Quick question: Has anyone experienced bad side effects after using "Medifast Supreme" from GNC? Thanks for any response. Second question of mine... This challenge is open to anyone that wants to join! The goal is 30 days of exercise. Every day post what you've done for your exercise and for how long. On floor exercise days write down how many reps you did along with if youre doing sit-ups or crunches, full push-ups or girl ones, etc. Challenge yourself and see how much progress you make over 30days.



The daily goal is atleast 30 min of CARDIO. This can be a dvd, walking, running, turning up the radio and dancing, wii, anything that gets your blood pumping!.

Floor exercises- If you can't do this many reps, it's ok, do what you can. Challenge yourself!.

Days 1-10= 25 sit-ups/crunches, 10 push-ups(girl style is fine), 20 squats, 30 leg lifts per leg(either while standing or laying on side).

Days 11-20= 35 sit-ups/crunches, 15 push-ups, 30 squats, 40 leg lifts.

Days 21-30= 50 sit-ups/crunches, 20 push-ups, 40 squats, 50 leg lifts.

Daily schedule-.

Wednesday- 30 min cardio.

Thursday- 30 min cardio & floor exercises.

Friday- 30 min cardio.

Saturday- 30 min cardio & floor exercises.

Sunday-45 min cardio challenge- really push yourself and see what you can do!.

Monday- 30 min cardio.

Tuesday- 30 min cardio & floor exercises.

Remember to drink your water! If you havent ever measured yourself it may be a good time to start..

If you have an injury that prevents you from doing any of these try another exercise that you CAN do...

I'm in.... thanks. I've a question though, do we have a resting day after continuous 5-6 days or workout? Just a question.... i'm really good at brisk walking on the treadmill but never tried those floor exercises( crunches, leg lifts, etc) so I think this is a good opportunity to try them out....... I also do few mins of random ball exercise, can that be counted too???..

There are no rest days. Its 30 straight days of exercise. If you feel like it's too much you can always walk at a slower pace for a day. Its really about getting motivated and pushing yourself. Oh yea, go ahead and count the ball exercises. If you need to do the crunches on a ball thats fine too.

Anyone ever do the Biggest Looser DVD workouts? Friggin' Bob will kill you! I know Jillian already can kill the normal person - but those work-outs are good to get the calorie burn - they make you sweat - a LOT! LOL..

Techincally I don't do any ball exercise program, I just do it for fun, we have 2 big adult exer.balls for me and DH and 2 small ones for the 2 boys, I just sit on it do bouncing, do something like hulalooping, stretching,....etc., something fun, and oh yeah I love it.... I also sit on it and watch tv..

I'm in!!!! I soooo need the floor routine. I've been saying I need to do crunches and never seem to get on the floor!!! The cardio on Sundays will be a challenge too since I do TaeKwonDo with the kids the other 6 days a week, and I like my day off. I guess a nice walk around the neighborhood will do me good. This will also fall while I'm on vacation in April....another good motivation to keep my rear moving while away. Need to break the habit of "on vacation=eat all the time and sit on butt."..

I tried Julians 30 day shred on Sunday.. I was sore for 2 days, it really kicked my butt. But I plan on doing that for this challenge, and the days Im too sore Ill walk on the treadmill..

Oh that's a good one!!! I have like 3 or 4 different DVD's with Bob, Jillian and Kim. Ironically - I have a lot of fun with Kim's, Jillian just scares me.

And Bob - he gives a good butt kicking. All the DVD's have been great - and literally - I'm in a sweat in the first few minutes of working out..

My first time - I think I couldn't walk for a week! LOL I'm ready to go at it tonight as soon as I get home (insert scared smilie here!!!!)..

To be honest i've never tried any of these dvd's!!! do they play in your dvd player or do you need any special equipment??? and also do you need any weights, exercise ball etc to do these workouts??? I'm sorry if this is a dumb question..

Day 1 - I got 30 min of a preprogrammed weight loss routine on my treadmill in. I feel pretty good. Does anyone use a night boot for plantar fasciitis and does it work?.

