Got a quick question: How do you cancel a Medifast Diet online account before trial period is over? Looking forward for any response. Another quick question... Other topics will be discussed that may not be appropriate for the easily offended..

Please discontinue reading Tough Love threads if they are going to cause you to become upset..

+ + + + + +.

Medifast is a wonderful program with many different types of support and a fabulous community. We understand that everyone is an adult and this is not a "mean" group. For some of us, we thrive on this program if we have a place where we are held accountable, where we commit to the program 100% and where we have a place to chat with others who feel the same..

What we believe:.

1. Cheating on Medifast is NOT a strategy to get us out of our fat suits.

2. The only way for us to learn about our problems with food is to take the word "choice" out of the equation when it comes to Medifast. Our only "choice" is 5 packets and 1 weighed and measured lean and green a day.

3. We look to those who have been successful with this strategy to continuously remind us about why this way, for us, is the way to go.

4. We believe that, even though we are completely committed, knowing that we have a group that holds us accountable for our actions is both useful and important.

We commit to:.

1. Remove the word "choice" from our vocabularies.

2. Follow the Medifast plan as written, including transition and maintenance.

3. Tell our "inner brat" to shut the H-E-** up and quiet him or her through abstinence from off plan foods.

4. Give and receive tough love without complaining or calling each other "mean".

5. Cheerlead fellow group members as they follow the path to thinness.

6. Make Medifast the LAST diet we ever go on.

7. Check in with the group as often as our schedule reasonably allows.

8. Be honest with ourselves and our Medifast family and to stay 100% OP at all times. We also swear that WHEN (not if) we are having a tough time and feel like we may eat SLUDGE, to come to our Medifast family first and ask for support and help to get us through the struggle..

Getting the banner:.

We accept anyone who follows the Medifast plan 100% as written, but not limited to, the Quick Start Guide. We recommend participating on the team for 1 week prior to requesting the Tough Love Banner to ensure that compliance to our bylaws is do-able for you..

Anyone can start the thread. If youre the first one here in the morning, copy this opening post and create a post for the new day. Anyone is welcome to join, and if folks have additional ideas on how we can commit, we are happy to hear them!..

5K race this afternoon. The sun, thankfully, has decided to shine on me. Mind you it rained all week, so I ran on the treadmill. It will rain all of next week. Someone was watching out for me today!.

Melissa, I love those early to bed nights. As a school teacher, I get up between 4 and 5, depending on the exercise schedule. I need to go to bed by 9 or 10 or I am the wicked witch of the west..

I'll be around a little this morning. Then off to race. It is a 1 1/2 hour drive which DH will do. It is on the college campus where I teach my grad classes. Fortunately, I only do the drive twice a month. Most weekends, there is a race nearby, but this is one I do because it is always good to have faculty from the college run in the race.

Funny how the unspoken rules on a college campus are so different from the high school where I teach..

I won't talk about my pre-race breakfast, but rest assured, I am following my pre-race eating plan...

Good morning you lovelies!.

Good luck in your 5K, Barb! I hope your breakfast was quite similar to mine. Hydrate hydrate hydrate, and have fun!.

My day will be spent at open houses. Husband and I are so far in disagreement - the one he likes is a 3 mil estate just down the road that we don't even have enough money to tour the grounds. I thought we should buy the 85k shack that is lacking windows. I suspect strongly that we'll end up somewhere in between.....

Seriously, we found one we liked a lot, despite my strong aversion to actually spending any money. I wanted to put in an offer, but Jim convinced me that picking something having seen only three houses so far might be rushing it. We agreed to do the open house thing today in the areas we're interested in, to get a broader idea of what's available in our price range, then decide if this one is the house for us:.

So here's the rundown on our planting adventures yesterday! We're putting in two new flower beds, one in front of the back shed and one where part of the circle drive used to be. DH has had the pleasure of digging out all the old rock and crush and run from the front bed...poor guy! Anyways, in went 60 bags of topsoil yesterday, DH removed four old bushes (as I said, poor guy!) and I started planting..

Tally so far for plants: six tea rose/white columbine (one on the guinea pig grave.

