Got a quick question: How can I lose weight with Medifast Diet ? Looking forward for any answer. My other question... Hi all. I am starting Monday morning. I have over 100 lbs to lose and would like to do Medifast with a few that are starting with over 100 to lose. It is nice to have others that are going through this at the same time.

I am back to lose all the weight this time, starting out with almost all of it gained back.

I have got to do this for my health and well being. So, anyone out there that wants to join in, welcome. Good luck to us all. Oh, I am starting out at 290...

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..

Hi, Losers (I mean that in the good way, of course!). I'm only on Day 6, Started at 278.5 and would like to get to 140. I'd love to join you all and compare notes..

I figure I'm looking at 300 days (I know, very likely more, but 300 is a nice, round figure no pun intended). So after today, I'm 2% of the way there! Yea! I think I'll make myself a 10 x 10 grid and every three days OP, I'll "X" out a square. I bet I could do that easily in Excel..

What do y'all have planned to keep track of your countdown?..

Hi, I am glad to see yall. I want to be done with this weight by next spring. As long as it is coming off, all is good. I am taking it 10 lbs at a time. So, that breaks down pretty much to doing 10, 10 or 11 times. Doesnt seem quite so overwhelming that way.

Hope the first 10 is this week. We will know next Monday Morning. Is this the first time yall have tried MF? I have tried before, just havent had my head in the game. I am now ready, sick of being miserable and watching other people succeed. I will be one of those now!..

My plan is to get a life and stay busy.. post a lot... and pay attention to the fit of my clothes while hiding the scale. That damned scale haunts me! So, my mission is to weigh once a month and promise myself 6 months "ON" with no exceptions..

Let's do this guys.....

Yes, we can all do this. For me, it is a matter of health. Yes, Medifast is expensive, and I know it is hard for those that have a hard time buying it. But, when you do get it, dont waste any of it by going off plan, even for a day. Lets do this, and lets all stay in touch right here, k?..

Hi all,.

I would love to be part of this group. This is my first time trying Medifast but I've tried a whole slew of other plans. The most I ever lost was 40lbs about 7 years ago....of course I've gained that all back and then some. My highest weight this year was 280lbs and I lost about 10lbs before starting MF. I officially started on 8/11 at 270lbs and I want to get down to 140. I agree that it will be helpful to do this with people going through the same/similar experiences. Just think this time next year we'll all be looking svelte and talking about how far we've come...

Hello to all!.

I really am thrilled to know of so many people on medifast.com who are in the same boat as I am. I would love to join this group! Such Awesome support!.

I am super new to this. I am not even sure if I know how to post anything in this forum..

Ineway... here goes..

I just ordered my first medifast package and look to start on Monday. I am ready to do this thing because I can see how well it will work... however you'd think that after all these years of wanting to lose this weight that I'd be beyond excited that it is finally here and I can finally reach my weight loss goal.., wrong! I have been experiencing just he oppposite... I have been in this fat grl body and lifestyle for so long...like 23 years long, that it really has become a serious comfort zone for me. I really don't know how to be anything else but " the fat girl" I have recently come to the conclusion that I have had to work hard to stay this size. I say that because when I think about it ...I have to make the decision everyday to not peel the layers off that give me protection and comfort from the daily rigors of life.

I currently weigh 352 lbs. and have my goal set to 150 lbs. I know I can do this. I just don't know how to be a thinner me. It may sound crazy but it is a very real reality for me..

It has only been a few months that I've started to change my mental state of mind. I am a bit anxious about the layers finally coming off, mentally and physically...and they are coming off! I just need to know if anyone has been here before and how did you overcome it...

Hey, I have been a fat girl my entire life. Dont know what it is to be smaller. I have no desire to be skinny, just want to get to a decent weight that I can feel healthy. Dont know how it will feel, but I am betting it is awesome. You know, I have a pool, and I love to swim. Well, we all know, fat people float, so, I am wondering if that light feeling that you have in the water is similar to the way we will feel when the fat is gone. Lets do it girls...

Hi! Today was my first day, and I'm also looking to lose about 120 pounds. I'm completely motivated to do this up, but I oopsed it up on the very first day. Not too badly, I just didn't eat my Medifast meals on time. I will be setting my cell alarm to remind myself. I'm mad enough at myself that I think I'll be fine tomorrow..

