First off, Does the Medifast Diet actually work? Many thanks for any response. Second question of mine... Hi. A couple of years ago there was a group called Christians on Medifast. I have gotten several emails concerning people wanting to join this group. I dont' know who started the original group but I would like to start it back up again with the help of other christians on program to motivate each other and others and to share the WORD be it scripture or positive encouragement. |

I have been a Christian since 1984 with a brief period of backslidden condition, but back with my walk with the Lord now since 1995!! Please feel free to check out my ministry:. Www.lifechanginglove.com. And my. Goal photos. I am allready on two groups, and have been for quite awhile. I started Medifast in march of 2008, yepper, TWO years on MF. I reached goal in September09 (or right around there) and have been going up and down the same ten lbs since then...Only once did I actually get 3lbs below goal. Currently I am 147, 2lbs above goal but feeling pretty good...just need to up my weight training as to get rid of some of my softness~~~LOL. Jo: Congrats on your success. I will have to look at your website. I'm a former backslider myself. I don't go to a particular church becuae in a small town you know all the preacher's devil dealings and it gets discouraging but me and my family have our own personal relationship with the Father and keep prayer and living the word in our daily lives.. Everyone that wants to join the group is free to do so. I will post a scripture once or twice a week and please do so whenever you get the feeling. : ). Now Paula: I see that I'm gonna have to motivate you to post your goals and weight. LOL. You can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you. My 2 cents to stay on track: water water water, chew gum if your tempted to cheat. and come to the boards often.. WE are all in this together. Christians or not. Happy Sunday. IT's been a very busy day for me. JO, I needed this message today. I"m having issues with my neighbor who I know is moving but I'm hoping is moving very soon. She recently got remarried to a guy she's known all of 3 weeks adn he has HIV. He's a nice guy but I'm so tired of him driving his vehicle thru my yard to get to hers.
He's military and has orders. BOY I cna't wait to be neighborless for a little while. But all in all. I am nice to thime and pray for them.. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and getting ready for the work week. I did well on plan today. had a couple BLT but I"m drinking a gallon or more of water to try to redeem myself. Tomorrow is another day. I won't kick myself but I will analyze why I did it and get back on plan... |

I randomly opened my bible today to get a word and it went to Psalms 28:1-3.

I wrote yesterday about my neighbor. I feel this verse speaks to me because I have spoken to my neighbor with a smile on my face knowing in my heart I was not sincere in it or secretly NOT liking her or her situations. I'm thinking God led me to this verse today to call me out on it. and to know that he is watching my heart my mind and my thoughts no matter what "mask" I have on my face to others.. I personally have asked the Lord to give me the desire to stay on plan so that I can succeed and glorify Him! "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11. Good Morning!.
I thought I would share what helps me out when I am down or having a challenging day. I am ministered greatly through song - so I frequently turn to music to get me going. If any of you have visited my page, I have the video of Kari Jobe singing "Healer". I was at a really low point the first of the year when I first heard this song. I wept as I heard the words and allowed God to minister to me through this amazing song. It made me realize that I am in need of a great healing for my ffod addiction and this if I allow Him to lead me, I can break these chains of bondage. I am learning to listen to the VOice of Truth instead of that nasty nagging voice that tells me that once again, I will fail.. If any of you have a favorite song, please share it!. Have a great day. LOL> Stock up on your sugar free gum to help you get through the day. What's on your lean and green menu for this weekend? I usually eat Ham for Easter but this year I think I will skip the dinner at my grandparents house and cook a turkey dinner for my family. Kids will also be out for spring break here.My kids are BIG grazers so I will have to stock up snacks for them and me. I love the sugar free jello but I don't indulge often... |

I just discovered this group and I'm so glad! I read so many secular threads and I remember being lost in sin and not knowing. I was so blind. Now, I don't even watch secular TV; it's all about Jesus. It's great to be able to correspond with other Christians about this Medifast walk. Thank you for starting this. God bless you...

