Hi girls!!!.

I just got back from a two mile walk through downtown Atlanta. It's raining out, but that's a favorite of mine... I adore the rain... go figure..

Now to get my work done on the job. *sigh* I have such a stressful job and I'm looking for a new one. I've been putting out my resume and am hoping to hear from someone soon..

Because TOM is here I'm not weighing in this week. Last time I did that I was up several pounds and really freaked out. Well, maybe I'll step on the scale, but if it's up I won't post it because I know it's because of TOM. Oh, I hate this thing that dominates our life once a month!!!.

WONDERFUL News for me today! This was my 4th week weigh-in and I almost fell off the scale when I saw that I'd lost "6 lbs." last week, really?! I love Medifast even more now because I KNOW it works if you stay 100% OP. I just can't get over losing 20 lbs. and 9.2% body fat in only 4 weeks. I also got measured today and lost a total of 8". I lost "3 inches" off my waist alone..

I have to tell you that I've been super stressed.

Since last Thursday. My 2nd VIP order was set to ship last Tuesday and when I saw what was being shipped, I freaked out. It was NOT what I thought I'd ordered. No one told me that I'd keep receiving the same items from my original order unless I updated my cart by clicking the button on the right. I was just adding items from the left and assuming that was what I would get. Luckily, I emailed them Tuesday night and they canceled my order.

I talked to a VERY nice guy named Daniel and he went through with me and placed my order. He also educated me on how to place my future orders. Since it was Thursday, he told me my order wouldn't even be selected until Monday (warehouse doesn't work weekends). Then it would take 5-8 days for me to receive it, WHAT?! I totally panicked because I was going to run out of food and then I wouldn't be 100% OP! Two weeks ago, today, I returned 4 boxes of stuff I didn't like and asked Daniel if they'd shipped my replacements yet. He said it was ready for shipment as of 4/28, but could take 5-8 days to get to me.

At 1:00 p.m. today, I heard a knock and my doorbell ring - YIPPEE - my 4 boxes had arrived!!! Two boxes of brownies and two of vanilla shakes! I started doing the.

Happy dance! I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirrored back of my curio cabinet and just busted out laughing at myself. Who knew I could get so excited about 4 boxes of powder filled packets - LOL!!! What can I say ... I'm hooked!.

Anissa - Way to rock this Medifast program! I'm so glad you're having success. We need to remember that when we feel the urge to cheat. It so wouldn't be worth it! I'm so proud of you.

I hope everyone had a Wonderful Weekend and a Marvelous Monday!.

I will not be as happy as Joy was. Congrats on your weight loss by the way. My DH saw my weight loss and joined in. I ordered food last week but it will not be here before I run out. Oh well. Its a test and I'll really be looking for the mailman this week..

Joyce thanks for updating the role. Are we there yet? Are we there yet? I keep waiting for the 199 to post. What's your weigh in day? It's driving me crazy so I'll just pray for you this week. It will happen but sooner would be nice..

Hey Taz- Good luck with the job search and keep up the walking..

Kori- Remember when testing was to measure how well your students had learned and to reinforce learning. Now it's an assessment of next years funding. Go figure. Hang in there girl..

To all the Diamonds! Have a great day...

Hello Diamonds!.

I have been away awhile, but have tried to keep up with everyone's successes and trials by lurking as much as I can. There are so many new sparkly Diamonds now! I have been OP and reading the discussion boards every day. I have been sidelined with some health issues and will hopefully get them resolved in the next couple of months..

- it is great to see you are still keeping things going!.

I see.

Are hanging out here, too! I have missed you guys! I am looking forward to getting caught up with you all and getting to know the rest of the group..

Hi Diamonds!.

Well, the labwork came back from my annual physical and it appears that I have hypothyroidism. My doctor is going to start me on meds. At least it explains my lethargy, ridiculously slow growing hair, and other symptoms I've been experiencing. I'm just unhappy that this had to happen. Oh well. Let's just add another med to the mix..

Have to run now. More later!..

Joy, WTG!!!! 20 lb. is awesome!!! You are doing so great..

Mary, still not there!!! Wed. is weigh day for me. I've stayed OP. I think I probably need to add a shake a day but keep forgetting. That has helped in the past since I tend to not get all my calories in..

Jules, at least you know the problem now and can get it fixed!! You'll be fine!!.

Good Morning Beautiful Diamond Girls!.

First of all "Thank You" for all the compliments on my 1st month's success on MF! I couldn't have done it without everyone's positive attitude and support.

Jules - OMG - I can so relate to the whole thyroid issue you're experiencing. I was just diagnosed prior to starting MF. I'd felt like crap for the past 6-8 months. After several blood tests, I was diagnosed not only with a thyroid problem, but my hormones were so out of whack, it's a wonder I didn't weigh 500 lbs. Knowledge is truly POWER! Starting Medifast was recommended by my endocrinologist, so here I am. Now you don't have to feel alone in this, cuz you have me to lean on!.

Mary - Have you already run out of food or feel you will before your next shipment? A really sweet lady emailed me when she saw my post on the RD board. She'd asked the same question and received this response:.

"I had written nutritional support an email about the same question.... they said to eat 3 lean and green meals... smaller portions of protein, like 3 oz each, with full veggies, and have 3 Medifast meals to stretch it out. also you can look on.

In your area, and or on craigslist in your area, and see if anyone has any they are selling or giving away.".

I checked both places in my area and no one had any Medifast meals for sale or free, but then I got the 4 boxes in the mail, so I didn't have to go off program, whew! I hope this will help you out if you don't get your food in time. So glad your DH has decided to join you on your journey. That should make staying OP easier..

Joyce - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow's weigh-in! I'm so thrilled and thankful you started this group!!!.

Kori - What grade do you teach? Here in Florida our kids have to take the FCAT (Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test). They always make a big deal out of it, because if you don't pass, you won't move on to the next grade (no matter what grades you've made throughout the year). It starts in 3rd grade with math and reading which is taken every year through 10th grade. 4th, 8th and 10th grades they add a writing test to the mix. 5th, 8th and 10th they add Science as well. In 10th grade they are tested in all 4 and must pass in order to graduate.

