First question I got is Medifast Diet Hummus (store bought) during phase 1? Many thanks for any response. Another question I got... Is it OK to have more than 1 Medifast bar a day? I thought I had read you were only allowed 1 bar a day due to their higher sugars/carbs/etc? Is this true?.. |

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I bump into an useful answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can help you..

Right all the bars in the yellow wrappers are fine to have for all 5 meals if you like....yikes but watch out for the gas! LOL..

Lol, I don't plan on eating 5 bars a day but curious if I was able to have more than 1...

The advice is correct. The yellow wrapped bars are technically like the other Medifast meals and interchangeable as many as 5 times a day..
The green wrapped bars are only ONE per day.. Now the reason I said 'technically' is because of this:. I joined Medifast to learn a new lifestyle, not just be on yet another diet, go off of it or fool around with it. Lose some, gain some, lose some more and gain some more.. So I knew after I got to goal, I would never eat 5 bars a day to maintain a healthy weight. I would not eat 5 of anything, puddings, brownies, etc. after getting to goal. So......... I determined to make my Medifast day look like a day for the rest of my life. To develop good habits over the course of 5&1.. My breakfast was (and still is) within one hour of rising.. I choose a breakfast type Medifast meal.. Mid morning was a coffee type drink for me. Lunch was either my L&G or the Medifast soup or Medifast sandwich. Mid afternoon was a shake or some other 'treat' type Medifast meal.. Dinner was either my L&G or the Medifast soup or Medifast sandwich, depending on what I had for lunch that day.. My final meal ( I closed my kitchen at 8 pm) was always a treat. I had the pudding, ice cream, brownies, Medifast candy or whatever.. Today after over TWO and HALF years at goal, I still eat 6 small meals a day and and have been able to add all sorts of wonderful healthy treats to my day. Like greek yogurt, whole grains, fruits and other veggies. I've traveled all over the world with those little packets and did not ever knowingly ever go off plan. (maybe because my day looked and felt so healthy and normal, not like a diet). It is just a suggestion and what worked for me.. You can do this thing any way that works for you, but I KNOW for certain, had I just had all shakes, bars or what have you, after a few weeks or months it would feel like a diet. And we all know how those have worked in the past. Maybe why Medifast does not call itself a DIET, but a LIFEPLAN.. Hope this helps.. Bon Appetito!.. |

Chatty - I believe that was my downfall because I hit goal with 5 hot cocoas plus l&g each day. It was what happened after the scale showed what I wanted - although it worked, it wasn't reasonable for life. Great advice...

So interesting because I have been doing my days extremely similar to yours. The only time I veer from this is if I am caught in a "situation" and must eat a bar or packet from my purse. The rest of the time I follow very much what you have put forth here..
It has been working well. I change up flavors with each order, but like the feel of it and the variety. I like variety in my foods and would get bored with 5 of anything either I believe... |