I'm in the right frame of mind I think. I'm motivated, and angry at myself. I need to get out of this sumo fat suit and back into my skinny jeans from college. And yes, they've been sitting there taunting me in the drawer for 15 years haha...

Hey, been looking at some of the other threads on here and I noticed a lot of them are sorta official, I guess would be the word. I think we should just keep ours casual. It would be nice to see everyone post regular so we can see how we are all doing, and encourage each other, but no requirements. If you want to tell us about yourself, cool, if not, that is ok too. More important might be to tell us your story and how you got to this point in your life. We are all struggling to make a go of it, and who knows, something you say may be something someone else can relate to, and be the help they need.

Been fat my whole life. I, like many, have tried most every diet out there, but give up when I get tired of eating like a rabbit, lol. I tried Medifast before, and did well for a while, and then let the little devil on my shoulder get the better of me. Well, I am here this time to get it done, once and for all. I do realize I will have to fight the battle the rest of my life, but, hopefully it will get easier.

Husband is very supportive in what ever I do, which sure helps. He is skinny though, dang it, lol..

I hope to see all of you on here regularly and see how we all melt away. Take care..

I like the idea of keeping this thread pretty informal and I look forward to all the support we can give each other. Here is a little bit of my story. I, like many of you, have been through numerous diets unsuccessfully and actually I think I sabotaged myself because I was comfy being the fat girl. I actually think that I used my fat to hide from the world then would strangely enough be mad at the world for ignoring me. And so leads a circle of anger, hurt, depression, low self-esteem, and low-confidence. For some reason....something this year changed.

I refused to get any bigger. I refused to get to 300 (my mental cut off for hey you need to do something about this weight). I tried and lost about 20lbs on my own but then gain 10 of them back. A new decade of my life is soon approaching and I need to do something about this weight once and for all..

I hate how I've limited myself and how I've always had to consider my size. Example: this year for my birthday I wanted to go to Broadway play then scrapped that idea because I was afraid I wouldn't fit in the seats comfortably. So that is now one of my goals to spend a night out at a play when I'm close to goal. Here's the beginning of my journey and I'm grateful that I will be sharing it with all of you lovely ladies/gents here..

Hi, again, I just saw my shipment will be here Friday. What better time to start then the weekend. I will need my husband's watchful eye. I remember how hard the first three days were my first time around, but oh after three days I felt so good. Better then I have since I quit..

I'm looking forward to the support. I know last time the support was what kept me going during the rough patches. I felt like I made some real friends..

So, Michelle, how long has it taken you to lose the 50? One month?? I have a goal of 150, but I know that at 5'1 that still puts me in the overweight category. However, 150 will look much better on me then the 250 it has now.

I'm excited! They have also added ice cream, more bar options, pancakes and brownies. Plus the snacks that use to be just a snack, are now meals too. One of the things that was hard for me last time was not having a chewy, salty or crunchy snack. Even the bars were just once a day, and very sweet..

I've got to get the water going again too. I know it will be a fountain, but can't wait.

Okay, well, if the shipment comes like it says it will I will start on Saturday. Any tips for some of the new products?? I got my sugar free syrup for the shakes, and just need to grab some instant coffee. Anything else I should have ready?..

Woo! It's day 2, and I'm down 2.2 pounds. It's probably water weight, and I'll keep saying that for the first week, but hey, it's an awesome way to start the day seeing that the scale moved, when it so rarely does in the right direction.

Day 2 was a better day for keeping track of my food. I drank way more hot tea than yesterday, and I think that slowed down my water consumption. I will have to temper it with ice after steeping so I'm not tempted to sip it so much as drink it..

I find that I'm eating the bars the most on the go. So much easier to haul around than the container for the shake. I need to make sure I remember to go in and change my order from the variety pack to pick what I want this upcoming month..

And I'm all for the informal. The way to find this thread is if each of us posts and bumps it..

Activity is one way to keep a thread at the top!.

Or getting more technical, you can tag the thread for subscription. I'll need to check and see if this board supports individual stickies, but I can definitely see from here that below, as you post, you can Subscribe to Thread. Or select Thread Tools at the top when you're here in the thread reading, and select it from there. I just set it to no emails, and then it'll be waiting for you under Quick Links in orange at the top of the forums. Click Quick Links, select Subscribed Threads at the bottom, and there it waits. It's a great way to tag any thread that you don't want to forget about..

