Got a quick question: Please tell me about your experience in Nutrisystem Australia? Hoping for any response. Another question on my mind: Just wanted to stop in, say hi and introduce myself. I just started today, looking forward to being around here a long time. Tips are always welcomed..

First day initial thoughts:.

1. Flatbread Pizza was really small compared to the box, but good.

2. Not much food, but I'm satisfied and can't say I'm hungry.

3. I think my 10 year old daughter is even more excited about me doing this than I am, she's choosing the daily foods.

4. Much more motivated and focused now that day one is under the belt.

I look forward to the wisdom, knowledge and humor from you guys..

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I got an anything. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably could assist you..

The pizza does seem small when you start. The key is adding vegies and spices..

Read all the posts on the board!.

Everyone is here to help you as you start this journey..

It does take long to see (and feel) the results, so stick with it..

Welcome, Tab!!.

Sounds like you're off to a good start with a great first day. Yeah, the portion sizes are shocking at first, but as you noted, if you stay on plan, hunger is not really an issue. If you get hungry - check that you did not allow too long between meals/snacks. I'm still amazed at how good this program is even after 4 months on it..

Hang out here. Go to W8book.com for a ticker. Listen up to some of the guys around here and read through the newbie/bellavitaboy/mens rulez threads. There's great stuff there! Feel free to ask questions. We've all got opinions..

Welcome tab. I also find that logging my food intake beneficial in "learning" portion control. Nutrisystem has a web-based journal as does "The Daily Plate"... and of course others...

Tab, welcome and here are some things that may help you..

Ignore the directions on any of those paper cup containers. Stick the contents in a pan, add water and other add ins (broccoli, vegs, protien, etc), bring to boil and then let simmer for about 20 mins and you will be a lot happier with results..

Read the food board and recipe board along with the recipe club to get ideas on how to cook different things, it really helps. Some of the members like Graylady have some excellent recipes..

Drink the water and dont complain about it. It would be like sitting around at a bar and drunks complaining about having to drink too much beer. Its just water so drink it..

Since your daughter is exicted about this, take here either with you to the gym or for walks, you wont regret it...

Welcome Tab...sounds like your doing great so far, keep up the good work and stay active on the boards..

I would suggest though that you stick to the plan exactly,100% as directed for the first few months. Dont get carried away with additions and recipes that has you moving your foods around. I think the key is to eat everything at the right times and the proper proportions...

I can't agree with the guys more. Eat the food, find what you like and keep the orders coming! Drink the water and try to get active, even if it is just a short walk around the block to start..

This program works if you stick with it!.

Started January 1 at 310 lbs.

March 29 at 282.5.

27.5 lbs gone and feeling better every day!..

Tab, I agree with Mulewhipper, don't worry about adding stuff to the meals for the first little while. Stick to the plan and drink all of the water. There is a reason why Nutrisystem has done what they have and it wasn't to make you want to add stuff that isn't there to the meal. I've lost 95 lbs by sticking to the plan and not adding stuff..

There are others here that will tell you the same thing and have lost more than I..

Stick to the plan!!!! Drink the water!!!.

And welcome to the men's room. Don't worry about leaving the seat up here...

I can't remember who on this site got me onto this, but the flatbread pizza is a much more substantial meal when you slice the bread in half. I know it sounds crazy, but there is a natural seam in the bread that you can split. Spread your contents (thinly) on the bread and you have 2 pizzas for the price of one. I always save my protein serving from morning snack and use it at dinner to put on turkey pepperoni (actually very healthy)...

I just started as well (back on 03/10) and I gotta say that it's very rare that I feel really hungry (never "starved") between meals on NS..

Once in a while when I do get hungry I grab a small bowl of lettuce and throw on some balsamic vinegar (both free foods) and I'm good to go..

And don't forget...Water, water and more water!.

At the top of your short list. BVB's tips are a great place to start and the rulez are just a great read. You don't have to follow the rulez but what's the fun in breaking them unless you know what they are?.

Drink your water, follow the plan, post (or at least read) often. Find a fat free dressing you like. Has anyone mentioned you should drink your water yet?..

Using the tips and recipes does not take you off plan, why else would they have a tab for it. It shows you ways to add your protein and vegetables to the Nutrisystem entre and stay 100% on plan. I choked a couple items down and thought I would never eat them again as I made them according to the directions. Reading the tips of what others do helped a TON. The first time I had the Fettuccini Alfredo and made by the package directions, I swore I would never eat again. Now I make it in a pan, add some cut up fresh broccoli, a few mushrooms, my protein of Tuna or Salmon, add a side salad and it's a very filling meal all 100% on plan with no deviations..

Stick to the plan but use the resources that are available, they are there for a reason...

Re: water - I've been doing the ol' "1/2 oz. per pound of body weight" thing for a while now. Which pretty much means a gallon of water more or less per day..

That's 8 of those 1/2 liter disposable water bottles per day. I don't like all the empty bottles, so usually I take 4 of them, refill them when empty, and down them again. My last bottle is with dinner, because if I drink too much water in the evening I have to get up for a 3AM trip to the bathroom..

It took me a week to get used to all the water, and during the day you can pretty much count on needing a bathroom every 45-60 minutes. There's nothing like the discomfort of not planning properly for those rest stops!..

One of the (many) problems I have is a food addiction. I'm quite sure I'm not the only one in here with the same struggles..

So, what I'm trying to adhere to now is the montra "eat to live, not live to eat.".

I'm trying to view my meals as Fuel for my body and nothing else..

IMHO if I was to take the protien from my morning snack and wait to have it till say...dinner with my pizza, I would think that would be robbing my body of much needed protien for the entire day. For me sticking to the plan is doing exactly what the meal planner asks for and when it says to have it...

I'm new here, but not new to eating or dieting. I would believe that results speak volumes. So for one person it may be sticking to the plan as it is spelled out and not to deviate. Another may be able to manage the program better depending on their needs, desires. If the results you want come than it's positive. Right now for me, being a lazy guy I just follow the plan.

Fairly simple. Most likely when my experience with this program grows I'll deviate some and go to the tips section more for understanding..

The comment made about splitting the pizza in two is a winner and one I'll be doing this evening. I'm already learning so much from you guys..

Right On, Tab! Good perspective. Everyone is different and viva that difference! The best thing to do as a newbie is to simply stick slavishly to the program for a while, then find out if any change-ups work for you as you gain experience with your body and the program..

Hey Tab,.

Welcome. I found my success to be spacing the meals appropriately apart. Although my wife says "are you eating again? The truth is "yes I am". That's because I want to be sure I get the protein in to curb my appetite. I find the snacks are just as important as the meals. Those little bags of mustard pretzels will carry me to dinner or to bed without the desire to cheat..

Great idea on the flatbread pizza...whoever came up with the idea. I split it this evening and added mushrooms and olives, was going to add some pineapple too but didn't have any handy. I did add a little extra pizza sauce to make it work a little better. It really did make a difference on how far it went and how it made me feel. Next time I won't microwave it though...it was a little soggy..

Great idea though...
