First question I have is Does the Medifast Diet induce Ketosis? Many thanks for any response. Another quick question... Other topics will be discussed that may not be appropriate for the easily offended..

Please discontinue reading Tough Love threads if they are going to cause you to become upset.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++.

Medifast is a wonderful program with many different types of support and a fabulous community. We understand that everyone is an adult and this is not a "mean" group. For some of us, we thrive on this program if we have a place where we are held accountable, where we commit to the program 100% and where we have a place to chat with others who feel the same..

What we believe:.

1. Cheating on Medifast is NOT a strategy to get us out of our fat suits.

2. The only way for us to learn about our problems with food is to take the word "choice" out of the equation when it comes to Medifast. Our only "choice" is 5 packets and 1 weighed and measured lean and green a day.

3. We look to those who have been successful with this strategy to continuously remind us about why this way, for us, is the way to go.

4. We believe that, even though we are completely committed, knowing that we have a group that holds us accountable for our actions is both useful and important.

We commit to:.

1. Remove the word "choice" from our vocabularies.

2. Follow the Medifast plan as written, including transition and maintenance.

3. Tell our "inner brat" to shut the H-E-** up and quiet him or her through abstinence from off plan foods.

4. Give and receive tough love without complaining or calling each other "mean".

5. Cheerlead fellow group members as they follow the path to thinness.

6. Make Medifast the LAST diet we ever go on.

7. Check in with the group as often as our schedule reasonably allows.

8. Be honest with ourselves and our Medifast family and to stay 100% OP at all times. We also swear that WHEN (not if) we are having a tough time and feel like we may eat SLUDGE, to come to our Medifast family first and ask for support and help to get us through the struggle..

Getting the banner:.

We accept anyone who follows the Medifast plan 100% as written, but not limited to, the Quick Start Guide. We recommend participating on the team for 1 week prior to requesting the Tough Love Banner to ensure that compliance to our bylaws is do-able for you..

Anyone can start the thread. If youre the first one here in the morning, copy this opening post and create a post for the new day. Anyone is welcome to join, and if folks have additional ideas on how we can commit, we are happy to hear them!..

Wow... ya'll have been a busy bunch this week! To continue yesterday's "lovely" topic of conversation, we had our own little incident at home. All of us were sitting around the dinner table when little Patrick (the 19 month old) passed gas LOUDLY. All the kids turned to look at him. He just grinned and said, "My butt!" Sigh....

Tonight has been a great night at work, but I spend the next two nights with passive-aggressive co-worker. Ick...

Was up late chatting with Susan and up early just because. May end up dozing today zzzzzzz.

Melissa - I didn't get to say Congrats yesterday. This thread moves quick! I can barely keep up..

Ella - mornin' girl.

In my house I keep hearing the same stupid joke when it comes to puffing....Did you hear what that ***hole said? I didn't understand it but his breath stinks! (sigh) I think I'd rather hear your little ones answer or Susan's "safety" haha.

Anna - Good morning. I'll be cleaning with ya. We have family coming for a visit next weekend and they are staying with me. Hmmm need to figure out where the heck they're going to sleep and where I'm going to put the stuff in those rooms so they can. ugh! Been trying to gather stuff for a yard sale and bingo they'll be staying in the room it's all crammed in along with the dollhouse dh is building me. Yeap lots of cleaning to do..

Susan - Yooooo things got pretty silly last night. DH asked this morning when did you come to bed...ohh ummmm 1:15am explaining we were chatting and having fun. It was fun though - thanks for the laughs..

Well need to go fix my Medifast eggs and sip some of this delicious coffee..

I logged a 2.8 pound loss this week! YAY!!! I will be out of the 160s by the end of April for sure..

And I will be looking hawt when Kid Rock sees me in early May!!.

I had an NSV yesterday. Actually, I had 2 but one I'm not super excited about..

#1 - My super cute, very expensive (but got it for a steal at Nordstrom Rack) black and silver studded Joe's Jeans belt is too big on the last hole. And since it's studded I can't add another hole. Besides the extra belt hanging off the other side is getting ridiculously long..

#2 - The campus I was subbing at yesterday makes every visitor wear a badge with his/her drivers license picture on it. Mine has my photo at 250+ pounds. One of my 6th graders was inspecting my badge yesterday and he asked, "You didnt get here until 7:41 this morning? I told him that was probably about right. He had a puzzled look on his face and then said, Im only asking because your badge says 7:41, but that picture doesn't even look like you. Are you sure they gave you the right badge?" I assured him it was the right one and told him I've lost around 90 pounds since that picture was taken. He looked at it, looked at me and said, "You look way prettier now!" A female classmate chastised him, and he shrugged and sheepishly said, "I'm just telling the truth." I really wanted to play down the idea that heavy=ugly and thin=pretty without making him self-conscious, so I told him that the most important thing is that I am much healthier and feel better now.