I recommend reading this thread:.

Have you thought about going with a TSFL Health Coach? I wasn't sure I'd like having one because I've never liked the whole accountability thing with going to meetings and whatnot, and I was worried that this would feel like that, but I really love mine. She's been great advising me and being helpful and supportive. I feel like I have someone in my corner.

If you want to know who mine is, PM me. They're free, and the food costs end up being the same (you order through their site, and they get a small percentage from what I understand)..

Why are you waiting? The new you is around the corner, you just need to take the steps to get there..

Day 2 weigh in - I'm down another 1.8 pounds, so 4 pounds in 2 days..

Personally, I set my goal to where I want to be - which is something that I've never been - skinny. I know it's likely to be a year before I get there, but I can always re-assess as I get closer. Reality will be that I've got curves, always did, and my chances of getting to skinny rather than stopping at curvy are high.

But I keep the picture in my head, because it keeps me motivated..

The main thing for me is to know that this is a long journey, and there are no shortcuts. I have a friend who started this program back in February. She's 80+ pounds lighter now. I just kick myself that if I had started when I first contemplated it, after she started seeing success, I could be close to that. She has a lot of the same type of health issues that many of us hide behind, and yet this diet worked for her, and all the other awesome people who've got their charts up showing that these results are real and could be mine if I'm willing to take this one day at a time and stay on plan!.

You can do it girl! We're here cheering for you <3..

Like Aerielle said why are you waiting? There's never going to be a "good" day. I sure if we wanted to we could all find a reason to put off starting. But like the old adage states there's no time like the present. I mean honestly even if you've already had breakfast/lunch I would consider jumping right in today and let the rest of your meals be Medifast meals or at the very least start tomorrow. Don't think about it just go. You can do it we're all waiting for you to jump aboard..

Congrats on the weight loss. I know the first week you get great losses (partially water weight) and it really does help you stay motivated. For me after the first week I started looking and feeling slimmer because all the bloating and puffiness was washed away. I can't wait for your official weigh in next week..

I don't know how I picked my goal exactly. I too like a woman that has some curves so I'm not trying to be an uber skinny minnie. BUT, I would like to be able to walk into ANY clothing store and be able to shop so I'm thinking I would need to be about a size 8 or so to do that. I think at like 140lbs I could be that especially if I'm all toned up. I may change this as I get closer to goal...I may prefer being 160-150 or I may want to go down to 130. We'll see.

I'm 5'5" by the way...

Had a fantastic OP day yesterday. Even with a terrible head cold, I'm loving the flushing of my body. I had forgot how much you can "go" while on MF. I'm thirsty for the first time in a long time which is fantastic. I drank all my water, ate all my meals, and even tried the new Medifast peanut butter Ice cream. I can't say it was the best thing I have ever had, but I'm sure after a few more days, I will love the taste..

I went looking for my old team yesterday, the Garnets, and didn't find too many of them still on. But then I ran into a couple that were and was so excited to see their after pictures. It just made me more determined to make this work..

I'm already looking forward to my lean and green tonight, but that is the reward of having an on plan day..

I have a question, do you have a health coach? The first time I did, but she quit Medifast and gained back a good bit of weight. I think it could have been one of the triggers I had to quitting. I'm afraid to get a new health coach for fear I will have another one who gives up and quits. Any suggestions? Do you like your health coach? Has it helped you?..

I really like my health coach.

I think it's helping. I look at her as both inspiring, since she lost 88 pounds on Medifast and is keeping it off, but also because she's really supportive and I feel like I can use all the people cheering for me to success as I can! She's also great at answering my questions, and if I'm going through a rough day, I can call her..

My thought of the day is:.

MEASURE YOUR FOOD! I thought I knew my cooking weights, but damn, I was really off on my protein weights. I cooked and weighed 3 Foreman-grilled chicken breasts from the big bag of frozen chicken breasts at Costco, and they came in at 3.3oz, 3.6 oz, and 4.4 oz!..

I've been working the past two days and have had much of a chance to check in. Welcome to all the new comers that have posted since I was last on the boards..

I was wondering about getting a health coach myself. Most feedback suggests that overall they are pretty helpful. However personally something bothers me about the fact that they get paid. I know that it doesn't come out of my pocket directly but still it makes me feel wonky. I've also gotten feedback that just coming to boards regularly has been equally effective when compared to a coach. For now I'm going to try it without the coach but maybe I'll change my mind in time. HTH..