I think their most recent recordings have been the best ever.. Right now Revelation is the best song they've ever written.. Today I found myself after searching all these years. And the man that I saw wasnt at all who I thought hed be. I was lost when you found me here. I was broken beyond repair. Then you came along and sang your song over me. Feels like Im born again, feels like Im living. For the very first time in my life.. Just thought I'd share that!. I don't have time to find a recording online. Maybe tomorrow.. I'm a new MF'er starting 03/17/10, so, I'm still in the baby stuff...whining every two hours if I don't get to eat RIGHT NOW...hopeing that gets better. I'm married with no kids, work two jobs and go to school. I'm finishing my MBA.. I've been a Christian for many years, and really don't know what I would do without Him in my life to lean on.. I look forward to "meeting" each of you.. |

Welcome Angelah1965. Of course you can join us. You will be amazed at how well this Medifast thing works and I know you will lose that "every 2 hours" thing. After a few weeks, I found that I had to set a timer to remind me to eat. You will lose all interest in food, trust me. We just went to Golden Corral and the grease was floating on top of almost all their food.
Tonight I had a deck of cards size rare piece of grilled sirlion, and raw veggies from the salad bar with a few drizzles of fat free dressing, and I was truly stuffed. All that food looked terrible to me. Just amazing how Medifast changes our desire to eat grease, as well as sugar and flour. You will lose your carb addiction, if you have one like I did, and that's a true miracle from the Lord. Just follow the program as written and you will do really well. God Bless,. Elizabeth.. |

Welcome all the newbies this is an awesome food plan and this Christian Discussion Board Rocks!!! We are all so blessed, especially this week as we honor our Risen Lord and Savior, let's honor HIM by taking good care of ourselves thru this awesome plan! When I started Medifast 9 weeks ago, I asked God to give me the desire to stick to this and let go of my food addictionand He did. Nothing else will work for meI had to give it to Him, though. Chele, for the teenager...money is always good. I saw some girls trying the Harajuku perfume at Sephora(love that place) a few weekends ago. I'm not sure if they are cheaper there or not..
I did see the shroud of torin(sp?) special... and yes, you are right it gave me chills too. It's amazing how that touched my heart.. I'm struggling today, but I know what my problem is, I got on the blasted scales today. Tomorrow is my weighin day... and I'm aggrevated because it is a pound bigger than last week's number. I'm so much of an impatient little kid inside. I need to get over myself.. Anyway, it's a beautiful day and I'm thankful for spring!!.. |

During the night we had horrible rain storms, but the sun is out now and it's a beautiful day! Praise the Lord!. Angelah, I just noticed below your ticker that you lost 14 pounds before starting MF. Did you do a fast? Just curious.. After church on Sunday my family is going over to my sister's house and she's having my parents there, her kids, and about 20 other people! It's going to be a huge Easter celebration meal. I'm bringing several L&G choices! But I'm reminding myself it's all about JESUS and not food! Hi everyone. What a wonderfully positive and uplifting thread this is!.
I love this time of year. Lent is such a wonderful season, as it gives us all time to reflect on our own sinfulness and find ways to make some kind of reparation for our sins as well as asking for forgiveness and receiving absolution.. I will be spending tomorrow, Good Friday, in prayer and meditation as I spend the hours between noon and 3:00 with our Lord in His most glorious suffering on the cross. On Saturday night I will be attending the Easter Vigil Mass at my parish, and in fact will finally be Confirmed in the Catholic Church at that Mass. I am looking forward to it more than I could have ever expected!. I hope everyone has a very blessed Easter Sunday, and a blessed and fulfilling upcoming Easter season... |

Yep, we're having an Easter egg hunt for the eggs.... can't have Easter without that! My sister is planning to hide over 100 eggs (plastic) since there will be so many children there. I'm looking forward to it.... except for the chocolate part. That truly is one of my most favorite things in life!! LOL I'm the type of person that can't just have one piece either. :-)..