), two yellow knockout rose bushes, one hydrangea, six miniature gardenias, two raspberry bushes and two potted geraniums. We're shooting for four more azaleas, one camellia and a stone path today, then more to come next weekend! Maybe a garden bench under the magnolia tree as well. Yes, it is a very large planting bed and I live in the southeast!.

Weigh in day today with 2.5 lbs down and I'm TIRED! Happy, but tired...

I love the kitchen in that one. I understand the differences between you and dh. I am not averse to spending money but my dh and I have totally different ideas about what kind of house we wanted. He kept picking old houses with some land (I am allergic to the outdoors and often he is gone land is not for us) and I picked new houses with less yard. Oddly he ended up being the one who picked this house which was brand new. Looking for a rental in 2 weeks is going to be so much fun.

My husband left this morning at 4am. Tomorrow is our basement pack out as well as another attempt to fix the plumbing once and for all. It is truly NEVER a dull moment around here. I definitely have a big and busy week ahead of me. I can't wait to have all of this completed..

I don't think I'll be catching up on yesterday's posts. I hate missing out on the wonderful conversations of this group, but I'm afraid time just won't permit..

Rest assured, as with the other TLers who can't participate as much as they'd like, you are always on my mind and you help me stay 100% on plan. Thank you for that!..

I actually like the house quite a bit, and there's lots of potential. Nothing wrong with it that isn't fixable for a relatively reasonable amount of money, and nothing we can't live with until we do fix it. And the plumbing, heating, ac, electrical and roof are all newish - in the last several years. And it's two blocks from an awesome park with a bunch of running trails and a great dog park..

Husband and I compromised on the yard - I told him he can have all the yard he wants as long as he mows it. lol that settled the yard discussion..

And it's well below our price limit. YAY...

Good morning all. I slept in this morning... 8 am. My waffle experiment was a smashing success this morning, but I didn't measure anything, just mixed up the batter to the thickness I think waffle batter should be, after adding a tbsp of egg beaters and a pinch of baking soda. It was delicious, didn't even feel like Medifast, and that's saying something because I do not enjoy my Medifast meals..

If the house had a big lawn and I didn't have a riding mower, he had to push. I'm actually kinda joking about the yard, Barb. I'm one of those strange creatures who finds mowing relaxing, so I usually mow, DH trims and edges and does all the prettying up. I'd rather not have 2 acres to mow with a push mower, though, even though it's great exercise. The last time we had a yard that we had to mow, we lived on a hill and Jim was working out of town and was gone 4 days a week. I think that summer was the only time in my adult life that I actually lost weight without being on a diet...

Ella - So are you preggers??? I missed some posts, I'm sure, but that's the impression I'm getting. If so CONGRATS. And what do you do about Medifast if you're pregnant?.

Anna - in years past I would have 1000% voted for living by the beach. But with tsunami's happening way too often now, I'm not so sure. However, I'm sure you guys will find just the right space for you..

Twinmom - great job on the all the gardening!.

Freya - sounds like you had a blast. I can't even imagine slipping on a pair of stillettos, much less walking in them or dancing in them, for heaven sakes. Must be a lot easier when you don't weigh much..

Very windy here this morning, and it looks like we're expecting a hail storm tonight. ARgh. Get this. 89 today and 59 tomorrow. We really are the home state of "if you dont like the weather, wait a minute." LOL.

I am never going to live down the multiple post thing, am I? ROFLMAO... you guys are fun! DH is both ecstatic and scared to death of my parents' reaction. (They're the kind of people who think two kids is a legal maximum. They're not quite sure WHAT to make of me!!).

His family will be over the moon happy, though..

As for Medifast, I'm doing a proper T&M (except skipping the week of not adding anything) so first thing tomorrow it will be extra veggies). Then after I've added back all the food groups, I'll keep adding according to the T&M calorie chart until I hit about the 2200 calorie range. (That sounds like SO MUCH right now!!) Nutrition is more important than calories and I've worked up enough pregnancy nutrition charts that I'm quite comfortable with the plan I've come up with. It will essentially be a higher calorie version of the nursing mother's plan which is what I'll cut down to once this bambino (or bambina) is the appropriate age..

