Joyce - Thanks for getting us started this month! I just noticed you only have like 8 more pounds until you are under 200!!! YAY!!! Sending positive vibes to you that it will happen in the next few weeks. What a huge milestone!.

Tas - I got a lot of good rest, in fact it is 10am and I am writing this on my laptop, sitting in bed. I am in heaven!.

What are you taking state board exams for? Just curious, if you said before, I have forgotten so refresh my memory.

AFM - I weighed in today and almost made it to 60 lbs lost but still a good respectable weight loss even being on vacation. I must say I am really glad I have stuck with Medifast and chose to do it even while out of town. I know people have stalls and weeks where they gain but right now, I need that downward momentum to keep up so I stay motivated..

Hi to everyone else - Sharon, Kraftie, kegsmom, thistime, chewysmom, Debra and everyone else I am missing! Drink your water, and stay OP!..

Klynne... I just graduated from a Family Nurse Practitioner program. Now I have to take the state boards. My weakest area, it seems, is antibiotics. I plan on going back to my class notes and studying from those..

Just got back from a nice 2 mile hike with the dogs out in the mountains. We're all pooped out and feeling good. It's really starting to feel like summer out here! It's in the 80s!..

Congratulations Tas! That is awesome. My cousin is a nurse and I know how much she studied to finish her program and for the Boards. I helped her study throughout so much I felt like I went to nursing school. it was lot of flashcards and having her explain to me different things to make sure she really understood the material. Good luck with the studying and sending positive vibes that you pass your State Boards!..

Klynne... thank you so much for the kind words. I'm putting in a lot of time studying... Tuesday was a day off and I spent 6 hours studying. I would have done more, but I got brain tired. I study on the bus ride to and from work, so that's 2 hours twice a week plus whatever else I squeeze in.

Phew. What a relief...

Happy April Diamonds!.

It's been a crazy couple of days, so I haven't been able to get on line & check-in. OP & starting to introduce little bits of exercise. In the past exercise has been about humiliation and failure for me. I am determined to learn to love moving my body, which for me is about letting go of the past & thinking outside the box. So I bought a wii fit last weekend. I can now exercise in the privacy of my own home, at the pace my body is ready to move, and maybe even have some fun.

(I always think I've been moving a lot longer than I actually have.

) And it has exercise games!!! I love games, so this is helping me to actually turn the darned thing on & sweat a little..

Joyce - Thanks for getting us up & running in April. I am inspired every time I see your ticker! Your example helps me to know that I am on the right journey. Thank you!.

Tas - You're gonna blow 'em away when you sit for your boards! I remember studying for mine 17 years ago & sitting in front of the testing center computer thinking I'd blown it. (Mine had about 7 questions on amputation... 1 hour lecture & no practical experience, I had not a clue.) What a relief when that envelope from the Board of Registered Nurses with my license came!!!! I'm getting ready to enter a CNM program & looking forward to moving forward with my original plan to be a midwife when I "grew-up"... tee hee, I'm way grown up now.

Wow, a 2 mile hike, way to go!.

Kori - Glad you had a great trip and to have a weight loss on vacation is awesome! Green with envy that you were in bed with your lap top at 10 this morning.

Hope you are all enjoying beautiful Spring weather!.

Hello ladies! Just had my early day... wake up at 5:20, which means I've already eaten 4 of my 5 meals. I'm cooking up dinner now at 4 p.m. because I'm hungry. I've been hungry for two days now..

I have to confess that today I felt like stepping on the scale to see if I've lost any weight since my weigh in on Wednesday even though TOM is here... well, I GAINED 3 lbs!!! You can imagine how badly I freaked out. I wish I'd never stepped on the scale. Gosh, I have to lose that weight by next Wednesday!!!! Any comments or suggestions?.

Chewy... thanks for the encouragement. I studied some more today at work while my students worked with their patients and got through a good portion of the book. I've heard that the FNP exam is not as hard as the RN exam, so I'm hoping this is what I experience because I'm terribly nervous..

To everyone else... hope you all had a great Friday! See you all tomorrow!!!..

TGIF! It's been a l-o-n-g and challenging week. I feel good that I stayed OP in spite of the many opportunities for stumbling off the path. Mildly discouraged today. Saw my healthy lifestyle coach (which is part of my prep for bariatric surgery) who strongly encouraged me to not continue Medifast "as it wouldn't help me to learn how to handle real food, resulting in a less successful post-op wt maintenance." Mind you I have been on Medifast (what she recommended) for a good portion of my 50 years, and gave it an honest, 100% 2 month on program last ditch effort prior to starting MF. (Really didn't want to live on a program that is based on supplement and processed foods. But also didn't want to have pain with every step I took or die of heart disease/diabetes at an early age.

