Reposting in June!.

Happy Monday all!.

It looks like most of you are doing well and jumpin into the summer swing. Here in Oregon the weather seems stuck on February! (We hit our average rainfall rate for June on the 3rd!) The sun made a brief appearance this Saturday and was enjoyed by all!.

It was a tough week for me, I stepped off plan on Thursday (the first off plan meal since joining) but picked myself up and got back on plan Friday morning. I've been %100 OP since then. That said, Monday is weigh in day and I am still down 3lb..

With the surgery coming up quickly now, my nerves are most def becoming an issue! We have started to settle a few things as far as who will watch my girls and such, but there is still so much to do! The truth is that as much as I prepare, I will not feel %100 ready. I just am looking forward to having the actual surgery behind me. I always find it easier to deal with a known issue, than what I imagine it to be..

Have a great OP week everyone!..

Good afternoon Diamonds..

Joyce thanks for the new thread and a special Woo-Hoo on your weight loss. You are amazing! Do you have the code or the blue Diamonds 2010 block on your signature. I tried to create it but it wasn't even close. Can you share with a techno challenged sister?.

AFM-It was great to catch up on everybody. I'm following you guys for inspiration..

Have a good OP week!..

Sarah - Good for you, getting right back OP. It seems like a very stressful time for you, planning the surgery and all that. Glad you got it back under control. Hopefully the surgery will go well and smoothly so you can recover and feel better..

Mary - Good to see you here today girl! I don't have the banner code or I would hook you up girl! Sorry! Have a great OP week..

All my other Diamonds who haven't checked in today, hope you are having a good Monday, staying OP, drinking your water, and rockin' your exercise!..

We made it through Monday Diamonds!.

Joyce - Thanks so much for getting us to June and posting role call! Holy smokes, we've become a big group!.

Annisa - How great is that you jumped right back on program? An off program meal or day used to through me over the edge into the land of no return. One step at a time we'll make it to our healthiest selves!.

Sarah - Do you have a surgery date yet? Keep yourself focused on the positive, and visualize yourself healthy, healed, & moving freely in the very near future! You are in my prayers..

Mary - As you can see, I haven't figured out how to post the banner either.

Kori - Four more days until you get to play, play, play!.

AFM- I weighed in 1 day early or 6 days late depending on how you look at it, as I was away from the scale. I expected to weigh in right about the same, or maybe alittle bit up. What a lovely surprise to have a 5 pound loss. OK, more than a surprise -I stepped off the scale in disbelief when I first saw my weight - hopped back on and whooped out loud when the same number came up again! So much for our quiet campaign! For the very first time, I'm starting to believe I can actually make it to onederland!.

Sleep well my friends!.

I know every week won't be this good but what a start! I haven't been hungry, the plan has easy to follow and I'm feeling good and, believe it or not, I have more energy than I did a week ago..

One day at a time, I'll get where I'm going. Medifast is great! Oma..

You know, I've had the banners since I first started and I am very techno-challenged. I'll see if I can copy and past the codes here. Hope it works!!.

Oma ~ I think you may have joined us while I was on vacation, Welcome! And what a great first week you've had, congratulations.

Stick with us, this program works!.

Kori - I look forward to following you into onederland! Enjoy these last couple of days with your current class of kids, before you head off to Texas!.

Joyce - I went to the banner website & tried to figure it out. I failed.

Maybe my DS can figure it out next weekend.

Thanks for trying to post the codes for us!.

Mary - You are doing great, keep it up!.

Sarah - Wow, 5 days in the hospital? It'll be worth it to have your mobility back. Your surgery is on my calender & I will be sending healing thoughts your way..

Annissa - How are the wedding plans going?.

Christina - Are you done with school yet?.

Joy - Sorry to hear your mom is having a difficult time. My prayers are with her, your pop, and you. Remember to take good care of yourself during this stressful time - you deserve it!.

AFM: One of my staff members joined Medifast while I was away. Today she came into my office, dumped box's of oatmeal, strawberry & banana shakes on my desk, & said "If you can turn this library paste & synthetic nastiness into something eatable, you can have it! This has been the longest 4 days of my life." Tonight I baked muffins with the "library paste & synthetic nastiness" and will bring them into her tomorrow. Hopefully she will get into ketosis soon & she will find the muffins more eatable than the individual ingredients themselves. Bed time for me....

Shine on Diamonds!.

Oma-Welcome! Sounds like you're off to a great start. Keep it up!.

Kori-Finish the year strong. I know you're counting the hours now..

Sharon-Thanks for the shout out. I'm sort of a ticker stalker and I see you are so close to onderland! Nice!.

Joy- Hang in there! We're praying for you and the family..

Sarah-Good luck with the surgery! I don't think you have to worry about being OP in the hospital, the food should have you celebrating a return to Medifast ..

AFM- MY DH and I go on vacation in 10 days and it's starting to feel real. I'm taking clothes a size smaller (still big but a size smaller) and I have more energy than I have had in a long time. A nice NSV that I'll celebrate!.

Good morning, Diamonds!.

Hope everyone is well, OP, and happy today. Weigh day isn't great but I'll take my 1 lb. loss while on vacation. Sure would like to make it to 100 at least before we head to Georgia next month to visit my family. They know nothing about MF!.

Interesting day yesterday at my housesmall tornado went right over it. Several large trees down down the street and across the street but none of ours! The big electric pole and all the power lines came down in our yard and we were without power all day. Still don't have phone. Our street looks like it did when we came home after IKE. But no one was hurt so we are very lucky!!!.

Check y'all later. Still playing catch-up here...

Good morning all!.

Hope you are enjoying a happy Wednesday! Things here are quiet today, tonight I will be attending my mom's retirement party. She is "retiring" from teaching at her little rural school... but she plans to return as a sub! I can't imagine her not teaching, she loves it and the kids so much. I am looking forward to seeing her as well, because I haven't seen her since starting MF!.

Sharon, I love your response to your coworker, offering her another try rather than just take the product and run! Shows your good heart! (and yes the 4-5 days in hospital timeline is a bit freaky in and of itself... my background is in OT and I know how quickly they turn around those orthopedic beds these days!).

Mary- Enjoy the thinner you on vacation and at home! Where are you headed? Thanks for the laugh about the hospital food, you are totally right! I hadn't thought about it that way! I plan to bring my Medifast food with me, but I have a feeling I am not going to be feeling a lot like eating anyway!.