Today I need to do housework, groceries, and run some other errands. Then DS has baseball practice at 5. We'll see what all I actually get done today. Have a great day, Lovelies! I'll try to check back in when I can...

Susan, thanks for the coffee, but the pot burned dry! Just kidding. Putting some more on now because I'm gonna need it!.

I was up late, too, last night, but wasn't chatting. You all know I was feeding my beaddiction. It's so relaxing to me. I was up until nearly 1 am! Of course, Mr. Brand on Nightline was just bonus. I think it's hilarious that Susan thinks it makes perfect sense that I'm a fan of his.

When I saw he was playing Arthur..

I think I may follow Sherry's suggestion and look into some chakra jewelry today. Love the colors. I have my work cut out for me. It's going to be a nice day today. Hubby is working until 11:30 or so and he's thinking about a bike ride afterward. Emma hasn't biked without her training wheels yet, and it's time to lose them.

It's going to be, "I can't!" "Wait for me!" "Waahhh!" I'm thinking about just letting Marc ride the trail, and I'll stay in the big grassy area where Emma can perfect her riding skills safely while I sit on a blanket making bead links. Like those ladies that bring their knitting basket everywhere..

Good morning!.

My usual perky self is longing for my bed still. It's been a long week and I'm due to open the snack bar again this morning at 7:45. Not only that, but my team takes pictures this morning at 10. So, instead of rolling out of bed at 7:15 and doing a quick shower & get ready, I have to be completely beautified for pics when I leave at 7:30..

Not sure when I missed the announcement, but.

- Have fun with the beauty appts and your date tonight!.

- My much younger brother (who's 12) plays lax. He'd love to be able to go watch that game!.

- Sounds like time for a new picture!.

Morning to everyone I missed and still to come!.

I had a NSV last night. I went to Ross while I was killing time waiting for my DD. When I started MF, most of my pants were a size 26 and a few were 24. I walked out with a pair of slacks and capris both size 22..

Yay me! It was a little hard to look only in the size 22 sections. I kept looking back at my old sizes..

Alright, off to start my day!.

- Long time no see. I hope you are doing well..

- Enjoy your date tonight. I so need to get my eyebrows done. I think I'll call on Monday tomake an appointment..

- Positive thoughts about your father. Drive carefully. Hugs..

- Enjoy the not so relaxing bike ride. We have yet to take my little one on bike rides with us. We enjoy our relaxing bike rides, why ruin it with a 5 year old whining? That sounds harsh. We're taking our bikes to the beach this summer, so he'll get some good family riding time in then. Maybe we will think about taking the training wheels off then..

Hi to.

Keri, Anna, Debra, Cindy, Jasime, Deidra and Sherry.

And everyone else..

Our day today will be grocery shopping, errands, and visiting brother in law so my DH can get some planting ideas. It's a nice clear day (so far). Was supposed to rain today, but I don't see any clouds.

Our review of the movie Hop. Rexy loved it. Great music; he danced the movie away. And now he wants to take drum lessons. Yay. I thought it was okay.

You know, the usual kid movie..

I'll check in later...

Ok, this is ridiculous. I have to buy a new scale already. I have no idea what I weigh and I know I am quite close to T&M. I was weighing myself at work on the scale for dogs but haven't in 2 weeks. Is not buying a scale a psychological way of not dealing with the FACT that I am going to have to start adding sludge back in on T&M? Hmmmmm.........

If I do nothing else today, I am going to get a new scale. And then I'm going to celebrate my loss, read up on T&M (again), and see if I need to recalculate my goal weight. No more waiting..

Good morning, I didn't get up late, I've been out all morning. Here's a brain dump of my day so far:.

We got up early to get to Trader Joe's right when they opened, and DSO and I bought a ton of stuff. She's been a crotchety crone lately, so she wasn't the best shopping partner, but she cheered up a bit at the flamboyant and exuberant checkout dude. I got a lot of stuff that fits into the plan and some convenience foods that don't for DSO. I also got some lo-cal soy creamer for my weekend french pressed coffee which is surprisingly good..

I stopped on the way home at the hardware store, a charming ancient wood-floored place that is really something out of an old movie both in how it looks and the quality of service and got two rhubarb bulbs. I really want to get a rhubarb patch established here..

At home, I put things away and pulled old veggies out of the freezer, ran them under hot water, and flung them at my delighted but still loudly scornful chickens. Then I cleaned out and rearranged my spice rack, dumped the old stuff and saved the jars for this year's harvest..