For the 30-day shred you need hand weights (I use 3-pound weights), but Im pretty sure you could use soup cans if need be..

Thanks, I have 3-pound weights too, I use them while brisk walking on the treadmill for 20 mins to get that extra kick......wow I think I should buy one of those dvds'.....

Worked out on the treadmill for 30 minutes - did one of the 30 minute pre-programs on my treadmill - I feel good - may go back and do a round of weight training!.

Yes I have the boot. I hate to wear it regularly, but boy does it ever work. My feet feel great and I tried just about everything till the doc gave me my boot. Hope it'll help you too...

My boys have been taking longer, but my dh, dd, and I started the end of January. I'll be testing for my yellow belt the first week of April. I LOVE it though. I agree with the workout. Family class is always a bit stepped up when this family of black belts show....they were there tonight.....good class, but my thighs hurt!!! The boys just received their green stripes. We are hoping to step it up a gear or two this summer and get to blue stripes before we leave for Germany and have to learn a tad bit differently. We'll see if I'll make it...

I got my walking in today, but not like I wanted to. My daughter had a tumbling class tonight and they have a walking track around the floor. As I walked, people kept stopping me to talk and ask me questions. grrrr. When I came home I tried to walk on my treadmill some more, but my son needed help with his homework, the dog needed to go out and my daughter needed help with her hair after her shower.....It was not meant to be tonight!!! But, I got about 25 minutes in at least!..

I have to tell you, when I saw your post this morning, I was thinking, "oh, that sounds good". But at the same time I was looking at the start date you posted and thinking to myself "PLEASE don't let today be the 24th" (over and over in my head). I clicked on the calendar and there it was...the 24th. Then, I thought about it off and on throughout the day...wondering if I could do it, because of my Fibromyalgia. Finally, at 11:00 p.m. I remembered you and thought to myself..."you can continue to make excuses or you can 'just do it'." So, here I am.



Although I'm so out of shape, I think it could almost count as cardio (ha, ha). Anyway, I will get on track. Color me "IN" and thanks for starting this thread...

I know it's very late in the midnight but I was too busy to report my day-1 inputs.

We had this terrible snowstorm on tuesday dumping in 20" or so , so I shovelled the snow for about an hour or more than that.

I was feeling like I ran a mile on a hot summer day, it burned my butt and kicked it up a notch.

So well thats my exercise for the day 1, thought of getting on that treadmill later but I was too sore all over the body, and oh yeah when I did put it in myplan under log exercise and selected snow shoveling for 1 hour manually it showed as 479 calories burned, woohoo....... i'll take that....hopefully i'll be alright tomorrow to do cardio+floor exercises, just feel awful right now.........

I would like to join this Challenge as well - but I am a day late...can I make that day up by going 1 day over and still be a part of this?.

If so, where do we post our workout per day...on this thread or in our own blogs?.

Day 1: swam laps for 1 hour and walked for 1 hour.

Day 2: walked 1 hour and dis floor exercise!!.

This is great! So motivating because you have to be accountable!! It's much harder to come up with reasonable sounding excuses when you have to share them with others!..

Yesterday the 24th I walked a half hour on the treadmill and also today I will do the floor excersises later today. I am keeping it low impact because I dont want to ruin my wl challenge next week kicking it up thanks..

Day 2 -.

Gotta tell ya - my husband and I got home after work/dinner and I was EXHAUSTED. Have been all week - not sleeping well. So I said 'I'm too tired to work out'. Then I decided 'well - I'll just do the floor routine' - and I did - all of it. Then I looked at my husband and said "I feel badly - I've made a comitment - I HAVE to do 30 minutes on the treadmill - will you come work out with me?" Naturally - sweetheart that he is - he did - and he too was dog tired. So I did 30 minutes hard on the treadmill - THEN I did some weight training.

Over acheiver!!!!!.

Thanks ladies - glad I have you all - you are keeping me accountable. I made a comitment and I don't like to break those to myself or anyone else..

I LOVE this board and all of you - I feel sooooo good. But those friggin crunches are gonna hurt tomorrow! Good for me I already set up a time for a masage for tomorrow! LOL..