Joyce - I am so glad that everyone was ok! We visited some inlaws in Omaha a few years ago, I told them that I would like to see a "small, safe tornado from a ways away" They still tease me about it!.

Have a great day all!..

I just started Medifast 5/29 at about 254.5 ( I never did a start weight until day 2 & it was a lot different from the Dr. Office just 3 days earlier) My goal is 140 although they recommended 125, so I have a long way to go & can use all the support I can find as I have never finished any programs I started, but MUST & WILL DO IT THIS TIME!.

Well hope I can join your group..

Oma - WTG girl! Great first week weigh in!.

Peggles - Welcome, just join in and chat with us here, that's how you join! Pounds to lose can always be a bit daunting, take it one day at a time, one pound at a time. In the beginning one hour at a time.

Sharon - Good for you showing her what can be done with the stuff she doesnt like. You are right, her tastes will change.

Mary - Have fun on the vacation, especially with the smaller clothes! Where are you going on vacation? Are you planning on staying OP? Made a plan for that yet? I loved baking a batch of oatmeal muffins or cookies to bring with me, plus bars, puffs, and shakes. I even baked a few brownies and froze them to bring along on my vacations so I stay OP. I have hit Vegas a couple times, Laughlin, Texas, and Atlantic City staying OP. It definitely can be done but takes some pre-planning for sure..

Joyce - Even a small tornado makes me nervous! That is one thing about California I love, we may have earthquakes but they are few and far between, we don't get them yearly like hurricanes and tornadoes!.

Sarah - I will be thinking about you on the 24th. Can't wait to hear what mom has to say about your weight loss so far! Can't wait to have you stalk me and Sharon into onderland girl! We will do this together!.

AFM - 1 and a half more days left of work. I am super busy but loving it. It is just fun days this week, celebrations, and parties with the kids. We are going to have a field day tomorrow. Oh and a bonus, I rode my bike to work yesterday (5 miles each way)!!!! I plan on doing that all through the month of summer school, really get in my exercise. I love my new bike and it is even better with the bigger, cushy seat I got last week! OK Diamonds, have to get going, love to all of you, drink your water, and stay OP!..

Hi Diamonds!.

Welcome Peggles - You'll love this group of inspiring, humorous, & down to earth people! My starting weight was higher than yours, I'd gained 4 pounds after a strict month on weight watchers, had given up & started Medifast as a last ditch effort to lose the 20 pounds required to qualify me for bariatric surgery. 3 months later I'm down 45 pounds, several sizes, able to walk up a flight of stairs without having a near death experience, and am looking forward to onederland for the first time in 25 years. This program isn't magic, you have to work it, but it really does work! The first week is rough, but once you get into ketosis you won't be hungry anymore and your energy will pick up. Drink your water and check in often!.

Joyce - 5 more pounds and you're down 100 pounds - What a phenomenal achievement!!!! Shesh... that's a whole person you aren't lugging around anymore! So glad no one was hurt with the tornado, the thought scares the jujubes out of me!.

Mary - What a treat to be going on vacation with clothes that are too big... guess you'll "have to" do some shopping.

I second Kori's advice to plan for success. Having baked muffins ahead really helped me to stay on track last week. It was nice to have something "normal" looking to eat at the table with everone else. I also carried my shaker in my bag to use with the fruit punch & mango drink, as they shake up really yummy with soda machine ice. (I don't like shakes unless they are made in the blender) My favorite on the road meal was an envelope of chai dumped into a grande starbucks black ice tea, no water, no classic syrup. My sister tasted my drink & thought I'd ordered a chai from SBs.

Oh... and make sure you don't carry bars in your purse on days you'll be hanging in the sun. Melted, soggy, mess. My puffs & pretzels worked better in the heat for portable meals..

Sarah - Thinking about your surgery, it makes sense that you will be in the hospital longer than most orthopedic procedures. Since they are rebuilding your core structure of support & balance, it seems reasonable that you really want to give it an opportunity to heal before you start doing much rehab. Just remember that pain medication is your friend that first week. The more comfortable you are, the faster you'll heal. Man, your mom is going to be so surprised & happy for you when she sees you!!!!.

Kori - I'm with you, I'll take our occasional shakes over a tornado anytime! I guess the familiar is always less frightening to consider. I used to love the last week of school, we called it Mardi gras 'cause it was definitely a party week. It must be pretty cool to watch your kids grow & change through the year and to know you've impacted their lives in a positive way!.

Christina - You can do this girl! Plan ahead & make good choices the rest of this week, because you deserve it! Good job with the yard work... I think a 1000 calories of lawn mowing qualifies you for some sort of award, or at least a free bottle of Motrin! Man my arms & back are aching just thinking about it! Enjoy your workshop. I love going to classes & conferences, I always come back to work re-energized, inspired, and with lots of new ideas to share with my staff..

Mike - Dying' to hear about your trip to the Big Easy!!!!.

BTW - The muffins I baked for my miserable colleague were a hit. She's stopped using my name in vane for "getting her into this mess" (Mind you, I haven't suggested Medifast to anybody. I just answer the question when asked what I'm doing..

) and is preparing her next order..

Holy smokes... I rambled on tonight. I promise to be less verbose tomorrow!.

Thank you to all for all of these inspiring posts and for welcoming me! So funny & motivating , heart warming and supportive. Hope I can add as much as the rest of you..

Oma- what an awesome first week!!!!.

Kori, WOW 10 miles a day....incredible and WTG!.

Sharon, I'm guessing you bypassed the gastric bypass and will let this work for you. So glad you are feeling better and getting healthier. I also had ended up with loads of very expensive tests justy to basically confirm what I knew already.... I was fat, crazy & menopausal! Well can't do anything about the other two but I finally reached my breaking point with the weight!.

I am pretty much sticking to plan, but find myslef starving this 2nd week to the point I can't keep my head up to drive home from work, so I have added an extra Medifast when needed and today even had some extra chicken and I feel much better and my carb count is still below 70 and calories under 1000 and I have lost weight so I guess I'll do whatever I need to do to keep moving forward even if I need to deviate a bit... just try to make healthful, mindful choices..

Joyce, I hope things are getting better for you & your neighbors & Sarah I will keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery..

Well I look forward to chatting with you all and eventually will figure out how to update the My Page and my signature!.

