First question I got is Low carb/diabetic Medifast recipes that have less than 5 ingredients? Desperate Need here!!? Hoping for any response. My 2nd question... Hi everyone.

I'm glad I found this sight as I am in need of some support. Today is a rough day. I am 8 days post op and I have felt constant nausea for two days and.

Gravol.

Isn't working..

I also have this horrible sour milk taste in my mouth since.

Surgery.

That brushing, flossing and mouthwash do not help. I chew gum but only for a few minutes as it makes me feel nauseous..

I was not given the option of protein shakes (I guess they dont do that at the clinic I went to in Ontario Canada) so I have been eating soup broth and sugar free juice and popsicles.... this cant be good for my system??? No protein at all!.

I just feel like a big bag of crap... Im starving but feel to sick to eat... sorry for rambling just need to rant lol.

Nat..

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could assist you..

I dealt with the awful taste as well. I upped my water intake and eventually it went away. I was able to go straight to protein shakes so I'm not much help there. Just try and relax and know that this too shall pass. It's all going to be better in a couple weeks. I know that seems far away but in two months you won't remember how awful you felt at this moment! ((HUGS))))...

Don't chew gum. If you swallow it it can easily block your new little pouch. Try special k protien water. 5 grams of protien 0 sugar and it's just like crystal lite. Good luck feel better!..

Natalie,.

I know about now you are wondering what gives, right? I think JJ hit all the points I was going to say...but wanted to add that a call to the office, surgeon, or hospital is not a bad idea if you have concerns at any time..

You seemingly do need some protein...even though none of us can take in much those first few weeks. Might ask them about that, if you do call...

Hang in there.. it will get better. I too had the awful taste in my mouth...Jello/clear soups were my friend for the first week and then I got to have pudding (sugar free) and a few other things. Juice has a lot of hidden/natural sugars so be very careful with them. I did a lot of crystal light but then I couldn't do them after awhile for they just did not go well with me. I drink a lot of water with lemon or cucumber in them now (I am 36 weeks out).

I.

Hope.

Things get better for you!!! I will be thinking of you...

Hang in there! The first few weeks is not fun at all. REmember, you just underwent major.

Surgery.

You need to give your body time to heal. Rest, walk, and drink!..

I haven't had mine yet, but my program uses juice also, but it says to dilute it half and half with water. perhaps that will help...

Yes, along with that weird taste, I had a weird smell I couldn't get out of my nostrils! No one else could smell it but it overwhelmed me for a few weeks. Even now, 7 1/2 months out, I get a whiff of it evert now and then and I've never been able to figure out what it was. I still sometimes have a funny taste in my mouth, lips etc. but I think it is just me. I agree, don't chew gum, God forbid if you accidentally swallowed it, may cause trouble. It gets better, like everyone said - just hang in there!..

Check with your dr. as soon as possible. Have you had your one week check up yet? You should be able to get on protein drinks soon. My program had me on them the first week using water to mix the protein in. If you didn't get lists of foods for the phases of the process, there are multiple web sites with great info...

Thank You everyone for your comments and support. It really helps just to be able to talk with people who have gone through and come out on the other side..

Today I went to emerg because one of my incisions ripped open. I also got a bag of fluids through IV because I was getting dehydrated. Thankfully the doctor gave me a prescription for an anti nausea medication. I am feeling better already. I just want to get through the month because I hear from many people that the first month is the worst and then it starts to get better..

So thank you again to everyone who responded and I'm sure you will here from me again lol.