) On WW I was eating 1200 cals a day, on the low carb end, & I consistently gained weight. The reason I am even investigating wt loss surgery is that I have polycystic ovarian disease, putting me at very high risk for diabetes. Working in health care, I clearly understand the ramifications of high blood sugar, and don't want to be a diabetic... but as I've aged, my labs are creeping up. Bariatric surgery has a >then 80% cure rate for diabetes & is 100% preventive (if one truly makes the required lifestyle changes). So I'm discouraged with her suggestion.

I plan to continue what has been working (MF) & make an appointment with the dietitian to discuss my options. (And a message to the Good Doc, who suggested a 900 cal diet to jump start mt metabolism in the first place.) I'm thinking perhaps the 4:2 plan might be an acceptable alternative. It just doesn't make sense to me to quit doing what is working. (It's been a long time since I saw the scale go down... not wanting to give that up!) Thanks for allowing me to vent.

Tas - remember that it is not unusual for women to hold 2 to 5 pounds of extra fluid during the days before & first days of TOM. You've stayed on program and the reward will come, even if it doesn't show up this week. Don't beat yourself up, drink your water, avoid the salty stuff and remember that cucumbers are a natural diuretic.

Have a lovely Easter week end Diamonds! I hope spring has come to your neck of the woods and that you have the opportunity to get out and enjoy some sun shine!.

PS: First time ever - no chocolate in the house at this time of the year!!! Bought myself a giant bunch of spring blossoms, ditched the kids Easter baskets (OK, they're actually adults) and got them both books I know they will enjoy. Change feels good!..

Thistime4sure ~ Yay!!! Way to go 6 pounds ~ Celebrate!.

I'm going to brunch tomorrow too. I was asked to bring a veggie tray & dip. In addition, I'm bringing a small veggie plate for myself, with my snack celery, & 1 veggies worth of cucumber spears, radishes, cauliflower buds, 2 wedges of laughing cow cheese (1 healthy fat), & Medifast honey mustard pretzels. I'll use the cheese as a dip for my veggies & pretzels - yummy! I'll also have a glass of iced tea at hand, sipping on something helps me to shift my focus from the food, to the conversation. The thought of experiencing those headachey, starving, crabby, space cadet days all over again to get to ketosis has kept me from straying off program. Hope you have a wonderful OP Easter celebration with your church community!.

Chewysmom. Your lunch sounds wonderful. I gave in and had a subway sandwich for lunch. Didn't realize how low cal they actuay were loaded up with veggies. Really goingto try harder today..

Question about ketosis: is that why I have a funky "sweet" taste in my mouth? And how do I make sure I stay in that stage? What moves you out of it? Too many calories or carbs??..

answered Apr 28 at 18:40

Jaylin's gravatar image

Thistime - That funky sweet taste in your mouth is exactly ketosis. I believe it is too many carbs that bumps you out of ketosis. If you are extra hungry, they always recommend an extra ounce or two of protein which doesn't have carbs. So definitely watch your carbs and keep that sweet taste in your mouth...

Happy Easter Diamonds!.

Kori - Roast turkey sounds wonderful - Enjoy your time with your family!.

This time - Keep the sweet taste in your mouth and the sugarless mint gum in your purse.

My darling son aka the man cub, presented me with a box of sf cinnamon gum instead of an easter basket "to keep the Medifast dragon breath at bay"..

This journey is all about progress, not perfection. For me the important thing is to do the best I can in any given moment, learn when I fall down, and get up, dust off my hiking boots & keep on walking the path. I'm guessing choosing one of the light subway sand choices is BIG progress from what you would have chosen a couple of months ago! For me the best I could do today was choose the 20 calorie diet drink, when I learned that all the ice tea was sweetened. I made a conscious choice, logged it into my food diary, will choose from the lowest carb veggies tonight, and let it go. Next time I'll bring my own back-up beverage just in case. In the past, my perfectionist, never good enough self would have thrown in the towel (over 20 calories & 5 carbs, makes me chuckle now), called myself a failure and dived into the homemade ice cream with a shovel.

This pup has learned all sorts of new things about herself in the last month, not to mention the mysterious art of transforming cauliflower into all sorts of marvelous & eatable foodstuffs!.

The scale moved dramatically, too. I need to stop being a daily weigher, though. I'm going to be better starting this week..

Klynne... enjoy your first day back at work! You wanna come to my job and sit in on a 3 hour meeting?.

Vicky... Welcome!!! This is a great group of ladies..

Vicky ~ Welcome! I think you'll love this group. The women here are kind, funny, have lots of great tips, and have been a great source of support for me. Check out the longer standing member's tickers, talk about inspiring!!!.

Kori ~ Hope your first day back to work is a good one!.

Tas ~ 2000 calories worth of yard work x 2 days??? Holy smokes, can you move today? Wow, I'm impressed... an hour of heavy yard work and I'm down for the count. Hope your treating yourself to something decadent... like a massage or pedicure! You've earned every pound of your loss this week girl friend!.

