Geri, I am happy for you that everything is going so well for you right now!! Congratulations! WHAT FUN your sister is going to FLIP when you share your photos with her...already I cannot wait to hear about her response...and HOW COOL to be able to use the ANTICIPATION of her response as a great motivator to continue your success!!.

I am - usually - an open book...even in regards to my diet...even with those who don't get it. I guess it comes from understanding that I am choosing a plan that works well for me....and perhaps it comes from finally understanding more and more about who and how I am....and being okay with myself...(okay, so I am having a rough patch...but I have come a long way). I have a friend from high school who is in town right now...and he was asking me why I didn't tell him what restaurant I wanted to go to with him. He suggested two steak restaurants either of which I could choose my protein and have a salad...and I am not so picky so long as I could stay on plan. (Besides, both were high end, very nice restaurants...so, in that case, who cares?! when either would be a huge treat?!!) I actually thought we had communicated well I told him that I would join him for lunch so long as it was somewhere where I could easily purchase protein and veggies/salad. He suggested fish or steak.

I ordered on plan, drank water, skipped the bread. It was easy and I had a nice time. He questioned me further why I would not tell him which place was better for my diet, why did I allow the server to bring bread to the table and tempt me, etc.? There is a story behind this that I will not go into now...but rarely does it bother me for others to eat something that I choose not to...and if I have any indication that it will be difficult for me to resist then I just decline or excuse myself ahead of time. So, the conversation went further...eventually to the point I guess I was thinking about when I read your post that I am okay with the plan that I have chosen for myself...and I am not sure that this is the plan for everyone...just as, at the time (and time again and time again and time again), WW wasn't the plan for me...even though I don't think badly of it. I guess what bothers me is the food fights and this is what I was explaining to my friend...

Understand that I think there is a difference in sharing how we are making this work and encouraging each other... The point though is that I don't take the food fights so personally when I consider my choices as valid and true to my own needs...as an extention of knowing myself...as an extention of what I have written about on previous posts with this team a sort of prepared centeredness..

Hmmm...interesting...how this is crossing over into my thoughts written earliier in response to KRISTA's post. Knowing who and how I am...that my mistakes are not me in such a way that I cannot move on perhaps they are more a part of me in that I have created a negative experience by them...but they are not who I am...and also not how I am...I so want to know that they are not how I am...and I can only prove that by...right here...right now...changing my behaviors...choosing me...a healthy me...over...well,...nevermind...I am choosing me...I am choosing what is right...what is natural...just as my body might respond to a lover full of emotion, desire, care, anticipation, etc. my body now responds to what is inherent within. I know what is right for me....clearly...perhaps not without emotion mixing what is right with all else...like the choas of colors in a tie-dyed t-shirt, like the mess that comes with creating such chaos...but also not without want...not without knowing...knowing that I just have to give myself permission to accept myself...accept myself so that I can forgive myself... Compassion? Where are you? Ready or not here I come..

It is tempting to not post this jumble of words. Surely they mean more to me because I know what I think as I write them...than they will to you...if you dare spend your time reading them. Somehow I feel the need to...well, to push myself to share...even if my words are not met with understanding...or response...

It's largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go..

You're not finished when you're defeated,.

You're only finished when you quit..

The most important quality essential to success is perseverance..

It overcomes almost everything, even nature..

You can have a fresh start any time you choose,.

For "failure" is not in the falling down, but in the staying down..

It's not over until it's over..

If you've got the courage to stick it out, you'll attain your goal..

Wanting to win is everything..

Wow, I love this and so, so truePERSEVERANCE, COURAGE, WANTING TO WINall great words that lead to success. As long as you stick with it even during the hard times and/or the slip ups, you will succeed. As they say failure is not in the falling down, but in the stay down. As long as you pick yourself up and continue on plan you will succeed. I cannot stress that enough. In the past Ive always given up after I cheated, not any more.

I believe in all of you, now you all have to believe in yourselves and we will all succeed one day at a time..

Good Morning Bronze Teams Member:.

Hope everyone had an awesome 100% OP weekend..

Mine was good -Saturday I went to work, Sunday I.

Did alot of catching up, my Posts and schoolwork..

Yesterday I also did my 3rd day of Leslie Sansone -.

I did another 2 miles. Feels so awesome. She is so.

Motivating. I would recommend her to anyone who.

Wants an easy to follow, but very motivating and energizing.

Work out I would say try it. Oh yesterday was my 4th.

Official Weigh-In. I lost another 3 pounds. For a total.

Of 33.6 pounds. Today I measured myself and I lost.

Another 5 1/2 inches for a total of 16 3/4 inches..

