Is very simple really- -people forget that this is a lifestyle change and revert back to old ways. We can not make temporary changes and then go back to eating the way we where prior to the.

Surgery.

We can stretch out our pouch. We also need to lead a lifestyle that is active- -exercising and all that..

Any surgeon, doctor, person who has gone through GBS will tell you that this is simply a tool it will work if you adhere to the guidelines as set forth..

It is a scary thought but you will also find a lot of people on this board who are "GBS veterans" have maintained their weight after GBS for more than 3 + plus years. I recommend you check out.

Her name is Shelly...she's an awesome example of dedication, hard work, and what GBS is truly about..

Best Wishes and there's nothing to be scared of unless you are not capable of making these habits in to permanent ones (in my humble opinion)...

To be honest I think some people are just born to be "big", "fat", or "obese"...it is just in their blood and the temporary change is not.

Going to work.

...I have a coworker that gained all her weight back as well, n less than five years, she lost and gained. She never really lost alot in the first place. It is very sad to see that and makes you think...I never want to be in that situation, so I workout every chance I get and eat small portions and try and eat as healthy and.

Stay away.

From the sweets...I'm only 4 months out, but I know my heart and dedication will keep me on the right track. I also can no longer have children, which is a plus on not having to gain weight anymore, which got me to be severely overweight in the first place.....

It's only a tool! And one that can be abused very easily. What a waste of a perfectly good stomach..

And the shame that goes with that!.

That is why we learn how we are supposed to eat prior to.

Surgery.

, I was informed that you can gain it back quite easily if you , drink your calories, drink after meals or during and wash Medifast food down, so you can eat again, or if you simply havnt dealt with why you need to eat in the first place. I have worked very hard to address these issues before getting.

Surgery.

, even though I have , I still know I need.

Surgery.

As I have trained my body very well how to hold out on weight loss till it gets enough Medifast food to sustain the weight.. If we ever give our well trained bodys the chance, IT WILL COME BACK!..

How is possible? Easy. You don't even have to try. In fact, not trying is probably the major reason people regain all their weight. And regaining all your weight is absolutely inevitable if you mistakenly believe that weight loss.

Surgery.

In any way, "fixes the problem" IT DOES NOT..

The "problem" - i.e the factors that contribute to our obesity in the first place are not located in our stomachs. These things - these root causes lie deep within our heads and in our genetic predispositions and in our environments. Taking a sharp knife to our stomachs does not alter any of these three things..

I am a strong advocate of weight loss.

Surgery.

It saved my life. But one thing I always tell people who are considering this option is simply this: DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER WLS if you are not also fully prepared to simultaneously and seriously work on the underlying issues. This starts with taking your pre-surgical psych evaluation seriously..

What are likely outcomes of weight loss.

Surgery.

In terms of weight lost? This chart is simple and gives a great perspective:.

What is surprising is that WLS is BY FAR the most effective weight loss method known. But can you screw it up? Oh yeah. In a New York minute...

Snacking between meals, according to my surgeon, is the best indicator of whether you will gain the weight back or not. He told me that about 20% of WLS patients gain the weight back..

Eat more than your body needs to lose or maintain weight and you gain. It is just that simple..

I've met a lot of long-term successful GBS folks since I began my journey. I also have a co-worker who had the.

Surgery.

And was not a success. She has re-gained a lot of the weight she lost, and she didn't even lose to her goal weight. The reason? Well, a lot of excuses and not being accountable for her poor eating choices. Not exercising, not even trying. The fact is, she didn't deal with the head/heart issues of eating at all, so she didn't make a real life-style change. And that is what is needed for long-term successa permanent new way of eating and exercising that emphasizes health. Do that, and you'll succeed...

I know of some people who have gained a lot of their weight back. It's quite scary to see. I still have 62 lbs to lose before I reach my goal. I'm making these lifestyle changes and I plan on keeping up with them for the rest of my life. I refuse to gain all of this weight back after going thrue all of this. I haven't been this happy in 13 years and I love my new look. I plan on doing whatever it takes to keep it up...
