Question I have... Medifast Diet/dieting in general question? Looking forward for any answer. Another quick question... I didn't see a new one for this week - enlighten me someone if there is and I am missing it..

I had a -1.2 for this week. Slow and steady! I tried on all my capris and shorts and I am thrilled everything is too big..

Hope everyone is having a good week...

We've dwindled down to a small group over here! I joined a challenge, 100 days 100 percent. I hope to be at goal by then. I think it's mid July..

I'm loving this sunny weather here!! Hope you all are having a great Thursday!..

Have stayed OP. Tomorrow is weigh in and I hope the darn scale moves!! Will babysit 2yr old granddaughter tomorrow and made trip to the store to buy just enough food for her meals and snacks. For myself, bought L&G and plan to stay OP tomorrow, unlike 2 wks ago when grandson stayed for overnight. Have been practicing saying, "That's not for me," when I spot food that someone else is eating, spy food in the cafeteria or grocery store. Yep, there it is, and it's not for me. Practicing commitment.

Sally: you go girl! I love your commitment strategy!.

I had to get up at 4:00 this morning to make sure my youngest was dropped off for his field trip before 5:00. I went back to sleep for an hour before getting up to take the oldest. I'm so groggy. I keep telling myself, must wake up, must workout..

Happy Friday everyone!!..

Yay, ladies! It's good to see you all. Yesterday was my bday, a major one (50!). My sweetie sent me flowers and took me out to dinner. I was keeping a low profile at work and my coworkers didn't know it was my birthday. When a florist arrived with red roses, they called me and said I had a special delivery that needed to be signed for. Please come to the front desk.

Several people were standing around the customer entrance waiting for me. It was pretty funny! After dinner, I went to a belly dance class and shimmied and figure 8'd my hips until I am very sore today. It was all good.

I'm really hungry this week. I hope that means I'll get an excellent loss at the scale next week. Happy Friday!..

I was in sunny Florida. I can't complain about the weather or the fact that I got to excercise every day. It was a very good and good for me vacation. (I just realized I still didn't change my ticker. ) Weight on the scale today yes, I weigh daily.. ready the whips! weight was 243.5 and I was super psyched.

Happy to "see" all of you again! Keep it up, Meltastics!!..

Happy Friday!!!!!.

Welcome back LadyCroft!.

Happy Birthday Barb!.

The scale finally moved for me again (after an almost 2 week stall) and has even went down further since I last updated my ticker. I believe adding the shakes back in a couple times a day has made a big difference for me. Either that, or it's because I stopped dipping into the peanut butter jar!.

Have a great weekend and congrats to you all on your continued success...

Congratulations on your weight loss Kelly. I feel I am in a little bit of a stall. Tomorrow is my weigh in day, so we'll see, but maybe I need to use more shakes..

Have a good weekend everyone...

I was just typing my post and "poof," it disappeared. Wonder what key I hit and where my entry went? Anyway, I was writing that I was due to weigh in this morning but when it came time to do it, I didn't, and thought about how discouraged I'd feel if the scale didn't move "enough," whatever that is. So, I passed and spent the day as planned tending my granddaughter (2 yrs), preparing good and healthy food for her, but eating OP for myself. Maybe tomorrow I'll weigh in...

Congrats. Kellie on scale action. I totally understand the stale or slow movement. I spent two weeks up and down and only loosing .2 and 1.2 in those two weeks. But now I seem to have some 'action' again. Because I am a daily weigher I have had 6 days of small declines..

Today I hit my 10% loss of total body weight! My WI isn't until Wed. and I don't want to be disappointed so I only change my ticker on Wed. I am just hoping it stays down!.

Hope all the Sat. weighers have good results to post..

Have a great day everyone...

KellyAnn and Kellie congrats on your losses!!! Way to go!.

Gloria, 10 percent loss is fantastic!.

Denise, I know stall equals BOO! I hope it doesn't last long..

I went to a Silpada jewelry party last night at a friend's house who lives an hour away. I drank water, not even soda. And no food. She had some healthy choices. I guess a couple of guests were vegetarian. But, I ate right before I left.

I ate lunch in the dining hall. Can we say all you can eat buffet? I had rotisserie chicken and a salad. They had everything from a nacho bar to a pasta bar. They had plenty of healthy choices too. And, we did a lot of walking.

Well happy Saturday!..

Tracey - ambitious one! I am still working on what I 'should' do and what I want to do..