So the walking definitely helped. Good luck to all the.

Monday Weighers. Hope your ticker moves down..

Remember 1 pound lost is an accomplishment it.

Gets you 1 step closer to your next Mini- Goal and.

Your Final Goal. Even if the scale is not what you.

Expected or hoped. Don't forget about your Non-Scale.

Victories- clothes fitting looser or falling off, walk with.

More ease- no pound heart or aches in pain or less then.

The last time. So have an awesome 100% OP day...

I haven't spent much time on any other groups, because I believe I have found the best of the best on this program right here on this team. You ALL are the most amazingly insightful, motivating and encouraging people I could ever want to be associated with. As a newbie, I have not faced the challenges that many of you speak of. I almost said...I have not "yet" faced the challenges that....

The reason I did not include the word "yet" is because my husband always stops and corrects me when I use it in a statement:.

I haven't had a wreck "yet".

I haven't lost my keys "yet".

I haven't cheated on my diet "yet".

He reminds me that "yet" is an expectation word. That when I say it, even though nothing has happened "yet", I am expecting that it will someday happen. I have become so conscious of this now that whenever I hear anyone else use that word, I immediately want to point out what they are saying..

And so, I will not say that I have not "yet" fallen off of the wagon and cheated on this program because I am not going to expect that I will cheat. Even so, if that were to happen...lol...I plan to follow the example of all you seasoned Medifast warriors who have picked yourselves back up and gotten back up on the wagon and pressed on in your battle to lose the weight once and for all..

Thank you for showing how it is done!!!..

I love fall, too...and spring..

Unfortunately, our "fall" and "spring" is like a lot of people's "winter" and "summer." Like I've posted before, on Christmas, we've worn shorts. It will start getting cool here around November. That's when we go outside (because the spiders have died) and just sit for hours. Ahhh.... I just realized I need a second home for the summer. Anyone want to buy me one? I prefer one in an area with temps around 70 to 80 degrees.

...a question I posted on another loop..

Where is that perfect place in the US that has beautiful year-round weather, low crime, good education, plenty to do and a low cost of living? Anyone? Anyone?..

Chanda you rock! Almost there yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Pammi - Good luck this week! I remember my former coach said that sometimes, even though they are approved, that the bars, etc... should be limited. Or, as you are doing, eliminated for a week or so. Hang in there!.

Geri - I'm going to have to look up Leslie Sansone. It sounds like she is really motivating for you!.

Alana I love that! Never say "never" or "yet" got it! (-:.

MH - A go-cart! what fun!!!!!.

Cool weather goes with fall??? Like a few others from TX we know it's more like Indian Summer still around here. High on my car's thermometer yesterday was 93. Evenings are cool though but just very pleasant. Our night's lows are usually the north's daily highs. Ahh, who am I kidding, our night's lows are usually HIGHER than the north's daily highs. But at this time of the year not by much.

I, too, wonder where the perfect place might be. I have relatives in the mountains of North Carolina and when I visit there I think that might come pretty close to my idea of perfect..

And to everyone have a super day!!!.

TA~Southwest Louisiana fits the bill, all except for the much to do. There is absolutely nothing to do here that is not outdoor related or related to eating...LOL.

I had a GREAT weekend, a weekend to rejuvenate my reasons for dieting and maintaining. We went to church early Sunday morning and met an old co-worker of mine there (teacher). She had been sitting behind us during church. She said she kept looking at my back and saying to herself "is it her?" and if not, what is that young chick doing with that old man? AND finally when I flipped my hair (how many of you are perpetual hair flippers?), she realized it had to be me. HEEHEE My hubby pretended not to hear her comment..

Also, my in-laws had a get together to celebrate my MIL's 80th birthday. I had not seen this side of the family since Christmas (at that time I was in a size 9, don't remember how much I weighed). Even though it was this side of the family who got me started on the Medifast journey (three of my inlaws were doing it), one has since had a baby, the other is antisocial and was not there, and the third has given up entirely and has gained the 50 pounds back that she had lost at Christmas. Soooo...again...the rest of the inlaws were asking what kind of diet I was doing and again, how much does it cost. Do you guys get that a lot? About the cost I mean? I swear I keep trying to convince the reluctant ones who shy away from Medifast because of the cost that in the long run, Medifast pays for itself. Hubby and I ate out less, our grocery bill was less because I was not buying junk food for me, and eventually I would imagine, our medical bills will be less because I am no longer eating my way to a heart attack..