Hi all, I'm not a September Starter, but I wanted to stop in and encourage you all on your Medijourney. My biggest, although unsolicited, tip is to determine never to go off plan. If you don't entertain the thought, you won't have to battle the thought. Does that mean problems won't arise? No, but it will certainly insure your success. I have about 110 pounds to lose, though it's been so long that I've been at a reasonable weight, that I'm not sure what my real goal weight will be. As of right now, I'm shooting for 155. I started at 265.4...

Wow, let me get sick for a few days, and it looks like our little group has been popular. I am glad to have all of you here. It looks like we all are in weight ranges of around 250ish to 350ish. I think it helps to do this with others that have around the same amount to lose. So,,,,,,,, I am not weighing today for my first week since I have been sick and not done well. I am back though and determined to do this.

Send me a friend request, as I would like to keep up with all of you..

As for the health coach thing, I have actually had a couple when I did this before. I really didnt care for it. If you come on the boards, you can do just as well by reading and getting help from others. You can get the food a llittle bit cheaper by having a coach and doing the auto ship thing, but, I prefer to pick out my own foods anyhow, so that doesnt really help me. I mostly do the rtd shakes, and hot chocolate. I just like to drink it down and be on my way.

I didnt like most of them, and I really dont want to put that much thought into it. Just keep it simple works best for me. I lost weight really fast last time, so, hope it happens again..

Okay ladies, lets do this! Have a good week and stay in touch...

Hi, I'm a new Medifast member. I have a long road ahead but do need to drop 20-30 pounds quickly. (ankle and foot pain). I haven't tried Medifast before, but I've done many other diets. I lose but tend to be a "drive through" eater and have made some terrible meal choices the last 10 years and have gained over 100 pounds. Ugh, how did I let that happen? So my goals for my first week is to look at one day at a time and not weigh myself daily or even weekly.

I tend to be one that if the scale says a big number at the beginning, I mentally calculate where I'll be in one, two, four months etc. Then I fail because I set too high of expectations. Therefore, one day at a time is my goal. Good luck to all of us...

Hi all - I started last Monday and actually went out and bought a scale today (I'd been weighed at the doctor recently so as much as I don't want to admit it, I know my start weight..). Weighed in and am down quite a bit. Which I kind of don't believe. Is it normal to have lost (allegedly) 12 lbs in a week? Did I somehow drop a bunch of weight between the doctor visit and last Monday? Do my clothes really weigh that much? I tend to lurk but like this thread, and we all seem to be in the same situation, so I thought I'd pop in and say hey..

Here's a question - headaches. I get one pretty much nightly (except last night, though I have one tonight again), and am wondering if any of you have them too and how long they might last. I read on another thread it's sort of like a carb withdrawal..

Have a good night / tomorrow!..

Balam, it is quite common to lose that much the first week if you have a lot to lose. A lot of it is water weight, although the first time I did this I lost 11 lbs first week and I could feel it. I think it's because you dont feel bloated anymore. Headaches are something you have to deal with when you first start out. After a week or two they will subside, but, do drink a lot of water, it helps. You are well on your way, go for it.

I have a few egg beaters with a shake in the mornings. Feels more like a real breakfast and gets me going. I am one too that tries to stay at the higher end of the calories. I think when you have a lot to lose it helps. Keep in touch..

Thnaks, Loserette! Good idea on the l and g (and you reminded me to take some fish out of the freezer for tonight). This IS a pretty easy plan, though the weekends were a little bit tough.. once I'm done with my chores I find myself with little to do. Old Balam would have snacked. New Balam isn't going to. I've decided that going through the 1st 3-5 days again will kind of suck so it's not happening again..

Hope you're feeling better, and cheers to everyone for a happy week!..

It's best to measure yourself with the same scale as some can be a few pounds off. If you'll be going back to the doc's anytime soon, you can weigh yourself as soon as you get home (before drinking or eating anything), and seeing if it's the same weight, if you're really curious. Personally, I'd just take that as a fantastic first week.

If you look at all the successful losers around here, the first week or two are big, and then it tapers down to what's more commonly recommended as a steady loss - 2-3 pounds a week..

