Quick question... If I cheated on phase 1 of the Medifast Diet what happens? Thanks in advance for any answer. Another question on my mind: I've been doing the plan since Oct. and have lost 32lbs. I am 5 lbs. away from goal but am growing weary.

I want to eat regular foods again, like fruit and cereal.

I am happy with the results but my taste for the foods has changed and I want something different. Help! I'm on the verge!..

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the right answer. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I bump into an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you help..

Change your goal, go one more week on the 5&1 and Transition. Remember, your goal was a number you picked out of the air. If you are comfortable where you are, then transition!..

I know it gets hard but you're only 5 pounds away. I say stay the course. If you stop before you reach your goal you will kick yourself later and it's a slippery slope back up the scale. I have been thinking alot about my self image. I do think of myself as the chubby/fat girl. Who will I be when I'm not in that "comfort zone"? I mean, my perception of myself has been as a heavy person.

If I want to be thinner and healthy I have to become a different person inside and out. Otherwise, I'll keep gaining weight to keep myself at 200 pounds to match with the mental image I have of myself. I have been the person who: overate, secretly ate, didn't exercise, shopped in the big girl's section, etc. I can't be that person anymore. I have to be the person who: stays on plan, exercises, and generally does stuff I don't like in order to meet my long term goal..

So, really: who's trying to get you off plan? Is it fear of being a different person? Is it your old "chunkier" self trying to come back? Fat will fight to stay around; it's like the little devil on your shoulder in the cartoons. It will whisper: have just one bite, you look great already you don't need to lose any more weight, you deserve ________ for all of your hard work, it's not fair you can't eat ________, etc. Take it down to the mat!.

I don't have the answer. I'm still struggling. But, this was a good thing for me to comment on because I had a really disappointing weigh in this morning and I had all of the fear and fat pulling on me to give up. I see now that I really need to quiet those demons and stick to my plan so I'll have a better life..

Good luck and count your blessings that you're only 5 pounds from goal..

Michelle..

WARNING: TOUGH LOVE.

You're growing weary of how you're eating now? But what about after you reach goal? Many veterans have said, to keep off the weight, they don't eat much differently than how they eat now. Adding back, 2 servings each of dairy, fruit, another serving of protein and another serving of vegis. Did you realize that?.

Something to consider as you head to goal...

I agree with kb - if you are happy with where you're at, then maybe you ARE at goal! More important than losing another 5 lbs is to do a proper transition. If you get so burned out that you just start eating "normal" foods without transitioning you stand a pretty good chance of regaining. Also, many people continue to lose weight as they go through transition so you might end up losing that pesky 5 lbs anyway..

Bottom line: Figure out what's realistic & do what's right for you...

Tavonne,.

I know exactly where you are coming from - I am in that exactly place. It started right after the holidays and I can't seem to get completely back into the groove of things. I can't get out of the 200's..

This morning I got up and asked myself 3 questions - do I want to keep getting healthy and eventually not take medication for my diabetes? Do I want to keep learning how to eat correctly? Do I want to live a longer healthy life? I could only answer yes because they are the most important questions with the simplest answer..

I started recording what I am eating again and promised to have follow through with this one thing in my life for once and to give up the "non-thinking" eating..

Pick 3 important questions that are important to you and your weight loss that goes beyond what you are eating or what you want to eat - see what you come up with it. Its helped me and today so far so good - one day at a time..

Take care, Anna Marie..

Thanks for all the wonderful responses! That's what I like about the program; all the encouragement given by YOU. I will hang in there a little longer. I do have the fear of regaining all the weight, but will try to do the transition to maintenance according to plan. What lies ahead? Only God knows...but I don't want to be fat again. I do know that for sure!..
