Got a question, hope someone can answer... How llong till you saw a difference in your body with the Medifast Diet? Hoping for any answer. Another question on my mind: I am new to the program, just starting day two. I had my breakfast and my snack. My lunch is 1.5 hours away and I am already hungry. It is cold, rainy and thundering so I really can't go out for a walk.

Any motivation tips?..

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could help you..

Hang in there. It is rough the first few days, but the worst of it will be over soon. Once you reach the state where your body is burning fat and not carbs for fuel, you will feel much better. I second the idea to drink some hot tea. For me, spicy cinnamon tea was a life saver at times. It tastes just like red hots candies and really curbs my appetite.

I have a rebounder (mini-trampoline) in my TV room, and I would also get in some exercise on that run, walk, just kinda bounce around, whatever until the urge to eat passed, or it was time for another meal. If it was in the evening, I'd take a long hot soak in the tub and then just go to bed..

You can do this. Just hang in there. I am living proof that this program works, as long as you stick to it. I wish you great success!..

Welcome to the wonderful world of MF, must be nearly lunch time right? Honest it does get easier, so just hang in there, make sure you are drinking all your water, and some, hot tea and chicken bullion are also life savers. Use the celery or pickle snacks if you have to, anything to take the edge off..

In a day or two you'll have got over the 'hump' and you will be in ketosis, and you probably won't be hungry any more, it's hard to believe but you will be setting alarms to help you to remember to eat.

Havig restarted a couple of times on my journey I feel for you, my motivation came from spending time on these boards and seeing how many people were making this thing work for them, so I knew it could be done..

My distractions, well my horses tack has never been so clean, hard to eat when you are up to the elbows in saddle soap and oil. I now have a treadmill and my beloved wii fit, so if I do get hungry, or more likely just have a craving for something I go walk or play until the feeling passes, and it always does..

You can do this, do it for you because you are worth it..

You can absolutely do this and it WILL pass. You need to keep busy. Also, Sodium Free Boullion is good for a snack. You can have 3 stalks of celery as an optional snack - spread it out - 1 stalk should take the food urge away..

Me - I started knitting again to keep my hands busy..

Yes, hot beverages/foods help alot. I know when I am having a day where I am really hungry, I feel that hot tea or the hot soups fill me up more and make me feel fuller longer...

Here are a couple of the "secret weapons" that helped me to stay "OP" during my first few days on "MF," and which I continue to use when necessary..

-Brush my teeth.

-Enjoy a Dill Pickle or two.

Hello and welcome to Medifast! I see that you are new, and the advice you were given here to just stick it out is great. However, I want to add a few additional thoughts..

When you posted this, about 1:30 PM Eastern Time, you said that lunch was still 1.5 hours away. That would make lunch at 3 PM Eastern Time..

You didn't say where you lived. If you are on the West Coast of the US, then that would make sense, since your lunch time would be 12 noon. However, if you are on the East Coast, I'm wondering if you started your day too late..

Do you know you should be having breakfast within one hour of getting up? Breakfast is to BREAK the FAST. Your body hasn't had any food since the previous day. Giving your body fuel the first thing in the morning gets your metabolism moving..

That being said, I am usually more hungry in the morning. It's fine to play with your mealtimes just a bit. The Quick Start Guide says to eat every 2 to 3 hours. It's fine to space your first 2 or 3 meals 2 hours apart, and then to space the rest of your meals 3 hours, even 3.5 hours. Just NEVER go more than 4 hours between meals (while awake), in order to keep your blood sugar stable..

I'm not sure how accurate this is, but someone told me that Medifast used to teach you to have at least 3 meals by 2 PM (if you followed a traditional daytime schedule). I think this is a good idea, and have always tried to do it..

Dr. Wayne Andersen, the medical director of Medifast, has a health questionairre in his book, "Dr. A's Habits of Health." One of the questions is:.

I eat _____ of my calories after 5 PM..

Less than 35% gives you +3 points.

35-50% gives you 0 points.

More than 50% gives you -2 points (you subtract 2 points).

Although it is not the way that most Americans eat, it is healthier to get the bulk of your daily calories before dinner. "Eat like a king at breakfast, like a prince at lunch, and like a pauper at dinner.".

Hope you made it through your day with your will and emotions intact! The first few are rough but you won't believe how good you feel once your body kicks into gear. I'm in Oregon and it has been a soggy day here as well, try to do something to distract yourself..

On another note, I usually eat my maintanence bar first thing in the morning. I start munching on it as I get my little girls going. I still am nursin here and there during the night so I wake up really hungry! I have also seen it suggested to do your lean and green in the morning. You can have a rather large egg white omlett with lean swiss for your healthy fat and whatever nummy veggies you want to tuck in there. It might help the rest of the day go better!.

Hang in there, I'm three weeks in and it really does get better from here!..