OK ladies, since receiving 2 boxes of vanilla shakes yesterday, I thought it was time to head back in the kitchen and create a new recipe. You all know how I love the Starbucks sf syrups, well I also love their Lite Frappuccinos! Here's my Medifast recipe for them:.

1 pk Medifast French vanilla shake.

6 oz. cold coffee.

3/4 cup crushed ice.

2 Tbsp. Starbucks sugar-free vanilla syrup (1 condiment).

Stir Medifast shake with cold coffee and sf syrup until lump-free. Add crushed ice and blend in Magic Bullet or any blender. You will not believe how AMAZING this tastes..

I had one for breakfast this morning and WOW it was soooo delicious and very filling - YUM! This was the first time in 4 weeks I've had coffee. I gave up coffee because I always used ff half & half, Splenda and sf syrup. I was not willing to use all of my condiments on 1 cup of coffee. This will definitely be one of my breakfast staples. You could probably substitute the dutch chocolate shake and make a chocolate Frappuccino..

Everyone have a Terrific Tuesday,.

Tas - Glad you found out what the problem is. Hopefully you will be feeling better with the meds..

Good evening Diamonds!.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful OP day. I got my latest Medifast shipment today - 2 cases of ready to drink chocolate shakes. My neighbors must think I am crazy. I rarely use my front door. When the UPS guy leaves, I am out there on the front porch doing a happy dance.

I resisted ordering the RTD shakes because of the cost. But I also hate using up so many condiments to make yummy shake cakes. Now the RTD shakes are up there in my top 5 favorites. It is nice to have another portable option!.

Joyce and Kori - I have been weighing on Wednesdays, too. (Fingers crossed for all of us) Wish I was a bit closer to Onederland....

Joy - Your one month successes are fabulous! And I am loving your recipes!.

Jules - I agree with Kori, Joy and Joyce. At least you know.

You have had those symptoms. A good friend of mine had to start Synthriod (?) recently and feels so much better. I finally got a diagnosis after almost two years of pain and three doctors. A PA ordered X-rays and discovered I have no cartilage in my knees. The rheumatologist I saw didn't even watch me walk or touch my legs....

I have three friends with birthdays this month. Only one of them is insisting that I "splurge" to help celebrate. My "no" muscle is pretty strong. It is so true that most people want to focus on the food instead of the good company to celebrate. I hope she can understand that me staying OP doesn't mean I am trying to put a damper on her special day....

I'll check back tomorrow-hump day and Cinco de Mayo!..

Welcome Celia - We love all Diamonds!!!.

Hey Linda! I just love trying new recipes. I can't wait to get my next shipment so I can make some more chocolate covered pretzels - yum! Looks like you've been very successful on your journey so far. Glad to have another Diamond to chat with!.

Kori - Bless your heart with those great kids. Congrats on your exercise! I exercised today for the first time. I have an urban re-bounder that I've been letting my dad use for the past year. I thought about asking him if he still uses it, because I'd love to have it back. I went to visit him and my mom yesterday and without asking, he said he couldn't use it anymore because he was having problems with his knees. He asked if I wanted him to store it for me or if I wanted it back.

So today was the first time I've exercised since starting MF. After 30 minutes on that thing, I was spent - LOL! I love using it in front of the TV so time passes before I realize it.

Joyce, Linda & Kori - I will keep my fingers crossed for all of you tomorrow - I don't think you'll need it, but I'll do it anyways!.

Talk to yall tomorrow,.

Hi Diamonds!.

Work has been overwhelming & I've been working long hours (incl. this weekend... whine, pout, snarl), so I haven't been able to get on line. I'm proud to report that I've stayed 100% OP in spite of my crazy hours & stress level. I now have an entire desk drawer devoted to Medifast - MagicBullet, giant mug for hot stuff, and at least a weeks worth of meals. Learned Saturday that going without a meal for 5 hours was not a wise choice.

I was a little disappointed, as this month I averaged 2lb/wk and this was such a hard week between the work craziness & my procedure. I know I was way under cals & carbs both TH & F, which resulted in wt gain the last time that happened And it's been almost 2 wks since last I saw TOM... which seems to be my new norm (darn it), so that could be part of it too. I get it logically & I know that my body is indeed shrinking... and I so wanted to be rewarded with a big weight loss to compensate for this sucky week! I've been reminding myself that my weight is not who I am, that it doesn't matter how slowly it comes off as long as it keeps coming off, that my body did change this week - I can feel it in my clothes, and that the alternative is not pretty.

Welcome back Linda!.

Joyce, Linda, & Kori - Can't wait to celebrate you Wednesday weighers tomorrow!!!.

Jules - I'm glad you had your hypothyroidism diagnosed, my sister felt like a new woman about 2 1/2 wks after she started her med. And I hear you on the TOM thing..

Mary - Hope your order has arrived!!!!.

Kori - What a great NSV!!! The only time I can get this body to run is when an emergency alarm or code is called in my unit. The adrenal surges & so do I. However, I'm near death when I arrive to the patients bedside.

To be able to run for 10 minutes straight is miraculous in my opinion!.

Joy - I make cappuccinos too. I use either dk chocolate shake, hot cocoa, or cappuccino as the base, w/ 1 c H2O. 6 to 8 ice cubes, 1 scoop instant coffee, vanilla & cinnamon all blended thick. Yummy!.

Stay on track everybody & keep on sparkling everybody!.

Happy Cinco di Mayo.

Hey guys,.

It's been a few days.....the scale finally moved today, one of the only days since Friday's weigh in....I went down 1.4 lbs, but that is only 1.8 since Friday...I am hoping the next 2 days it moves some so I have a decent week. I need to crank up the exercise...haven't done much since Sunday..