Have a great night,.

Happy Saturday Diamonds!.

It's a beautiful day in my neck of the woods and am hoping it is the same in yours!.

Peg- You're doing a good job staying on track. On those days when you must up your intake, you may want to stick to lean protein vs an extra Medifast meal. That way you stay in the right carb range, your blood sugar stays more stable, & protein usually takes care of hunger better than anything else. (Cheaper too.

) There are days when a 1oz reduced fat string cheese or an extra 2 oz's of roast chicken have saved me from diving into high fat, high carb, mindless eating. Especially at that (Uh hum) TOM. Sometimes, on especially hungry days, I split my L&G into 2 meals and choose the items with the most bang for the buck. (IE: eggbeaters or shrimp - servings are huge!) And never under estimate the power of a cold, crunchy, salty, Clausen's pickle - they has gotten me through many a craving & urge to chew.

Geri- So glad you are back on the saddle & moving forward! You have come so far on this journey and inspired so many along the road. I know you will make it to your goal, one step at a time, 1 loving & positive choice at a time. Girl, you deserve a healthy, comfortable, & joyful life!.

Kori - I hope you are living it up on this first day of vacation!!! Have a great time in Texas!.

Hugs to everyone, enjoy this beautiful day!.

Good Sunday Morning Diamonds,.

Welcome Peggles! You just joined! You posted a note and you're in! This group is very positive and supportive. This is also the quietest I've ever seen it. I know there are several of us on vacation or just coming back. You'll find lot of support here. I hear ya about having a long way to go. I started 30 pounds heavier than you are now.

Drink plenty of water, remind yourself there is more food coming in 3 hours and most of the food tastes better a couple of days into it..

The first week loss on the scales-well worth it..

Come back often for support as you start out and check out everyone's success. You'll be successful too! Good luck this week..

Sharon-I'm packed for the trip and planning 4and 2 program since I'm traveling with my in-laws and will be eating lunch and dinner with them. I'm committed to making it work. The scales will tell when I get back..

Joyce-Good grief girl! I'm glad you're okay. Nice weight loss for your trip. I hope I'm as lucky..

Sarah-My MIL also retired to keep teaching and is now 70 and planning a long term sub assignment for next year. I hope your Mom's party was great. How'd she like the smaller you? You're doing great!.

You and Joyce will be shocking some family this summer. Woo-Hoo! Nice huh?.

Joy-I haven't seen anything recent from you and miss hearing from you. I hope all is well and I'm still praying for you all..

AFM-It's getting busy here again and I can tell from the board you guy are busy too. I'm taking my computer with me on vacation so I can stay inspired and on track. I may not post, but I'm keeping an eye on you guys!.

Be strong and OP for me!.

Good Morning all you sparkling Diamonds.

!!! Hope everyone is doing great.

The summers are my favorite time of year!!! Love the heat, (I know I am crazy), but the warmth of the sun, is so comforting to me, being with family, longer days, everything about summer!!!.

Lately, I am having soooo much trouble staying focused. The weekends are killing me, (literally) if you know what I mean. And when I go "off" program, boy do I feel like C%^&!. My stomach bloats, my feet swell, all the symptoms before I started Medifast return..

So my question, is WHY, WHY do I do this to myself???? Lack of self control, lack of desire for me, what and why am I sabotaging my self. SOOO frustrating. I have done so well, on this program, never had anything like it, so why do I do this....

I have all the support in the world from my family friends, etc. There is a little person in my brain somewhere that needs to GO!!!! That person is what is literally my biggest sabotager. What makes me get to a certain stage of a programs, and then gives in to that sabotaging brain???? It is like a garbage bag, I need to take that trash out, so I can go on with the new me, that is trying to break out, and that darn "sabotager" will not let it escape..

So this morning, I Annisa Mueggenborg, is recommitting herself, to the Medifast plan 100%. I will drink my water, journal my meals, put the sabotaging self to sleep, and eventually remove that part of me. SIGNED Annisa Mueggenborg.

I know this plan is the best I have ever done, I feel better than I have in literally years, look better, have more energy, feel less bloated, so WHY is that sabotager doing this..........

WILL PREVAIL, and I WILL WIN this Weight loss battle for good!!!!!!.

Thanks to all who have listened, read and support this recommittment..

You guys are the best...............

Good morning Diamonds!.

Seems like summer is in full swing, hope those of you on vacation are having a great time and staying OP! The retirement party was very fun, although my mom had no comment on my weight loss, several of her coworkers did!.

Peg - Stick with it, it will get easier! It took awhile for my body to adjust, but now I have a lot of energy!.

Annisa, What a great statement! You will do it, just tell that little guy hiding in there to "shut up!"..

One of the most amazing discoveries I have experienced thus far is that I can say "no" to myself! Sounds silly, but it has made a world of difference in my thoughts about all this. When it is hard to say no to myself, I start making a mental list of all the things I am saying "yes" to instead. We are all saying yes to life, health, more joy, more fun, doing things we haven't been able to do in a long time...... my list is getting longer every day. Just this week, I decided that next summer I want to learn how to ride a bike again. I am saying yes to riding my bike (which I don't even own currently) with my girls in tow on a warm Oregon summer day! I am saying yes to hiking with my husband.

The sun has finally shown up here in Oregon, we had a beautiful day yesterday and my folks took the girls overnight. Alone time with my husband, what could be better! have a great Sunday all!..

Annisa - Love the recommitment girl! Good luck! Try and stay away from the temptations for the first little bit on the weekends. Keep your snack if you need it handy. Celery, pickles, whatever is gonna work. Drink lots of water which shouldn't be a problem with the heat and exercise your right to tell yourself, No! Come on the boards when you are tempted to cheat if needed and we can "talk you down" LOL..

Sarah - Glad you got some sun up in Oregon! Love your "Say Yes" list. That is awesome! Let me know when you get the bike and start riding with your girls. I got one for my birthday last month and I am freakin' lovin' it! I have even committed to start riding it to work when I start teaching summer school!.

AFM - Lazy day here in Texas. Spent the better part of the morning in bed with BF, just cuddling and talking. It was awesome! He hasn't seen me since February so he keeps looking at me funny and saying how he can't believe how good I look! It feels so good! Alright ladies, I am off for a bit. Drink your water and stay OP, make good choices, choices for yourself! Later Diamonds!..