This Time ~ Have a wonderful on program Monday. You are in the right place, doing the right thing, at the right time and you deserve this success. Go for it!.

Joyce ~ Hope you are enjoying a wonderful OP day!.

I'm looking for healthy, positive, take care of me ideas. I tend to put myself on the bottom of the list & have often resorted to using food for self care. Which you may have guessed, hasn't worked out so well.

What are the simple, day-to-day, or weekly ways that you tell yourself that you're worth it? I'd really love to hear and hopefully borrow some of your practices. One positive self care habit I have developed is that I get a massage every other week. OK, it isn't a practice I gifted myself... it's doctor ordered due to an old injury and this 60 minute bi-weekly slice of heaven keeps me off of narcotic pain medications. But the fact that I actually budget the $$ & religiously do it is a big step for me. The other thing I do for me is take some sort of a class at least every other term - artsy crafty, spiritual, nursing related, personal growth & development, current events, what ever catches my eye.

And I bought a beautiful bouquet of iris & lavender stock at Trader Joe's this week, just because they made me smile..

Coffee breaks over ~ time to correct fetal monitoring exams!.

Take good care of yourself today!.

Good Evening Diamonds!.

My 28th day weigh in this morning and I was nervous since I am tight-ring TOM bloated today. (Hmm, do you think the pickles I ate last night might have contributed? I would have gone for a salt lick if one had been available.

) Anyway, I am very happy to report that I'm down another 3 pounds! Yippee!!! I weigh in at work and did the happy dance down the hall when I stepped off the scale. When I rounded on patients later that day, one of them asked if I was the "lady chanting 3lbs, down 3 pounds, oh yeah, 3 pounds" in the hall earlier today. So much for professional behavior... I was just so prepared for a gain, that this loss felt nothing short of a miracle..

Have noticed that my blood sugar seems to be low today, thinking this too is related to TOM. Ended up eating a portion of my L&G after my Medifast soup at lunch to pull myself up. Anyone else noticed this? Haven't had problems with low blood sugar before... of course when you graze constantly, your blood sugar doesn't really have an opportunity to fall does it?.

Take care Diamonds!.

Any oatmeal, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1T I can't believe it's not butter light, 2T eggbeaters, mix and nuke for 1 min.

Then I use a Walden Farms syrup or spread on it. Great!.

So I mix that up in a mug and then nuke it and it makes a muffin? Will have to give that a try..

Thank you for the info on the soup too. I had a chicken and rice the other day that was pretty crunchy. So will try mixing it up a day or two in advance and see if I like it better..

Any suggestions on improving the not so creamy tomato soup?? I am trying to not add salt to the soup as I know that causes water retention, but it really needs help!!.

Sorry for all the questions, I just know I am going to get bored with the selection I have soon and need to keep a variety..

Also, has anyone tried the crab soup?..

I mix it in a cereal bowl (small Corel) and it works great. Tomato is normally my favorite soup but this one is really bad!!! About the best I can do with it is adding pico de galla (sp.) and creole seasoning. I have done chips with it before but mostly just don't order it! The chips you just mix with 2T water and spread out thin on parchment paper with whatever seasoning you want (I like creole!) nuke for 1 1/2 min. and turn. Then another 30 sec. I think.

Not the best! Good luck!..

Wow Diamonds, we lost a lot of weight this week!.

Tas - At the rate you're going, by next week your pants will be falling down! Doesn't it feel great to have loose clothes?!?!.

Joyce - 2 1/2 pounds gone for good, congratulations! Thanks for the creole spice suggestion for the tomato soup. I've been adding bouillon & salsa trying to make it tolerable. But I really like Cajun type seasonings, so maybe that will make it more tolerable. Also looking forward to trying your muffin recipe... yours is much simpler than the others I've seen posted. Do you use ground flax or whole flax seeds in your muffins?.

Jennifer - Woo-hoo 23 pounds in 5 weeks, hope you are celebrating! Rounded on the same patient I saw yesterday on the postpartum unit. When I entered the room she said "What, no happy dance today?" Mildly embarrassed, but happy none the less. (Well, at least I keep our patients entertained :P ).

This Time - I can't seem to get liquids to work without leakage... so I keep a giant mug at work. When I make my midmorn meal, I mix my soup mix with broth, heat it for 90 seconds, and let it sit until lunch time. Then I re-nuke, adding water to thin as necessary. (And add Tabasco of course) Even the cream soups seem to taste better after soaking. Haven't tried the crab soup...

After the tomato soup, freeze dried crab just sounds too scary..

My husband (who hates cauliflower) asked if I'd make the chili rellanos again. Now that I have figured out a core group of meals my men folk will also eat, dinner is a lot more pleasurable..

Wishing you a lovely OP Thursday - keep on doing what you've been doing, cause it's working!!!!.

Take Care,.

I fell off the wagon yesterday..