Finally put order in so will have a lot more options soon....my sister has been giving me lots of packs of the pretzels and puffs to try....they were great for a change from the bars on the go and will be most practical for when the kids get out of school and we are spending more time at the pool and lake and stuff. (can't believe they will be outta school in less than 3 weeks)! I have been out of oatmeal and soups for over a week now...and kinda miss them lol..

Tas- sorry about the diagnosis, but glad atleast there is an answer and there is something to help it. I hope the meds make you feel better quickly...

Major Whine Warning!!!.

No, I didn't make it to 199 or even 200 for that matter. Still stuck at 201. Weighing every day at least let me know that I won't being doing that again. I varied from 203 down to 200 and then back at 201 today. I'm very depressed. I had been averaging 10 lbs.

The first month and then down. But then I didn't make 90 by 9 months. Now 10 months will be next week 5/15 and I'm still not at 90. Maybe this is where I'm supposed to be. I've said since I started Medifast that I would just keep going until I quit losing and maybe this is it..

I feel so much better now than at 290 and if this is it for me then I'll just be happy here. Can't believe I am so depressed but I am. Sorry..

Joy, I didn't start the group so I can't take credit for it. In fact I know Karen and Kori were here before me. We were about the only 3 for a while and talked about just dissolving the Diamonds and then we started getting all you new folks!! I just try to keep it going because it feels like home to me..

Ok, girls, thanks for letting me have my pity party. I'll try to pick myself up and keep going. I'm not quitting, that's for sure..

Hope the other Wed. weighers have better luck than me!!!.

Take care...

Hey Joyce,.

It is just going to make all that much more of an accomplishment when you see that 199 on the scale....you will appreciate it that much more! What if you shook up when you did your lean and green or change up your exercise a little...just to give your body somehting different....the good thing is usually when you stick for a while, when the scale drops...it drops good for a couple days before leveling out again....I'm at the same place you are but with the 250 mark....I seem to be hovering just above it.....its driving me bonkers!..

Celia & Just5 - Welcome ladies! This is a wonderful group of supportive ladies. We try to be on here at least every day, checking in, sharing your NSV (Non-Scale Victories), challenges, and any support! Let us know how we can help you, share your experiences on this journey. Oh and Joy has been sharing the best recipes lately, so that's good to look forward to!.

Joy - Glad you got the exercise equipment back. Take it slow, listen to your body, it will tell you when you are doing enough. I know that if I am not breaking a sweat then I need to push it. I try and push a little bit more every time, even if it is 15 more seconds of one thing..

Sharon - You are a working machine! Glad you have all your Medifast supplies laid in for the long haul! Keep it up!.

Linda - Love that you did the happy dance on the porch! Mad me smile.

I had a RTD a few weeks ago when a bunch of girls from the Sexy Shamrocks met up in Atlantic City. It was pretty good but I haven't been able to justify the shipping charge to get them myself..

Sharon - I think that you will dip below the 200 when your body is ready to. I think that sometimes we have to work the program harder in order to have the program work for us. Make sense?.

Just don't give up, it will go down, I know it will..

Moglie - Glad you are seeing some loss even if it is small. I think it really gets down to the average of weight lost over time. When I am feeling like I should have lost more, I check out my weekly average. Good advice on shaking up the meals a bit to shake up your body! Love it!.

Tas - Good attitude! Move on, drink your water, and next week it will be better. You are more than the number on the scale during TOM! Plus we all know it changes so much during that time! Keep it up!.

AFM - Weighed in this morning and had a great weigh-in! -3.8 Pounds!!! YAY! It was a welcome change from the -.8 I had last week.

Have to get back to work now but I must say, doing the exercising has been great the past two days. I am sore but it is a good sore feeling cuz I know I am making my body work. Check back in later Diamonds!..

Hi Diamonds! Good morning. It's beautiful outside right now, even though it's going to be in the high 80s later today. Yikes. I can't wait to lose this weight so that I don't sweat as much in the heat..

Mary... how have you been? It's been a while since we've chatted. Is this your second box that came in? How quickly time goes by!!!.

Linda... hey, a pound is a pound!! Congrats!.

Denise... after a few days OP I was amazed at how much energy I had. I used to slug down 5 hour energy shots just to get through the day and now I no longer need them. It's a beautiful thing. Hang in there..

Klynne... awesome weight loss!!! What sort of exercise are you performing? I just bought a kettlebell and am going to use it for the first time today. Can't wait!.

Just5... yay that your hubby is joining us on MF! I wish mine would... he has about 80 lbs to lose and it would be nice to have a teammate like you. Have fun together!.

Joyce... I'm so sorry you haven't hit onederland just yet..

I can only imagine the frustration you're going through at this point after losing so much weight to not be able to shift the scales. Have you tried the all shake/drink day that's described on the main forum? It seems to budge people off their sluggish weight loss in a nice way. Either way, here are some hugs for you {{{}}}.

Hi to everyone else!.

AFM... well, after yesterday's depressing weigh in (2 lb gain thanks to TOM) I stepped on the scale again this morning... to a 2.2 lb loss!!! Well, actually 4.2 if you count the 2 lb gain. I'm so thrilled! I'm out of the 260s!!!! I haven't been here since November!!!!! OMG... I'm speechless...

Welcome SDCali and Denise!! Kori is totally right....the first few days do suck....but once you hit day 4 it seems to be the magical day that all of a sudden you feel great and the food isn't quite so bad. I have grown to love the oatmeal (with 1 packet splenda)...the eggs I just can't do....have one packet left and don't know if I am going to choke it down or just leave it for emergency...if my order doesn't come soon I may have to eat it lol. But it is amazing how great you feel once your into it and there is just no thinking....it makes it so easy. Good luck girls!..

Sdcali - definitely. I was tired for probably the first 10 days but then the energy picked up like crazy. It's amazing what loosing a few pounds will do for your energy level!.

Tas - WTG on the loss! See patience is all it takes. As long as you are doing the program right, the pounds will go away...eventually..