Annisa & thistime4sure : Good job on the recommitment. Some days the lifestyle change is hard to stick to. I keep telling myself I can eat whatever I want, I'm just choosing to eat my medifast products and other healthy foods. I know we can all do this..

Kori : Sounds like Sunday was a fabulous day in Texas! Congrats on the keeper BF!.

AFM : Not much happening here. I'm mostly staying OP and exercising everyday. This last week was my lowest weight loss yet (-1.4 lbs), but at least it wasn't a gain. I'll do all the same stuff this week and maybe next week also, ie: the same amount of exercise and food, and see if there is any change at the next recorded weigh-in. If the numbers aren't better within the next 2 weeks I may change up my routine a little bit. I know it's easy for our bodies to get into a rut.

Every time I get on it is so inspiring. Been really busy & never logged on this weekend except to post the meals. Spent most of the weekend gardening ( and burning those calories). It was just so nice to be out in the sun, and for me playing in the dirt is really therapeutic I did about 13 hours ... so the energy has finally kicked in! Then had to run errands & pack as I am going to Boulder tonight for work meetings for a few days. So my 1st trip since starting MF.

Oh and by the way, I lost about 3.5 at my weigh in so , so far I am down 8.3 for 1st 2 weeks, so not too bad. A loss is a loss.

Sharon & Kori & Mary, thanks for the advice. I defintely agree that the protein helps the most. Thanks for the cheese idea. I always forget about that as a protein choice..

Annisa, great statement and This Time has it right... This time will be the time for both of you... each time gets you closer... Sarah, love you positiviely and thanks for reminding us of all the things we are saying Yes to... some great thoughts there..

Well need to wrap up and head to the airport... I shoul;d actually get to my hotel in another 7 hours.......

Have a great OP Monday.

Happy Monday Diamonds!.

Ohhh, how I envy those of you with dirt to dig and plant in. Hours in the garden sounds devine! That said, living in an apartment has perks! I don't have to replace my fridge when it breaks. I just call and they bring me a new one!.

I am super excited about my weigh in today, down 6 lbs! Seriously? I rechecked a couple of times, and sho'nuff. I haven't had a weigh in like that since my first week! It looks like I will need another new goal for presurgery weight loss! My first was 20, then 30....hmm what seems reasonable for a 10 day time period....perhaps 5 more??.

Got to hop off now, the baby is sick and needing mommy a lot. (She was in the hospital with RSV and pneumonia in Jarnuary and now gets nasty wheezy sick with every cold.) Send some prayers her way for quick recovery and for the germs to stop at her!..

Sarah - Hope the baby gets better. Hugs and prayers being sent her way. WTG! on the weigh in this week! You are killing it girl!.

Peggles - Have fun in Boulder. Hope you have everything together and planned so you stay OP while away from home. Let us know if you need any extra support! We Diamonds must stick together!.

Jenn - Love that you spent all that time gardening. I have quite the little vegetable garden going at home but I prefer to keep them in pots since I don't want to plant them in the flower beds. That reminds me, I need to call home and ask someone to make srue they don't forget to water. Lots of tomatoes, bell peppers, zucchini and a cucumber plant. I have already had a few cherry tomatoes from them and had a good bell pepper growing before I left. It is so much fun to play in the dirt.

AFM - BF is at work again so I have been playing around here on the internet and now I think I will sit and watch a movie. Later Diamonds! Drink your water, make good choices, and stay OP!..

Hello all. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Was away to New Orleans for the Microsoft Tech-Ed conference, and spent a long weekend there with my wife first..

I gained about 7 lbs while we were there, but I'm back on track and have lost 4 of it since I got home on Friday. I didn't want to pass up on that fabulous New Orleans food..

Hello my Beautiful Diamond Friends!.

Welcome to all the Newbies. As I'm sure you've already heard, this is a great group of Medifast friends to encourage, support and offer yummy recipes to all!.

I have been away from this board for WAY TOO LONG! I have missed you all and appreciate all the support you have shown me. Through it all, I have stayed 100% OP and now after 10 weeks, I've lost a total of 36 lbs. It just amazes me. The old me would have caved at the first feeling of stress and eaten every unhealthy thing I could get my hands on, so I could push away the feelings. I just finished reading "Women, Food and God" and it has changed my life. If you haven't read it, I would encourage you to.

I no longer need to stuff my feelings with food and then hate myself because I did. It's a vicious circle of sadness. The positive support and encouragement I've received from all of you has made this journey worth while. I only hope that I can be here for you as well.

Speaking of stress, my mother had another crisis last week. She went for blood work last Tuesday, got home around 10:30 am and at 11:00 am, Mayo Clinic hospital called and told her to get to the ER immediately! Her potassium level was through the roof. They told her she could have a stroke or heart attack if she didn't get there ASAP! She spent about 5 hours in the ER receiving heavy medication and was able to see her Nephrologist (kidney Dr.). The next day she was back at Mayo for more blood work and then an actual appointment with her kidney Dr. He told her the two procedures she went through in order to have the stent put in her artery, caused further damage to her one and only kidney (it went from 30% to 18% in function). Next month she will undergo testing to see if she's even a good candidate for a transplant.

After all she's been through, she keeps a smile on her face and is very positive. The funny thing is she's more ticked because he told her not to eat any ham or bacon and she has to be on a VERY low sodium diet. Now isn't that something ... she nearly dies and all she's mad about is her one slice of bacon she eats 2-3 times per week.

Tonight I have been surfing the web and printing lots of great info for her on sodium, phosphorus and potassium rich foods which she will now need to avoid. She's not going to be happy with what I've found - LOL!.

My son turned 14 last Wednesday and then graduated from Middle School last Friday, where he was honored for making straight "A's". We had a birthday/graduation party Friday night and we had a blast. Yesterday he got braces, or should I say, Invisalign. He's so happy to have the clear trays instead of a mouth full of metal. His teeth aren't all that crooked, but his bite if off and could eventually cause problems. He starts doing volunteer work at his new high school tomorrow.

It's the most technically advanced high school in the state of Florida - woo hoo! In Florida, high school students are required to perform a minimum of 75 hours of volunteer/community service work in order to graduate. They have to bar code all of the library books as well as the text books..

I have to go for now, but I will definitely be back here to check on everyone. Joyce - I hope you got your power and phone service back! and I'm so glad you are safe! Kori - hope you're having fun in Texas. Mary and Sharon - extra ((hugs)) for keeping me and my family in your prayers!!.