Hubby took a physical last week and even though the man is only 19% body fat, his triglycerides were high, his cholesterol was borderline high. He needs to exercise and go on a heart healthy diet. I am not happy to hear about that in one way but in another way, it helps me on my journey to maintaining since he will have to be eating pretty much the same things as I will now which makes my journey ohhhh sooooo much easier. The boy at home is not too happy with the idea of eating only healthy foods though..

Anyhoo, I have been away from the puter' as much as possible since I work so much on the dang thing I hate to see it even during play. I have one week left until the boss returns and I am counting the days with joy....Also, the season premiere of House was last night so that kept me away from the puter as well..

I read all the backlog of posts, I see some are struggling, some are not....I am thinking about all of you and I hope everyone who is struggling finds that "something" within themselves to carry on with this journey..

Oak, I miss you, girl...Where are you?.

Oooohhh! AAAAWWWW! I couldn't post this week. I am in Off Plan PAIN and having Birthday remorse. My birthday week was a bust with food and so was The Plan, and my stomach. (Great friends surprise party, but they didn't encourage me to eat- that was my fault!) How do you spell pain? It's spelled 194.5 + 20.5=215 pounds! (Sept 8 to Sept 19th) My last weigh in was 202 after gaining 7 pounds. If I weighed in Monday the Team would have me buried alive... another ADDITIONAL +13 pounds in one week is.ooooh ! @#$%$#@(*&^$...

.. ( I'm furious with myself! ARGH ! If I were a vampire, I'd bite myself!) I can't talk about it anymore..

Dunderhead! I AM BACK ON PLAN! I WILL BE THIN! My doctor suggested a medifast break for a day, because I was struggling so hard to stay on plan. The problem is "eating carbs" - snacks/ soycrisps, crackers. It seems I can't eat just one..

Well, I've had my break for sure! I've been OFF-PLAN all week, and if anyone wants to know, all those cravings and foods you think you are missing- they are NOT "all that"! I tried a little of everything! (And a LOT of somethings AFTER the birthday! Don't ask!) AND IT WASN'T EVEN GOOD. I thought I was missing something. I kept eating to find something terrific. I wasn't missing a thing! AND I FEEL LOUSY! My stomach HURTS, AND I GAINED a FLIPPING 20 POUNDS!.

You know what's terrific?.Loose pants. Great photos! A mostly empty stomach! Compliments! Being in ONEDERLAND!.

Well.STEP back from the platform.the train is coming.EXPRESS TRAIN to ONEDERLAND!!.ALL ABOARD!!! >>>>>>>Whoo! Whoo! (good gracious I'm mad with myself!).

To tears! You all are too good to be my friends. Boo-hoo! I should be horse whipped. I don't think I can forgive myself ...at least until I've lost this gain. What a waste of time and money! Uh! (Tears & ROLLING EYES DISGUSTED) Stick me with a fork and turn me over. I'm DONE! I am not going to speak to myself ever again (with an excuse about why it's O.k. to be a little OFF -PLAN) It's NOT O.K.! Getting furiouser and furiouser..

NOW put on those skinny pants again. Can't zip them, can you? Idiot!.

Gosh, I'm sorry Bronze team for going off. That wasn't very positive was it? I started blogging and got carried away... I'll try extra hard from today. Anyone know how I can I lose 40 pounds by next week's weigh in? I'm miserable. O.K. I will start reporting in..

Today 215 lbs, -40 by Monday!! (Yeah right!).

O.K. A LOT by Monday...

Back from my walk...letting the hornets go ... Denial, Anger, Blame, Guilt, Bargaining.. what are the rest of the 12 steps? I never went to one of those programs, but I think this fits the bill..

Dogs are wonderful! Zack took me for a walk. He wore his new glow-in -the dark phosphorescent necklace. We walked a mile. That makes 1 & 1/2 miles today. He didn't mind that it was 2:00 AM. He even looked at me with adoring eyes, and grinned when we got home! Wow! Woman's best friend! I am calmer now.

I have a 7:30 AM meeting..

Fresh start. Stayed OP all day. Weight 215. Water 8 + 4 flavor infuser + 4 Crystal Light. Two exlax. One Tbsp psyllium husks.

Get tough Hobo! The Trains 'a comin'! No Excuses. You're either ON the Train or you are standing in the WOODS, LOST, Starving, Missing Opportunities, and Wasting TIME!.

Opportunity costs= Delay reaching Goal, more money, not in best physical shape for job interviews ( I heard my school may close in June- which means interviews, transferring, possibly more stairs in a new building, competing with younger, slimmer teachers for jobs in the best schools.STAY ON PLAN!).

I guess I should see Doc again. Feel COLD swimming, and ears feel funny. Heard water in ears several times alhough doctor didn't see anything. I stopped swimming..

