I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I find an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can help you..

Cravings suck.
However, if you think this will curb it you can do this:. Make either a bagel out of one of the cream soups (search the recipe forum for bagel) or use a pancake mix like this:. Take a small round glass bowl, that has at least 2 inch sides, preferably one that's about the diameter of an english muffin. You can use a coffee mug, but I just like the wider bowl so that this turns out right.. Mix it with 1/4c water, as instructed. I just dump the water in the bowl, put in the mix, and stir out the lumps. Then nuke it for 80 seconds. Turn it out, and split it in half like an english muffin. Toast that up (don't have to, but it improves it imo by getting rid of the wetness of nuking). Viola, top with some turkey, a slice of light cheese, tomato, lettuce, and whatever else you want on there. You could even have some pickle slices, as those are allowed as a snack on MF. Just be warned that pickles and deli meat have higher sodium. I always consider that stuff when it comes to weigh in day.. Is this going to be as good as the sandwich you were craving? Maybe not, but hey, it's a great substitute for now, and it IS on plan. Ham is higher in sodium and saturated fat, so it's not recommended... |

I propose that the psychological shift that is necessary is to acknowledge the craving and kick it. Acknowledge that you crave food just like an alcoholic craves booze. Just say no. Don't make a cutesy substitute, say you are a strong adult woman who intends to break a bad habit. The carbs stop here. Just do the Medifast plan, slim down, and let the habits change themselves...

I too have cravings every now and then...but alas they usually don't last long. Thank goodness for my little Pancake muffins. They are not cutesy at all,in fact they sometimes come out very ugly. But they are totally Medifast and just made in a mug instead of in a pan, which I could never get right. I cut mine in half and toast in the oven under the broiler, and spread a half tsp of peanut butter (part of a snack) on each half. With a cup of coffee or tea and a glass of water this is so very filling that you will forget about that sandwich!..

Just came across this thread and I have to defend my awesome Shaker Sister Arielle....
How is her suggestion "cutesy?" I think it's an amazing suggestion because pancakes to me, are SO filling and totally satisfy my bread cravings...plus I make mine into waffles and they get so toasty and delicious.. I think that there's so much more to weight loss than "just saying no" and what not. Cravings happen and if there's something you can make as a substitute (a very GOOD one) that will prevent you from going off plan, do it!.. |