25 situps, 10 pushups (girlie kind), 20 squats, and 30 leg lifts.

I did a 30 minute, 2 mile Leslie Sansone DVD today with aerobic walking for both miles, and strength training with the cables in the second mile. It wasn't the floor exercises, but I sure felt it!..

Wow good for you, thats the spirit! that exact same thing happened to me today, I was dying tired but since I was committed I did the treadmill, then thought for sure no more floor exer. today but later did 25 squats, 12 crunches.

And all of the leglifts..... now I don't feel my body anymore, lol.....great going ladies (& guys? )..

Shush, you're not stupid. Girlie push-ups are when you're on your knees instead of your toes. Its kind of a half plank position. Which brings me to another exercise, If youre not good with sit-ups you could go into plank postion(balance on elbows and knees/toes with body straight) for as long as you can hold it. It really helps the core muscles...

I'm not sure if it was the floor exercises (2 days in a row, because I didn't pay attention to "Coach L's" instructions) or the Kettlebell DVD...but I'm having a hard time getting on and off the toilet. YIKES. Feel the burn. I guess I'm getting extra squats in??? LOL..

Good for you! Silly question for you...is the DVD done with a treadmill OR a walk in place kind of thing? I almost asked you a REALLY silly question...do you to it ON a walk or at home...key word..DVD. I need more sleep than I'm getting...can you tell? I have seen the "walking DVD's", but I wasn't sure if they were to be used with the treadmill. I have two treadmills (coatracks as my ex husband calls them). One is a really good one, but needs some work. The other one is a lower end and doesn't go very fast. Thanks!..

I am SO proud of myself. I haven't exercised in YEARS (except for the past two days with this challenge). I actually made it 30 minutes on the treadmill. No break...just kept walking. I also have yet another reason to stay 100% OP. When I saw that I burned 380 calories and compared that amount to the number of calories in the food I was eating before M.F...WOW.

I know I can maintain it once I get to goal. I hope everyone is doing well! Lauri..

Just did the floor exercises, didn't get enough time to go on the treadmill.

Will I be kicked off this thread for not doing cardio ladies.

Just kidding.....i was soooooo dog busy today, was totally on my legs the whole day grocery shopping, took kids to the park, etc.,.....almost 4-5 hrs.... I guess thats counted too ? Anyway i'll makeup for the cardio tomorrow for an hour on the treadmill.....good job you all, I feel so great coming here.......

Hi everybody:.

The day has gotten away from from me. It's 10:45 p.m. (PST). I did, however, do all the floor exercises and added 20 more side crunches (I don't remember what they are really called...but I want my waist back); added the extra leg lifts (lying on my back) - 25 extra; I did something else "extra", but can't remember what it was. Trust me though...I'm sure it was something good. The bad news (for me)...no "traditional" cardio.

Briskwalked 1 hour on the treadmill (3.1m) I made up for the 30min cardio from yesterday, yay.... did all thefloor exercises today coz I missed 'em yesterday, except that I was not able to do more than 8 crunches after such a long walk.

So I have been without Internet for a while and need to log my exercise since Thurs!.

I started a day late so I will go a day more.

3/25 - 30 minute floor exercises (30 reps of situps, side sit ups, leg lifts, squats, and lunges).

3/26 - 40 minute walk around Philly during lunch, burrrr!.

3/27 - Play date with 3 kids - walked Mall with strollers for 1 hour, at home that night I did Yoga (DVD) for 20 min.

3/28 - Floor exercises (20 reps of the above...I was a bit tired!).

3/29 - coming soon.......

Okay my challange friends - got my workout in on Saturday - twice! I was a good girl. Yesterday (Sunday) I didn't actually do my cardio - but I did a HUGE Spring cleaning on my house (to the point where I couldn't hardly move by 7pm last night!!!!) and I worked up a sweat - so I figure that WAS my workout!.

What is today (Monday)? 30 min cardio isn't it? Think I will go for a bike ride since the wind had FINALLY calmed down around here - those 30 MPH winds make it a pain in the butt to try to ride my bike!..