I fell at work on Aug 25th and banged my head, twisted my knee and have more trouble walking on already bad knees with missing cartilage & a few ligaments and ignoring knee replacement offers. Stopped trying to do yoga on hurt knee. Ears still feel funny. Heard sloshing in ears. I need to start swimming again since it's hard to walk..

Has anyone had knee replacement surgery?.

Reasons to lose weight:.

Job competiton.

Health so I can keep working.

Strength to get my Master's degree.

Energy to get my house & life in order (somebody call Clean Sweep!).

Looks I better start looking my best, consider dating again & marry rich..

I'm not wanting to date again until I can attract a better caliber. Maybe not even then. I hate dating! I need to reach perfection first! (Well, my personal best for this decade). Um-m. I want a man who passes the 3 brothers/ 3 sisters-in law test. (Whew! I'm doomed! I can't even pass that test !) I'm S.O.L here in the Maryland 'burbs aren't I? I'm not allowed to even tell people I live NEAR Washington, D.C.

(LOL- A waitress in Texas heard my accent and asked me "Oh! Are you from D.C. where they elected that druggie for mayor? LOL.

) I think I better just play the LOTTERY- Better odds!.

Sorry for the Last two blogs. Thanks for listening. I am going to be alright now..

I am off to catch up on your blogs. I've been away for a week. I hope you all are doing well. Are you still taking names and kicking dust? I'll find out. Be back Friday..

Best Wishes,.

Yeah, it's Wednesday already! Once today is through I only have a half-day left of work this week. My sister and I leave for Wisconsin at noon tomorrow! I am excited to be going to spend time with my sisters; alone, without any of the kids, just us three girls! I am also looking forward to sharing my personal thing with them. Use it as a learning experience - how that week off plan adds up. I was off plan for a month due to medical reasons and gained almost 7 lbs. I have no idea how you gained 20 lbs - that's just weird, to me! Is your scale right?.

Unfortunately early Monday evening, 09/21/09, my daughter and I were in an automobile accident. A lady ran a stop sign right in front of me and when I swerved to avoid hitting her I hit a utility pole. My daughters airbag was deployed and thank God we are both okay, just bruises and pain. We were both checked out in the emergency room and given Flexeril for muscle spasms. The other driver watched me hit the pole and kept driving away. My sisters and my husband were all wonderful and I would not have gotten through this without them.

Trying to be positive and I know my daughter, Mina, and I are so blessed to be alive and okay. I guess I keep reliving the accident. When it happened I kept playing in my head what if I hit the lady who pulled out in front of me, I could have seriously hurt her as she was driving a small car and I drive a Suburban. Anyway thank God we are okay. I will get passed this, we will heal, my car will be fixed and I am also blessed with a wonderful friend who always knows how to calm me down and is always there for me.

On a positive note, I have gone off plan and did not turn to food, although I did not have my lean and green on Monday, just came home from the hospital and had a shake...

Oh, Mary, how terrible! So glad that Suburban protected you and Mina. We drive Ford Expeditions just for that reason and because they are roomy..

I think paybacks are heck and the other driver will suffer from not stopping and checking on you both and admitting to fault..

Was she old? We have a retirement up north about 25 miles - aka "God's Waiting Room." A couple of weeks ago, an old lady was going the wrong way on the frontage road. My husband pulled over as is the car behind him. She entered the on ramp onto the highway. We don't know what happened next. It seems to be a common thing up north because it's not the first time we've seen old people driving on the wrong side of the road -even in their golf carts - right in the lanes of traffic..

It sucks, you'll be shaken up for a bit (duh). My mom and I were in a hit and run accident from behind. The driver hit us, backed up and then passed us. Same thing - hospital. Then the stinkin' police officer was hitting on me while I was in his car and mom was in the ambulance. I was about 16 years old.

Take care!..

Mary, I understand exactly how you must be feeling now. It was just 2 months ago that a woman who was talking on a cell phone pulled out in front of me. She had stopped at a stop sign, but was so distracted talking on the phone that she didn't see me coming. Fortunately I was not driving at a high speed, or the results would be different. I braked and swerved a little but still went right into the side of her SUV. I was driving my little Honda Accord, which was totaled.

I just remember thinking, "This is going to hurt". Fortunately, I was not hurt except for some bruising and soreness that showed up days later. Me knee did hit the dash board and I did go to the emergency room for x-rays to make sure nothing was broken there. Oh, and the driver never came over to me to see if I was OK. She still had her cell phone in her hand when she got out of her car and I had to tell her to call 911 (at that moment I wasn't sure how badly I might be hurt).