I have been doing about 30 min on the treadmill. I warm up for 3-4 min, Jog for 10-12 min, then do intervals the rest of the time. Run for 2, rest for 2 until I cool down. I just started using the machines at the gym to work my arms, lower back, abdominals, and stuff. Plus my other team has an exercise challenge going on right now. We do different strength type activities each week.

Moglie - I hear ya on the holding on to the things we don't like for the emergency stash. I bought the cranberry mango drink and I totally can't stand it but I decided to choke it down this week so it will be gone. The tropical punch I bought was ok but I would prefer something else so that will be the next thing on my list to get rid of..

Mary - WooHoo on receiving the food! I love when my packages come in the mail! Thanks for posting the acronym list. It is even helpful for some of us that have been here awhile to see it every once in a while!.

Denise - Welcome! I love this group of girls! Come here for support often and post as often as you are able to. Together, we can all lose the weight we want to!.

Linda - Take that pound and run girl! At least it is a loss! Next week will probably be bigger..

Joyce - I liked Tas' advice about the all shake day thing to break the plateau. I had read that thread and thought that might be an option. Just something to shake up your body, do something different. Shake up your L&G. I know some people swear by having steak to break plateaus since they don't eat it often. Find what works for you, we are pulling for ya!.

AFM - One more day of testing done today. YAY! Going to see if I can get some things cleaned up in my class now that the kids are gone. Then need to find something to wrap their mother's day gifts in. Then to the mall to buy a gift for my assistant that is having a baby. Tomorrow is her last day and she is going on maternity leave for the rest of the school year..

Check back in later...

Hi ya'll..

Ugh, what a frustrating week. I was hoping to hit 20 pounds lost, but no luck yet. Weigh in is Saturday, so we will see. Not sure what I am doing wrong. It would seem that consuming half the number of calories to maintain would certainly result in losing pounds. I have not been able to exercise regularly yet.

Not walking the dogs in this. Will have to get out there early mornings in June..

Sorry for the venting, but been a really bad couple of days. Stayed on program for the most part. Was able to say "no" to ice cream for teacher appreciation week and tres leches cake at a wedding shower yesterday, so I guess that could be considered a NSV..

I hope you all have a great evening and Friday. TGIF..

Thistime - You can do it! Stay strong girl. I think that putting time limits on yourself, like I will lose XX amount of pounds by XX date can be both motivation but can also let you down. I try to focus on the average amount lost each week not necessarily the number specifically each week...95 degrees out?? Where do you live? I live in so cal and we had nice upper 70's this week, low 80's and it has been beautiful. I hear ya on walking in the heat but maybe doggie needs early am walks or walking at dusk when it starts to cool a bit..

AFM - Gym done tonight. Sister came through. She knew I would follow through on my threat, if she missed two days of night workouts then I was going to ditch her and do them in the afternoon on my own. Made an appointment with a trainer to see if we can get a strength training routine down. A little scared about that since I have never really done that. But...I think it's the next step.

G'night ladies!..

Hi Diamonds!!! Another great day on MF. I just had my cappuccino drink as a shake and just adoring it. I add iced coffee, ice cubes, SF caramel syrup then blend. It's as good as a Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino. Yum!.

Thistime... you're doing great! Don't put expectations on yourself for weight loss. Just take it one day at a time and accept the losses you experience. I think that's the best way to go about it. I've heard that expectations are resentments in the works..

Klynne.... you're killing me with the exercise! How long have you been doing that? Good heavens!.

Sdcali... yes, it's normal to feel a little tired the first few days. Your body is getting used to the lower calories. Eventually, you'll get to feeling really good and energetic. At least that's what happened to me..

Moglie... I, too, have foods that are left for emergencies. They're just sitting there waiting for me to get the itch for them..

AFM... I have a ton of housework to do today. I'm just not feeling it. However, it all has to be done. Hubby asked me early this morning if I would clean up the kitchen and I agreed... well, I woke up and saw why! The sink is piled up with dishes and pots and pans!!! What the??? I'm a sucker...

Thank you for the encouragement. Feeling better today. Made some bad choices last night, so trying to do better today. I did some reading on other threads, it seems maybe the soy in the oatmeal I have every morning may be keeping my thyroid meds from working 100%. Had cold and frosty hot cocoa for breakfast. It will take some adjusting to drinking breakfast, but it is actually more convenient..

I weigh in tomorrow. I will be happy with what I get. Tomorrow is another day. I didn't gain this all overnight, can't expect to lose it overnight either...

Went four days and did the strength training too. I am starting to see more and more excess skin which is wigging me out. So I figure I need to start doing the machines and weights to start toning and building some muscles...

He still lost .1 lbI didn't. Back on the horse today..

The best news is that for the first time YEARS, my DH didn't snore after having alcohol. Just 5 pounds made that much difference...

Happy Almost Mother's Day Diamonds!.

I haven't been able to visit in a while, work remains intense, but am happy to have gotten to catch up this morning..

Welcome SDCali, Denise, and Mike! The first week is tough, but once you are firmly in ketosis the physical hunger & cravings go away and your energy returns. (Of course, the head hunger remains... which is the real work of this program in my opinion.) This is a great group of very supportive women (and now men.

). I appreciate the down to earth realistic perspective I get here, the great suggestions & recipes, humor, & compassionate cheer leading on the tough days..

Jules- Woo-hoo, you're in a new decade of weight loss!!! I loved the thought you shared yesterday. "Expectations are resentments in the works." Oh so true, be they about weight loss, my expectations of other's people behavior, or even the weather. Working on just accepting what is in any given moment and being happy with it. My body doesn't drop weight in 5 lb chunks even 100% OP , never has... why would I expect that to change and beat myself up? Thanks for perspective!.

Kori - Great loss this week!!! And no wonder with the bionic woman you're doing these days!!! You inspire me - thanks!.

Just5 - Could your husband talk to mine??? It would be so nice if we were on this journey together! (And I wouldn't have to smell his garlic fries.

Thistime - Soy products should be avoid for at least the 1st two meals of the day. My favorites are the Chai tea (So good mixed with iced tea!!!), cappuccino prepared just like Tas described above), and the anti-oxidant dk chocolate shake. This may even speed your wt loss.