Hey an ounce is an ounce Joyce. Take it and run with it. Next week will be a bigger loss..

AFM - Today is normal weigh in day but I am going to wait until I get home on my regular scale. I checked on BF's scale but I don't think it is right. It is hot here in central Texas.

And I am torn between taking a few days "off" now that school is out and my conference is over, but there is so much to do. The flower beds out front need digging out and the yard needs mowed once again. But you can burn major calories on yard work and mowing, so it is just getting up early enough to "beat" the heat, but when it is 80 at 7 am, there is not much chance of beating it..

I am so amazed at the progress you all are making. I had a couple weeks there were I did not stay 100% OP. I finally hit 10% of me gone!! Now I want to go for the next 10%..

There are so many of you dealing with stresses. I pray that everything will work out in the end..

NSV I got several compliments when I went over to school to clean out the fish tank that had been neglected. Someone even commented on my complexion. Not sure about why my skin has improved, but I will take the compliments, they go a long way in helping pass up on a temptation..

Headed to Nebraska next Tuesday for my mom's American Legion Auxiliary Convention. She is being installed as president for the state. We haven't seen each other since November. I am hoping the yard work I have to do this week will give me a boost in firming up some areas, otherwise, I am pretty happy with the results of the last 12 weeks. She knows I am on Medifast..

I am also trying to get my former principal interested in the program. She is taking steroids for some inflammation issues and has put on some weight. At 4'11", she is quite concerned about it..

Sorry to ramble on so much. I hope you all have a great day and week..

BTW just tried the banana shake this morning, so wishing I had ordered more than one box!!!!!..

Evenings Diamonds!.

Thanks, everyone for the encouraging words. I can't believe how the weight loss of the first couple of weeks has give me so much energy..

Yes, Sharon, I'm sure you must have been away and I slipped under the wire. I send Joyce and email and she added my name to the list before I ever even posted. I'm here now and love how you encourage each other..

I don't know everyone yet but I'll learn as I go along. Medifast is an evolving experience. I learn something new everyday!.

I just ordered some DaVindi syrups. There are so many shakes that I decided I'd better do something to mix it up a little. I haven't even looked at a receipe yet as one of the reasons Medifast appealed to me as that there was no preparation..

I'm always going so grabbing 4 packages of food in the morning was what I needed..

It's paying off - as you can see by my ticker - and I'm delighted with the process!.

On my way to see my mom at the nursing home so I'll see you next time, Diamonds!.

Yahoo - Hump day is done and we made it through Diamonds!.

This has been an intensely busy week, and I haven't had time to visit the boards. Looks like I have a fair amount of reading to catch up on this weekend! Just wanted you to know I'm thinking of all of you! I've noticed that since coming back from vacation, resisting BLT's has gotten more challanging.... I recommitted Monday & have been 100% back on track since. I'm feeling too good to explore that slippery slope - you know the one - If I lost 5lbs on vacation and I had a martini & knadles (a German dough dish that is fried in butter & drizzled with cream... no redeeming value what so ever), it won't hurt me to have one nacho or taste my husband's birthday cake. I am choosing my health, improving self-esteem, and a new feeling of freedom inside my own skin, instead of fleeting satisfaction that leads to lingering disappointment.

Here's to us and the healthy choices we make every day!.

Oma, you are doing great with your 16.4 loss already! Keep it up..

Kori, glad you're having fun in Austin. Do you go down to 6th Street? Your monkey theme sounds neat. My DIL is doing her room (1st grade) with animal prints next year. Since I have always loved leopard print especially I have lots to share with her! Anxious to see how it turns out. Yours too! Maybe you can post some pics when you get it done..

Christine - I hear ya on the heat. I don't even want to venture outside it is so hot. At least when I am home, it gets real hot, but it is a dry heat no humdity and since we technically live in the desert, it cools off at night. So it may be 110 during the day, it is 50's at night. This not cooling off thing and humidity in Texas is killing me!.

Joyce - I walked around 6th street the other day but we don't usually go. Not really a bar girl usually and since I can't even have anything to drink now on MF, I just don't go. Plus, BF works swing shift so he is gone in the evenings. Oooh, love your DIL class them. I will post some pics of mine once I have it going..

Sharon - Love that you have recommitted to no BLT's! It is hard when you still do well and have those, then you start that slippery slope you mentioned. I can't start it cuz my azz would fall right down the slope and be at the bottom in no time!.

AFM - Need to go and make a oatmeal pancake or something to eat. Drink you water Diamonds!..

Oatmeal Pancake.

1 packet oatmeal.

1 egg white.

1/4 t. baking powder.

1 packet splenda (I use french vanilla splenda so I don't add any SF syrups).

About 1/4-1/3 c. water.

I add water little bit by little bit until it is all mixed, then pop it into a pam sprayed pan and there's your pancake. Very simple and quick. Another way to make oatmeal grab and go. I make one big pancake but you could make several small ones. I am lazy and only want to make one so that's what I do...

Home before dark, sunlight is a beautiful thing!.

100% OP, almost done with my 12th glass of water, and one more Medifast meal to go. Hmmm... might be a milkshake kind of night.

Feels good to be mentally back on track..

Kori - The pancake sounds good, I'll have to try it with my one remaining oatmeal mix. Yup, I've tumbled head over heels down that slippery slope before and I'm too determined to go there again. Heck, if you can go to AC and stay 100% OP, I can certainly get through a day with out BLT's!.

Joyce - I'm so glad your home (and you!) didn't suffer any ill effects from the twister! I saw the temperatures in Texas for this week and it cut my whining about our 80 degree weather to the quick. I guess the heat makes it easier to get your water in.

Christine - Is the cinnamon dolce syrup straight cinnamon or does it have something else added? I don't usually like syrups in my coffee - too sweet for me. But I do like spicy, so I'm thinking the cinnamon dolce might be a good addition to my muffins, puddings, & shakes?.

Have a wonderful Friday!!!.

Hi This Time & All,.

I found the DaVinci syrups locally at my Giant Store at their Coffee Bar. I use the Vanilla & Carmel flavors @ 1TBS each in my coffee and it has helped me get over my year for the flavored creamers...well not 100% but getting there..

The local selection is limited so I was thinking of ordering a few online..