Week 1 weigh in was today for me, and I'm still at 6.6. Not huge, but I'm happy with it. I survived going to the restaurant and also (worse) going to the State Fair which is like one big huge food fest. I stayed on plan and still enjoyed myself (although my husband missed having his eating buddy, because we usually split stuff)..

If you have the autoship with the health coach order site, you can go in and change your order and ship date. I bumped mine up by several weeks, and hand-picked my boxes. I ordered the summer drink special which is currently on sale (also not soy-based, which I need with my thyroid meds), and dumped all the stuff I'm not currently a fan of that were in the variety boxes..

The oatmeal was horribly bitter to me. I was ok with the texture, and made it with extra water as suggested by others, but ugh, had to choke it down to finish.

I'll try making muffins or something down the road with those packets when I get that taste out of my brain...

Hello fellow September starters! I just ordered my first 4-week package...SOOOO don't want to wait the 5-7 days for delivery! This is my first time doing MediFast, but I've done Diets-to-Go, Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, Body For Life, 6 Week Body Makeover....all with little to no success. I really like the idea behind 6 Week Body Makeover, eating 5-6 meals a day, but I couldn't keep up with trying to cook such specific, small portions. And the other meal plans left me hungry a couple hours after eating (sometimes only 30 minutes later), so I kept going off plan. It seems like Medifast is going to be the perfect solution - eat something every 2-3 hours AND have it all pre-portioned and planned out for me!..

This is day 5...Yea... doing great. Feel good...so glad I started...I have been loosing at a steady pace but this morning I was up 2 lbs...I am following the program and doing all my water. anyone know why that would happen? Hoping for a drop tomorrow...I have decided that I am not going to weight everyday after the first week...Just needed to see the scale dropping to get me through the first few days....

Health Coach...am I understanding that they are free but they get a percentage of the food you order through them? Does it cost me anymore to go through them or the mail phone number or online? Still trying to decide if I want to go that route. A. recommended one to me and I checked her out and she seems like she would be a real motivator so wondering if there are any other draw backs that one knows of.....

Thank you so much. this board keeps me going on this journey....

I am such a foodie and love to cook. Being from the south everything is all about the food. So today's taste buds felt like they had been slapped upside the head! Getting ready to have my L and G in about an hour, then one more Medifast meal..

Amazing to see all of us on here that need to lose so much weight. Good luck to all of us!..

I think to answer the health coach question, you just got to do what you feel is right for you. I know that they go thru some training, but, I think most of them are just trying to lose weight like we are. I just want the support and friendship of others.

It is something you got to do for yourself. Keep on keeping on............

Good evening all. I had a pretty good day on program. I exercised for two hours which I know is more than Medifast recommends but I've been going to this gym for almost a year and I haven't quit yet. Big deal for me. So, I had my LG meal for lunch and that meal got me through the day pretty good. I'm pretty hungry right now, but elected to have an extra Medifast shake tonight.

I haven't weighed myself yet. I've been on so many diets that I know my downfall is weighing myself frequently. Therefore, I won't be able to post any progress other than how clothes fit and how I feel. And, I feel great (except for the slight headache and sort of hungry tummy) but this to shall pass. Isn't that what they say..

When I feel hungry, I just vision the fat melting away. Melt baby melt!.

Good luck all and One Day, One Meal at a time...

Welcome to all the new people.

Feel free to friend me if I missed you. I tried to add people as I noticed the new ones. Makes it easier to keep up with who's joining us..

AMilitaryMom -.

This thread is on how to make tickers, and how to update it (because it's static and won't update itself based on your weigh-ins)..

Kkrose - You might want to read more on the 4-2 plan if you will be exercising that much. That big of a calorie deficit is likely to put you into starvation mode, which can stall your weight loss progress. The Exercise and Training forum has ACE certified trainers if you have questions about what is too much or what you can do to keep in a proper zone for optimal weight loss..

Recipes - Really advise reading this thread -.

Bigmom put together a ton of recipes from other MFers for turning things like shakes and oatmeal into cakes, muffins, crepes, and other stuff. It's really a great way to turn something you might hate (like me and that foully bitter oatmeal) into something that you really like and is on plan..

PB2 is a peanut butter substitute from Walden Farms, which makes a lot of sugar-free, carb-free or calorie-free items. I haven't tried any of them, but I've seen people post that there are a lot of good ones..