Denise - You're almost through your first week, way to go!!!!.

Mary - I am so Jealous that you have a grand baby on the way!!! Hope all goes well & can't weight to hear what kind you get!.

To everyone whose post I may have missed - keep up the good work! We deserve success!!!.

AFM: Had my 1st off program meal at a work function. Got a little panicky & then recognized that I could choose what I ate even if the choice's were not 100% OP. I didn't overeat & left feeling good about my choices. So happy to have a day off! Time to go play with my adult daughter. Have a wonderful Mother's Day friends! (And Mike, make sure the women in your life have a great one.

So much going on and new people, too! This has been a wild weekend, I have been to 3 birthday lunches/dinners since Thursday. Yesterday I split my L&G for the first time and it worked pretty well. And Mother's Day tomorrow...Welcome Mike! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. I lost my mom almost 2 years ago. I will probably go to the cemetery and plant some purple flowers on Sunday..

Sharon - Congrats on making good choices at your work function. Hope you have a great time with your daughter!.

Denise - Hope you are having a stress free OP first weekend. Isn't it fun to order food? I try to get a box of something I haven't tried yet with each monthly order..

Mary - We will all be wanting to know how your daughter's graduation went this weekend!.

Could I add to your acronym list?.

YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary (What works for me might not work the same for you).

EVOO = Extra Virgin Olive Oil (I don't watch Rachel Ray, had NO idea.

AFM = As for me (Thanks Kori! You use this and deciphered it a few months ago).

Just5 - It is so cool that your DH is taking this journey too! My ex snored like a freight train, so I understand how WONDERFUL it is to have a snore-free night....

Kori - you are inspiring me to try my recumbent bike again. No gym for me until after I get new knees..

I am also looking for my hand weights. Thanks for reminding us that strength training.

Toning is important!.

Thistime - You had TWO great NSVs this week! Hope the scale reflects your good decisions..

Jules - WOW! You are certainly on your way! And you will see the 250s soon. It seems like I am spending a ton of time washing my Medifast dishes every day. LOL!.

Welcome Dreamsmall! Congratulations on having a good 2 days OP! It will get easier and you will see the pounds come of if you stick to it..

Linda - Love that you are a nightowl, insomniac! As far as the exercise, take it easy, do what you can, listen to your body. You know what you can handle and you will know when to push yourself too..

Hey Mary!.

AFM - After searching all over yesterday to find my bike at my local Wal-Mart (after calling 5 other ones), they didn't have it. I called another one when I got home and they said they had it and were holding it. So I dragged my Dad out with me to the store (about 30 miles away) just to find out when we got there that it was the wrong bike! They didn't have my bike.

I was so angry. But...then I went and got a Mother's Day pedicure that my sister paid for as my Mother's Day gift. So the day wasn't a total loss. Ok, off to church now. See you ladies and Mike later!..

Happy Mother's Day!!!.

This has been a weekend of NSVs. I had planned to go to the movies with my daughter yesterday. She arrived, took one look at me, and said "You're looking like a gangster with your baggy drawers, we're going shopping." To start, let me say that I carry my weight in an "interesting" arrangement. I started out about size 22 shoulders to waist, and 34 from the hip down. Pear to the extrem. I have not worn pants with an actual waistband in 30+ years.

They were too big.

I am now the proud owner of size 26 jeans and the first belt I've ever owned. (A little closer to proportionate, but the belt I got was a size 20.) I went down 3 bra sizes (where the 1st 20 pounds I lost came from) and bought my first piece of clothing that wasn't from a large women's specialty story in probably 25 yrs. My DD found a size 22 dress (full skirt) she wanted me to try on and by golly, not only did it fit - it looked good! We met my DH & DS for dinner. I was wearing the new dress, standing with my back to the door. Both my DH & DS walked right by, didn't recognize me! It's amazing what clothes that actually fit can do for a girl! On the 2nd Sunday of every month, I operate the powerpoint from the media booth at church. Every month, I lug a chair up the stairs to the booth, because the stool that's there has arms that have are too narrow for my hips.

Got up there, eyeballed the stool & thought... hmmm, I wonder if I'm getting close? And I fit! After service my Reverend said I "looked different somehow, younger." I really needed these NSVs this week. TOMs on it's way again, I am retaining lots of fluid, & am having a hard time truly internalizing that my success is not about what the scale says. This weekend gave me concrete proof that I am on the right track. I know I've rambled on a bit, but I knew you would all understand what a big deal it is to be able to sit in a chair that wasn't an option not a few weeks ago!.

Welcome Dreamsmall & Amber ~ You will love this program and this group! The next couple of days were the most trying for me, but it gets so much easier from the second week on. What a great gift to give yourself, you deserve it!.

Dge - I retain water when ever I consume more then 2 soy meals a day - esp. bars or puffs/pretzels. (Those items are also the ones that I get really thirsty after eating, haven't checked to see if they're higher in sodium.) I know that I am sensitive to soy & I don't digest it very well - which is why I assume I retain extra fluid when I eat it. But darn it, all the stuff that you can actually chew has soy in it - so I do eat it, but try to keep it to no more then 2 portions daily. 3 qts of H2O should be plenty. If the swelling persists, you should probably see your doc..

Linda - You're right, the "what I wish I'd known" link has an incredible amount of information and some good recipes too. Sure wish I'd read it before I mixed my first hot cocoa in my shaker.

Joyce & Mary - Hope you are both having a terrific OP day!.

Time to go pick my mom up for dinner. We're going to a local caf that has great grilled salmon salads, as a bonus, her grandson (my DS) will be singing show tunes with a couple of his choir buddies. Should be fun! Hope you all are appreciating better weather then we're getting in "sunny" CA - another cold, windy, stormy day..

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!.

Kori - Thanks for the reminder to call my sister, wish she lived close enough that we could get our toes done together. We live on opposite ends of the country and I miss her so much. Good luck finding your bike!!!..

