-60 has been my goal for 2011 and I hope to reach it by summer or in summer or even in Fall if that is what it takes but I will reach -60 more lbs gone forever in 2011!. I reached -40 lbs gone forever in 2010 not quite the -50 I hoped for but still I am happy!. So -40 plus -60 will be -100 lbs gone forever! Jodi.. |

I'm in as well. I am 8.5 weeks into Medifast and 33 down. Have 77 or so to go. 60 by summer is very doable! Happy to hang with the rest of you =)..

Yep I'm game. I'd like to be somewhat close to my final goal by my birthday in July. Today ended week 6 for me on Medifast and I've lost 21 pounds so far. So 60 by summer....let's do this! :-D..

Down 60 by summer has always been my goal, this is perfect! I just want to be able to wear shorts and enjoy myself this summer. I don't want to be the fat girl at the park in capri's sweating her butt off anymore...

WOOT WOOT super excited to see so many joining. So the T-Shirt contest rules for those that want to compete.
1. You must diary your diet progress at least once a week. This can be a blog on the medifast site, your own site or preferably a youtube video. The content could be whatever you like. Some ides are what you ate, your challenges you ran into for the week or something good that happened.. 2. Post your weigh in at the beginning and end of the month to this thread. We will go by % of weight lost vs the number to make it the most fair.. 3. Be honest. Obviously there is no way to police this so we will just use the honor system. I trust you.. 4. You can only win 1 month.. You can jump in on the first day of any month you like but the official 1st weigh in will be Jan 1 2011 and final weight in is Sept 21 2011 (the last day of Summer). So post those weights on Jan 1 and then again on Jan 31 and so on.. I hope all this makes sense? If you have any questions please let me know. Shirts are available in 3x 4x 5x and 6x so please specify size. We will have some smaller sizes available by summer if you want to wait for those to roll out that is fine. THERE IS NO COST. I would love to be a part of the 60 by Summer challenge. I am restarting the program on Jan 3rd. My goal is to be happy and healthy this summer and for the rest of my life. I would love to be able to get dressed without worrying about how big my butt or stomach looks in what I'm wearing. I want to. Comfortable in my own skin!!! I think I'd like to join too. I'm not sure if losisng 60 is still right for me. I'm really starting to sag at a 47 lb. loss. I do lose very slowly. My original goal was to lose 50. I would like to learn to still lose on slight transition before maintaining...

So I realized if we are officially starting the challenge Jan 1st, does that mean we have to lose 60 after that? I was thinking 60 from the time I started but my new ticker will say I only have 40-some to go..

Unfortunately they seem to have an obsession with 4 images. You can't use more than 4 smilies in a post either!! I tested the sig thing and couldn't add the group banner here without giving up one of the others. I'm just going to let the ticker and my text be my sign of participation.
Prolly a good thing. I've seen boards where it takes forever to read because the number of sig banners caused you to see 1 post per screen haha... |

I wanna play too! Right this second I weigh too freaking much. I had a rough day yesterday. I just did not want to eat any freaking more meat. So I had too much vegetables, and too much pickles. I am afraid I will have a gain on my weigh in day tomorrow because of all the salt.. I am going to weigh myself for this challenge, I'll be right back. OK, I'm back, right this minute I weigh 266.2 lbs. I always weigh myself in my birthday suit, now here are my excuses; in addition to the salt, I also just had a bunch of water, and some hot cocoa, and I have not gone #2 for awhile, and my pony tail holder is. Very. Heavy.. So,. My 1/1/11 weight is 266.2. .. I'm excited about this, and look forward to getting more sagging skin, and smaller curd in my cottage cheese thighs with you all... |

Posted my VLog installment #2 just before I went out on NYE. Did great. Stayed 100% OP even under extreme peer pressure to join in drinking! Made it through the last three days with lots of the extended family around and multiple parties..
I think I am retaining water. Lost more inches for sure. Pants I bought just three weeks ago are falling off me. If I go by what the scale said this morning my start weight for 1/1/11 is actually up by three pounds. Pfffff! I was at 208 even though I was just 205 the day prior. I'll weigh again tomorrow and see if is just a fluke... |

Managed to stay OP through xmas and new years eve. I want to lose this weight so badly and I'm soo stoked by how much I'm losing each week. I've never had something work this consistently for this long. I've added the little stat thingy to the bottom of my VERY long signature to track this challenge... Official weigh in (taken today since Sunday is my weigh in day) is 201.4... Happy Happy to everyone!!!..

You are welcome and thanks again for organizing the challenge! FK - role models are human and sometimes we can learn more from the ones that make mistakes and talk about them then the ones who are always the rah rah rah cheerleaders that think they can only post the good!!!.
As far as anyone going off plan that didn't want to this weekend I just want to suggest the Beck Workbook again. You can find it on amazon.com. Even if you don't join the Beck group here (my participation has been minimal) It is a really good read and helps you build some skills to add to the arsenal you may not have tried in the past. It gets you to start to address that little battle we have in our heads deciding to stay on plan or go off plan. It also made me realize that while I am an expert in yo-yo dieting I was not an expert in all the lifetime cognitive skills it takes to keep the weight off. I downloaded the cd as well but the workbook is even better... |

Me too! I had to go pick a ring up from the jewelry and we passed 3 Mexican restaurants (my fav food) and my wife was saying lets stop there and we can share something. BAD WIFE! I stopped at McDs got her a hamburger and just kept sippin on the watter. YAY me.

