Got a question, hope someone can answer... Ladies: How many of you ever tried "Cookery Medifast recipes" telecasted by various Indian TV Channe Thanks for any comment. My 2nd question... I had my.

Surgery.

July 26 and I have lost 47 pounds so far. I can and have went weeks without losing so last month I got a gym membership and work out 3 to 5 days for 2 hours or more. I workout hard. I am not sure why I am not losing more than 1 pound a week and sometimes I lose 3 or 4 and than gain it back on the days I don't work out but than lose it again with an extra 1 or 2 pounds when I work out....Not sure if this is making sense but I really want to lose atleast 4 pounds a week...I am down from a 22 to a 16 and I feel great and look great because I am 5'9 so I carry my weight well. Just wanna be smaller, sooner. I guess I need to be patient, but I am.

Working out.

So hard trying to help with the weight loss but it seems like it is at a standstill...

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an good answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could help you..

Hmmm. Lets see... July 26 to today = 113 days. Just over 16 weeks..

Total weight lost to date: 47 pounds... so... that comes out to an average of around 3 pounds per week (2.9375 to be precise). And if you maintained that same average for say, 1 year, your total weight lost would be.... 152 pounds..

That seems to me like an extraordinary weight loss over a 1 year period; I guess I'm not sure why you disagree - I would say you are doing very well!..

Jerry, now that you put it that way, I guess I need to be thankful for what I have lost and keep doing what i'm doing. sometimes we can be so ungrateful or atleast I can be. you really put things into prospective. I have noticed inches diminishing where it was loose fat so I should be extremely happy about that as well. Pleb36, I do atleast 80 minutes or cardio (treadmill, eliptical, bike) and the rest weight machines for arms and legs. Not to worried about my tummy area because as the weight diminishes so does that area.

I need to do more.

Stretching.

And in the summer I plan on doing.

Aerobics.

Classes when I have more time on my schedule. I work, go to.

School.

, and have 7 children so I am good to get in those 2.5 hr workouts 3 to 5 days a week, without the hubby complaining...

You are doing great! I thought I was losing slow...1-2 lbs a week, but my doctor was thrilled to hear it. He would rather me lose it slowly than for it to drop off quickly. We all want to be thin fast lol..

Love Jerry's answer :).

I'll just add this... the day after you reach your goal weight guess what... no finish-line... it's just more of the same.... so concentrate on.

Healthy eating.

Choices,.

Exercise.

, water, vitamins, head stuff. The only things we ever have control of in this journey..

Best wishes to you!!..

Thanks, I really need to focus on the head stuff and stop worrying and trying to rush things...it will happen...i finally can eat without gagging everything up so I should be happy...i guess now that I am feeling somewhat normal, I think I am not going to lose anymore, but it is all a head thing....i already know by summer I will be able to fit n my bikini so I shouldn't even be worrying since it is time to cover up anyway :)..

And when is the last time you lost 47# in 4 months? You seem to be right on track. My average loss is around 10# a month, and it's slowed considerably in the last few months (I'm a year out next week)..

Plus you're exercising and muscle weighs more than fat, so you're replacing the fat with muscle. Don't panic. It'll come off..

Krimicri, I was thinking that maybe my muscle gain was making my weight loss off track...i know I can feel the muscle in my arms and legs now. plus I am a diabetic n have high blood pressure....im just going to keep doing what I am doing n try n stay focused on the big picture....i guess I was kind of comparing my weight loss to a friend of mine, who is a male, and who had the sleeve...at three months he said he lost 85 pounds and he had his.

Surgery.

Two weeks before I did......

I know it's tough, but try not to compare yourself to others. Everyone loses at a different pace, and there are other factors involved.. if he's much heavier than you were when you started he'll lose faster because he has more weight to lose, etc. And I think guys lose quicker anyway or something.. in any event, just focus on YOU and don't worry about all that other junk. :D.

Mozay:.

I can understand where you are coming from. In my first month I lost 34lbs. Then I saw others post how they lost 50lbs+ and was a little discouraged..

I stopped comparing myself to others because we all started at different weights, there are so many variances with the bariatric plans, we all started with different co-morbidities among other factors that can affect our weight..

Not only that but I have gained muscle and my clothes are huge. At times when we are at a hold we are losing inches and Id rather take that than nothing at all..

As long as you are following plan and still losing that is the best you can do. This is not a race but a lifestyle change. Keep in perspective the reasons why you did this..

Best Wishes...

Hi! I understand what you are going through. I'm 10 months out andI've only loss 91 lbs. I go through weeks were I don't lose any weight at all, or I'll lose and then gain it back the next week. Then lose it again the following week. Don't get me wrong I'm happy with my progress it's just been slow going. I've gone from a size 30-32 down to a size 14 which I'm happy about but I just want to lose a lot more.

Weight training.

4 days a week so I'm hopping that will help...

WOW at 22 to a 14 in this short time frame is AMAZING! I like to focus more on my size and how I feel rather than the scale. Don't let that darn scale have too much power over you! How is your Medifast diet - are you getting enough to eat (protien.

Ect.

) you may be in starvation mode where your body will hold on to fat and stuff. I went thru this and started eating more and the weight came off a little faster. If your nutritionist doesn't monitor your Medifast food journal give her/him a 10 day honest Medifast food journal and see what they say. You are doing wonderful!!..

You are doing GREAT!!!.

Someone recently posted an article about this same issue (I think it may have been Krista???). You should look back and find it. It was great. It talked about how the scale lies. Everyone's, but especially women's, weight can fluctuate so much, even in the same day..

Also, as Krista said in this thread, muscle weighs more than fat. It's like twice as dense. So, if you lost 1 pound of fat and gained 1 pound of muscle you would weigh the same but you would be smaller! And, we want to gain muscle because muscle burns more calories at rest so the more muscle we have the faster our metabolism..

Try measuring yourself instead of weighing. You will most likely notice a loss of inches even if the scale hasn't moved..

Give yourself and your body a break. You are almost 50 pounds lighter than you were less than 4 months ago!!! That's almost half way to 100! That's awesome. Pat yourself on the back and keep up the good work. :-)).