Hi all,.

I am so glad for all the positive choices we are learning to make. My DH and I were invited to a luncheon today where they were serving Italian food. I asked last Sunday if it would be ok for me to bring my own. I grilled 4oz chicken breast and layered it with seasoned tomato sauce and some mozzarella cheese. Then added some salad on the side. I was a little high on the fat with the cheese, but avoided the huge stack of garlic bread and the cookies and ice cream for dessert.

The caramel crunch was dessert enough..

I just found out that a friend's husband who was diagnosed with esophageal cancer at Spring Break passed away this morning. I was shocked as he had been responding well to treatment. My friend had put out a message a few weeks ago about how serious heartburn is and can be. So if any of you are sufferers of frequent heartburn, you may want to do some research and check with your doctor. The heartburn can affect the lining in the esophagus which can allow cancer to grow. This particular type was very aggressive.

Saying that anyone with heartburn will get this, but just be careful and cognizant of how severe it could be. I had their son in my third grade classroom several years ago. It is going to be a difficult week..

On a positive note, I am down a total of 19 pounds as of this morning. That is an average of 3 pounds per week. Maybe with changing the soy based meals to later in the day, away from the Synthroid time, I can kick start this fat burning again. I feel I have stagnated..

I hope you all have a great week! I hope all you mothers had a wonderful day...

Thistime - Way to plan and think ahead! Good job! Sorry to hear about your friends husband. ::Hugs:: WTG on the 3 lbs per week!.

AFM - I found my bike!!! WOOHOOOO!!!! It has a small dent in the front fender but it is hidden by the frame most of the time so they gave me 10% off. I already took it around our long block (1/2 a mile) this afternoon but know I will be riding it a lot. I want to start biking to and from work (5 miles each way) by summer school..

Hi there Diamonds..

Sharon that's wonderful on the NSV's!!! Sometimes those mean the most..

Like I'm not afraid that I may have to purchase 2 plane tickets for just me! I think I will fit just fine now. So.DH and I are planning to visit my brother and his family in Germany next year. I'm so excited and love planning almost as much as doing so this should be a fun year for me..

I read on another thread about someone getting a picture taken with another person and seeing what she really looked like. I realized I haven't had my pic taken with anyone else since Christmas (didn't like that one too much!) so DD took DH and my picture together yesterday. I honestly could not believe that I looked like that! It's not the way I see myself in the mirror. I see about twice as much in the mirror..

So I guess that was a nice NSV!.

I'm trying real hard to be my old positive self again but I'll admit it's a little hard. I'm staying stictly OP though. So we'll see..

Y'all have a good one!..

Purple... don't worry about your "cold"... everyone gets to that point and some of us give in. You're back on the wagon today and you'll do great. You've been persevering so far! Good luck with the busy weekend! Yikes!.

Jenn... WELCOME! And congrats on the weight loss so far. Slow but steady wins the race..

Joyce... glad you took that picture. It really does tell a thousand words that our mirrors cannot. Good for you!.

Klynne... yay for you for finding your bike!!! I enjoy a good mountain bike ride here and there... now that summer is upon us I will have to join you for a good old ride on the bike..

Thistime... 3 lbs a week is fantastic! I don't know how much more you could possibly lose! LOL.

Chewy... what a great NSV you experienced!!! Congratulations! Enjoy your new clothes!.

Amber... good to see you! WELCOME!.

Dge... I haven't retained any water, but I would recommend reading what others have posted and possibly see your doctor if it continues. That really doesn't sound normal..

AFM... I have two job interviews this week... the one tomorrow is a practice interview because it's the furthest away and the lowest paying job. The one on Thursday I would snatch up in a heartbeat if they offer it to me, depending on the pay. The base pay is a little lower than I'm comfortable with and the drive isn't all that great. However, I'm willing to work with top Neurologists in their field just for the opportunity.

For the first time I really feel bad about leaving a job. Wish me luck this week!..

Hey Sparkly Diamonds!.

Seems like I've been gone from this board for too long! My poor son had conjunctivitis last week and had to stay home from school a couple of days. Well that threw everything else out of whack, but I'm back now!.

Welcome to all the newbies. Hey Mike - we're glad to have a man in our midst! We are all here to help, so don't hesitate to ask any questions..

Congrats to all my friends with all of their NSV's and weight losses - you ROCK!.

Today was my week #5 weigh-in day and I had my lowest weight loss to date which was -2 lbs. I thought this might happen since I lost -6 lbs. last week, but I've stayed 100% OP, so I wasn't worried at all.

I was really worried I was going to run out of food because as of Friday I was down to only vanilla milk shakes and brownies. All weekend I was making my Medifast Frappuccinos and eating brownies. Well I made it and when the UPS guy rang my doorbell today, I couldn't have been happier. What did I do ... I ripped open that box and grabbed a bag of parm cheese puffs and savored every crunchy one.

I am soooo into the crunchy - salty stuff way more than the sweets, but I do try to balance them..

I hope everyone had a very Happy Mother's Day yesterday. I sure did! My husband cooked boneless, skinless chicken breasts and thighs on the grill and we carried them to my parents' home. My dad made slaw and bought bread, my brother made bbq beans and my son made brownies (with a little guidance from me). It was wonderful for my mother, sister-in-law and myself to just relax and let the men serve us! My son told me he wanted to make brownies so I could bring my Medifast brownie with me and feel like everyone else. He's just too sweet. I brought my own salad to eat with my chicken breast so I could stay OP.

I have a funny story to tell ... For those of you who don't know me yet, I love trying new recipes with the Medifast food. I like making shake cakes and last Thursday I was out of chocolate shakes and had 1 hot cocoa left. I thought, well, it's chocolate, so it should work - right? Uh, no - WRONG! I wish I had taken a picture of it. When using the plastic container I like to make my shake cakes in, the batter always rises almost to the top and then recedes once the cake is finished. After about 30 seconds in the microwave, I glanced in the window and the thing was bubbling up and almost going over the edges.

