My first question is I need a fast Nutrisystem diet plan? Thanks in advance for any response. My 2nd question... Just curious, how you guys decide to make your goals. Some seam to go for the gold big loss and some err on the side of caution.. I am curious, because I had to work extra hard the last week in January to make my goal..

Do you guys do the buddy thing?.

Just curious, as I am new I have yet ot really get a good eating and exercising routine!..

Think of them as milestones along the way on your journey to the lighter side of life. One you can see one milestone and you think you want to go further pick another one..

My first target was 200, my new target is 180, not sure what I will do when I get there I still feel fat (overweight) but at least I am no longer obese..

Remember this is not a diet it is a lifestyle change for the rest of your life...

I knew that I weighed about 270 in high school football....

So, I picked 260 as a wildly absurd number that would allow me to say I weighed less than I did in high school...(I was 367 at the time.).

250 is my current revised goal...But, seeing the examples here of guys like Michael, FitTom and Damon makes me realized that if I seriously work it..I could go lower..

I'm already at 299 and I feel like I can pretty much do any reasonable weight if I follow the plan and don't make excuses....(so, when I hit 250/260 I'll re-access and consider something like maybe 230 as a new goal)...

After my initial weight loss which was faster, I figured I would lose 1.5 to 2.0 per week. Looking at my ticker my avg. per day is 0.2..

So I would expect a weight loss of 30 day x .2 = 6 per month. For the February challenge I was cautious and set my goal at -5...

FWIW, I don't set weight loss goals, even though I probably will celebrate when I hit the 200 and 250 lbs lost mark. I have set me ultimate goal based on body composition...

I set my first goal based on dropping 10% of my body weight because the medical articles said that is where most people start seeing blood chemistry related benefits. So that was -30 pounds. Then I moved to -50 because it was a round number...then to -80 because it was the weight I was getting out of the Navy. Now I am getting a little scientific on my ultimate goal...I used the Zone calculator to generate my lean body mass from measurements of my body right now, and I figure that I want to have about 10% body fat...that gives me my ultimate goal of -115 pounds or 185 pounds on the scale. Quite a journey...and Phase II begins on April 1st...

After the initial honeymoon phase, I've been keeping a very close eye on how much weight I drop per week and how the amount of working out I do impacts this loss. With the monthly challenges, I can now figure out how much I will truly work out and what I *should* weigh by the end of the month but of course there are extraneous variables like being sick, hitting another plateau, etc that will impede my progress. I report my goal weight taking all this into account and then tack on, say, another pound or two just to give me that extra push so I can try just a little extra harder the next time around..

I've typically been losing about 3 pounds every 4 weeks.. but I push the number and try for about 4.5-5. Granted I also do resistance training so I am not just looking at the weight numbers......