I was like a crazed woman eating all sorts of bad food. This isn't good. I know I took in at least 3500 calories, so I'm sure I put on at least one lb. I'm back on the wagon today, but I need to work on what causes me to cheat and what the overwhelming urge is to do so..

Please be gentle with me. I'm not feeling too good from the cheat...

I see where you welcome newbies. I ordered my Medifast yesterday. I can't wait for it to arrive. I have done about everything under the sun to lose weight. My brother who is also overweight, (we both have the fat gene)!!! It is a familial thing LOL... anyway he has lost a total of 50 lbs.

I decided I was going to give this a try. I have also thought of bariatric surgery, but I am also a nurse, and my father is a physician, and I have seen man complication, not only from the Gastric bypass, but also from the new Lap Banding procedure. It seems all those people gain their weight back as well. So after about a thousand times of WW(I tell the leaders I am in remdial classes), PS they don't like that comment)... and Jenny Craig, which worked as well, but we had some tragedy in our life at that time, ccouple of deaths, hubby lost job, etc.

After seeing my brother, I discussed this with my husband, and he was in agreement to try it. SO HERE I AM... I would love to join your group for the support encouragement and ideas..

Looking forward to this downward journey..

I will keep you posted. I just orderd yesterday, so not sure when it will arrive..

Hi Annisa!.

I just joined this group yesterday and started Medifast this past Monday. So far, so good. It is a HUGE change, but one I really need. I will let you know how much I lose when I weigh in on Monday. The best advice I can give you as a fellow "newbie" is to copy and paste all the wonderful recipes people post here into a word document. They have made all the difference in the world.

Pizza is one of my favorite foods, so I'm hoping I will love it like everyone else! When I tried the cream of tomato soup and the chili I gagged. Then I saw you could make bread out of them and I felt a ray of hope - LOL! Haven't tried them yet, but will soon. I know I could just eat crunch bars, cheese puffs, brownies and pretzels (which are all my favorites, but I have over 100 lbs. to lose and don't want to get bored. I wish you the very best on your journey with MF.

I would love the recipe for the chocolate cake. I need to try the oatmeal muffin as well. I am with you on wanting to keep things interesting..

I did try the tomato soup again today. Mixed it up and let it sit for 20 minutes before cooking. The "creamy" actually showed up in it..

I added a shake or two of garlic salt and put it in a travel mug and drank it on the way into town. It worked better as a hot drink rather than a soup..

Glad to see Annissa and Joy joining us. The ladies on this board are so helpful and encouraging to me. I wish you both success..

Hi Diamonds!.

I've been without internet for a couple of days and have missed you!.

As requested ~.

Mexican fried "rice" chili relleno.

This made 6.

Stuffed canned green chilies & serves 2.

First make 1 c fresh salsa to your taste: 1 minced raw jalapeo pepper, 1-2 minced clove garlic, 2-3 thin sliced scallions, 4 tablespoons minced cilantro, fill rest of the cup with diced fresh seeded tomato, add a squeeze of lime juice. 1/2 cup = 1 veggie Great as an addition to Medifast soups or eggs by the way! You could probably use a canned smooth salsa if you could find one that didn't have onions high on the ingredient list, but I make fresh weekly, so that's what I use..

Grate 2 cups raw cauliflower (food processor) & saut in Medifast pan with 1 tsp olive oil, 1 tbs chicken broth, 1 tsp of minced garlic, 1 tbs minced onion. Measure out 1/2 cup of the salsa above - From this 1/2 cup, add 1 TBS to pan & cook until cauliflower is tender (could mash with a fork- but don't)..

Sauce: Blend what remains of the 1/2 cup salsa, 2 tbs broth with 2 wedges laughing cow cheese until smooth. Use broth if necessary to thin to enchilada sauce consistency. If you like spicy, add Tabasco at this point..

Mix into cooked veggies: 1/4 cup eggbeaters, 1/2 cup 2% fat Mexican cheese blend and 1/2 cup 2% fat cheddar. (I can't consistently find non-fat cheese in my town, when I can I replace the 2% cheddar w/ NF, increase amt to 3/4 cup. Do NOT replace all of the 2%) Add enough of the blended salsa mixture to moisten..

Rinse 6 canned chilies & stuff evenly. Place in baking pan. Drizzle with remaining salsa mixture..

Bake at 350 until heated through & sauce thickens. (Sauce will be thick initially, get watery about 10 min into baking, then thick again - 30 to 40 min in my oven.).

3 stuffed chilies =.

3 veggies.

1/2 lean.

1 fat.

1-2 condiments.

Serve with 1/2 lean protein (grilled chicken breast or shrimp, etc basted in lime juice / 1tsp olive oil/ cumin / chili pepper mixture.

Welcome to the Diamonds Annissa and Joy! I value the positive support and great ideas I receive from this wonderful group of women. Plus, checking in regularly helps me to stay accountable & honest with myself. I wish you well on your journey to health!.