I went shopping for the first time since I started the diet in Feb. DH does all the grocery shopping but since he has his PT job now, I needed food! I really realized how lucky I am not to have to be tempted! But I did walk out with only fresh veggies and necessary meats..

Lots of severe storms in Iowa last night, tornado really ripped through a town about 2 hours NW of us. Scarey time in tornado alley. Our temps went from winter temps of 30's to highs in the upper 80's in the last 2 weekends!!! I want my spring back! We usually don't get this high until June..

I am taking this week off from work, since it's only my 2 day week which is 10 hours, so I can do yard work, and stain the deck. That should burn some calories!.

Have a great OP day...

I am intrigued by the shakes-helping-the-scale-go-down thing. I tried it my self when my weight has stalled and it seems to work. There are a few less calories in the shakes, but it must be more than that..

Monday is my day off and we usually end up running errands that can't be done conveniently over the weekend. I have a massage to work on my ouchie areas and I finally broke down and bought some frozen peas in bags to use as ice on these spots after a massage or exercise session. Have you ever tried this? I thought my massage therapists were nuts when they suggested this, but it's convenient and cheap. And since I'm not eating peas these days.....

I hope you all have a happy, sunny Monday!..

Happy Monday - we finally cooled down in Iowa today after a hot, humid weekend with over 25 tornados reported in the state. None of them were near me..

To worry about leaky bags..

Tracey, I will 'gladly' stain the deck compared to working with what you will deal with on your patio, should burn alot of calories, but ugh, that's alot of work..

Since I am a daily weigher something has happened this week that hasn't happened since I started Medifast - I have had 8 straight days of decreases, minor decreases, but decreases non the less. Most weeks, I am down, I am up, I am down, mentally I prepare myself that there's a possibility it will go up. Now to just hold this pattern for 2 more WI until my reported day of Wed.!.

I am off work this week - but since I only work 10 hours on my short week I am not sure I can count it. LOL.

Our little group just keeps getting smaller. Where have all the Melt Aways gone? Miss you all!..

Barb: I have the higher protein shakes and the antioxidant shakes so I don't have any of the 90 calorie shakes. Instead of losing 3 lbs. one week and a pound the next week I've been losing 2 or a little over 2 per week. The one thing I've been doing differently is drinking more drinks, but mostly hot. Maybe, it's additional water? I can see doing more of the 90 calorie shakes b/c it's less calories. It seems to work for many..

Frozen peas work! So do frozen green beans, if you want an on plan food that doubles as a ice pack, lol. I make pea salad for dh and the kids, they love it! It's one bag of peas, 3/4 cup of light mayo, half a small chopped red onion, and two chopped hard boiled eggs. Add salt and pepper to taste, mix it all and chill. Sometimes, I add some chopped red pepper too. No pea salad for me any time soon..

Gloria, enjoy your short work week!..

Gloria, I'm glad to hear you are not in the tornado area. Boy, is that scarey and I'm just watching it on the news! Storms are lovely as long as they stay relatively mild..

Tracy, green beans, huh? Teehee! Idk, the bags seem to help. That bratty little kid in me who doesn't wanna do unpleasant stuff is wrong this time. Why did you choose to go with the higher protein shakes?.

Cara, computer troubles suck. There is no other word for it. Machines are wonderful when they work as intended, but when they go down, it drives me nuts!.

I'll be weighing later. I have high hopes. Happy Tuesday, ladies...

Cara: that stinks about your computer. Hubby has the laptop while he is away. I've been using my IPad which is an experience in itself when trying to use it as a regular computer. I think I may go buy the keyboard. I can't type very fast on the touch screen...

Cara - being computerless stinks - I would be lost without it. I have a laptop and hubby uses the desktop. Heck sometimes we even talk to each other on it when he's in the man cave. (I know that's bad.) LOL.

Barb - sending you good luck vibes for the weigh in..

Tracey tomorrow is our weigh ins. I am hoping for a good number for us BOTH!.

Had a very productive day outside working yesterday - we power washed the deck, house and shed, I cleaned the raspberry garden, we trimmed trees (hate cleaning up that part), I cleared more of the flower beds. Today with very cooperative weather we will stain the deck and continue working on flower beds and garden. For living in a city we have a close to a half acre - and I love playing in dirt!.

I think I burn more calories doing that work than the gym!..

