Hi Msveee, Welcome to the group!.

Lost hair... happened to me month 4-6, I had really thick hair but it was pretty nerve racking. Get those protein grams up as quickly as possible to minimize the damage. The shampoos are expensive and really just thicken what you have. Talk to your Dr about biotin which helps with regrowth (but be aware it grows hair everywhere if you know what I mean, make those waxing appointments).

Protein and water... you don't get it all in at first... every day you need to push yourself to do better than the last till you are meeting or exceeding your Dr's recommended levels. It took me about 8 weeks to get there on a consistent level... you'll have a bad day every once and awhile but most days by month 2 or so you should be hitting the goal grams and ounces..

I choose to supplement protein grams from Medifast food with a protein shake most days... it's a quick & easy way to get a grip of grams with a lower amount of calories/carbs. I found a shake I really enjoy so it's something I look forward too..

Best wishes in your.

Good questions! You have to sip water, pretty much all day long to stay hydrated. You will get used to it..

As far as protein goes, when you are just on liquids for the first few weeks you need to do at least 3 shakes a day. YOu will be able to get them down. I found I had the most difficulty when I first started eating Medifast food b/c it is hard to find things that contain enough protein..

In terms of hair loss, you need to take Biotin! I started taking it immediately after.

Surgery.

! This will definitely help!.

Good luck to you!!..

I lost quite a bit of hair when I was on Atkins a few years ago, too...so I guess I was doubly doomed combining.

With weight loss!.

Im a little over 9 months out from.

Now and the shedding has dramatically slowed. Fortunately for me, I had very thick hair to start with. So, I dont have any bald spots, but I did change my hairstyle to a one length bob. I dont go curly anymore, either. It looks thickest straightened and one length..

Was still worth it, even if Id gone bald!!.

I lost a lot of hair too but I have really thick hair, so it doesn't look that bad thinned out (easier for me to straighten now). Your hair is made of protein, so you have to do all you can to get your protein in and that is why mine fell out... wasn't getting it in. I took the Biotin for months, but it did not help me, but I heard it has helped others. I carry a water bottle with me every where and just sip on it all day long. It is not easy and still is not easy for me being 36 weeks out getting everything in. I will be honest, for me (still is) hard getting all the vitamins that I am suppossed to in, on top of the protein...
