That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I find an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..

I do eat mac & cheese. I don't eat much of course though. I have to be careful with it, it appears to be one of those slider foods. I buy the small microwave velveeta and shells bowl, so not to be wasteful. I don't have it often though, but it helps with my cravings. I know many people that have given up pasta, but I just do it in smaller doses...

I drink wine, Bailey's and on occasion have had some vodka with light cranberry juice..

Be careful, cause it hits you fast.....and I should say that I drink all of on occasion and not make myself sound like an alcoholic...

Kfletcher- no worries, I know alcoholics and you sounded nothing like one! I chose to do my.

Surgery.

At a young age (21) and was thinking about all the drinks I can no longer have. I'm more of a fruity mixed drink girl. I figured this isn't possible do to sugar in the juices..and also I drank things like different flavored vodkas in soda (obv not a choice). I only 1 month post op and not thinking about goin out and hitting the clubs anytime soon lol but curious for the future. I did hear from others alcohol affects post wls patients quick and strong lol..

Nichole I haven't had anything to drink yet, I'm almost a year out.. been scared to try.. BUT I have found "sugar free" mixes of pina coladas, daquiris, etc online that can be ordered.. you can tell I don't drink much.. I can't even spell the daquiris, lol. I am also a girl that likes fruity drinks. That won't work in a bar, but will at home, just a thought for the future...

Nichole I did ask, and they said to wait until I was a year out. I almost am. However I have no clue what I would drink if I did go out. I liked corona.. carbonation is out though.. I liked a shot called pink pu**y..

Whoa in that) and an oatmeal cookie shot (wont even think of that). I would only do shots of tequila and such.. after I had about 3 beers. I don't do wine. Anything brown...

So shrug... if you find something when you do go out that us "fruity mixed" girls would like, let me know. How did mac n cheese turn into drinks??? Damn Lu!..

I'm also in early post-op, so even thinking this is a no-no. However, in my low-carb past, I do know that cauliflower is a good substitute for mashed potatoes and goes good with cheese. Larger riced cauliflower with low-fat cheese and a low-carb cheese sauce might do the trick. Good luck!..

The quinoa, spinach and cheese was delicious. I might put spaghetti sauce over it next time and melt mozzarella and parmesan over the top! Or a cheese sauce would work as well!..

I love the mashed cauliflower, if you make it too mushy and don't drain it well it does get nasty. but if you do it just right most people I serve it to don't even know. Not one kid knew the difference. lol.

Spaghetti squash with some spaghetti sauce and cheese on top is good..

Also Don't know if you have in the states but here in costco they have smart pasta, still white but they use oat hulls for fibre, the fibre is better than whole wheat, and the taste is great...

Dreamfields carb controlled pasta is really quite good!.

Give it a try with a pat of butter, some cheese and skim milk. You can make your own way better than velvetta or Kraft with that powdered cheese crap!.

Laura..