AFM: It's been a high stress, emotional, busy, two weeks and I find myself craving my old comfort foods - the grainy, starchy stuff. Cauliflower has once again saved my butt, since it is so easily transformed into starch replacements & I am savoring every kernel of rice in the chick & wild rice soup.

I've managed to stay on program in spite of my whole wheat toast dreams and illicit pasta fantasies, which is definitely a NSV for me. However, I'm not doing so well with exercise. I know that when I move my bod, my back & shoulders don't hurt as much, I sleep better, & my brain is clearer. And yet.... here I sit. I don't understand why it's so hard for me to do what I know will make me feel better on so many levels..

So I will continue to plan exercise into my day and ask myself the questions about what's holding me back, trusting that my willingness to take tender loving care of myself will blossom. One l-i-t-t-l-e step at a time, slow, but sure, I'll get there!.

Have a wonderful Sunday Diamonds!.

Wow! I am gone for a day and we have new members. WOOHOO!!! I love new friends to share this journey with..

Welcome Annisa & Brandy! This is a great supportive group of girls that are here on the same journey you are on. We support each other when we need it, provide the kick in the pants when we need it and shout for joy when we have successes. Come online and post often, it helps. If you are having a hard time or if you are doing awesome, post online! We love to hear from you!.

Sharon - I hear ya on the exercise. I went about 2 and half weeks without exercising after doing it pretty regularly. I started feeling so lazy and blah! I started back the past week and feel so good! Me and my sister have been hiking this trail near our houses twice this week. It is a lot of up and down the hills and stuff, feels so good after doing it. We also made it to the gym once as well. I really do feel better exercising.

Go for a walk..

Tas - Glad you are back on plan and doing better. I have heard when people go off plan, they compare it to a food hangover! I am actually scared if I going off plan because I don't want to feel like crap! It has been my inspiration to make good choices..

Joy - Hope to hear how your new recipes went. I love the cauliflower pizza and have convinced my Dad who doesn't like change that it is better than regular pizza. I made it for him Friday night and he loved it!.

AFM - Busy day yesterday. Birthday party for my neice, hiking in the morning, Baby shower in the afternoon. All around me off plan foods but I wasn't really even tempted. The only thing is that I was really craving salty foods. So I ate some pickles and that helped a bit. Not sure what my problem was but I am over it now.

I know if I would have grabbed a handful of peanuts or some chips, I would have totally regretted it. Have a great OP Sunday ladies! Drink your water!..

Hey Ladies! Welcome Brandy!!! I just returned from seeing the movie "Clash of the Titans". It was a little cheesy, but my husband and son really liked it. I took my water and chili nacho cheese puffs to munch on and they were great. My husband had a large coke and my son had a large Icee and together they polished off a large popcorn - ew gross! Tomorrow is my 1st weigh in, so everyone say a little prayer for me! I'll be back here tomorrow to share the news, be it good or bad. I haven't jumped on the scale at all this week, so I have no idea. I will say that I don't feel as bloated, but that might be because I gave up diet sodas when I started MF.

Hope you're having a Super Sunday,.

Happy Sunday Diamonds!.

It's a cold, stormy day here in N. California. I'm not complaining, cause we need the rain. However, I am dreaming of sunny days, I can't seem to get warm these days. Wishing the annoying hot flashes of a few months back would return about now.

Brandy - Welcome to the Diamonds! This program works and the support & encouragement of this great group of women will make the journey easier. Keep reminding yourself that it gets easier (much) after the first week and treat yourself with the tender loving care you deserve!.

Joy - Great job getting through the first week, it got much easier for me during the second week once I was firmly planted in ketosis. I look forward to seeing your updated ticker tomorrow, I think you will be very pleased with your results! Remember, you are so much more than the number on the scale & that there are no bad results, only opportunities. (My son just read this over my shoulder & said I was a Polly Anna positive thinker... was that supposed to be a compliment or a criticism? Hmm, I think I'll take it as a complement.

Kori - I'm with you on the pickles. Salty foods seem to be my most persistent craving and there have been days when the only thing that kept me OP was a Clausen's pickle. I swear they have medicinal properties! I've finally made the connection that I crave salt not only during TOM, but when I'm not drinking enough H2O, so I really appreciated your reminder to drink up. Thank you for your encouragement around exercise, it's good to know I'm not alone with this struggle!.

Joyce - I made the muffins this morning, delicious! (Who knew that oatmeal sludge could be transformed to something actually enjoyable?) The ground flax seed give the muffins a nutty flavor I really like (not to mention the other benefits of flax.

Hang in there everybody ~ It's great to be a part of such a successful group of "losers"!.

I forgot to tell everyone that I made the cauliflower pizza yesterday and it was WONDERFUL! I bought a large head of cauliflower and it made "8" pizza crusts. I ate one for dinner last night and froze the others. There are so many variations of this recipe, but here's the one I followed:.

