First question I got is What are some good hamburger/cheeseburger Medifast recipes? Many thanks for any comment. 2nd question I got is.. Hi there.

I am new to this board and I am hoping someone can relate to this.....

Before getting approved I had two denials and literally two days before my denial was overturned I was telling my surgeon I am nearly ready to give up but I will still go through the motions. It takes a toll to keep fighting these insurance companies..

I thought the day I got the approval I would be excited and thrilled and elated..etc.. and stay that way till the.

Surgery.

Was done. WELL, when I got the news (last week) that my denial was overturned I was excited, thrilled, and elated........now that I have an actual.

Surgery.

Date Dec. 6 at 7:30 a.m., I am TERRIFIED....... I don't know why.. I have wanted this for a long while....why can't I stop myself from feeling this fear? There is underlying excitment but I have to be honest my fear is strong fear of death (my surgeon has never had one -so that is somewhat comforting).....fear of leaving my little boy behind.........fear of pain, fear.........

Has anyway felt this way?.

I am on the liquid protein Medifast diet about 300 calories per day and I am not hungry at all and I think it is because I am so stressed.....

This.

Surgery.

Is not a walk in the park. And there are a lot of risks that can occur with any type of.

Surgery.

I personally feel that what you are going through is normal. We are volunteering ourselves to be put through this. Like you Im a mother first and foremost and I wasnt too worried about the.

Surgery.

Itself but about leaving my son behind. The only thing that kept me "in check" so to speak was him. I had this.

Surgery.

For my health but to be around for him. What kind of life was I giving my 4 yr old, the habits I was instilling by following the life I was?.

We take risks every single day. From the moment we step foot outside our door. You have to trust yourself, your surgeon and medical staff (I put together a list of questions and not once did my surgeon hesitate to answer anything), and honestly be open to taking a leap of.

Faith.

I personally feel you have done the hard part- -committing to your life and your health. The.

Surgery.

Is just the tool to aid you in your process. Stay true to yourself and adhere to the guidelines on your program and you should do great..

Pray and have.

Faith.

..

Best wishes...

HI Jen!.

I agree , fear is normal and this is not an easy.

Surgery.

, in the sense of what you go through mentally and physically to prepare for it. Having said that, I'd be more concerned if you didn't have some kind of fear or concern. Says you are understanding the changes, and challenges you are putting yourself through..

Now, my best advice...don't think too far ahead. Up to this point you've worked it step, by step, dealing with delays, denials, medical exams, and now the liquid protein diet. This is another step..keeping emotions in check, continuing to prepare, and ultimately trusting the doctors/nurses to get you through the.

Surgery.

, and prepared enough, then, to go home and continue on with the rest of the process..

You will do fine. As the weight comes off, and you begin to be more active, along with recovering from.

Surgery.

, which is tough, no matter that it's laproscopic... you will become more excited then..

Hang in there, and keep posting..

Cindy..

Congratulations on your approval and on choosing a healthier life..

Surgery.

Is daunting and this is major.

Surgery.

We each find our own process and means to deal with the fear..

My surgical team called the analysis about whether to have the.

Surgery.

A "risk/reward" equation. That is, was the risk worth the reward? If you can do that math in good conscience and knowing the answer is yes, then the scariness (for me, at least) seemed to be less important. It just 'was'; the real concern was my health and fear had to get behind that..

This is in no way meant to diminish your concerns or fears; I advocate.

Listening.

To our inner voices [but making sure our inner voices are informed ones, :)]..

You ALWAYS have the right to do this or not to do this. External approval is one thing. Your approval is quite another..

Good luck to you...

Some feelings about.

Surgery.

Run on the surfce, and can be hot or cold. But we are also dealing with the person inside, who would just as soon move on as if nothing were amiss. Why shake things up?.

Sometimes our feelings are about what they are about, and sometimes there is another, less obvious agenda. Eating is a multifaceted behavior, and fear can serve the purpose of keeping us from doing anything that will deny us the Medifast food we crave..

Keep your goal in focus and "pay no attention to that [wo]man behind the curtain," who may pull some levers that keep us mired in fear, self doubt and failure. You will succeed with serenity, courage, and wisdom. You are already making the best decision for your future and your health!..

I have my.

Surgery.

On the same day as you ! I too am a mother and grandmother, I too worry about leaving those I love behind, but my.

Faith.

In God, prayers, and believing that my life has taken this turn because it is in God's plan helps. Fear of the unknown is a normal reaction. My surgeon said he would be concerned about me if I wasn't anxious. I have had several surgeries and each one has fear accompaning it. I will pray for you, you pray for me and we will be ok and be sitting on the losers bench in no time !..
