Got a quick question: I work two jobs and need some great crock pot Medifast recipes please.? Many thanks for any answer. Another question I got... Oh no, another question about GBS vs Lap vs Sleeve. We've answered that a 1,000 times. Why can't people look it up on google, why do WE have to deal with it again! Geez...

What about the ridiculous question from another WLSer whose spouse is a louse, and is trying to sabotage their wt loss to maintain their control over the person? Really, AGAIN? Geez....

Fools and newbies drive me crazy and why do I have to answer their naive, stupid questions? Some of them are just acting out some kind of neurotic, potentially psychotic, Munchausen troll behavior! Geez....

Read this excerpt from Ashley Judd:.

**********************.

"My friend Victor Chan recounts in his book with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, an exchange between HH DL and a fellow Lama, who had been tortured by the Chinese:.

"'Were you ever afraid?' HH DL asks his brother..

"'No,' replies the man..

"'Really? You never felt fear?' presses the great spiritual leader..

Pause..

"'Yes. I was afraid I would lose compassion for the Chinese,' is his surprising concession..

"I have this book on my iPod. If I get a.

Massage.

, I listen to it, or Archbishop Tutu's wonderful book, which has the added benefit of being in his own irresistible voice. When I heard this line, 'Yes. I was afraid I would lose compassion for Chinese,' it took my breath away..

"My spiritual growth cannot afford the convenience of hate. The cost is too great. It makes me no better than they. I am asked to examine the violence in my own thoughts, where all violence starts. I am asked to regard even 'justified anger' as a dubious luxury. I am asked to remember, I have no idea what I am capable of, under such circumstances.

"What is this grace, that allows me to feel mercy for the murderer?".

**********************.

Why must we suffer fools and newbies? Two reasons:.

"Such were some of you," and.

"'There, but for the grace of God, go I.".

We pay it back, as a consequence of the blessing we have received. It is my responsibility to pay back what I have been given, and to remember I could lose it overnight.....

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can answer it..

Yes, we were all newbies and most of us are still fools about something or other. A support group is just that - we are here for each other, good times and bad.

But, from personal experience, in the wee small hours of the morning, when you are starting to panic because "this doesn't seem normal" or " Whoops I did this, what's gonna happen" questions pop up. Remember that this is a searchable site (bottom of the page where the topics are listed). Chances are real good that it is normalish, that not much bad is gonna happen - but call your doctor if you don't feel better soon and the packing list for the hospital and immediate needs at home are monthly occurances. So search, you'll feel better and know that you're not alone - even at 2AM west coast time..

One of my old teachers said that the only dumb question is the one you don't ask. So ask away, but search too because you can get a quicker response and a broader perspective than an answer from whoever happens to be on line at the time..

The search function, at the top, is set to "Discussions." It will find topics that have been covered many times on the site...

I don't think is the right kind of post for a SUPPORT group. I was taught in.

School.

That there is no such thing as a dumb question....because with the answer you have learned something. We have all been newbies and have all had questions about something..some of mine I'm sure were classified in this category, but I'm glad that someone took the time to reassure me, rather than judge me..

This isn't an easy choice for anyone, it isn't an easy process, and I for 1 am happy to answer and help anyone with whatever question they may have. I'm just hoping that more people on here agree with me on this matter..

As a foolish newbie, I can say that I am thankful for this board and all that the people on here have to offer. I can also say that I dont trust the search function, I would rather hear from someone who is still posting, still on here, still working their program... just makes me feel like I've made a connection with someone who gets me, instead of the ghosts of surgeries past who on god knows what has happened to them. So, when I post and you, or another person replies, it just makes me more confident in the information I've been given - so I am glad that you are going to suffer the newbies and share your gift with us..

Thanks for this post and for the support you give to us all - I dont always comment on your posts, but I read them and they are always great!..

I agree, Ricky, that people should be able to post any question to us. That's what we're here for..

I wish that those who have nothing nice or constructive to say would self-edit themselves out of some discussions, and contribute only when they have something wise to contribute..

Mean-spiritedness helps no one, not even the originator...

Your words, not mine...{:>} Thanks for.

Reading.

It. I guess I depended on the formatted opening, like the three GEEZ, in a row, to introduce the irony..

The point obviously was that we owe support to others because it is what changes us inside, and because it was there for us....

New people are the experts for the next group that comes through here. We can't scare them away or hurt them, when they are already seeking support. I have learned a lot about a soft answer turning away wrath, the hard way. Progress, not perfection on character changes.....

Spread the love... It's not "suffering" so much as a constant reminder of where you are and where you came from. I think of it like parenting... Actually, I wish I could be more active in mentoring, however, I have A LOT more to learn, including getting through my own.

Surgery.

But that's next week... :)..

Great post, great information. If not for this group...I don't know where I would be now. I never would get tired of answering the same question over and over again because it is not the same person. Thank you all for answering my questions..I am sure they were asked before, but you all gave me the respect and love that made me feel welcome. You are right RD, we must help the newbies past it forward. Love you all very much. Joyce..

I read the whole thing and it came off as if you didn't want to answer questions that have been asked before. If a newbie is here and they look at the number of pages for this group...would you wade through every page?? I know I certainly wouldn't! I'm just glad that I have my own support group in my family..there are 5 of us now that have had GBS...therefore I don't have to ask a question to someone that would think I am foolish...
