Quick question... Does the Medifast Diet work? Is it healthy? Many thanks for any answer or 2. Another quick question... Today is my first day, so far so good..

I've had 2 bars and a shake. I'm hungry but not starving..

Thinking about having the chicken noodle soup for a late lunch, can some of you recommend your favorite Medifast foods?.

I started a week ago, and I am still figuring things out. I love the Dutch chocolate shakes and the scrambled eggs (but only if I whisk them first). Good luck to you! There seems to be a ton of info on these boards, I hope you find some great ideas...

My favorites are the cinnamon pretzels, peanut butter, chocolate mint, and lemon bars, chili cheese puffs and the brownies. I also love the swiss mocha and dutch chocolate shakes. The cranberry mango cold drink is also really yummy..

I would wait a week or two before trying the oatmeal. People either adore it, or they can't get past the taste or texture. Taste wise, some people really taste the vitamin/mineral mix, which can be bitter to some, while others don't notice it at all. If you find you don't like it, try making muffins out of it. The recipe forum has many different ones..

Personally, I don't eat any of the soups or oatmeal although the chicken soup was probably the best of the lot to me. I like most everything else. The awesome thing is, there's a lot of variety to keep you going for the long haul.

Also, you'll see a lot of recipes that post up ways to change up the Medifast meals. Just remember that everything you add needs to be taken from your 3 condiments per day..

And chug that water! it really is a crucial part of the plan and it does help to keep you feeling fuller..

Best of luck to you!..

I am working on reviewing all the Medifast food that I try and keep record of it.

Tastes can vary so greatly and it seems that what someone loves another detests, except the Maryland Crab Soup. It seems most people don't care for it, but I haven't tried it yet..

My Favorites are:.

Brownie (I make it with cold coffee instead of water).

Swiss Mocha Shake blended with coffee & ice.

Blueberry Oatmeal.

Mint Chocolate Crunch bars, frozen.

Peanut Butter Crunch bars.

Lemon Crunch bars.

*I love those crunch bars, but I find the bars to be the least filling*.

I am really into jazzing up my Medifast food (watch your condiments if you try it), so if you want some ideas to change up something you don't like or try something new, check out the recipe section of the forums or my blog...

I have a question - when people say "soak" the soups, does that mean mix the soup mix and the water and just let it sit? Does it need to be covered or put in fridge? Just clarifying because I would like to try a soup today or tomorrow but wanted to be sure I knew what I was doing first! LOL..

I think it means either. I usually measure out 1-2 hot cups from the tap, add the packet and mix... let it sit on the counter. I have never soaked overnight... I soaked this morning around 10am and ate it about 1pm... was yummy! And you never know what you're doing... LOL..

Sorry Nana, I didn't see your question! They say half you body weight in ounces of water. So I weight 216, so half would be 108 ounces of water at minimum. Medifast says 60, but most posters will say that you will see better results if you keep on chugging.

Plus, it fills you up, which is good, particularly in the beginning!.

Definitely soak the soups in hot or cold water to soften up some of those veggies and particularly the beans in the chili. Some people add hot water to the packet in a thermos and say by lunch that it's perfect. I've soaked overnight in cold in the fridge and it was fine. I actually forgot it for a few days and it was fine lol...

My favorites:.

Peanut butter crunch bars.

Honey mustard pretzels (very crunchy).

Cinnamin pretzels (very crunchy).

Chocolate pudding (only when I make it in the morning and let set in fridge all day...I eat it as my last snack in bed talking to hubby...my treat for making it thru the day).

Maple Oatmeal- with 2 packets of splenda.

Broccoli cheese soup.

Chicken noodle soup (only when I let it sit for an hour or so before eating...needs to soak for a while...tastes much better)..

Dutch chocolate shakes.

I CANNOT get down anymore the:.

Mf scrambled eggs (I eat a regular egg).

I've had the soy crisps, cheese puffs, vegetable crackers, cinnamin crisps and a few others and they are all okay. Just not on my favorites list...