I regret to say, by the way, that I won't be able to enjoy the vlogs. I have a significant hearing loss in the severe-profound range and just won't be able to hear them well enough. I do read lips, but it is much, much tougher in 2D than with a real person. Not surprisingly, I won't be doing them either, but I'll blog...

Hi everyone, I'm excited about doing this challenge. My loss has been slower than I'd have liked so far but I'm not too unhappy since I'm down 2 sizes and can wear my engagement ring again, which I haven't worn for the last 10 years! I've been a little bad over the holidays, OP a little but not really excessive calorie wise since I've found I can't each as much as I used to any more. I won't be doing the VLOG's as my dial-up internet is slow as a tortoise but will blog (a new experience for me). Official Jan 1 weight is as below. I will be thrilled to pieces when I get past these next 3 pounds!!. FYI, I'm leaving my ticker countdown to 60 from when I joined and first reported my weight, since I'm also using it for my Spring challenge ticker as well. So it'll be a tiny bit off for the monthly challenge. I'm a slow loser, so I don't expect to win any of the monthly challenges anyway :P Not that I'm letting that stop me from trying. Hello Humans- I have not checked this in a couple of days, so I missed the Jan 1st weigh in. But I weigh in and record it every freaking day, if I don't use the scale I loose the scale. So I am gonna go check my log and see.... On Jan 1st I weighed 282.4. I blog pretty consistently already, so I have that covered. 60 by Sept 1 is exceptionally doable.

I just got my first shipment today. I'm kinda new and just found this thread. In our "weigh in" day Saturday, since it looks like the first weigh-in was on 1/1? What is this about winning a T-shirt? I expect to do well and stay 100% OP, but I doubt if I'll see a 13+ pound loss in one week! Whew!..

Well, I weigh in on Tuesdays, and I'm down 1.8 this week.
That would be since we started on 12/30 or 31, since I held steady for most of this last week, and only dropped over the weekend! Oi, so close to Onederland!! But I hope that this upcoming week will see me there. I am back to being a daily weigher until it happens!. FindingFitness - if this is your first week, and you have not been dieting/watching your intake, particularly water, then don't be surprised if you do have a big first week. It's mostly water weight since most people don't pound the water like you are encouraged to do on this plan (MF says 60oz, most of the big losers around here will say 1/2 your body weight in oz). But it's darn nice to start this plan with a big, motivating first week. Mine was only 6.6, but hey, that's several pounds higher than I've typically lost at any other point while dieting pre-MF!.. |

Hi FF and welcome. You can weigh in any time you like but to compete for the T-shirt you need to weigh in sometime within the first couple days of the month and you must weigh in on the last day of the month, as well as, blog or video log at least once a week. Whoever has the largest % of weight loss for each month gets a FatKings T-shirt. It is just an incentive to make things fun and a bit competative but you don't have to play to be in 60 by Summer..

Claimed. To have restarted Medifast on Dec 28, yesterday was my first day 100% OP. I didn't necessarily eat off-plan the other days; I just had a really difficult time getting all my meals in. {I was only eating one Medifast meal per day plus my L&G!}. With that being said, I have somewhat of a dilemma. I went out to dinner with my dad tonight. I ate. What I thought. Was OP: grilled tilapia and steamed broccoli. The meal came with rice, so I just asked for extra broccoli instead. When I got home, I checked the restaurant's website only to find that the amount of carbs in the extra broccoli will put me slightly over the 100g carbs per day limit.. If I. Don't. Eat my last meal of the day {which I still haven't had}, my carb intake for the day will only be 86g. So my question is:. SHOULD I OR SHOULD I NOT EAT MY LAST MEAL?. I mean, is it better to eat it or skip it? Right now, I'm thinking. Skip. It... Especially considering how late it is. Any {timely} input would be appreciated... |

If you had asked NS, they would tell you to eat that last meal regardless. If you didn't, and you are currently struggling to get all of your meals in, you will be doing yourself a favor to make sure you get them 5 in. We're doing a low cal diet, and it is not recommended to go under the 800 cal mark on a regular basis, or it can put your body into starvation mode type stall..
For all the new starters, I really commend weighing your food if you aren't already. Remember that it's cooked weight. Meat and veg can really shrink a lot. There's also a veg by weight chart if you don't have that already too, that makes it much easier to know what's a serving. I found that I was really shorting myself on meals before I started weighing everything... |

Hope everyone is doing good.....I am really struggling with my hunger!!! Most of it (probably 95%) is boredom!!! Any suggestions for boredom hunger? I am at work....not at home!! At home - never a problem with hunger...but at work - forget about it!!! Boredom = Eating!!!.

This is my first week....I haven't been 100% (sad to actually admit that!)....but I am getting better! The first few days are the hardest...I do agree!.

Three days on plan for me and I weighed myself today...and I lost 5 pounds already...I am so excited...this is so easy....sure the first day or two of headaches sucked...but the chicken boullion helped that alot...but boy this plan works...can hardly wait to see what a full week weight loss total is around here....woohoo..
