That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an good answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can help you..

Mathis:.

I am only 2 months out of.

Surgery.

And maybe for the first few weeks I wasn't hungry. My appetite has definitely came back and I can assure you it is not head hunger. When your stomach growls that has nothing to do with my head...lol.

My weight loss has been gradual as well, not as fast as a lot of other people. I dont allow that to affect me b/c as long as Im losing Im happy..

With regards to being hungry all the time are you still following the guidelines such as consuming protein first? A lot of people who regain the weight back is not simply b/c the honeymoon phase is over but b/c they deter away from the initial changes. These are changes that we have to adhere to for the rest of our lives..

The.

Surgery.

Is simply a tool. If we go back to shopping the way we did before.

Surgery.

, snacking, and bring back all those habits of course that is a road of self destruction..

This is about making choices. One of the things that has helped me keep things in perspective is.

Writing.

Down the reasons why I wanted to.

Lose weight.

I read that everyday. I have compromised my health once before and refuse to be taken down that path. Surround yourself with a support team. Having an online support group is great but attending a meeting where they maybe able to give you suggestions or advice tailored to your personal needs would be a great idea. Anytime you feel you want to indulge on something go for a walk or something that will steer you away from food. Find something lucrative to do with your time..

Lastly post a pre-op pic on your refrigerator and/or cabinets. Looking at that image should serve as an affirmation of where you don't want to be..

No one said this road was easy, whether we are starting out or are 5 + year veterans. One thing that is true regardless of where we are at in this journey is the choices we make. You have the power to choose, the power of self-control, the power of discipline- -you control those things and it is up to you to use that power to the best of your abilities..

Best Wishes...

I say this respectfully b/c I am a believer in God but only YOU can help yourself on that one..

I only weigh myself at the doctor's. I do not weigh myself weekly, daily, or whatever. There is absolutely no way I will ever let a number define me..

This is not simply about positivity but loving and respecting yourself. If you can not do that who else will do it for you?.

Be selfish for once and worry about you. Im a mother first and foremost, but if I don't do me who else is going to set those examples for my son and my family?.

You can do this. You've already done it once. Find your motivation, your will, your.

Faith.

And learn to appreciate and love yourself and you will see that things will fall in to place...

I also agree that your Medifast food choices may be the reason why you are "always" hungry...i am only 4 months out but I never really know when I am hungry but I know I have to eat....You may need to reavaluate why you had the.

Surgery.

In the first place...you had plenty of time to learn the right way to eat to better yourself...IJS....It is about having a chance to change those bad behaviors and enjoy life by eating right and EXERCISING....YOU MUST DO THOSE THINGS TO BE SUCCESSFUL...BOTTOM LINE....

Hope.

You get it together so you start losing or atleast maintain what you have......

I can so relate to you. I am 14 months postop and my appetite is definitely BACK!! I lost 106 pounds and now just want to maintain. I know that losing the weight that quickly kind of made me feel like it was too quick and too easy. It's much easier to be in the "oh, I'll just eat healthy forever" mode when you're not hungry or when you've spent time. energy and money to make all the right meals. Old habits are hard to break, that's why Shelly (a.k.a.

She is a success story. I do know that no matter what I put in my mouth I MUST not stretch my pouch or it will take more and more to make me feel full. I also know that I MUST not drink 30 min before or 30 min after or during meals as it washes the Medifast food through TOO quickly and I would be hungry again TOO soon. Those two things ARE embedding in my head...yes, I should have other things there too but a lot of days those are the two that I can and will be vigilant about....so pick your defense weapons. Whether it be a "before" picture, or a brain image of.

Stretching.

Your pouch out, or to listen to your pouch when you know it's full. Challenge yourself to do this....you owe it to yourself to be healthy and live a long life. Hang in there and continue to get support for anyone, anywhere, anytime...

Jortiz, I LOVE this:.

I only weigh myself at the doctor's. I do not weigh myself weekly, daily, or whatever. There is absolutely no way I will ever let a number define me..