I lost 1.8 pounds this week. It's not the record that most big girls set, but I'm okay with it.. Traci, I lost weight before joining by fasting. My trouble is once I break a fast, I really try to make up for lost time. It's really sad. I'm hopeing that more of a fasted lifestyle with Medifast will work better.. I loved what you said about it being about Jesus and not about the food. I'm going to try to remember that tomorrow when all the good food is all around.. Mass last night was probably the most beautiful Mass I've ever attended. It was my first Easter Vigil Mass, and I was just blown away by it. If anyone is ever interested in seeing a Catholic Mass, the Easter Vigil is the one to attend! After attending last night, I'm a bit sorry that I've not done it sooner.. Have a wonderful Easter everyone, and remember that it is indeed all about Jesus Christ, and NOT the food!. Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!!.. |

A good Easter Monday to everyone! Well, I don't know about y'all, but I am feeling a strong need/desire for a serious renewal of my commitment to MF. I have never gone off plan in any big way, and have never gone in for off plan foods, but I don't feel as committed as I once was, and it shows in my losses. Plus I was really inspired by diligaf's (Denny's) amazing success with her "Losing it in Lent" challenge. Is anybody here up for a "Do It Like Denny" type of challenge?.
The truth is challenges scare me. Or perhaps it's that I freeze up. Fear of success? Fear of failing? Fear of not measuring up? I don't know, but it plays a part in where I'm at with Medifast right now.. Well, those are my thoughts this Monday morning. Tomorrow it's back to school and daily routine. So I'll just be here using my day off to work on some of these thoughts and issues. God is good! And because He is good, we can trust Him no matter what! Have a great day!.. |

I just finished reading everyone's posts to this blog from yesterday and how wonderful it is to see new members posting to this thread. HOw heartwarming. I love the Lord with all my heart and although I was too busy to come to the boards yesterday, I enjoyed fellowship and I'm so happy to have this medifast family. I was discouraged and had a mini black cloud over my heart over the weekend because my brother dropped off his kids for the WEEK to my house without even asking and went back to his home 4 hours away. My mom volunteered me to watch them for spring break without even asking me or my husband. The first night my neices were mean to my autistic/special needs daughter and it hurt me to see my daughter hurt and crying when someone mistreats her.
One of them even called her weird. I wanted to lash out and be mean in return, but I prayed about it, cried over it, talked to them and consoled her as much as I could. I have since packed them up and taken them to my moms since she is the one who volunteered for him to bring them for the week. I have enough on my plate and my daughter should have peace and understanding in her own home. Coming to the boards today helped me know that God has a plan for her.. |

My heart goes out to you. I cannot even imagine the heart break of your Miracle and your self through this, but I think you handled it beautifully! The Lord grants us wisdom when we let Him. Thank goodness, I know I sure need His input, wisdom and love all the time!. (If my mom volunteered me to watch someones kids for a week, I would not have been too happy with her, to say the least. I'd be glad to help out, but at the very least I'd want to be asked first!).. |

Chele -. I, too, believe you did the right thing. And yes our Lord has a perfect plan for your sweet daughter. I will keep you and your family lifted up in prayer. The enemy is roaring like a lion because he knows his time is short and he will even use family members to cause division. Just stand firm in the Power and Name of our Lord Jesus.. As for me, I did really well on Easter as far as the main meal, but I did cheat with a small piece of cake and those darn Robin Eggs! But I'm back on track and weighed this a.m. and no weight gain. Praise the Lord! I have been struggling with staying 100% OP and I lose weight slowly anyway due to a sluggish thyroid, but I'm determined to stick with it. Easter service at our church was amazing. My name is Jennifer and I'm interested in joining the group. I love reading inspirational scriptures, especially when I have tough days. Today is a doozy!.
I'm going through a lot because of a medication I'm on. (it is actually given to advanced cancer patients to INCREASE their appetites! So ironic I was told to lose weight while on it, huh?). The good news is I'm down 50lbs and it can be done, even while on that medication! It makes me moody and very bloated, too. So, when I want to feel thin, I just end up feeling bloated.. God has been good to me this entire journey and today is just one day of my journey. He has a plan and I just need to work to fulfill his wishes for my life.. Nice "meeting" everyone!.. |

I wish I had time to post a long introduction, and I will soon, but right now I need to ask for your prayers. I just found out my husband lied to me about something big, something important. It's not infidelity or anything like that and I understand why he did it and am praying on that and for him but still I am so hurt and angry. I know he feels deeply ashamed and I want to forgive him. Please pray for me to respond lovingly in accordance to God's will. I am just so upset right now.. Thank you my sisters in Christ!.. |