And I'm not going ANYWHERE because if there is any time I need to be 100% it's during pregnancy!!!..

This does happen a lot, although I'm usually able to get it out. My body tends to adjust to things pretty quickly, so the pain is nowhere near what it was last night. I can see, it's just very uncomfortable..

De, do you do the natural eye moisture stuff? Geeze..brain fart..I forget what they are called. As in nice moisture for your eyes and not visine. My friend Dawn has Dry Eye Syndrome and she uses them. She's also an RN and swears by them..

Worst eye story and about to show how clumsy Susan can be. It was moving day 1/4/2011. I was up at 5:30 because movers were coming at 8 and comcast at ten. I had been up late the night before packing, so I was SO very tired. I also move a ton of things my self and am stubbornly bad about asking for help cuz..well..I don't want to help anyone else move. So, I was beyond tired.

Well, let me tell ya..the curling iron becomes a lethal weapon if you are tired. I somehow dropped it into my eye. It was the worst pain I have ever experienced. Seriously..worse than child birth because it's focused in such a tiny area. It was horrible.

It kind of spasmed. Did I put a halt to all moving activities and go to the doc? Um no. I finally went at 4pm that afternoon after basically scaring the movers and comcast guy. Of course I had to tell them all the story so they didn't think I was just sobbing because of some horrific event. I remember the Comcast guy saying "what do you think your doc will do?"..my answer was "remove my eye and throw it away hopefully".

I was the talk of the clinic. I think eye pain is the worst pain ever. I feel ya De...

S baby news. CONGRATS!! There's another pregnant MFer in the Can Do thread. Medifast Babies - I LOVE IT!! I never had my own kids, so like Zoe, I was everyone's aunt. Then DH came along with 4 grown children. Our first grandchild was 6 weeks old when we got married - he turned 11 yesterday.

And now has 2 brothers. Also have a grand-daughter who'll be 5 in August..

- love the house! We have close to 3 acres, but we also have 2+ tractors (DH keeps a 3rd and sometimes 4th around for parts.

). I actually enjoy mowing the lawn..

- Ann Arbor? You go to UM? I'm 18 miles SW of there. My backup office in in A2 - I'm there 2-3 times a week, sometimes more. I lived in A2 for over 10 years before moving out to the country..

- good luck on your race - I know you'll do well. Have fun and make us proud!.

- take care, hon. Hope the doc can get you seeing better. Don't be too hard on DH, I'm sure he was trying to spare you. Men's brains just don't process the same as ours..

No more tofu...love you all..

I'm sorting through my summer things doing the first cut at packing for our cruise.....

That's 28 days..

4 weeks from today at this time I will be winging my way to Ft. Lauderdale. Our ship leaves at 4:30 p.m..

Have a fabulous Sunday!..

Susan - Ouch! And I thought I was a clutz. I have a previous injury to this eye from when I was a kid. Got pushed into a yucca plant and scratched my cornea. It healed but it's always that eye I seem to have issues with. Right now it doesn't hurt, it's just driving me out of my mind, but if I rub it or use drops, it just seems to aggravate it more. The fact that I don't seem to have tears anymore doesn't help either.

We assumed it just popped out in my sleep, but with me, one never knows.... This was, of course, before the dry eye thing became a real issue...

Corbie, the house is beautiful, I love the fireplace stone and sounds like it has plenty of newer things that you won't have to worry about,,,,make the agent give you a list of properties that sold (and for how much) in the neighborhood and what's on the market at what price,,,it will help you make a good offer instead of a SWAG (scientific wild a** guess). Sounds like a good location too.. Sure hope your eye is healing De. Ella, congrats on baby #8!... And last but not least, lets have eaglet pics !! so cute !..

I need to steal your kid for an ego boost..

Hey tlers - question. I have a vacation looming - first week of may. i'm going to go 100% but was wondering...some of you guys talk about 4&2 - is that considered 100% on plan or is that only when you get close to your weight loss goals? I was just wondering if that was an option I could have in my batman tool belt of MFness. any advice would be appreciated..

, from what I understand, 4/2 is absolutely considered OP when you have reasons to do it. IE..too much time in the gym or traveling and lots of walking to make 5/1 too few calories. By the way. ChattymomX4 is an expert traveler. Hit her up for ideas...

