My question is Has anyone tried Medifast. did it make you loose weight; if so how long.? Looking forward for any answer or 2. Second question of mine... Come one! Come all! And join the GAW (Grown (***) Woman (and Men, too)) summer 100 mile challenge!!.

Duration of challenge: March 22nd - June 21st..

This challenge is to get you up and moving and logging any miles you can that are going to help you to get to GOAL! The rules are VERY easy..

1) Select a ticker (ie..

) Set your goal @ 100 miles and everytime you walk, wog, jog, run, bike or use your eliptical, input those miles and update your ticker! VOILA!!! You'll be able to visually see your goal and your progress. It's very exciting!.

2) If your activity level is high, you can set your ticker goal @ 150 or 200+ miles if you choose..

3) Come to the GAW/GAM board to give a shout out of your miles and how you're doing. Post photos too if you have them! There's great support here and the accountability is certainly present..

4) This last rule is very critical.....HAVE FUN!!!!.

NOW LET'S GET MOVING PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!..

You can just secure the sensor to the shoelaces of whatever shoe you like. They even make some pretty neoprene sensor holders that you can buy off amazon for a few dollars...

I even figured out how to use my nike sensor without having to strap it to my foot with athletic tape. There is enough room up by my toes to tuck it in there. Im psyched!!..

There are TONS of different seats out there that can allow you to ride. The one you are talking about, ones that look like two islands for your "sit bones". That and bike shorts are the only way I can ride. Of course, the first few times I ride my bike on the road (it is on the trainer in the winter), my butt is NOT happy until it gets used to it all over again..

Go to a local bike store (not a chain store) and try a bunch of seats out. Biking is just plain fun and really good cross training for running..

And can I say 8 pounds or greater!!! Dang girl!..

Okay, gotta ask, but please, please be nice to me!.

Today and Thursday I've felt a bit lightheaded around 10am. I've been OP and exercising and seen significant weight loss this week and last (-4.2 yesterday's weigh in, -3.something last week, too). This is the beginning of month 3 Medifast for me..

I'm suspecting that I"m not eating enough early in the day, and thus the light-headedness sets in with my coupled exercise. I right now eat at 7/7:30am, then at 10/10:30. I wake around 6am/6:30. My suspicion is if I eat Medifast at 7am and 9am, then my body will be better. Today I ate at 7:30, did pilates, then at 10am had my egg-white omelet w/ veggies...but started feeling light-headed while I ate...came home and ate Medifast meal at 11, still woozy at 11:30 so ate half bag of puffs. Now I'm feeling better, but....

WHAT THE HECK?! I'm exercising within the guidelines (normal workouts are <500 calories and yesterday's long was only 540 calories burned...totally under 1000 calories!). I drink TONS of water - had probably 5 liters yesterday. Chose 70 shakes yesterday for the extra protein, was not hungry at all yesterday (had to force LG down!). Had a LF string cheese for extra protein...not sure what else to do?!.

I'm not hungry. Feeling great, just head-floaty-ness. Ideas anyone?..

My best guess is that you are spacing your eating around time, not what you are doing. With no fuel since the night before, by the time you finish your workout, all the stored glycogen in your muscles is used up and you are experiencing the beginnings of what people call Bonking. (Yeah, real scientific name there, but it is accurate anyway). You should eat when you get up at 6:00, do your workout and then eat afterward..

Make sure you hydrate as well, but it sounds like you have a handle on that. If you are unsure how much liquid you need to compensate for your sweat. Here is how to do it. Weigh yourself (naked) right before a work out. Work out with out drinking anything at all. Weigh yourself directly afterward (naked again) The difference in weight is how much water you loose.

I loose about 16 oz of water in a 1/2 hour of intense cardio. That is more than usual- and most of it is from my head!..

Thanks, Robin! I'll focus more on eating around exercising -that makes sense!.

Today I felt hungry different times...not gnawing, but hungry every 2 hrs...so I just said 'screw my schedule' and ate anyways. I'll just have to space my other meals out 3 hrs apart, or go for a snack of celery if needed.

THANK YOU!..

Ugh - still a bit fuzzy/lightheaded when I do several 4 mile or + days in a row. I'm adding protein, drinking tons of water, and ensuring I have enough sodium (bit of deli turkey)..

But I haven't switched to having a meal at 6am pre-workout yet...I'm kinda dreading doing that b/c then I have to space my meals differently, and on a teacher's schedule that's tough. I'll have to have a shake pre-made, and drink it while teaching. Some students complain that I eat in front of them, but I've explained I'm training for a race and my body needs calories to not pass out...they get it...but are 13 and are paid for whining (it seems)..

The other day I had a Medifast crackers & LC cheese in the middle of the day, and that seemed to really help the gnawing hunger and no lightheadedness. But, I don't want to depend on more carbs b/c I want to lose weight!.

Ah well, I'll weigh in tomorrow and see how this week went. I probably should switch to eating pre-workout...that makes sense. Oh, and gotta update my ticker!..

Still Good for you. Many many many many people would use that as an excuse to to nothing at all!. There is a product called "second skin" (or something close) that you can get to cover the area that is being rubbed wrong. It is meant for "road burn" type injuries that need some portection, are burns that need to have air or are too big to bandage. It offers protection but still allows the skin to "breath". It will be in the bandage section of the drug store...
