My question is Has anyone ever heard of Medifast,its for dieting? has anyone had good results from it? Many thanks for any answer or 2. Second question of mine... Here We Go!!!.

Today is the start of the SweetHeart Challenge! This challenge will run Nov 1, today through Valentine's Day, 2011. That is about 15 weeks, 15 weigh-ins! Please post your beginning weight and measurements. We will report weigh-ins every Monday and measurements will only be done at the beginning and end of challenge!.

Many will reach their goal during this challenge but one thing is for sure....15 weeks is a good amount of time and we are going to see some tremendous weight-losses and new people emerge!.

I so enjoyed the Slash the Pounds challenge...it went by so quickly and was a great success. Thanks to those who kept up with our stats and started the challenge!.

Hey can I join the sweetheart challenge? I have been trying to get into some challenge for weeks and I always join too late or something. I am 22, down 9 pounds and have have 10.6 very stubborn pounds to go. I started medifast because even though I ate relatively healthy food, I had absolutely NO portion control. I am so glad I started this program! I wish I started sooner!! I don't own measuring tape, so I didn't take measurements when I started medifast and wish I did...

Okay. I could feel this challenge was important for me to join, because before I measured I took my shower and washed my hair. It took on the form of ritual for me. I could not have measured myself when I started MF, because I could't have stood the shock of the numbers then. I have gotten another Medifast gift: bravery..

I stood in front of the full length mirror in my husband's study all cellulite and cottage chees at 62 years. I wanted to make sure I measured the widest parts. Here are my current measurements:.


Waist= 37.

Hips= 40".


Knees+ 14& 1/4".

Calves+ 14& 1/4".


Shoe size 11 to 101/2 (depending on maker) simce I've been this size since Jr. High I guess my feet won't shrink..

Long arms and legs, too long for regular length pants evem when I wore a size 8..

Height= 5'8".

I measured my bust wearing my best fitting bra. Since I am 62, once upon a time nursed my babies, and have had jugs my entire life, the "girls" are all over the place. I held them still and measured. Bra size= 38 K. and yes, I am a hazard according to airport security..

I want to thank you for this opportunity to accomplish this measurement goal. I really did not want to know, but am glad it's part of this challenge..

Since I've eaten already today, I'll add the weight # tomorrow..

I so totally want to do this. I'm smack in the middle of week 4 and I'm having a bit of a stall, this morning it appears that the scale had gone up a pound and my ticker has not moved since the day after I weighed at the end of week two. I need all the motivation I can get..

Felicat... Don't be so hard on yourself. A 10 pound loss for a month long time frame is an AWESOME result and you have lost that in 3 weeks! Cheer up, your ticker will get moving again after your body adjusts to the shock you just gave it..

I try to go for 2-3 pounds per week loss on average each month because it is healthy, sustainable loss that won't throw your body into shock and into the dreaded "plateau"..

Good evening, everyone! I just got home and am beginning to collect everyone's stats! I work full-time so give me a few days! I will collect stats every Monday and try to have them posted by Wed mornings (that gives stragglers time to post.

Thank you so much for organizing this challenge and keeping the stats. I am also very happy that you have an open enrollment policy. I'm a relative Newbie. Today marks the start of week 5 for me. When I looked over the groups before, I didn't know how to join. You've made being part of a group challenge very easy..

Pushingoff/Starting weight: 178lbs. I just weighed myself and am -4lbs., the previous week hand been only -1 lb. So, I'm jumping in the deep end with a big smile on my face!.

Bethie - You are so welcome! It is not as hard as I thought to keep up with everything and I am thankful to everyone for helping me, as well! I meant it when I said I had never made it more than half-way on a diet. I am only 4.5 lbs from my half-way mark and psychologically was getting nervous. You see, I'm already down to a size medium, 10s and am looking and feeling pretty good. I had begun to slip here and there...a couple bites of someone's sweet potatoe, a bite of cake, not getting all my water in...and I thought "uh-oh". With this challenge, I re-dedicate myself to 100%...even through the holidays! I am proud to be your first challenge! Be sure and add me to your friends list..

Jen - I love your 15 week chart to log your weight on the end of your post. It shows you just how fast this is going to go. I started a challenge the week after I joined...it was going to be 7 weeks thru Halloween and I thought that seemed like forever at the time! It is already over! The 100 days til Christmas Challenge is down to 53 days left! As I said, 15 weeks, 15 weigh-ins...it is so do-able and we are going to see some real butterflies emerging here! Time is going to fly whether you are OP or not....why not make the time work in your favor?.