I'm kinda scared to go down that road yet of finding good tasting condiments and snacks lol. Although I'm thinking that I might order some of the salad dressing packets for when I go out and can't see an ingredient list for their salad dressings...

answered May 01 at 08:30

Walter's gravatar image

Aerielle, Thanks for the links. The salad dressing packets look like a great idea, I think I am going to give those a try..

I really need to stop weighing myself everyday. The scale went up 1lb this morning, and even though I know that is perfectly normal and to be expected, It's messing with my head!! Maybe I'll hide the dang scale for a week or so and see what happens..

How's eveyone else doing?..

- I have tried many programs as well and honestly I've enjoyed this one the most by far. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how simple it is. I don't have to think about what I'm going to make for each meal of the day. And strangely enough I like almost every Medifast meal I've tried so far. It makes it that much easier for me to stay on program and have consistent losses..

- Congrats on making it through day 5. I know how rough it can be at the beginning but just keep chugging along. I've fallen into the trap of daily, sometimes 3-4 times a day weighing. Honestly, I'm starting to think that it's doing more harm than good. I've noticed that I tend to have an increase around Thurs/Friday but always end up in a loss by my weigh-in date on Wednesday. Unfortunately, seeing those increases on Thurs/Friday turn me into an emotional wreck.

I've talked myself off the ledge a few times. But really the weighing thing is pretty individual..

- I hear ya on the taste bud thing. My family is from the Carribbean (West Indies & Dominican Republic). I LIVE for highly seasoned food. Some people even think it's over seasoned but I'm just used to flavor. I was nervous about not liking the Medifast meals but it turns out they're not that bad. Actually Medifast foods that I liked on Day 1 or 2 I can't stand now (can anyone say Swiss Mocha shake.

). So I think that your taste buds will adjust and you'll be able to find some meals that you can tolerate. When in doubt you can always find a way to make a more savory Medifast meal and you always have your L&G..

Ladies I'm so happy to say that today makes 4 completed weeks on Medifast and a total of 17.2lbs down. I'm overjoyed. Originally I wanted to lose 20lbs in 4 weeks but not getting to that has not disappointed me. I feel great. People at my job are noticing changes. I feel thinner.

And I have hope. True solid, enduring hope that I WILL be successful with MF. I can't wait for all of you ladies to get started and start to enjoy these successes. Good luck everyone and keep up the great work...

Hi everyone. Sayrerider, it is good to have a guy join us. Another perspective. Of course you will prob. lose faster than us girls, but, if you do, we wont get tooooo upset, lol. Good luck, keep us informed on how you are doing.

I find it easier just to eat, or drink the few things I like. I just get it down every 3 hrs and move on, and not think about it. The best thing about this diet is it is a no brainer, meaning, no thinking or planning involved. I usually do a piece of meat in the rocket grill, and throw a bag of steam veges in the microwave for the l n g..

Jays mom. I too have tried to start again so many times, and failed. I will not do that again. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired..

Vanity star, congrats on the weight loss. Great loss. I too like the spicy stuff..

Shawneemt, everyone has to decide what is best for them. I just need someone to keep me going, and I am finding a lot of people on here who is going through exactly the same thing at the same time as me on here..

Our group is growing, and it is impossible to keep up with everyone. I think each of us will find encouragment on here. Probably even find a few that we relate a little more than others because of age, amount of weight, similar experiences, etc. Lets all keep on track and do this. We each have it in us to do this. There is not one among us who cant do this, if it is truly what we want for ourselves.

Not to be selfish, but, only when we put ourselves first are we going to be able to be there for others. I, for one, have self hated myself long enough. It stops now. Now, I refuse to accept this anymore. I want to be the person I know I am inside, and not to be judged by what people see outside.

I may be one of the older people on here, but I have a lot of life to live, and I want to experience it now, while I am able to. I want to go to the amusement park with my grandsons, and not have to worry if I fit. Not have to always decline outings cause I dont want to hold everyone up, etc. Sorry, didnt mean to make this a book. I guess I just needed to vent.

Make the most of everyday, and look forward to less of yourself each day, lol...

Good Evening everyone. I hope you all had a great day. Thanks for taking the time to share. I, for one, need the communication..