I haven't started exploring any recipes yet, like OMA the grab & go is what really appealed to me and so far I have really liked everything. I would say I like the eggs the least..

Hope that helps ,.

Sharon, the ingredients on the bottle don't tell me much. The main flavor is cinnamon, but there is another, maybe vanilla or caramel in the background. I am not good with differentiating tastes..

I tried it with my frozen chai latte this morning and it was a nice addition. When I used it to make an oatmeal cake, the consistency of the cake was off, not sure if I didn't measure the water carefully enough..

NSV. This is the first day 100% OP in quite some time, not even any snacks in between. Keeping busy helped. My husband travels for a week every other week and now that school is out, it was really hard to stay OP this week. I will need to make sure there are no idle minutes to be tempted to snack. I do have celery in the frig ready just in case..

I spent this week, sad that it took all week, but I went through my closet and drawers. I tried on so many items of clothing, I lost count. It was so nice to make a huge pile of stuff that is too big. I rearranged and organized everything into sections of what I can wear right now and stuff that will soon fit..

I had to buy new jeans to get through spring break this year. One of the pairs I bought was too small, so I kept them knowing I was starting the program after SB. Well, I proceeded to shrink right past them. Oh well, maybe my sister in law will enjoy them. I am left with only one pair of jeans that actually fit. And with the insane heat here, there is no need to get any.

I tried some new products in the latest order. The Smores crunch bars are quite tasty, they smell just like graham crackers. I also like the cherry pomegranate shake. Frozen with a packet of sweet n low, it was quite refreshing. I bought one of the Starbucks insulated tumblers that look like their cold drink cups. Kind of cheesy, I know, but it is the perfect size to hold a Medifast shake blended with ice.

Enough for now. Finishing my Parmesan puffs then off to bed. I hope all of you had a successful week and have a great weekend..

Good Morning Diamonds!.

Christine - I never separate eggs, cause there is a part of me that just can't throw the yolk away :P Anyway, in my experience, the egg whites in the carton give your muffins/cakes/ etc more rise than do the egg beaters. Congrats on being back OP 100%!!! This journey we're on isn't an easy one, but you are worth it! And good for you getting rid of the clothes that no longer fit - that sends such a clear message to our "fat brains" that this time is for real! I've asked my local Starbucks to order me one of the cups you mentioned. My work partner has one and they don't sweat, keep things cold, and are the perfect size for shakes and my beloved afternoon frozen chai. I'm gonna check out the cinnamon Dulce syrup as well, I'm ready to mix up some of my favorites. Stay busy today, drink your water, and know that every step you take in your hot Texas weather is melting the pounds a way!.

Kori - Enjoy your last days of vacation! I've only been to Austin once for a music festival, what a fun town! Don't get to hot and play hard girlfriend! I've never seen flavored Splenda, I'll have to look for it... yum!.

Peg - I'm with you on the Medifast eggs, big yuk! But they are great in muffins & other Medifast recipes. My daughter loves the eggs with 1T minced up green onion, 1T minced fresh basil, a sprinkle of garlic & a couple of drops of Tabasco sauce. One of my co-workers mixes in 1 laughing cow light cheese wedge, salt & pepper and swears she can't tell the difference from regular scrambled eggs..

Oma - You're rocking this program, way to go!!!!.

Joyce - I've been watching your ticker with admiration and excitement - You are so close to the big 1-0-0 and not far from goal either!!! Keep up the good work my friend!.

Happy Saturday to Sarah, Karen, Mike, Denise, Joni, Janet, Jennifer, Joy, Judi, Jules, Karen, & Shell! Hope all is well in your world, enjoy the day!.

AFM: Time to get my rear end in gear and get my chores done! I love lazy Saturday mornings ~ sleeping in and slowly starting my day on the porch with a cup of coffee and my lap top.

Now need to get back on the exercise stick this week... haven't done anything since I got back.

Boulder is absolutely beautiful and the St.Julien Hotel phenomenal if you ever get to go.

Hi Diamonds! I'm back. Busy hot weekend at the ballpark. DGD did great. Made some awesome outs at home, playing catcher, and hit several doubles! It was so hot though..

Had fun and stayed OP. Woohoo for me..

Got caught up on reading posts. Glad everyone is doing well and staying busy. Keep it up. I'll try to get back soon..

Sarah, I'll be thinking of you Thursday for sure, girl!!..

Hey Diamonds!.

I just finished reading all of this month's posts - whew - I'm worn out! Looks like everyone is doing just wonderfully on this Medifast journey..

Kori - Sounds like you had fun in Texas. So do you have any other trips planned this summer?.

Joyce - I can relate to your "heat" issues. Glad your DGD did so well this past weekend..

Christine - Glad you were able to go through all of your clothes and get rid of some because of your shrinking self - Congrats! I'm having the opposite experience. I'm now shrinking back into my clothes from my huge weight loss in 2008. By December 2008, I was down to 166 lbs. I spent 2009 and the first 3 months of 2010 gaining all +18 lbs. back - ugh! That's the past and I've put it behind me. I'm just happy I had the courage to start again in April 2010! Medifast has been a miracle for me and I know this will be the LAST time I have to endure this..

Sharon & Mary - I've missed talking to you girls! What's been going on in your lives???.

I found something new and just had to share. I went to a new store last week called "Native Sun". I knew they sold healthy food, but found out they only carry organic food. I felt healthy just being there - LOL! I was looking for PB2 or the Walden Farms pancake syrup, so needless to say, they didn't have either. I did find flavored liquid Stevia by Sweet Leaf. I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a try.

I also bought a bottle of all natural maple (alcohol-free) flavoring liquid that's meant to be used in candies, cakes, etc. I haven't used it yet, but thought I might try it with the French vanilla shake to make pancakes. I also went to my favorite Starbucks and had them order me a case of their sugar-free vanilla syrup. Now I'm set for the Summer! Today I mixed the Medifast hot cocoa with a little water, threw in a bag of crunched up cinnamon pretzels and divided it into two servings spread out on a paper plate. After an hour in the freezer, I whipped up 2 Tbsp of PB2 and divided it between the two as a topping. Can't wait to snack on those later - YUM! I've combined the cocoa and pretzels before and the cocoa and PB2, but never all three..