1/4 cup Egg Beaters (1/8 Lean).

3/8 cup (which = 1/4 cup + 2 Tbls) 2% low fat shredded Mexican 4 cheese variety for a.

Firmer crust (3/8 lean).

1 cup Fresh Cauliflower chopped in my Salad Shooter - or you can use a food processor (2 greens).

Dash of Italian spices (optional).

Mix together and put into a Pam sprayed foil pie pan. Pat down so it all sticks together..

Bake 20 min at 450 till it starts to turn brown then flip it over and bake another 10 minutes. I bought 9 disposable pie pans and baked 4 at a time. I used the extra pan to place on top of the hot pans to flip them over. Then I could just slide the crust back into it's original pan. I'm sure a spatula would work just as well..

2 tsp Ragu Pizza Quick sauce - it's only .5g of sugar (2 condiments).

1/2 cup 2% low fat shredded Mozzarella cheese (1/2 lean).

1/2 cup of veggie - I used red, yellow & orange bell peppers (1 green).

I then cooked my pizza on preheated pizza stone at 425 for 10 min which made the crust even crisper - Yum! you could also use a cookie sheet or even the foil pie pan used to bake the crust..

Let cool, wrap each in plastic wrap and then stack them in a Ziploc freezer bag. Foil tins can be easily washed and ready for next time. When ready to use let defrost, top with toppings and bake. From one large fresh head of cauliflower I got 8 crusts. I think it's best to make several at a time, so when you get the urge for pizza, you can just have pizza without all the mess!.

The crusts are so good plain you dont even need to top them with anything. I think next time I might just chopped the 1/2 cup of bell peppers and add them to the crust mixture before baking. I could leave off the pizza sauce (saving 2 condiments) and only melt the moz cheese on top. I think it would taste like a decadent quiche..

So if anyone.

Pizza like I do, this is the way to go!.

Bikini - Welcome! Glad to have you here. It's a great group of ladies here. Come and post often, we'd love to chat with you!.

Joyce - For my cauliflower pizza, I use fresh cauliflower. I "rice" it with a cheese grater but I know some use a food processor but I don't have one. It grates up pretty quickly though. The recipe is as follows:.

1 c. loosely packed cauliflower.

1/4c. eggbeaters.

2 oz. (1/2 c.) mozzarella or mexican blend cheese (depends on what I have on hand).

1 t. olive oil (healthy fat).

Dash of Italian Seasonings.

1 t. crushed garlic.

Mix together and put on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet..

Bake at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes. Flip it and cook for about 6 more minutes..

(I have found that if I cook it to just about burning, then it holds together well).

Put your toppings on : 1 serving veggies, about 4 oz. cheese.

Put it under broiler until cheese is all melted..

For the toppings, I usually slice tomatoes thinly and put the cheese on top with a bit of basil. Tastes better than a margherita pizza you can buy at a restaurant I think..

Hope that helps!..

Good Evening Diamonds!.

Slow, cold, stormy day... and I'm feeling like a slug. Would have preferred a day in bed with a book to work, but I had a class to teach and budget reports to do. Came home to a really yummy dinner prepared by my sweet heart - BBQed blue cheese burgers & grilled asparagus. (OK, if the truth be told - I minced the mushrooms/green onions, weighed out the low fat blue cheese & 96% lean burger, seasoned & mixed it and carefully portioned it out yesterday... but he grilled it.

I felt quite virtuous & was only gasping for breath for 5 minutes afterwords vs my usual 10..

Joy - Congratulations - 7 pounds, 28 sticks of butter off your body for good! You're off to a great start..

Charisse - Welcome to the Diamonds! This is an incredibly supportive & inspiring group of women, it's nice to know we aren't alone on this journey..

Kori ~ Have a great time in Atlanta!!! Your pizza recipe is a little different from mine, I'll have to try it. Do you use 2% cheese, NF, or regular? I've been using 2% with good success. My favorite is the same as yours - a thick layer of chopped fresh basil, with a layer of thin sliced ripe tomatoes. heaven on earth!.

Joyce - Thank you for your encouragement. My mantra has become "progress not perfection". Beating myself up about not being perfect hasn't gotten me where I want to be, so I'm working on being gentle with myself and everyone around me..

Annisa and Brandy - Has your food arrived yet? I got so excited unpacking my first order - I felt hopeful about my weight for the first time in a long time... 23pounds & 4 wks later I'm feeling even more hopeful!.

Tas - Two days back OP, yea! For me, getting back on track is harder than starting in the first place. It's easy to through in the towel & give up. Good for you for climbing right back onto your path and moving forward! I'm waiting for my order too. I can't wait to have "crunchies back" - missing pretzels..

Anybody - Is there any way to redeem the beef stew? It smells & looks like dog food & tastes like... Any hints?.