My thoughts on the scale. It is NOT NICE. and I'm not talking about the fear of being accountable to progress but the fluctuations. The scale messes with my thinking horribly. I weighed myself for the first time the other day when I started and I struggle not stepping on it everytime I see it. LIKE A HALF pound really shows??? Who am I kidding..

Therefore, to all of you struggling with the daily weigh ins. I challenge us all to NOT weigh ourselves until our weigh day....or even later. Anyone in?..

I'm so glad this thread was started. I have been reading the posts from new people and I'm glad that you have the support to help guide you through this process..

For the new people if I can offer some tips that made it a little easier for me:.

-soak your soup atleast a couple of hours before cooking.

-make shakes with ice in a blender.

-try to drink 1/2 your body weight in water.

-cook the eggs on the stove and not in the microwave.

-weigh the greens instead of measuring.

-Plan ahead. keep Medifast food at work, in your car, in your purse, bag etc..

-use the blogs and boards as much as you can for support. There is plenty out here and the support really helped me stay focused, vented when I needed to and encouraged me to keep going..

You can do this!!.

I wish everyone the best!.

Sure thing Marcia33, for the chili, which I hated, I just added my water in this morning, so it soaked for a few hours and had it for lunch...made all the difference..

I was lucky I found the shake cake recipe, I had no idea what the were talking about. I take one shake mix and add to it 1/2 tsp of baking pouder, then I add about 3 tbs of egg, you can use egg whites, egg beaters, or I have used the whites of an whole egg...whatever you want, then add 2 tbs of water....mix it very good and mw for about 1.5 mins............I really like it..

As for the pizza, just found this one out....1 pkt tomato soup, add some seasonings like power garlic, onion, parm cheese, add just enough water to make it a dough....very little, then bake at 350 for 5-6 mins. Seems like a lot to do, but I really do enjoy it..

Hope that helps..

Welcome to the new people joining us.

Thanks for the well wishes and advice from the experienced MFers stopping in here. I really appreciate the encouragement! lol I kinda need that today..

Scale hasn't moved in 4 days, which is a little frustrating..

I started running on my elliptical again. I was holding off during the first week because I just wasn't feeling up to it. I did 45 minutes and 4.8 miles. I tried to take it slower than normal, keeping my heart rate around 140-150 rather than 160. I felt good for most of it, a little more tired than I usually feel when running, but the last mile did not feel good so I stopped before finishing it. I figure I'll try for the every other day schedule again, depending on how I feel..

I keep spacing my meals too far apart in the morning and afternoon at 3-4 hours, leaving 2 meals to eat after dinner. I am going to make an effort not to do this, even if it means eating every 2 hours, with the split L&G that I eat. Hoping that this helps with moving the scale some. I know that my jeans are feeling looser, so I'm trying to keep that as my focus...

Hi Theotherme,.

You and I could be twins! My husband and I started Medifast on 8/23 each weighing exactly 360..

My goal is 150, just like you. I weighed 130 in my early 20s and freaked out when I got attention. So I cried when I read your post because it's exactly how I feel..

So as of Sept 4, we both weighed in at 334...26 pounds lost in 13 days. We've both been on a plateau since then (five days) but are keeping each other strong..

Good luck to you and to all the other "centurians"....

Well I'm back after more than 2 years and gaining every last pound back!!!! But guess what, I'm more determined than ever to lose it and.

Thin. My motivations are different this time. Not so self centered, not so much about looking good to find a man. This time it's about being healthy and being an example for my daughters who are struggling with weight because of my influence and cooking. Im doing this for many reasons, all good. It worked for me before, and quickly!!!! It will work again and I'm excited.

Medifast works! I proved it before. But you all must remember, this is a change for life. This is not something you can ever quit. Eating is forever changed....remember that. Medifast is the beginning but not the end.

I remember it all clearly. It wasn't a difficult road. It was easy, I lost over 60lbs last time in 3 months. It may not be that fast this time. I am starting at the same weight I started at last time.

My new goal is 165 lbs. Im not sure what it was last time..

Oh and get this....I'm studying to be a chef!!! But one of my thinnest times of my life was in my restaurant which by the way was #1 and Healthy Mexican Food. I can do this again!!!.

Find a way to exercise. Walk uphill and down, begin slow and work your way up. I took a walking class at college and walked 3 miles up big hills and down. I about died from hyperventilation at first but I ended the 10 wks with an A and 2 inches off my middle. WE CAN DO IT...