Should be lots of walking - charleston and savannah. both cities I hear are super walkable and thats the best way to see everything. but our soon to be 3 year old will be with us so that is pretty slow walking......

Teri - I'll let others answer about 4&2. I've never done it. But man, can I speak on traveling with MF. If you have any possible way to do it, get a mini-fridge and microwave in your hotel room. You might have to pay an extra fee (last week it was a flat fee of $25 for the week - well worth it), but some hotels have them already so shop around. I found it absolutely EASY to do.

E.g. if it's a choice of off plan or not eating, I won't eat..

I won't go into a lot of details on traveling with Medifast right now, but let me know if you want any tips and I'll PM you..

I "get" to go to the gym soon. The Y is only open from 1pm to 5pm. I'm watching the clock like watching a pot boil. Honestly excited about working out today. Somebody check me for a virus!..

Teri - If you are going to be doing lots of activity, I would say 4&2 would be a good choice. It's certainly not going to hurt you. It's often easier when on vacation to do a 4&2 because it allows you to eat on a more normal eating schedule with your family. However, watch your carbs. I personally don't have problems with carbs when I do 4&2 as 1 meal will be very low carb veggies (salad) and another may be broccoli or other higher carb choice...

Greetings TL crew- I thought it would be appropriate to let you all know I've been reading the advice you've given around the boards, and I'm subscribing to the 100% philosophy, I'm not into using condiments unless I have to, not gonna go anywhere near my trigger foods even if they are OP (peanut butter, cheese, almonds). No copycat recipies w my packets, I eat them as they were intended..

I had the biggest first week weight loss I've ever seen, and I've had a LOT of first weeks on many diets up til now..

I'm just hoping I'm not going to weaken my resolve over time so I plan to keep lurking and learning 100% tips. I have learned more on Medifast in a week than I ever expected to..

Thanks for what you're providing to some of us that are not active posters.

Teri, 4&2 is a valid choice on plan. Medifast recommends it for anyone with more than 50 pounds to lose, or if you're doing more than 45 minutes of exercise a day..

If you look at my signature, I used it for both reasons - over 50 pounds at the start, greater activity levels at the end. My losses were steady throughout, on either 4&2 or 5&1..

Personally I never worried about the carbs (planning higher carb veg with lower carb veg). It all seemed to work out fine, and I stayed under 100. Oh, but I did watch the carbs closely if I was going to eat a maintenance bar. Those'll getcha..

You can switch back and forth from day to day, too. I would do a 4&2 day if I had a dinner I chose to eat at (I always ate a L&G at lunch)..

Good luck on your trip!..

answered May 01 at 09:57

's gravatar image

I agree with Freya. What's funny is often when I do the 4 & 2 my carbs will be really low unless I add in a maintenance bar! Some 4 & 2 days I do two salads and unless I add in a maintenance bar sometimes I'll be under 80 carbs. I do the 4 & 2 if I have a lot of socializing or if I'm working out a lot...

I posted this in T&M TL, but want opinions from here too..

Okay, I will pose this to you all. Possibly it's even a 5/1 question, but who knows. I'll just see who answers and take the one I like best..

I can't be trusted at the gym. I usually go 5 days a week and stay for 1.5 hours. Maybe a hair less. 4/2 is certainly an option, but I have to tell you..I LOVE my Medifast meals. So..I am thinking about just adding 6-7 oz a day of leanest or leaner protein, but keeping my 5 Medifast meals. I cannot come up with a negative other than it's a bit of a manipulation and that bothers me.

I want to be sure that the brat is not getting her way...

Morning my Tough Lovelies, I am headed for bed, but I set the timer on the coffee maker for 4am..so should cover your East coast Lovelies. It's Sumatra blend..my favorite. Myself..I will wait until I get up and make my usual one cup with my melita filter..

It's actually 10:22pm here, but figured it was morning time in Ella's world and those on the East coast..

Chopped Tofu. If I am close, it's TL version of chopped liver..so when someone says "no chopped tofu" I think it means no time to do a shout out to every person at the moment. Correct me.