I'm sorry you're going through this. I went through something similar and I remember hearing from the Lord at the moment my husband told me...I remember hearing, "Forgive him"... I knew right then and there that the Lord was in control and I also knew how much I had been forgiven. I forgave my husband, he was sooo very grateful that I didn't make is about, "ME"...He's a Godly man who is the leader of our home and I'm so blessed to be his wife..
You can get through this. God will show you!!.. |

MominVA, I am so sorry you are hurting right now. I am praying that you receive the comfort that you need as well as the wisdom to deal with the problem in the way you need to. I also pray that your husband's repentance and your forgiveness of him bring you closer together in service to one another and to the Lord..
My priest likes to tell of a story that Cory Ten Boom once told about when she met one of the guards who held her captive at Ravensbruch. It was many years after she was freed, and he came to hear her speak. He asked her forgiveness, and she said that she could not find it in herself to forgive him, so she prayed that she be given the Lord's forgiveness to give to this man until she could forgive him herself. I pray that until you can forgive your husband you be given the forgiveness of the Lord to give to your husband, as well... |

I had a bit of an epiphany earlier. I've read two books in a row now that focused on the theme of forgiveness,. Amish Grace. And. Left To Tell. , my friend told me Wednesday night that God put forgiveness on my heart for a reason although at the time I couldn't imagine what that reason could be. Now I know! How amazing He is! How He knows our needs before we ourselves know them! Praise God!.. |

MomInVA, I watched that movie just this week and I really was taught some amazing lessons about forgiveness! I mean, AMAZING!.
I've prayed for you in hopes that things are easy for you and your husband. I know marriages have some bumpy roads at times!.. |

Have you ever heard of Peacemakers? It's a great ministry dealing with reconciliation in all relationships throughout the Body of Christ. I taught their Young Peacemaker curriculum in our school. Great, great stuff! Here's a short excerpt from Ken Sande's book The Peacemaker. It's on the four promises we make when we forgive someone. BTW, forgiveness is not about "forgive and forget" it's all about what we do when we remember..

Hello!.
I missed church this morning. I teach driver's ed (in-car, very part-time,) and I had kids schedule 2 drives this morning. Is there ANY doubt I am a believer??!!! Riding around with teenagers who have NEVER driven a car before, will bring ANYONE to the throne of grace!! LOL. It was beautiful in Houston today. 72 degrees, with a nice breeze. I finally got my squash and tomatoes planted. (Hopefully it will help with my Lean and Green grocery bills!) I am enjoying the weather right now, because in a month, the humidity will rise to 90%!!. Hope you all are having a wonderful Sunday!.. |

How is everyone today? It's beautiful here in Indiana..yesterday set a record for 86 degrees. I'm not ready for that hot weather yet..

Welcome to those of you who are new!. I am excited. I think we may have found a church we want to attend! This is a big one for us, because the last 5 yrs we have just been "church hopping" and have really missed a place to call. Home. Already looking forward to Sunday! The kids enjoyed their classes and hubby and I both fel God's presence during the service, so I feel hopeful.. Just wanted to share.... I am having a hungry day today. Well, a. Mental. Hunger day. I know I'm not really HUNGRY, just... I dunno.. Bored, maybe? No worries though, I am staying OP. How do YOU combat mental hunger?. How is everyone else doing today?.. |

Viva80, that is awesome! I miss having a church home. We're living temporarily in AZ and we haven't even considered it. We will be moving to the Houston area and my non-denominational church has a branch right near us! I'm excited..
I would like to ask for prayer for a constant struggle. I'm suffering from female issues and EVERY SINGLE DAY I have cramps, bleeding, and am struggling emotionally. Physically, I've been like this for over one year. Everyday! But, it's finally taking a toll on me. I just ask for prayer and that God helps me each day. I always feel like giving up but just can't let myself. I will pray for everyone on these Medifast boards, not just the Christian ones! I'm new to this thread, but I think it is great. I'm glad you started it.. Sassychele02, I'm in the same slow moving boat you are right now. I've been maintaining the same weight for 3 wks. I just lost 2 lbs., now I seem to be holding onto a plateau. I think I need to get more movement in to maybe burn more calories. I've been drinking a momentum every day so that might help...lol.. I feel good though and I love the 5&1 program. My DGD says I'm a good size for a grandma now....lol.. Blessings,. Lizbeth.. |