Finally, I drained and pressed 10 pounds of tofu! Tofu cooks up chewier and heartier if you press the water out and freeze it. Plus, it keeps longer. At the local middle of nowhereville stores, it is way overpriced, so I always stock up at Trader Joe's..

All this by 10 a.m..

In a few minutes, I'm going to take Augie for a long, cold, wet walk..

Hi to everyone who has stopped in so far!.

, sending good thoughts your Dad's way..

- My last weight loss debacle, I weighed on the shipping scale at work! Now I have a decent scale that I think is accurate, but I only step on it once a week. (I keep it in the kitchen though so I have to walk by it on the way to eat anything.).

- 1.6 for you is like 20 pounds for other folks! Congrats!!..

Well, I've been gone for awhile now. Started eating on Saturday, continued into Sunday, and then again last night. Still taking Chantix. Started smoking anyway. Crying everyday and depressed beyond words. Stopped running.

As soon as this pack is gone. I will not be posting here anymore. I know I don't belong here, because instead of being angry, I am feeling sooo sorry for myself, and that has no place here. I avoided doing this as long as possible, but I realize it has to be done for me to move on. I just can't lie and pretend everything is fine.

, you'd been missing and I had been worried..

Stopping smoking and a restrictive diet is too much right now. Do one thing at a time. I know I wasn't able to diet when I was quitting smoking. It was eat and smoke or smoke and diet, but not both. Pick one, focus on it, conquer it, then start the other..

You took on too much and set yourself up for failure. Pick ONE horse, and climb back on it. You can't ride two at once...

Anna - nice of your credit union to handle things that way. Even better that they didn't have to. yeesh!.

Cindy - not sure I can do two nights in a row staying up that late but, I'll be looking for ya. heh heh.

Keri - You don't live far from me at all.

It's going to be a great weekend weather wise for us. DH is headed out on his motorcycle tomorrow for sure - I may join him but then again I'm going out today with my BFF so may have to stay in and do the housework/chores I won't get done today..

Tara - Good morning! Yup...need to get a scale by the sounds of it. Have fun shopping! There are so many to choose from. I went through that about a food scale until Susan emailed my hubby. hahaha Surprise DH bought me a gift..

Jasmine - How sweet! from the mouth of babes. Its funny though how already the little girl knew never to mention anything about weight to a woman huh? I think it's pretty cool for him to have noticed too!.

Penny - there are lots of books on the chrystals and stones and the holistic aspects of them. It's pretty cool actually. I have a few chakra sets that I use with my Reiki. I have a few that my friend wrapped in wire too. One of my favorites is Snowflake Obsidian - great to wear to work for me ha ha. Although I find I can only wear it with a turtleneck because of the metal issues I told you about.

Debra - sending positive and healing vibes. Great job packing your MF....keep us posted if you can..

De - Good mornin'Way to go with the 1.6. WOOT!.

Deidra - way to go on the shrinking pants! I haven't gone clothes shopping yet...I either have to invest in suspenders or go pretty soon myself. Congrats!.

Cheri - What ya planting? Hmm I wanted to see Hop because I thought it was so cute but, no little ones for me to take. Guess I'll be waiting until it hits RedBox or NetFlix.

Zoe - Zoiks thats alot for such a short time. Oooo I wish there was a Trader Joe's closer to me. The closest one is over 1.5 hours away I believe..

DH is currently outside shaving our blonde golden retriever Jake - man that dog can shed! Not sure if he'll shave our Red golden retriever Jenny - her fur is more corse and she doesn't shed as much. Then there is Peenut - long haired dachsund - ohhh the brat of the bunch! He could use a shaving too...might have to suggest that. I'm sure my back yard looks like snow with all the blonde fur flying around right now. Ewww should I even look?.

Off to do some chores then out with my BFF today. Yippee! Catch you later...

As well. Pick a horse and focus on riding that horse. You are trying to do too much right now. Please stop being so down on yourself...

Good afternoon all. Taught my last official grad class of the year. One more, but it is the final exam, all I need to do is sit there and watch them....well and score it. I always love it when the school year starts to wind down. First my grad class, then my senior classes, then the end of school. The only problem is that as it starts to wind down, I start to feel myself want to wind down as well..

I'm going to go out for a quick run. Long one planned for tomorrow, but it is officially not raining and 51 degrees. No sun, but no rain.....so I'll get a quick run of intervals in..

No chopped tofu, but congrats to the losers. Prayers for all those in need. Celebrating the fact that there aren't any gov't furloughs!..

I love the deck and the kitchen reminds me of my own in layout..