Still touched by the amount of amazing newbies onboard! Kudos to you all...this is not the easiest time of year to begin a weight-loss program but it IS, perhaps, the smartest time of year to begin one. You are going to hit the New Year lighter, healthier, more energetic and completely excited about buying some new spring clothes! From someone who started on 9/2 in a size 16, XL, let me say that it is so exciting! Medifast is the fastest way to lose I've ever seen and I've done them all! Hang with us....SweetHearts are going to rock in the New Year!.

I love the idea of this challenge, to get us all through the holidays together and OP..

I'm in too :-) I started October 31st, and look forward to getting this excess weight off once and for all. I've done Medifast before, so I know it works great..

Starting weight: 181 lbs.

Upper arm: 17 in.

Chest: 45 in.

Waist: 42 in.

Hips: 45.5 in.

Thigh: 27 in..

This is an open enrollment challenge, which means you may join at anytime! The only thing I ask is to have your Monday weight posted by Tuesday evening. I will always have weekly stats in by Wednesday mornings! I like to give people an extra day to post as "life happens".

I have kind of a fun idea for this challenge....you may be aware that in the "100 days til Christmas Challenge", most are donating a pound can of food to their local foodbank for every pound they lose by Christmas...it is a wonderful way to lose weight and GIVE..

I wanted something fun and motivating for the SweetHeart Challenge too...something for you all to actually see your loss! I am ordering bags and bags of Valentine heart candy. I'm taking a big 5 gallon jar and every week, I will add heart candy in the amount to equal what the group loses. If we lose 100 lbs total one week, 100 pieces of heart candy go in the jar. I will post a picture of the jar on my page and update it every Wednesday. At the end of the challenge, I am taking the jar to the Family Shelter (not far from my office) to give to the children there. The name of the shelter is "Safe Haven"...it is for homeless families with kids.

Who knows how many 5 gallon jars we might fill?!!! I don't even begin to guess BUT the kids will LOVE IT.

I'll be sure to take lots of pics...these children endure many hardships and they love any expression of caring from others. Let's give these kids a Valentine's Day to remember (with lots of love, of course!).

The candy hearts come in the traditional "small" size but also come in a bigger size. If the candy begins to get "out of control", I will substitute one large heart for 10 small ones..

I think it will be fun!.

As for me, I have three trips out of town coming up...one on Thanksgiving, Dec 1 and one on Jan 2. I need this challenge! Accountability to this group (and the two others I belong to) is so important to my success. I have met several LOVELY people here who I am so tickled to be online buds with. You guys have helped me more than you'll ever know...you probably know who you are and I thank you..

My secretary is working on the spreadsheet tonight....this week we are just getting all the names, weights and measurements down. The official sheet will be posted next Wednesday with our first week's loss. If you see a mistake, do not hesitate to let me know..

Yes, great idea with the candy Lisa. I am at family shelters often as part of my job and I know the kids would love to have a special Valentine's treat. There are no words for what they go through, yet stay so resilent. I would be happy to send you a few $$ toward the purchase of the candy...

What an awesome idea to donate candy to the shelter! I know we do our weight weekly, but how often do we have to do our measurements.monthly, or just at the end of the challenge?.

A red dress for valentines sounds fun! I would love to be in the 150s by then. I can't even remember the last time my weight was that low, more than a decade ago...

Thanks Lisa! This is a great group - let's be strong for each other - I need this challenge. My goals are to lose 10 lbs a month through the challenge. I want to be to goal by my birthday March 28th and the last time I was on Medifast (2008) - it was the Holidays that derailed me.

Jodi, measurements are just beginning and end of challenge. However, please log your measurements on your personal log whenever you choose! I'm mainly just keeping up with lbs lost and beginning/ending measurements. I would do more but I work such crazy hours, I had to keep this simple.

That is also why I didn't ask for "goals"...the goal is to be as 100% as you can until Val Day...to see how much you can possibly get off by then..

But, I know how good it feels to give and wouldn't deprive you of that!!!.

The candy is a great visual reminder and the donation idea is awesome! I also like weighing in, and Mondays are a good day to do that. It will hold me accountable for the weekends!.

Thanks for all the work you are putting into this Lisa! In the past, my weight loss always stops around 20 pounds, then I typically go crazy and gain it back. I think this challenge is a great way to keep motivated to go the distance!..

I love the Valentine's candy idea. These challenges really help me stay OP, but my Medifast friends do even more so. If I didn't have you guys I'm sure I would not have been OP as long as I have! Love you all!!..
