and I'm still up! Ugh. I need to get to sleep so I can drive home tomorrow, er, today now I guess. I tried eating a bit this morning but I have had a ton of pain today all over. My side, my back, my upper abdonmin, my stomach. Ugh.

I do go back to the doctor on Wednesday and we will see what he says. I hope they can do something for me because I am feeling really wrung out. Not eating much is really draining me and I feel weaker every day. I tried to eat more today but it did not work out because I was in too much pain after I had my Medifast pretzels this morning and about 1/2 cup of veggie soup broth. I forced down a bit of chicken (about an ounce or so) and some cottage cheese later this evening, but I am still hurting.

Have a good rest of the week everyone. I will check back in later tonight after I get home, or tomorrow after my doctor appointment..

Faith - I know that this isn't the way you want to lose weight and that you want to feel better. Hopefully Wed visit will shed some light and get you in the right direction..

I'm home. Crap, I weighed myself and I'm back up to 260! I have not been eating much at all! I did notice that my ankles are swollen though. I think I am retaining fluid big time right now. Anyway, the drive home was fine but I am exhausted and will probably get to bed early. My appointment is at 11:45 tomorrow morning. I'll check in when I get home and let you all know what he says..

Toni, sorry your tummy is not responding as well to the meds today. Maybe it is going to be a combination of the meds and diet? Did they say anything about that?.