I just attempted to take a nap but my Mom thought I was napping upstairs so she proceeded to make my kids some sludge down here. I'm looking at houses to rent and hoping we find one next week.

I like that one, too,.

The color scheme is not me. I don't know if it is you, either, but that is easily changed and the layout is nice and I love the fireplace..

On a side note, every time I see the title of today's thread, I feel compelled to break out into song... -.

To be honest, I find the whole thing kinda yawn except that I love the family room, deck, and office space - and given that I work from home fairly often, that's important. The kitchen/living room/dining area aren't special, but I think there's some potential there. And Jim loves it...

Hi Steph - yes, generic, but I like it a lot - I think it has lots of potential and it's quite sweet..

Hi Carolyn! ROTFLMAO! Love the video, too funny!!!!.

Zoe, the low calorie soy creamer - Silk? That's the only one I can find... please advise!.

So dh is now working on the ceiling of the front room - he's agreed to let me re-do the room. It was in a very dark, sort of all American idea with pictures of George Washington, etc. all over the place. I wasn't too crazy about it but I could live with it. But now that it's been razed to the ground so to speak, I want to redo it in lots of light colors and perhaps flowers, we'll see. You see I live across the street from the George Washington Dewint House so dh has always thought it was fitting that the front room sort of reflected that.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful OP Saturday afternoon!!!!.

Steph, it's nice but I wonder how chopped up it feels being multi-level? I'd also love to know what that privacy hedge is hiding (or from whom/what it is hiding the house) Have you toured it yet? The kitchen looks roomy enough, but with that narrow walkway into/out of it, it may not be the best for entertaining or big family meals/celebrations. One other concern - how much of your yard will you be able to use for gardening, etc. with the larger trees creating shade?.

I love the deck in the back and the patio that comes off the lower level. The colors are very neutral which is nice - you can add whatever color you like without worrying about clashing with what's there or re-painting everything...

This was Trader Joe's store brand, 15 cal 1 carb per tbsp. It is in a tiny carton. I don't know if Silk is comparable. I only plan on using it on the weekends since I get so much more exercise and brew much better coffee - during the week I use very few condiments and drink whatever is on sale...

I didn't do a ticker this time because while yes, I want to get back to my goal weight, it's really not what's driving me this time. It's tough trying to create a ticker to gauge size, not weight. hehe. When I get back into those skinny size 8's I'll be a happy camper!.

All my running around is done. Later I'll go grab CC and we'll hit up Walmart to buy supplies she needs to build a model of a butterfly for school. Until then, I'm just going to clean my kitchen and veg...

, I totally get that. I just randomly guessed at a weight. My first thought was 145, but it didn't get me back into size 6 jeans hanging on my door and since I was there a couple years ago..no reason I can't get back there. I'm not even sure my current goal will get me there. When I was thin and in shape, I never let my trainer weigh me. He had to or he'd lose his job when I started with him, but I never let him weigh me on the journey.

Speaking of squawking..gonna go look at the eagles...

So, I'm going to paint the kitchen a warm sort of a camel color, and paint the cabinets about the color of the table in the pictures, then add brushed stainless drawer pulls. I'm shooting for a look about like.

I'm thinking about a RED, maybe maroon color for the living room. The rest can stay as is for the time being. Dunno why I'm worrying about the living room - it's not like I've got furniture for it. But still..

I didn't like the pictures of this place either. It's actually better in person - just bland, but I love the way it's laid out. Very usable for way we like to live. It grew on me when we went through it the second time..

Not as choppy as it looks in the pictures, oddly. The kitchen/dinette/living room are separate by a knee wall, then the family room is down a few steps from the kitchen. The walkway into the kitchen doesn't seem narrow at all when you're looking at it - it's an artifact of the pictures. What I HATE about the kitchen, which doesn't show up in the pictures, is the cabinets. Normally I like wood, but these look like some kind of fake, cabiny 50s thing in real life. I'm painting them before we even move in..

The trees screen a shared neighborhood yard area, and then a not-too-busy street, so that's fine. They're on the west, and there's plenty of unshaded yard to the side, including some raised planting beds, for gardening..

Fireplace is wood, but we might convert it to gas - the place has natural gas plumbed in, so it wouldn't be hard. I love wood, but don't like the mess..

The sellers of the other house are just determined to not commit until they find a house, and I refuse to be kept hanging without some date on which we'll actually get the house. As it stands, they just want to renew our offer every three weeks, at their discretion, until they find something, with no end in sight. Sheesh, I can rent and have that kind deal..

I'll be sure to put the duvet cover in the offer and get that right off to you. lol..