I'll update my ticker tomorrow after I weigh in. I will make a good faith effort not to embarrass myself when I see my results (did the happy dance down the L&D hall way last week), but I can't guarantee I will be professional or dignified. It just feels so darned good to be successful in this one area of my life that has been about failure until now!.

Remember that you are worth it!.

Wooh Whee! Love all the chatter on here today!.

Jennifer - Good job on the loss. I just saw that you have lost 20% WTG!.

Tas - I love, love, love the brownies! I have one almost every night. My mom who isn't on Medifast said she wants to order some brownies so she can have some. The smell drives her crazy and I love telling her, sorry, can't have it, it's my diet food!.

Joyce - WTG on the NSV. What a great accomplishment!.

Charisse - Good tip on the caramel bars! Sometimes they get a little hard because the caramel is not so chewy all the time..

Sharon - Your blue cheese burgers sounded really good. Very nice to come home to a cooked meal..

AFM - Can't wait to see some of your weigh in's tomorrow. I also weigh in tomorrow. Hopefully will be a good week for me, but I tend to go in cycles, couple good weeks, couple ok weeks. So...we shall see. Check back later ladies!..

Hey ladies!.

I'm headed to my 1st dinner out since starting Medifast 4/5. I go out once a month with my mom, aunts and cousins for "Girls Night Out". It consists of dinner and then a trip to Starbucks. No Starbucks for me tonight! We're going to the beach to eat some fresh seafood at Singleton's. I'm going to get either grilled or boiled shrimp and a side salad. I've already got my dressing packed in my little lunch bag cooler, so I can stay 100% OP! Wish me luck ....

Start Date: 4/5/10.

Joy - You go girl! You have this in the bag. Girl's night out is totally easy to do if you plan! I have brought my own salad dressing with me before as well! At Starbucks you can always do a black coffee if you like that or count in the sweetner or milk as part of your condiments. I know you can have tea as well but not sure if all the teas at Starbucks are legal on MF..

Good luck tonight! You will be glowing you will be so excited about your loss this week I am sure of it!..

Good Evening Diamonds,.

No happy dance at the scale this morning, as I was actually up 1 lb. Disappointing darn it! Had to remind myself that I am not the number on the scale, that I had been completely honest in my tracking for the week, had not consumed any off program foods, and by golly my drawers are falling down. So I pulled up my big (literally) girl panties, contained my whining to 5 minutes, let it go & got on with the day. Which is a NSV for me, a gain after an on-track week has been enough to send me over the cliff into the land of no return in the past..

I asked our resident dietitian to look at my tracker & give me some feed back. I was 100% OP this last wk, & it's not TTOM. Well... except my intake was under the three days I was feeling punky. I didn't finish my L&G x2, missed one L&G all together, & 1 Medifast meal. Per the RD, my calorie & carb level sent me into starvation mode.

Kind of weird to be told I wasn't eating enough. That's a first for sure..

Joy - You will be amazed at the voluming of shrimp that makes one 7oz serving. Enjoy your girls night out knowing that you have planned for success!.

Joyce - Fitting into one of those kidlet booths is a major accomplishment, congratulations!.

Jennifer - Yippee for 20% gone forever! Hope you are celebrating big! (Or should I say small.

Tas - Another day successfully completed OP, good job! The brownies are heavenly! I like them plain, or mix it up for variety with one drop of mint extract (strong stuff... 3 drops will blow your taste buds out), or a little coconut extract or a healthy shake of cinnamon, or almond extract stirred in. My mouth is watering... guess it's brownies for my evening meal..

Have a great Wednesday, make loving choices for yourself and celebrate how far you've come!.

Good night, Sharon..

Sharon - Hang in there. I am sure if you follow your friends advice and Medifast 100% you will see a good loss next week! Good job getting back on it and not wallowing in self pity. I think that is a lesson a lot of us have to learn to get over. Accept that the scale is not always going to listen to us (no matter how much we yell at it.

) and move on...

Good morning, Diamonds! I must have an angel watching over me because I weighed myself this morning and despite two cheats I lost 1.2 lbs! I'm shocked. I expected to be up that much. Well, no more cheats. I'm OP and happy to stick with it..

Have a great day! I'll be back later!..

Good morning Diamonds!!.

I had a small 1.2 lb. loss this week. Yay! Every pound down is one pound closer to goal..

Sharon, I have the same problem off and on about not getting enough calories. My coach told me to add a shake for a few days and it really helped. Think I may do that today in fact!!.

I haven't been logging everything lately, just so busy. So I logged yesterday and was pretty low!.

Y'all have a great day and hope everyone has a great weigh in this week...

This is crazyI am down 6.8 pounds since starting on 4/12. I step on the scale multiple times in the morning to make sure I am not hallucinating. I understand that there is a lot of water weight loss in the first week but this is bizarre. I did medifast previously but my first week weight loss was 7-8 lbs. I did not realize I was retaining so much fluid. I am on vacation so I am resting, drinking >100 ounces of water, using momentum products and sticking to the program so I guess that is helps...