Gloria, I want to start a garden. I never have any luck with potted tomatoes. This year I'm thinking about planting tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers. I red this article on doing an above ground type garden. You lay a layer of newspaper down, put down compost and mulch, then you deeply water it and plant your plants in it. It never goes in the soil.

So, I don't know if I should just dig up a patch of grass and plant in the soil. Do you have any tips?..

answered Apr 29 at 13:44

Tracey, when I lived in New Jersey I had limited growing space and I have this need to plant - being a farm girl and all. I did peppers and tomatoes and lots of herbs (basil, oregano, dill, chives) all in pots. It takes daily water, especially where you are with your heat. But otherwise, it worked great. Just put tomato cages on for support. My plants would grow 3' high - I usually use a 12" pot, put pea gravel in the bottom for good drainage..

But it is possible to build up a garden without removing sod, etc. A good compost,/top soil mixed with manure depending on how good the top soil is -should work just fine for you..

Google - gardening in bale of straw. (I don't have the web page but will see if I can find it again) I read this the other day. You can actually dig out part of the straw in the top of the bale and fill with potting soil and plant in it. I kinda worried about seeds from the straw, but I am contemplating trying it with some gourds I want to grow where I need them to climb the fence, but don't want to dig up the area by the fence..

Off to stain the deck today, and if all goes well we are tilling the new flower bed, I am excited!.

I just looked up how many calories outside work and garden does - No gym for me for a few days at this rate. LOL..

Good morning, Meltastics..

Checking in to see how everyone is doing! I'm doing pretty well all things considered. Weather is warming up here nicely, but we're keeping out fingers crossed for all those who live near rivers and streams. They're awfully high and thankfully that doesn't include me, but I do worry for those that are not me. It's really easy to have thankful thoughts these days when you see so many others having unimaginable difficulties..

I'm entering another new decade It's a little early, but with my undying optimism, I unveil my weigh-in this morning. 240.5!.

Next week ladies, the weigh-in WILL be in the 230-somethings. Oh, does it get better than this? My weight deletion journey began with me looking out onto 300 lbs and saying "please, I don't want to go there." I know I can do this. Thank you. Thank you so much...

Well, I've finally caught up with what's going on and I'm soooo impressed by everyone's WL!!! You all inspire me greatly..

Plus getting all that outside work done, Gloria you're going to have such a beautiful yard!.

It's rainy and wet out here in the PNW, we had some sunshine yesterday but now we're back to dreariness. It sure doesn't inspire one to much outdoor activity..

My computer is soooo much faster since they cleaned it all up for me but unfortunately all of my emails are gone as are email addresses... yikes! I didn't know that would happen. Kind of a bummer but I am enjoying the speed so I guess it was worth it..

I am kind of stalled in WL right now... but I know that slow and steady works so I'm hanging in there. OP all the way! One thing I have noticed is that if I drink extra water my numbers go down much faster. I think that's why drinking only the shakes helps us lose more... more shakes = more water. I don't know for sure though, it's just my two cents worth, lol..

Well kids are calling, I've got to go... hope you all have an OP day!.

Hi everybody!.

Gloria, congrats on your loss. It's weird to say it that way, your loss, I know you are not mourning those 4 pounds!! Teehee!.

Claire, I hope your phone interview went well. What are you interviewing for?.

Cara, I think I'd cry if I lost all my email addresses. Extra water helps me too! I commend you for being in such good spirits with your stall and computer woes. It's enough to drive a girl mad!.

I'll start a new thread in the am. I just realized we didn't have one. I'm usually on here early, but I went to the grocery store today, finally..

I got a spaghetti squash this time. Wish me luck on the baking of it! I'm really missing DH. He has two more weeks. And when he returns, my in-laws come in the same day..

Well today, for the third weigh in, in a row, I've lost 2.2 pounds. Weird to loose the exact same thing three continual weeks, but hey, I'll take it!!..

The prodigal returneth! Or, something like that. I'm back and stuff! I'm only mildly damaged emotionally, but I have a really good tan! I blogged about it, but the long and short of it was that I didn't stay 100% OP, but I made good choices nonetheless. I deleted 5.5 in the three weeks I was gone and I'm very happy for it. I excercised my behind off and am back now 100%. I haven't changed my ticker for the boards, but I'm at 245.5 The great news I have is that I've hit my 10% body weight loss. When I first started my intense weight deletion, I weighed 272 and I'm 27 lbs down.