This Friday, hubby, son, stepson & his girlfriend, sister-in-law, nephew, best friend, her hubby and my cousin are all heading to Orlando. My stepdaughter married last June, but didn't have a wedding. This coming Sunday, they will renew their vows in front of family and friends, with about 50 guests in attendance. It will be outside from 3 pm - 7 pm, so please pray that I don't melt in this dreadful Florida heat/humidity.

I'll try and post some photos when I get back. My son is taking his laptop, so I'll be able to log my meals each day - yippee! We're staying at one of our timeshare resorts which is a huge 2 bedroom with a full kitchen, etc. so staying 100% OP will not be a problem for me. I'll be able to bring my kitchen scale, magic bullet and all my yummy food..

Well I've gotta run for now, but will check back later..

Happy Solstice a day late.

I'm loving the sun shine!!!! I've been very hungry the last two days, so made a giant shrimp salad for my L&G tonight... yummy! Weighed in today and saw a number I haven't seen since high school, man am I grateful that my DD introduced me to MF!.

Joy - What is PB2? I sure do miss peanut butter, and if this is an OP way to get that pea nutty goodness, I need to try it.

Take good care of yourself my friend!.

Good Morning, Diamonds!.

I've been lurking a lot lately. Everyone is doing so well! I'm back in the game and really committed - This is my 3rd day of being OP. Not weighing in until July 4th. It's been hard getting back into ketosis, but it feels good..

A friend and I started the Couch to 5K program on Monday and I'm slowing adding in weights. My goal is to get under 200, then I may transition off of MF; I've been on it for a long time now, and I wonder how healthy it is to be eating this for so long..

Kori and Joyce - thanks for not giving up on me!.

I truly appreciate it. You two have kept me coming back, if even just to lurk..

Have a wonderful day, Diamonds!..

Sharon: Congrats on your continued weight loss and here's the answer to your question on PB2 -.

PB2: Powdered Peanut Butter (from Bell Plantation website).

Where it all started:.

We call it peanut butters second generation because it's unlike any peanut butter youve ever experienced. Through a unique process that doesnt involve the use of any chemicals and doesnt alter natures intended balance found within the peanut, we remove over 85% of the fat from premium quality peanuts. Essentially, the oil is squeezed out of roasted peanuts and what remains is our famous powdered peanut butter all natural with no artificial sweeteners or preservatives. When you mix water or a favorite drink with PB2 you get the same consistency as full-fat peanut butter, with all the roasted peanut flavor, but 85% less fat calories. Visit our Recipes section for some exciting flavor combinations and other great ideas for using PB2..

Mix 2 Tablespoons of PB2 with 1 Tablespoon of water and stir until smooth..

Can be mixed directly with jelly or jam for a PB2 and jelly sandwich..

Use your imagination with other liquids to develop your own unique flavors..

Or, dip fruit directly into powder..

You can order it from:.

Here's What Medifast has to say about it:.

Greetings! Although generally not recommended while following the 5 & 1 Plan, you may choose to incorporate 2 LEVEL Tablespoons of PB2 or chocolate PB2 and count it as your one optional snack choice for the day..

Have a great day!.

All I can tell you is it is to die for! I only ate one of my chocolate covered cinnamon pretzel patty topped with PB2 last night and it was the best thing I've eaten in weeks.

You know I wouldn't stear you wrong!.

Hi there Diamonds!.

Karen!!!!! So good to see you! I understand about being on Medifast so long. I'm with you. About 2 weeks will be one year for me. But it's been worth it..

Joy, how did we survive without you and your recipes??? I tried some muffins the other day that were to die for. I think it was your recipe4 oatmeals, 1 scrambled egg packet, and 1 pudding? 6 meals and wonderful!! I wanted more but ran out of oatmeal so I subbed a shake for one of the oatmeals and it was yummy too! Think I'll try chocolate next time. Wonder which oatmeal would taste best as chocolate? Or maybe use brownies instead of oatmeal? What do you think?.

AFM weigh day and 1 lb. At least it's better than .4 like last week!!.

Y'all have a good one...

Good Morning, Diamonds!!.

Has anyone heard from Sarah? Her surgery was yesterday, right?.

Not much to report here. I'm doing so much better this week on MF. Been reading a book called "One Day Way" and it's really good. I'm reading it slowing to really think it through. We're going to see Toy Story 3 today. My boys are super excited (I don't know the last movie they saw in a theater)..

We didn't walk this morning, and I may do something this morning on my own. Not sure, we shall see! Have a great day, everyone!..

[quote=justjoyce][size="3"][color="Purple"]Hi there Diamonds!.

Can you believe next week is the end of another month!!??.

No, I can't!!! Hard to imagine I started this 4 weeks ago tomorrow! Knowing how quick this time went and the success so far gives motivation that I can go one more day, week & before you know it another month and hopefully a few more punds gone for good!.

Seeing all of your successes really helps. Finally got some time to start reading blogs & started with Lealonnie from her beginnings.... was laughing & crying out loud... can't wait to read more.

Karen, the PB2 sounds awesome... that is defintely something I miss. Also I wish they could come up with a pizza type item... that would help a lot... I think they are the 2 things I miss the most.

Well gotta rest up have to be up at 230 AM for my Church Prayer hour and then my work has a team in the Relay for Life tomorrow. I'm not staying the whole 24 hours, but I am on the schedule to walk 4 - 30 minute seesions between 11Pm and 5:30 AM..... Just like the old days pulling an all nighter.

Have a great weekend,.

OOOPS sorry if I get some names confused... still getting used to it all.

Welcome back Karen.... I think what I kie best about Medifast is even if you get off track, no one ever seems to stray so far that they can't quickly jump back on and readjust. Knowing that there is all this suppor there really helps too. Hang in there... for me it's only been 1 month & I feel like I've had a few deviations that make me go in & out of the ketosis so I know how you feel, but remember it passes quickly.

Joy... thanks for the PB2 idea and I look forward to checking out more of your recipes.

I will try to check back in Sunday night.

Greetings Diamonds!.

Joyce - The picture of your granddaughter & you in your before pants made me smile - what a great picture and what an incredible achievement to lose a whole person's worth of weight!.

Peg - Check out the cauliflower pizza recipes. The one I use is the recipe that I got from another Diamond - Kori I think - that has ricotta cheese in the crust. I know it sounds not so good, but I swear, my family loves it (and doesn't know a cauliflower came anywhere near it.

