Surgery.

On 11/19/10, it's just ridiculously dry and flaky. I'm using lotions. I'd like to know if anyone can tell me if there is a Medifast food or supplement I can take to improve my dry skin? Also, does the.

Are you getting your water in?.

Use moisturing natural soap without chemicals.

Slather your new body with tender loving care!..

I had seriously dry skin immediately after.

Surgery.

And all through that first winter. I did everything Lu and Lcat have suggested. I had to make peace with showering every other day and slathering myself with lotion, hand cream and lip balm whenever I thought about it. I also have humidifier which is on whenever I'm in the room. I bought a second one this year for my bedroom. I find that it helps my sinuses tremendously!.

And yes - drink lots of water, decaf beverages, etc.Hydrating from the inside beats any lotion you can find! I also used a hair lotion at night to help my dry hair which was thinning at an alarming rate at months 4-5. It's by FrizzEase, creme lotion Hair Repair Serum. Seriously good stuff. I have curly hair which gets even more unruly when it's dry. And Lu - I also have the green chick lotion called My Silouette by Nivea. I like it but I don't think I've used it enough to see spectacular results.

But anyway - overdo it with the hydration, lotions and other stuf for awhile and see if anything makes a difference. I don't know if taking in more healthy oils and fats will make a difference. An Opthamologist suggested increasing my oil intake to help with my dry eyes ( as well as drops, warm compresses, etc.. ) The first two things she suggested were.

Flax.

Seed oil and.

Fish oil.

Neither sounded like somehting I was willing to take..

Oddly enough, the dry eye started post.

Surgery.

And I was baffled that there would be a connection, but it makes sense..

Take care!..

My skin turned painfully dry when I started my weight loss program pre-op. No added fats & very low calories = dry skin. Even with the 12 glasses of H2O I was drinking daily. I started gently dry brushing before I shower (looked like it was snowing the first time I did it... so gross) and massaging my damp skin with neutragena's sp?) light sesame oil. It worked much better than lotion for me and the neutragena absorbs quickly - so you aren't a grease bomb when you get dressed.

And nothing feels better than brushing my skin in the morning!..

Oil of Olay Shower Lotion - Put it on as directed IN the shower but don't rinse it off completely as instructed... Fantastic!.

And Lu - It don't smell girly!!.

I had a dermatologist appt last month - She kept oooing and awwwing about how great my skin looks! (I am 66 - Old dried out lady right? WRONG!).

I also take.

Fish oil.

Caps and ground.

Flax.

Meal in ANYTHING I can find to put it in that I am eating BUT for my general health not just skin texture..

Also try try Berlean's Omega 3 -6-9 Complete Omega Liquid Supplement sold in most grocery stores with Wellness sections in the refrigerated section...
