I was like 2-3 weeks out. I wasn't supposed to eat it until 6 weeks out. It didn't hurt me but my doc said it really COULD have. He said the lettuce can get hung up on a staple inside and could make me sicker than ever. So, there ya have it. Try it at your own risk = ) My first "salad" was a pinch of shredded lettuce with a couple drops of dressing on it.

Then I did it again and again and again. = ).

Lu will tell ya that it's a plant for God sakes.... eat it! That's what he told me anyway. Right Lu?..

I was allowed at 6 weeks but Dr said it has to have protein in it and ... Salad fills the pouch up quicker,,, so get protein in too !!!..

I'm almost 9 wks out. I was told I could try it at 2 months out, but that it was a Medifast food folks often did better with later on down the road. I tried a simple mixed green salad last night - just greens & very light dressing. Yum and my pouch was happy!..

I waited about 6 months to eat salad. My view on Medifast food is that if it doesn't hold a nutritional value for me then I typically don't eat it. Once in a while I'll have some salad, but for the most part I.

Leave.

It alone. My surgeon described it as this.. chew up a mouthful of lettuce and spit it out. How it looks there is how it sits in your pouch, you don't absorb any nutrients from it. That's just me though..

I could have raw vegetables after 8 weeks. I am just starting to try them. I'm still supposed to be careful of seeds (in cucumber and tomato) Also told to be careful of broccoli stems and celery strings...

Not hard for me to digest. Even my dr said it was the best thing to get your insides moving. That and water...
