Got a question, hope someone can answer... Weight Watchers or The Medifast Diet? Thanks for any comment. 2nd question I got is.. I'm not sure how to find any Jewish Medifast-ers. I know I saw some posts around the High Holy Days, but don't remember how I found 'em !. |

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I discover an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you an answer..

I just received an answer from the support people at MF, that you can try to have 3 lean and green meals per day using 4-5 oz of protein and 3 veggie servings, at each meal. She recommended also having one low fat dairy item as well. Obviously all of the good things on Passover are full of carbs and I won't be able to rely on the ready made packages to get through the holiday....
I am going to try to plan out my meals way ahead of time and pre-package them so that they will be "almost" like having the Medifast packets ready each day... |

I'm not Jewish but there are one or two threads I think in Medifast Connection. One goes into what to do for the holidays...

Yeah... if you have a copy of Dr. A's then I heard the best idea (and what I'll likely be doing) is to simply follow chapter 8..
Just remember that faithfulness is blessed by G-d, so I'm quite sure He will not abandon us to our temptations for our faithfulness in fulfilling His commands!!.. |

I followed Maintenance Last year & it worked!.
Really maintenance includes grains & fruit...so having a little matza here n there didnt hurt. I DID NOT GAIN ANY WEIGHT!. If you still want to try to lose... The Nutrition Support gals said to omit the fruit... & that you can split your lean & greens up into smaller meals;. I did this by eating egg white omelet for breakfast-mushrooms & spinach. Mid morning either more eggs or yogurt. Lunch fish buffet salads etc. Mid afternoon small piece of chicken. Dinner other half of chicken salad etc. THIS CAN WORK!!!! KEEP YOUR FOCUS. Good Luck to all of us.... |

Good to know! I am not all that observant but I would like to be able to partake (somewhat) in the Seder. A little matzo won't hurt, will it?..

Dear Jewish friends - have a blessed Passover.
Wishing you all OP holy days ~.. |

I managed to enjoy relatively normal Seder meals and keep within acceptable caloric, carb, and fat ranges. Yay!.
Chag pesach!.. |

Hi, I am new to Medifast and searched under Jewish to see what popped up. Hoping to meet others with similar interests/needs..
I had no problem with Shabbat at all. I think most holidays will be OK.. I may even be able to get through Yom Kippur this all with liquids only.. (I am not even going to risk fasting as I have already had bad low blood sugar episodes when I don't eat a Medifast b-fast on time). I can see where Passover would be especially challenging. I can't imagine NOT having Matzah slathered in butter and sprinkled with salt. Everything is made with Matzah. My kugel is made with matzah, my stuffing is made with matzah. Oy gevalt! How did you survive?. I hope I lose enough weight before Passover to not have to even think about it.. I can only imagine I would go way-way-way OP for 8 days! LOL!. I also found a Jewish Medifast group and subscribed to that thread as well.. Let me know how you did on Passover.. Any good tips for a newbie?.. |
