That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I bump into an good answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably can help you..

I did Atkins for a while and even though I did lose weight, I am very on-the-go so even though I'd cook my meals on, say, Sunday.. I'd lose interest in what I was eating by Wednesday and it just got unbearable! Plus, I'm fairly sure it isn't that healthy for you.....

I did Atkins back in 2003 and lost 50 lbs, from 298 to 248. Once I broke the dicipline though, I found I couldn't ever get back on track with it. Over the next 4 years I gained it all back. Since then I have been up and down from 275-300. I'm hoping that Nutrisystem will teach me a new way of eating; better portion control and healthier choices..

I was in the same boat.. I hated the fact that if I took one step in the wrong direction, it would set me back nearly a week of progression!..

I have followed South Beach and the Abs Fit Diet from Men's Health. Both worked just fine. The problem is me. I'm the one that didn't stick with it or keep up the lifestyle changes. Nutrisystem for me is just as effective, but they provide a lower-stress management of the diet (all the work is done for me except for keeping up with add-ons)..

It's also in line with my financial goals. I've enjoyed the convenience and have checked into other home delivery services for maintenance meals. OMG!!! I don't understand how you provide the quality of food that you do at the price that you do..

In short, the problem for me has never been the losing of weight, but the maintenance. What are your options for maintenance? Does Nutrisystem have a nice checkoff list for maintenance that incorporates your entrees and snacks?..

I've been on the program for 1 week. The food is doable..

Some items will never be ordered, but most are very good..

I think I can finally make it to goal this time...

I have been "chubby" since I turned 30 and before that I was always in decent shape. I have tried Jenny Craig but I was never happy with the way I was treated while in their center. I recently tried "Diet to Go" but the food, while decent tasting, just didnt have any variety. Also, there were times I wondered if it was really diet food since I didnt seem to lose any weight..

I am now trying Nutrisystem. I have to say that in the first few days I AM THRILLED with the food. Also, I had forgotten how good fruits and vegetables can be. My biggest problem is sweets........how I crave a good slice of chocolate cake or candy bar...the Nutrisystem dessert bars are quite good..especially the chocolate carmel..

I am a softball umpire..and my reason for wanting to losing weight....I refuse to waddle to home plate.....40 pounds here I come.....

Newbie here... Day 11.

Tried a few reducing diets over the years... I've got the gain-weight diet down pat lol ... all with pretty good success. Lost 50 with Weight-Watchers, lost 40 with Suzanne Somers, 25 with the Mediterranean Diet. Like boloboffin it's the maintenance that I have trouble with..

I think the Forums will make a difference. I was okay with the weekly meetings with Weight-Watchers during the losing of weight. Too much of a bother with the ongoing maintenance...

I tried Atkins in 2005 and went from 238 to 228 and kept it off for a year. Then I tried Southbeach and went from 228 to 214 and kept that off for a year. For those years of staying steady I used variations of both Atkins and Southbeach to keep the weight off. What I didn't like was all the meat. In 2007 I slowly moved to mostly vegetarian, but still wasn't losing the weight I needed to lose..

Last year (2008) I started the year with a lot of frustration over the lack of variety and the slow edging of the scale back up to 218. In late March I started NS. Kind of a last ditch effort and also motivated by threats of surgery for newly discovered sleep apnea. You can see from the chart what the right kind of motivation plus the right kind of diet will do. My first goal was 20 lbs to 198. When I reached that quickly and easily I reset the goal for another 20 lbs.

This is partly due to surgery last November and instructions to slow down the exercise I was doing..

What I like about Nutrisystem are the portion controls, easily prepared foods, variety, online boards, and success. I'm slowly switching off Nutrisystem foods and am at least holding my goal of 40 lbs lost. I think as the weather warms up and I can start walking regularly again, those 8lbs I want to lose will be gone..

This is a good program that works. I've recommended it to several people...

I selected other: lifestyle change, portion control, ease of use..

There are a lot of good and effective weight loss programs. The reason for failure is usually the person, not the program. I did well on other plans, the last being Weight Watchers in 2003. However, the success was limited because, instead of learning portion control and listening to my body when it was full (as opposed to stuffed), I was more interested in cheating the Points system, saving as many as possible through the week so I could eat pizza, cheeseburgers or other fast food on the weekend. When I started using Nutrisystem, I decided I would do the plan 100%. I have learned portion control as well as the proper food combinations.

I have not received an autodelivery in several months yet continue to lose unhealthy and unsightly fat because of the principles I have learned on Nutrisystem. I now know of at least 5 persons who have tried the program because of the continued success they have witnessed me achieve. And I have no doubts that I will reach my goal (12-14% body fat) and will be able to maintain it because of the lifestyle and mindset makeover that Nutrisystem has helped me attain...

I have to agree with you regarding Weight Watchers. It seems that every year or so they reformulate their program. I remember WW from about 20 years ago. They had a system where you would check off the number of carbs, proteins, veggies, fruit, and fat that you could eat for each meal. It was a quite regimented and I liked it. It worked for me.

Then they changed their program and I lost interest...

Before Nutrisystem I tried WW didn't like the program because I wanted to be free of meetings and weigh-ins I wanted to do it on my own time..

Jenny Craig too expensive (period).

Slim Fast gave me a roller-coaster of a tummy.

Besides all of the above I never once saw anyone in the "REAL" until NS.

I saw a friend that had been a little overweight. I ask her what she had done and she told me NS....I told her she look great. I went home and researched Nutrisystem liked what I read and here I am today 68 lbs lighter and happy as can be. Nutrisystem has taught me so much and would recommend this program in a heartbeat..

Have a good evening..

I tried SlimFast for a while in my early 30's - twice as a matter of fact - but there was no inherent learning in their program. I only lost 20-30 lbs each time and each time, it came roaring back..

With NutriSystem, I've lost 142.6 lbs in a little over 2 years (less than three pounds to go till my original goal of 220!) and I know I can keep it off!..

Let's see.... Like most who have been around the block a while, I've yo-yo'd for a long time..

In 1987, starting at 240 lbs, I lost 50 lbs with liquid protein (YUK!) diet and exercise.

In 1990, starting at 270 lbs, I lost 38 lbs with a DIY Optifast-type of protein-sparing fast (Protein drinks were much improved by then)..

In 1991, starting at 260 lbs, I lost 30 lbs by protein sparing fast and exercise..

Did Atkins for a while, and found that while it can work, it can be defeated by massive amounts of fatty meat. Trust me. I know. Eating 5-10 lbs per day of steak, bacon, and BBQ chicken legs does not work..

Since then, I've mostly eaten just once a day, but was over 300 lbs in 2007..

I've also learned that not eating all day, then gorging at night does not work..

Started Nutrisystem a little over 2 months ago with my wife. I think this is IT. I'm down over 30 lbs and I really like the food. As long as I keep eating on schedule, I don't get hungry. I've had no adverse reactions from day 1. I can't believe those portions work for me! Talk about a mindset makeover!! I was a 3-whopper or 2 steak kind of guy..

The biggest thing, though, is my wife. She's Type II diabetic and since starting NS, her morning blood sugars have been in the 90's every day! I really wish the medical community could get behind Nutrisystem for Type II. It's nothing short of miraculous..

I am highly impressed by the formulations of the food and how good it is. High protein, high fiber, and (mostly) great taste..

NS makes it easy and satisfying, with lots of variety. That's what I needed. Nutrisystem is making my sweetheart healthy and that's what I really need. Thanks NS!.
