Quick question... How does Medifast work to help you lose weight? Thanks in advance for any answer. Another quick question... Hi everyone. After being on Medifast for 6 months, I only very recently felt strong enough to add exercise back into my life. With that has come some yoga and meditation..

Oh my!! What a difference!!.

I've decided to make this MY month to commit to being an active person again. That's my challenge!!.

I used to be a distance runner and yoga teacher. Well, whatever milestones I reach now, I will be proud of them!!.

If that means walking extra blocks, steps, or miles.....or if that means doing a forearm balance or other advanced pose again.....or just doing arm workouts and toning in preparation for summer.......I am ALL FOR IT and ALL IN!!.

Anyone who wants to join is so very welcome!!.

Have a healthy happy OP day!.

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer. I'll do some research and get back to you if I got an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can help you..

I'm back on Medifast again starting yesterday so I'm in. My goal is to exercise 5-6 days per week and lose 12 pounds this month. I did an hour yesterday and an hour today on the Wii doing Just Dance 2...

The Wii sounds great! I have yet to try a dance program like that. Have any of you tried Kinect for xbox? Since I have xbox already, that would be less expensive..

No-but I've heard good things about the Kinect. My DS has Xbox but I'll never get near it. He kind of "outgrew" the Wii and is on Xbox live every spare second that he gets. I'm going to put another hour in tonight and I'm hoping to do that every day this week...

Today 20 minutes of Zumba for Wii (not Fit). Let me tell ya...what a workout!..

Vickie - I'll jump on board. I'm within a pound or two of goal and need to get back into the swing of exercising. Before Thanksgiving I was walking 30 minutes 3/week then I started the C25k training and loved it. Then the rains and cold weather came to SoCal, so most exercise went out the window. While I may be right about at goal on the scale, I am not close to the shape I want to have. Plus, I know that exercise is the key to successful maintenance.

I've taken Hatha yoga classes years ago and loved them, but now I am looking for a good DVD to do at home. Any suggestions?..

WooHoo! I got the go ahead from my doc to start the C25K, so right after work tomorrow, I'm off and running! I've got my route all mapped out, and am ready. I ordered some compression running tights (hopefully they will perform as promised and minimize some of the major jiggle) So that no one will be subject to actually seeing me in the running tights I also ordered a cute running skirt to wear over. I am ready! Podcasts are downloaded, and on the mp3. I'll let y'all know how it goes! Hugs & Smiles.

Just watch me go!.

I also ordered some new work out DVD's from Amazon that came today. I'm collecting quite the library! It makes it easier to do one every day if I can change it up. I've been enjoying Tony Horton's PowerStretch/yoga...but I've never done yoga before and there's not much instruction...so I got a Rodney Yee Yoga for Beginers. I watched the 40 minute teaching section tonight. I didn't actually perform, I was watching carefully, and it is very helpful to yoga newbies like me. I can't wait to do this tape now.

Supposed to be amazing! I'm still trying to get through an entire Jillian DVD so this new one will definitely be something to work up to..

Sorry to ramble so....must be time for sleep!..

That's so funny-I was just thinking I need to get my treadmill out too! I have a treadmill in my bedroom that is currently acting as a second closet. My goal this weekend is to dust it off and get all of the clothes off of it so that I can start the coach to C2K program. I like to walk outside better but it's freezing out here...

For DVDs at home, the GAIAM yoga videos are terrific!!.

The one EMT posted about with Rodney Yee is one of their DVDs. They are great..

You can get them at Target or Amazon or Barnes and Noble or from their site..

They have DVDs ranging from gentle yoga, AM yoga, PM yoga, intermediate yoga, weight loss yoga, advanced yoga, etc..

TODAY I plan to walk on my lunch break and then weights later. I'll check in this evening..

I'm curious too! I downloaded "Running into Shape C25K" from Carli. It's a better mix for me than the Cool Runnings techno pop music, tho' still not what I would prefer. I downloaded a ton of classic rock running songs (think Forrest Gump here) and thought that I could find a way to insert time ques (like a beep or something) No such app for anything except iPod. (I have the Sony mp3.) anyway....I'm going to use the 'carli' one until I'm doing the solid runs, and then switch to MY MIX and a watch!..

EMT,.

I hear you on the music. I actually got the iPhone just for the iPod and C25K combo. Well, I was due for an upgrade too, so that helped..

I tried running for short intervals outside yesterday, and I think I can do the C25K..

Thanks for the app recommendations in the thread..

Good morning, exercisers!!.

Today is a VERY rainy day here in NY. I will do a yoga DVD at home..

Yesterday I watched gymnastics with my preschooler so we then hit a playground and I did the best I could to keep up with her for over an hour..

What is everyone else's plans for today?.

Yes I really am 'quoting' myself! But this IS an extention of that. I found exactly what I need, (other than an iPod apparently) A gym timer that let's you set different intervals, with up to 99 repeats! Can be worn on an armband and beeps OR vibrates. I ordered it and will let you know how it works. I'm excited that I get to listen to MY MUSIC!.

Good luck! I'm not a treadmill runner, I prefer outside. It's snowing pretty hard here, but I've discovered that I like to run in the snow. The C25K is 3 times/week, but I'm thinking that I'm a daily runner, so on my "rest days" I just repeat a day of Week 1....just to move some! Hugs & Smiles.

I did drag out my treadmill but I also hate using it. I've also decided that I'm in no shape to run yet. I can't wait to be able to walk outside again. So I've been doing the Wii instead and thinking about buying another Wii game. I have the Walk It Out game but can't figure it out. Anyone have any good suggestions?..

Jessie,.

It's interesting you say that. The main reason I haven't started my C25K is that my body is not physically able to run yet, it seems. I also went through five months of chemo about a year ago, and my body is just so weak..

I don't have the Wii so I don't have any suggestions, sorry..

Have a GREAT day!!.

Did alot of spring cleaning today - does walking back and forth and back and forth, etc., count as exercise?.

I'm walking 2-3 days per week (waiting for the time change to start C25K again) and also doing little things, like parking at the far end of the parking lot at work and the grocery store. I also have 2 yoga DVDs next up on my Netflix queue. Huzzah...

HI Everyone. I haven had much stamina so I haven't been doing too much. So I'm sorry I haven't posted. Good news though. I have been back to my gym twice so far this week and I feel good about it. I usually find excuses for not going.

I realize that exercising for me is just pushing it thru. After it is done, it is SOOO worth it for the feeling you get. SO I am going to try and remember that when I start procrastinating it. Tomorrow I start my first zumba class. I'm excited about it.

I love to read all the posts everyday. It inspires me to get going. ThanksLOL.

Have a good day..