I top mine with a ton of fresh chopped basil (a whole cup is 1 condiment), the rest of my protein in cheese, & 1/2 cup thin sliced heirloom tomato. Sooo good!.

Karen - Great to see your smiling face when I open up our thread tonight! What is "One Day Way" about? I'm working on losing my brain fat, since I know from experience that losing my body fat doesn't fix the real problem long term - always interested in new perspectives to consider..

Kori - You are smokin' ~ 5 pounds to onederland!!! How's your summer school class going?.

Joy - Thanks for the info on PB2, I can't wait to try it! How's your mom doing?.

Sarah - If you're checking in, you are in my thoughts and prayers! Remember that pain medication is a really good thing these first days, the more comfortable you are the faster you'll recover! Heal strong my friend <3.

Jenn - Looks like you're doing great ~ your ticker is clicking down at a rapid pace!.

Hello to Mike, Christina, Mary, Annissa, and any other shrinking friend I may have missed tonight! Summer time weather is sure easier with some of the weight gone, isn't it?.

AFM:Work continues to be unrelenting, praying that the bottom line gets better soon, not sure how much longer I can keep up this insane pace. It's good to know during this crazy, chaotic time that though I may not have control over much - I do have control over what I eat. So for today, I'm OP, drinking my H2O.... not so great with my exercise, but taking the stairs at work..

Happy Saturday to my favorite losers!!!.

Hey Everyone,.

Added a few posts in last night but don't see anything new... maybe system is down. Anyway just did my weigh in and am down -3.1, so that's 16.6 for the 4 weeks and starting to see some minor changes. Wasn't expecting that this week so feels good..

Have to "run" to the Relay.... hope to check back in tomorrow night if I'm not comatose.

HAve a great weekend,.

Hi Diamonds!.

Sharon - Thanks for asking about my mom. She had some more tests run last Thursday at Mayo, but won't get the results back until next Tuesday. She's been dizzy and still pretty weak, but has her positive attitude and spirit, so she's plugging away. I brought one of my jars of PB2 with me to Orlando and the girls in my family all wanted to try it. They LOVE it and now want me to order them some. I checked the website for local stores selling it and actually found one.

Kori - How long will you be teaching summer school? Are you going to ride your bike to work? I wish I could get motivated to exercise. I think when I get back home, I will start swimming and doing some pool aerobics in my parents' pool. They only live 10 minutes away and the weather is perfect for it. I may need some encouragement from you girls!.

Joyce - Hope you've having a fun weekend with your family!.

Peg - Congrats on your success so far. Isn't this program just wonderful? Definitely try out the cauliflower pizza Sharon suggested because it is wonderful. Pizza is one of my all time favorites and I'll be the first to admit that I HATE cauliflower. I was skeptical, but sooo happy I made it. Now I have one at least once per week. I'm all about trying new recipes because I want to be successful long after Medifast is complete.

I feel now if I did, I would probably get sick. I feel so cleansed and healthy. This Diamonds group has been one of the keys to my success so far, so I'm glad you've joined us.

AFM - I've been in Orlando since Friday and am having such a great time with family and friends. Today is the big day for my stepdaughter and her hubby who will re-new their wedding vows in front of close friends and family, since they were unable to have a ceremony last June when they got married. Her husband has his brother, 2 best friends and aunts, uncles and cousins here from Norway. I have my hubby, son, stepson, his girlfriend, my best friend, her hubby, sister-in-law, nephew and my favorite cousin here. My parents stayed home because I just didn't think my mom was strong enough yet. The ceremony is at the lake and from 3 - 7 pm (in the 95 degree Fl humidity), so it's just too hot! One of the aunts from Norway has already gotten sick from the sun while visiting Disney.

I'm easily staying 100% OP because not only is our resort is a huge 2 bedroom with a full kitchen loaded with all the necessities, but I brought all my Medifast stuff, including my Magic Bullet.

We've been eating in, so I'm happy..

Gotta run for now, will be back with an update on how this evening goes!.

Joy - How exciting having the wedding vow renewal. Glad you are staying OP. It isn't that hard even on vacation as long as you have a plan. I am totally in to help you with doing the exercise when you are ready. I teach summer school for 3 more weeks. I haven't had a chance to ride my bike yet because I have been bringing thing in and out in my car to set up my class for next year or have had meetings right after school which require me to go to another site.

Peg- Great job on the weigh in this week. You are doing awesome! Have fun at the relay!.

AFM - Enjoying my Sunday. Need to go grocery shopping soon. Have a busy week ahead of me, more meetings.

But then a fun long 4th of July weekend. Check back in later Diamonds. Have a great week, stay OP, make good choices, and drink your water!..

Hello Diamonds!.

Sharon : Every bit of movement helps. I'm impressed that you take the stairs, I hate going up and down stairs, so I avoid them at all cost..

Joy : Hope the ceremony wasn't too hot and you took a bunch of photos for your mom. Good luck with the swimming. That's my most favorite physical activity. It doesn't even feel like exercise to me. I walk on the track or treadmill and lift weights, but swimmimg afterwards is my reward..

Kori : Hope you get a chance to ride your bike to work in the next couple of weeks. That's another fun activity straight out of childhood..

AFM : I had a second really good weight loss week. I expect this week will slow somewhat but I am thrilled with where I am so far. This coming Saturday will be my 16th week anniversary and so far I'm feeling good about being on plan. The only goal I had that involved dates was the hope that I could lose 10lbs per month, and I've been able to do it so far..

Keep up the great work everyone!.

Hey Diamonds!.

Kori, Sharon, Peg, Jenn, Joyce, Joy- Wow I can see that you guys are OP! Congrats on the continued weight loss!.

Joyce I had to check out the picture and the blog. Too funny! Too true on the blog. I really need you guys to keep going..

Sarah-If you're checking in, I'm thinking about you..

AFM-I just got back from a 10 day vacation. Stayed OP on the cruise but, was off for the 3 days in New York. I made a few poor choices and ended up with a 4 lbs gain. I should have packed a little differently for the NY portion. Since we were traveling with family, I had t go to the restrrants with them and there was little time to eat in between since I was down to soups and melted bars. I'm okay with that though.

It's 95 plus here and I'm off the exercise wagon, but hope to get back on soon. I'll update my ticker tonight to be honest and hope for a better week now that I'm home..

Stay strong Diamonds!..