I did hear part of her conversation on her phone after the accident...she seemed concerned as to whether or not her auto insurance was current. Plus she was a nurse...you would think she would show some consideration towards my well being..

Something else I didn't expect as a result of this accident is that I am now very jittery when driving. I am hyper sensitive to watching every move another vehicle makes. I am always watching to make sure that the other cars stop at lights, stop signs or yield as they are supposed to. I never gave it a thought before. I always considered myself a defensive driver, but now I catch myself overreacting to every little movement another driver makes with his car. Plus, I drive my husband crazy when he drives, always cautioning him to slow down, etc.

Mary, I am glad to hear that neither you nor your daughter suffered any serious injuries. But be aware that there may still be both some residual physical and psychological aftereffects..

You both will be in my thoughts and prayers as you recover completely...

Alana, my son flipped my Honda Accord five times and walked away with just a scratch on his arm. He was very lucky. The Accord was totaled but after seeing the car, I realized they are made for safety. The car went end over end once then rolled side to side four times. It did not look like an accordian, just beat up..

Vikki, Hang in there, girl. You are on even ground right now. Do not let it shift. Try not to think too hard, just go with the flow and be happy you are back to where you've always wanted to be..

I purchased a pair of Shapeups from Sketchers.com. They should arrive in a few days. I cannot wait. My mom's side of the family have the ugliest legs in the history of mankind, I tell ya, and, unfortunately, I inherited them so....anything that will help out in that area, I am all for it. A GREAT NSV for me...As I mentioned above, my mom's family has some terrible-looking legs, even the skinnier girls. The leg looks like a board from the top of the leg to the ankle, one size.

Even when I weighed 125 in HS, I so wished for bird legs or legs with definition. I hated my legs and I have always thought of them as a curse. Even though I NEVER THOUGHT I COULD WEAR THEM...I just had to have some hooker boots, regular sized, not made for large calves. I've been trying them on, trying them on, trying them on in the hopes that one day, they would be comfortable enough for me to wear. I have not looked at them for a few months but this morning, decided to give it another try...GUESS WHAT????? They friggin fit, comfortably.

On that happy note, HAVE A GREAT DAY,.

I am SOOOO proud of myself! I have resisted the Heath candy bars that have been in the office for the past few daysseeing them every time I walk into the conference rooma room that I go into many, many times during the day. Today, my sister brings in some bakery; a very yummy looking APRICOT coffee cake. I love apricot on anything. So, all day long I walk back and forth into that conference room, and the devil on my shoulder tempts meone little piece (you know how that is)but the angel on the other shoulder jumps right in and says, NO. I dont know how many times I was back and forth in my head, it was quite ridiculous reallybut in the end the angel and I won!!! I am so happy!.

Gypsysmom (Angelina).

: A great big.

On the boots! I recently bought myself two pairno, not hooker boots, but a lot more hip than Ive ever worn before..

Ive been having a problem wearing heels though, and when I wore the black ones, although comfortable, I ended up with a swollen tendon on the top of my foot! I hope it just takes some breaking in and getting used to, because I love the way they look, and the way they make me feel..

Yeah, it's Friday...My boss comes home tomorrow. I managed to survive the two months without her....

Hopefully, my stress level will return to normal. I have not had one complete day off in two months. I cannot wait to take a day off but since my hubby is not home right now, I am going to wait until he is home to enjoy it with me. Not much going on over here, same old, same old....

I know you guys are going to think I am crazy but I miss being on the Medifast program, I really do. It is so easy to just pick up a bar when you are hungry instead of always wondering "will this put me over the limit for my food intake for the day" so...basically I just eat the same thing everyday, just like when I was doing MF. About the only thing that changes in my daily intake is my supper but basically it is still pretty much the same thing I used to eat while on MF. I could probably eat a variety of different foods now and it would not change the number on the scale but I have no imagination as far as cooking is concerned...(sigh).

Happy Friday All,.

Happy Friday all! I haven't one back to read all the tread. I am afraid that I have let the team down as I couldn't post due to work and home computer trouble..

The recession goes on and my son's job is disappearing as the business he works for is going bankrupt..

He(DS20) told me that he is worried that he will not have a good future because of the recession and future taxes. He almost had me bawling but I told him that we have have always come out of these financial troubles before and will this time..

I usually love the autumn but this year and last it was my families worst time. I think that our family is stronger for it but it is sure hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have a work trip next week. Some bars cause a lot of gas...does anyone have advice on what kind to bring? I don't use them much just for trip but I don't want to upset the people on the long plane ride..

Good weekend all.
