First off, Sandwich steak Medifast recipes Cinco De Mayo? Thanks in advance for any answer. My other question... I was true to my selected menu for the day, all protein with a bit of whole wheat bread stuffing, made with LF products, perhaps giving myself too much choice, but legal..

In the evening the craze to graze, caught me unawares. Visions of turkey sandwiches with mayo and cranberry sauce came flying in out of nowhere.. I did not extend my menu, but remained with the few choices I had made. Popsicles saved me....

I am guessing my calories were higher for the total day, but there were no binges on pies, or giblet gravy and coleslaw dressing, an old bizarre favorite, which I did crave..

I will be glad to get back to reguar Medifast food and may not try to recreate seasonal favorites at Christmas, as they have far more memory power than I realized..

I turned to OA Gratitude meetings twice today, stayed current with the GBS group and the Twelve Step Philosophy WLS group, did recumbent bicycle and listened to my Affirmation tapes. I also chatted with friends, connecting on their Medifast food experiences..

There was a big empty hole, where I was sure there had been adequate food, and the emptiness must be that of undealt with habitual patterns of compulsive overeating..

I am proud of my success only a few months post.

Surgery.

And I certainly learned a lot. With my mother in the hospital and me sick, I felt I did a good job, and am proud of the overall outcome! I am grateful that my expectations were not harsh and unreasonable!.

Thanks for those who stayed close to the boards today!..

Crazieme come back for a reread! Big girl trying and failing is exactly what we do. We taste and wait. That (TDay) is one of the hardest days of the year for regular ppl. I'm proud you had the moxie to even try that shitty food. FYI I'm a year out and still can't eat a lot of the things I see liitle girls here eat. It gets to me, but I remember telling my butcher to make my pouch small, and I beleive he did..

No shame, no blame. We learn and move on with progress in focus. Perfection is for saints and we ain'ts!!.

A few more lessons learned and shared would be appreciated. This isn't an honor roll and there is no dishonor to slips. Only secrets.....

I kinda failed in the opposite way, I forgot to eat. Go figure. I was baking all day and.

Running.

Around that it didnt even cross my mind to throw some in my own mouth. I was.

Drinking water.

Like crazy tho, thats a plus. I layed down around 8pm dizzy and exhausted. Took me like 10 mins to figure out why lol.

I've had a ton on my mind tho, Thanksgiving was just me and the Hubby (I cooked enuff for an army tho) My mother and I got in a fight but all the Medifast food still had to be cooked. I think a 23lb turkey was slightly too big for one regular person and a GBS person lol. Something about her saying the.

Surgery.

Was just for vanity then a phone call later just to yell at me threw me off. So much for a happy family holiday..

Great job to everyone that tried...even if you werent perfect. Enjoy your leftovers!! lol..

I think I did really well. I just wanted to enjoy a few tasty things, and we had a late dinner, so I made sure my morning and early afternoon was protein packed. When I prepared my dishes, I kept in mind preparing things that were both enjoyable to everyone else and also tolerable by me. I was determined to just ENJOY thanksgiving. By the time everyone showed up to enjoy all the Medifast food I cooked, I was ready to go. I had about a 1/4 cup serving of mashed potatoes and gravy (yukon gold with the skin on...mmmmmm!) about 1/4 cup of my creamed broccoli (this was very tolerable, but sort of fattening.

And then about 1/4 cup of cranberry sauce. For dinner instead of cooking a pie, I made baked apples with figs, cranberries and walnuts. Brown sugar,.

Cinnamon.

, nutmeg and water were added to that fruit mixture and baked until all was soft. I had a small spoonful of it with a small dollup of vanilla ice cream. So I didn't eat foods that were "good" as in healthy nutritious...but I ate foods that were good as in yummy and tolerable. I still made my protien goals and stayed within my daily calorie range so it was a-okay in my book. I enjoyed myself and ate yummy things and didn't get sick. I thought for sure I'd make myself sick on my first thanksgiving. I avoided the turkey for fear of it getting stuck, but I might try some tonight with the gravy...

Karamia, you are beautiful and at your age I'd be at least 50-50 Health and vanity..

Why the hell not? Ask your mother if she would rather you be unhealthy and be regarded as the "fat girl..." when you can be healthy and hot! maybe she's a little jealous? lol..

Karamia, sorry about your mom's comments. Take a deep breath and try to let the hurt go w/the exhale. If she doesn't get it - that's her issue. But, I know it hurts when your mom isn't in your corner..

Heck, w/o a little family drama the holidays would be so boring!!..

I think I did okay just not great I had a few small pieces of Dark turkey which is they only part I can eat without getting sick, a small spoon full of sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes, and squash and then some 24 hour fruit salad. so I had a small bite of everything I stayed away from the bread except the small bite of stuffing but it just seemed like I picked at stuff all day.. I really need to get back home so I do not have all of this Medifast food around me we do not.

Leave.

Until Sunday ugg...

I had a nice day. Ate some yummy stuff and moved the body, nice long walk. My plate:.

Didn't quite eat it all but it was yummy..

@crazie You can't rewind time, if it's still around give it away and start planning your next healthy meal. Too many years I let a bad meal become a bad day, week, month, year, years. No more. The only way we fail is if we stop trying ;).

@karamia It wouldn't be a holiday without a little family drama. You choose your pals... most of our family good or bad we are just stuck with LOL ;) like a birthmark or a wart. Enjoy your success. Hugs...

I had a small piece of turkey (white meat) & a small spoonfull of mashed potatoes with gravy. I had dinner at a good friend/coworkers house and got sick as a dog. I am not sure if it was the turkey or the potatoes but I had cramps and I felt like junk all night and for the most of today...

Our family met at Ponderosa for Thanksgiving lunch. Things have been so hectic we thought it was best for this year. I did pretty good. I put a spoonful of several things on my plate(dark turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, mexican meatloaf). I took a few small bites of everythings. I am 3 weeks out as of Wednesday and trying to learn how much it takes to fill my pouch comfortably.

I had a small amount of sugar cream pie...

Wow, I'm a little ashamed to admit that I comfortably filled my plate and ate about half. I felt guilty as my uncle cleared my plate and apologized for not being able to finish what I took. I had dark meat turkey and a liitle of everything. I came home with leftovers. I was even able to tolerate a sliver of pumpkin pie. (S/f).

Okay head, time to catch up with the body. On the positive side, I worked out with my Mom on Friday and feel like I've restored some balance to my weekend and I am 2 pounds down since last week in relentless pursuit of hitting 100 pounds lost. Yay!..

So grateful for my Thanksgiving dinner. Had a thin 1 oz. slice of turkey breast, tbs of SF cranberries (hubby made), tbs. apple waldorf salad and a tbs of mashed potatoes with gravy. It was heaven and I had no problems. Was originally worried that it would be too much but not so! Felt like Thanksgiving and I have a lot to be grateful for, including everyone on this site, my family, my friends, my surgeon and anyone I may have missed. The weather wasn't so bad either! Hugs everyone! Oh! I even had some SF pumpkin custard that my hubby made! He's turned out to be a real gem! MaryM..