I panicked and opened the door - YIKES - it completely fell. I hurried and pushed start again, 15 seconds later - bubble, bubble - Oh NO! I opened the door again. I had to finish cooking it because I was so low on Medifast food packets that I couldn't waste even one. When it finished and I opened the door for the last time, it completely went flat. My usual 2" high cake was now a mere 1/2" fudge-looking mess. Did I throw it away? Nope - I ate it and it really wasn't too bad - at least that's what I kept telling myself - LOL!.

Started: 4/5/10.

WEEKS (1 - 4): -7, -4, -3, -6 (-20 lbs.)(-9.2% body fat)(-8").

WEEK 5: -2 lbs. (-0.7% body fat)..

Hello all you sparkling Diamonds, hope this Monday finds everyone doing well. I had a great Mother's day, and I hope all of you did as well. We celebrated my grandson's 2nd birthday on Saturday. I planned to stay OP for the entire day, and "celebrate" his day, by eating a small piece of cake, (which I did) but after the party, but DS, is now ENGAGED!!! (I knew this was going to happen, we just didn't know when), so we had to celebrate, I had a couple of alcoholic beverages for the celebration. I am so excited for my son..

Then mother's day, stayed OP all day, had a great dinner with the family..

NOW HARD CORE AGAIN TODAY!!!!! I did not weigh this morning, (yes, call me a chicken), but I stayed OP 100%, don't let the minor setbacks become major, only 1 day, just as we say..... 1 day, 1 meal at a time!!!!! Back in the saddle, don't let one day become, "Oh I will start tomorrow, what is one more going to hurt!!!" Well obviously it has hurt me a lot, at least 100 lbs. worth.... so..... with this being said... one day, one meal, one pound....

I am just now beginning to feel good, I have more energy, better outlook etc..... my 2nd order is on the way..

I will post my weight in the am.....

Everyone have a great day..

Pray for us in Oklahoma, the tornados killed 5 people tonight, they were all over the state. Not too close to us, but close enough. Lots of destruction, no electricity, etc..

Have a great evening.

Hello All You Wonderful Diamonds!.

Annisa- You and your family are in my thoughts, as is the entire state. By the way... you're not chicken.

You got right back on program after making a couple of off-program choices, and chose not to weigh today, so as to not get discouraged. In my book, that's big progress!.

Joy - So glad you're food arrived! Luckily, I placed my order early this time - ordered last Monday & they still haven't shipped! Called to ask what was up, somehow my order had drifted into the ozone layer. So they are sending it tomorrow. Seems customer service is not at it's best these last few weeks. Too funny re the cocoa dump cake I tried replacing a shake in a muffin recipe with cocoa & that didn't work either. Then it occurred to me that the shakes are mainly soy based (soy flour can actually be used in baking) & the cocoa is milk based. Share your dump cake recipe please.

Denise - Yippee, your first week is DONE!!! Good job! I'm betting you will be doing the happy dance tomorrow after you weigh..

Tas - are these NP positions? How cool that you have 2 possibilities!!! The neuro office sounds like a very exciting & challenging opportunity ( and I am so glad that there are great practitioners such as yourself who like neuro.

Geri - How cool that you get to go to Chicago this weekend! I spent my 50th birthday in the windy city and loved it! There is so much to see & do. I had no problem getting my exercise there... You'll have to tell us all about your conference..

Jenn - Welcome aboard! You are doing great. I too am a "slower" loser compared to many. But that's just how my body works. So I'm focusing on celebrating my NSV's & the fact that I have been OP consistently for 8 wks. What's that saying about slow & steady.....

Joyce - I actually have purchased two seats on a really long plane ride in economy... I couldn't bear the thought of squishing someone for a 14 hour flight. So happy I won't be having that experience again! I too love to travel & agree that half the fun is planning the trip- especially now that we have the internet! I love your idea about taking your picture with another person. Losing the weight is only a part of this journey... changing how I think about myself is the more challenging part for me. The photo is a great tool for helping to shift self-concept.

Try mixing your exercise up some, focusing on strengthening versus aerobic type exercise (which increases your resting metabolic rate). My doctor told me that when women hit plateaus, gives them resistance bands to gently start building more muscle mass (since our hormones predispose us to hyper-efficient metabolisms that get used to lower & lower calorie intake -you know, all that survival of the species stuff). She gave me band when I saw her last & I just started doing 10 minutes a day. Hoping to spark my own weight loss..

AFM: Very excited about going to see James Taylor & Carol King in concert tomorrow evening. I've loved them both forever - their's were the 1st 2 albums I ever bought in fact. My DH did a restaurant search around the area where the concert is and found a very nice restaurant with a low carb menu. No wonder I love that man!!! Weigh in the morning.....

Have a terrific OP Tuesday!.

Good Morning Diamonds!.

Welcome Amber!.

Sharon-Wow girl! What a weekend! Love the dress, stool and belt NSVs. Thank your daughter for really seeing you. It's great that she cares and not just noticed but really sees the changes in you..

Kori- Good Luck finding that bike. Although it sounds like you got a good deal out of the trip. I know you're really looking for ward to the bike..

Hey Joyce- I've got you on my prayer list for perseverance. I hope this week end was wonderful for you..

Joy- I hadn't seen your post for awhile and I was missing your humor and latest kitchen experiments. Hope all is well..

AFM-This is the week before my daughter graduates and there is something going on every night. So I've got my car loaded with Medifast meals ad I'm planning on staying OP all the way..

To all the Diamonds have a great OP week if I don't get a chance to post!.

Chewy... yes, these interviews are for NP positions. I definitely like Neuro... it's what I did as a RN and hope to continue on that path as a NP..

Today is my practice interview. I thought it would be far from the office where I work so I drove into town today (normally, I take the express bus) only to find out that the hospital is only 12 minutes away by car. I'll bet I could have taken a bus there! Oh well. Live and learn..

Surprise, surprise, the endowed chair of my department at work happens to have worked at the place where my second interview is at and after talking with me he sent off an email letter of recommendation to some of the MDs over there! Small world. He thinks the job will be a good fit for me... little does he know it's going to take me away from this current job. Heh..