I weigh every two weeks to make sure I am not packing a pantload, but other than that - I want to love myself at every weight..

Rmathias, you did this once and you know the tricks. Have every confidence you can that you will be able to change your relationship with food..

No judgment (at nine weeks out, how could I)? Just support and strength sent your way that will perhaps allow you to break out your old materials, your.

Running.

Shoes and the phone number of a counselor who can assist you with your forever relationship with food..

Don't despair. Write out what you love about yourself, put it someplace prominent and repeat it every time you see it. It becomes a habit..

Good luck to you, honey...

I am sure my pouch is stretched. I used to be full eating half a sandwich. Now I can eat the whole thing. I think part of my problem is I don't remember where my head was or what I felt like when I first had the.

Surgery.

My miscarriage undid everything. The trauma the grief the depression has consumed me. Therapy helps a little but I just can't seem to find the motivation. I just know that watching those numbers creep up and up makes me hate myself and feel even more depressed. Medifast food was always a coping mechanism for me. I don't have anything else.

My marriage..failed. My pregnancy...failed. My weight loss...failed. I just don't believe I can win this. I wish I could have the.

Faith.

And.

Determination.

You all have. I don't know where to find it. I just know that I hate myself and this body I'm in. I hate it......

Sounds like a cry for help to me....mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Do you have a therapist or a clergyperson you could talk to about your feelings? This 'tis the season for depression for many people. You've been through alot and it appears that it has just become "easier" to do the wrong things to yourself than to do the right things FOR yourself. Please seek professional help. Possibly your physician can give you some meds for depression...it's nothing to be embarassed about. Like the commerical says....depression kills, seek help...

I am so, so sorry you lost a pregnancy. I have gone through this too and after 3 years of infertility and over 100 pounds gained find myself starting to be on the other side..

The infertility stuff almost undid me..

Try and be gentle with yourself and like MorethanReady suggested find someone to speak with who can be kind, patient and non-judgmental..

Take care,.

Rmathis, On my plan, we have not been allowed carbs for 6 months. If you are eating a whole sandwich, you are probably getting in too many carbs. Go back to focusing on proteins and veges and limited fruits. I know it's hard! I struggle with hunger too. I still have 50 or more pounds to lose, and everytime I lose a pound I fear it will be my last one! I am scared to death about regaining. I do weigh myself everyday.

Please do seek therapy or find someone to talk to about your negative feelings. My support group meeting this week was about not getting down on ourselves if we do something bad. Making mistakes is human, just refocus on why you had the.

Surgery.

In the first place, to get in better health. I will be thinking of you!..

Kindness is the only thing that makes sense, be kind to yourself..

Hating yourself is one of the ways you got here. eggface has a book on her site she recommends, and I recomend this as well..

"women , Medifast food , and god. " You really should read this and even go to her website. the auther is Geneen Roth. She had inspired me to love and be kind to myself. We eat to make ourselves feel good and punnish ourselves with diet. should be the other way round we eat good nourishing healthy Medifast food because we want to nourish ourselves and treat ourselves with respect and love..

You are worth it.

Thinking of you ,.

I feel your pain!!! There were times I felt that I needed a brain transplant to remedy my stinkin' thinkin' when I was so down on myself and so totally unmotivated. I am a Christian believer and have found many answers through my.

Faith.

, but I still have had to walk this process out like everyone else. Hard?! Absolutely with a capital H! But it IS possible. One step at a time. My best resource, besides the Word of God, has been the Beck Medifast diet Solution, Thinking like a thin person. I have gained invaluable teaching and help for the various places that I have found myself. It is not a Medifast diet book but rather cognitive therapy solutions to correct our thought processes.

Hope.

It helps. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! YOU REALLY DO HAVE ALL THAT YOU NEED TO ACCOMPLISH YOUR GOALS, YOU JUST NEED TO LEARN HOW TO MAKE UP YOUR MIND TO DO SO!!! God bless you!..
