I was sore for maybe a week or so,,, day 2-7 I was on clear liquids only and day 7-20 full liquid,,,,.

I have guidlines from my dr.....

Didnt your dr give you a months worth of guidlines to follow.. of what you can and can not eat? You really have to be careful,,, I went yesterday for my 5 week ck up... dr states your opening from stomach to intestine is the size of a dime,,, you have to be careful you do not eat anything thatmay get stuck or you will be hospital bound.

I didnt eat the first 3 weeks or so... be careful and good luck..

Welcome back and congrats! Take it easy on yourself, you'll be sore for at least a week, but it should get better each day. Rest and give yourself time to heal. You'll probably be on liquids for at least a week, maybe 2, then you can move on to purees for another week or 2, then soft foods, etc.. you have to transition. Check with your surgeon or the materials you were given to see what their plan is for you. Get better soon!.

Hi Welcome to the losers side! I am 24 days post op and I still sore a little bit but was feeling ok after 1 week! For days 2-7 I could have clear liquids, SF popsicles! Do you have any papers from your Dr stating what you can and can't eat. Everyones plans are different!Good luck and hoping for a speedy recovery..

14 days post op here, and I still have discomfort on my left side.... seems a bit easier by the day, and more so once my physical strength started coming back. The pain issue is a very individual thing: some have been lucky to have very minimal pain, others (like me) have had issues.... personal pain levels, the amount of time and work the surgeon had to do inside, and so many other things are contributing factors. Just take it easy and slow and all will be fine. As for your eating, hopefully you got some guidelines from your doctor or an orientation with a nutritionist.

You'll do fine! And we're all here to cheer you on keep asking!.

Good luck !!!!.

Congrats on your.

Surgery.

Didn't your nutritionist give you an eating plan? My program was clear liquids for a week. Full liquids for two weeks, then soft/pureed foods for 4-6 weeks...

I was sore for about a week, but the worse of it was really over in about 5 days. That first week or so I was loving my vegetable broth, sugar free popsicles and protein shakes (when I was able to stomach them). I also ate some plain greek yogurt with protein powder mixed in or some SF Torani syrup to flavor it..

Try to walk as much as possible, it really helps with the gas pains and to loosen you up..

It goes by fast, the soreness will be a distant memory in a few weeks!.

Congratulations! You are going to love watching the scale numbers go down!..

Congratulations! Your experience will be different, but I quit taking the pain meds after 3-4 days; I preferred the pain to the taste of the nasty medicine! Listen to your doctor, and to your body. Sugar free jello and frozen pops were my best friends for a few weeks!..