Sorry for blabbing on about the job interviews... I'm so nervous about getting a new job that it's all I can think about!..

Morning Diamonds, well my first day went really well. Then the second day I started feeling really sick, was running a fever, and had a terrible sore throat. Went to the doctor as my neck was really swollen, and I have the Mumps! What the heck? I spent 4 days in bed, and have been told my doctor to wait to start the program until after I finish my antibiotics. So, will be starting on Friday, May 14. So, have hit a bump, but dusting myself off and trying again...

I am exhausted. I tie dyed t-shirts with my third graders today. Every year it wears me out, but seeing them all in "uniform" shirts for field day makes it all worth it..

I have stayed OP the last 3 days, including Mother's day. I have rearranged the soy meals away from my synthroid meds and it seems to have helped get me losing again. I am also trying to change things up for lunch. Had oatmeal today. Does anyone know if I can cook the oatmeal ahead of time, then refrigerate it and warm it up at lunch? Takes too long and too hard to clean up the mug at school with no real kitchen sink. Just curious..

I also remember reading that I can use regular baking powder rather than aluminum free in the microwave? I really want to try the oatmeal cake. I would welcome any easy microwave recipes for the oatmeal and shakes...

Sdcali - Mumps? That's insane! I hope you have a quick recovery. Sounds like you have a good doc that recognized the symptoms right away..

Nikki - I just finished week one and it is great! The best thing anyone told me was to make sure you carry some of the meals with you just in case you get stuck somewhere. It has saved me a couple of times..

Joyce - I will cross my fingers for you with your weigh in tomorrow. Onederland is such a huge milestone!.

Well, I think I will go grill a turkey burger for dinner and then get some studying done. Have a great evening!.

Hi Diamonds! I'm new around here and just wanted to tell you I get a lot of inspiration from reading this board. And I'm happy to report I stayed OP on Mother's Day as well as my birthday which was yesterday. Then had my first weigh-in day today and lost 9 lbs! Woohoo!! As if my holiday weekend didn't require enough willpower, I got to work and found a Birthday card and a HUGE bag of assorted candies tied with a pretty curly ribbon!.

Oh no! It was from a dear friend that I had not yet told about Medifast. She meant well and I loved the thought, but quickly passed it on to a co-worker without ever opening the bag..

Whew! I sure hope my determination level stays this high if the temptations keep coming so close together!..

Woohoo!!! Enough said? Finally!!!!.

Just barely but finally199.8woohoo!!! After 3 long weeks I finally lost again and got below 200. Does it feel as.

As I thought it would? Even better! I can't believe how great I feel today. It's like a load has literally been lifted. I know! A load of over 90 pounds now! But the mental load I had put on myself was almost overwhelming. I will try very hard not to do that again..

I'm back to my positive, sensible, once a week weighing self now. Thank goodness!!.

Karen, great to see you!! Thanks for thinking of me. And look at you! You caught me with your 90 lb. loss, girl. That's great! Too bad we aren't closer. We could celebrate with a Medifast shake!!!.

Dream, welcome and congrats on 9 lbs. That's a great start..

Everyone, thank you so much for putting up with me these last few looonnnggg weeks! Onward and downward we go!!!..

Karen - Good to see you girl! Hope you are doing well and trucking along, you have had some good losses and have made amazing progress!.

AFM - Weigh in this morning was awesome to me! I think the major workout has really got my body in gear. I am officially halfway to goal!!!!.

Went for a 3 mile bike ride last night with my sisters. Totally a lot of fun. Had a hard time getting up some of the hills but walked up them instead when it was too hard. I can't wait til I can breeze up and down the hills. So much fun though with my sisters. I think we laughed off at least 2 pounds then.

Back to work for me now. Check in later Diamonds!..

Dreamsmall & Denise - You've had GREAT first weeks! Keep up the good work!.

Nikki - how exciting that you're starting tomorrow! Good luck!.

Hey Kori - Riding bikes sounds like fun! I've been walking with a friend on weekday mornings. What a difference it makes exercising with someone else!.

I think, after several months of struggling, that I'm finally back 100% OP and FINALLY back in ketosis. The last 3 days have been rough. DH and I have a sort of bet going. I get to save a certain amount of money each week that I'm 100% OP. It will last for 10 weeks and is enough money that I WILL stay OP. The bet is off the first time I eat something off plan, but I get to keep whatever I've earned.

We've decided to move within a year or so, and I'll get to spend the cash on whatever I want in the house. Finally, some motivation! LOL I guess I'm shallow, but hey, whatever works, right?.

Hope everyone is having a great OP day!..

Update on the scales.....I did go up a couple of pounds,.

But am happy to report....(drumroll) I have lost those pounds, plus 3,.

So officially 18lbs since starting Medifast......

What a great feeling. I feel so much better, it makes me not want to go off program again. I have set small goals for myself, the first was Nate's birthday, now it is Memorial day.....

Congratulations to all you "losers this week" What great accomplishments. Looking forward to my next shipment Friday, I can't believe I have been at this for almost 3 1/2 weeks..

We are meeting with my son, his fiancee, and her parents this weekend. I think so set a wedding date. Even more reason to lose this excessive baggage :0.

Ready to continue downward!!!..

Needstobethin - WOOHOO!! WTG on losing!Keep those small goals in mind, they help the big goals seem less scary!.

AFM - Finished work, now need L&G, then off to school, have a test in class tonight!..

Hello to Diamonds in the Rough..

What a lively group you are. I hope it is OK to jump in. I am a bit computer challenged and haven't figured this all out yet. It will take me awhile, but I will catch on..

I joined Medifast in Jan 2010, but did not follow the program dumb me. So I recommitted to doing it this last week. Maybe if I get on and participate with posting and getting to know some people it will help me stay focused. All of the posts I read on Diamonds are great, your success stories are inspirational and I know they will help me stay on track..

Hope to catch you all here again..