Howdy Diamonds!!!.

WOW!!! I've not been here in forever!! Glad to be back!!.

Had a major meltdown over Easter weekend... had to put our oldest dog down - poor baby was so old & feeble he just couldn't walk any longer.

It was sooo hard.... and of course I tried to make it better by eating everything that wasn't tied down.... GAINED ALMOST 10 POUNDS!!!!!! But thank goodness for my Coach Kristy the Angel... she helped me cry, gave me hugs from 1,000 miles away, and got me back on track!!.

Welcome to all the newbies!! This is a great group - you'll love it here!!.

Hope everyone is doing well.... I'll be sure to stop in more regularly!!.

Xoxo - Love ya!!..

Ok, I'm back. Had to study some more... I don't think it's going so well. I'll find out tomorrow....

Ready... I'm so sorry about your dog... I don't even want to think about that time when it comes for our dogs. I'm so attached to them. They are the light of my life. Welcome back to this way of life..

Bikini... isn't it amazing how much water we retain?! Congrats on the big weight loss. Can't wait to see your first weigh in weight!.

Joyce... you and I lost the same amount this week! Thanks for reminding me that the scale moved in the right direction!!!!.

Sharon... hang in there with the weight loss. If I lost weight this week, then you likely will too. And if not... heck, there's always next week!!! Thanks for the brownie recipes.... I ordered two boxes last night..

Joy... you can always go to Starbucks! My favorite is an iced venti Americano! It's supreme!!!!.

I've run out of people to say hi to... Have a wonderful day no matter if I said something or not. Yay MF!!!..

Ready tofly - Sorry to hear about your hard time at Easter. Glad you are back on track now!.

Yesterday was a rough day...made it with no cheats...but that is incredible....I don't know if something was in the air or what...but I could have eaten anything!!!!It started with an ad for I think Einsteins with a bucket of donuts...then proceeded with the smell of chick filet, then it was everything....I think I would have sold my soul for a piece of pizza!!! It absolutely stunk! Green beans and chicken did nothing lol....thankfully I knew that if I had even one bite of any of those, with the way I was feeling..it would have led to a major fat attack and I would have cleaned everything out. Needless to say, I got in bed after dinner (around 7:30) and went to bed......if I stayed near the kitchen or even driven by somewhere good it would have been over. Today was easier, but still really hungry....no no's still are very appealing to me....better than yesterday though. Keeping fingers crossed that tonight and tomorrow get easier...

Moglie - Way to stay strong girl! I had to do that several times when I was starting and the cravings were bad. I would go to my room and hang out in there where there wasn't food. Sit and watch a movie, read a book or magazine. Anything that got my mind of eating and the food being cooked or consumed in the kitchen. It does get better though. Keep with it!..

Hi everyone!.

My Girls Night Out last night was a blast! I had steamed shrimp and a plain side salad (bowl of lettuce - LOL) with yellow & green bell peppers and cucumbers that I brought from home. I also brought my dressing and my meal was delicious. Everyone else had fried everything, hush puppies, french fries, loaded potatoes and the list goes on and on. I have to admit, it all looked really gross. They were all complaining when they were finished about how miserable they felt and I just had to laugh cuz I felt wonderful!.

Janet - Hi! I'm one of the "newbies". So sorry to hear about your beloved pet =(.

Kori - You give the best advice and encouragement and ALWAYS make me smile!.

Joyce & Tasmania - Congrats on your losses!.

Bikini - You're brave! I love to jump on the scale every day, but since starting Medifast on 4/5, I vowed not to. I only weigh on Mondays for my official weigh-in. Since our weight can fluctuate day to day, I would totally beat myself up if I didn't lose or worst yet - gained! I say whatever works for ya!.

Moglie - check out this recipe I just posted on the boards. This might be just what you need to indulge yourself and at the same time stay 100% OP!!!.

Ladies - If you give these a try, let me know what you think..

1 pk Hot Cocoa.

2 Tbs Sugar/Calorie Free Syrup - I use Starbucks Vanillla (1 condiment).

1 Tbs Room Temp. Water.

[if you don't want to use 1 of your condiments for the day, use all water].

1 pk Cinnamon Pretzel Sticks.

Cover a plate with foil. Mix hot cocoa and your preferred liquids to make a chocolate paste. Dip pretzel sticks into chocolate and place on plate or break them into small pieces and mix together with chocolate to make candies. I prefer to do both and ended up with 20 sticks and 6 candies. Place in freezer for 1-2 hours to harden the chocolate..

This counts as 2 Medifast meals, so I prefer to eat half as the afternoon meal and the other half as my evening meal. You'll need lots of water because these are so rich and wonderful. Funny thing is, I'm not even a big chocolate eater, but these are such a tasty treat!.

I took a photo of the plate, but I don't know how to post a picture. Anyone know?.
