I think it is very normal to be afraid. Each person is different and has different disease processes before.

Surgery.

That can add to or subtract from the risk. I think if you did what you could before.

Surgery.

To try and get the weight off then be positive about the choice. I tried several programs and none with success. Just remember it is a life changing event. I am very happy now that I had the.

Do you know how much our lives are going to change? For the better!?!?!..

I was as afraid as anyone I have seen here. My steps were:.

1. Breaking the process into chunks and visualizing them. I got a tour of the waiting room, videos of the pre-op room and recovery room. I visualized each step before I got there..

2. KNOW that the danger is not the.

Surgery.

, but in being cared for and caring for yourself after.

Surgery.

When I thought about it this way, I had to give up control to my very experienced surgeon and then myself. As a control freak, I took great solace in this, lol..

3. I read the stats and remembered, my odds of incident on the way to the hospital were higher than in it..

4. I pestered the surgeon, the clinic and everyone I knew who had had the.

Surgery.

To talk me off the ledge..

5. Give yourself the gift of peace. For me, this meant not allowing myself to waiver, knowing and saying: this was the best decision for me and I will be fine. Every time a negative thought entered my head, I sent it out again..

6. Keep your eye on the prize: a much healthier you..

I read EVERYTHING. Don't do that. Find.

Books.

About gentle healing, kind regard, peace and.

Acceptance.

Read everything you can about finding peace and getting rid of anxiety..

Finally, from my therapist: picture yourself as your healthiest self. Know that the choices you are making to get there are good ones..

And, yes,.

Surgery.

And anesthetic have inherent risks. In my house, we did a risk reward analysis and then tried to move on to positive thoughts about the situation, not the potential. Listen to your inner voice and gut feeling, not your fear, and allow yourself to make the best decision for you and your family. Allow yourself the opportunity to postpone if that is something you need and which your inner voice is commanding. In my case, fear, not my gut feeling was driving me. And.

Best of luck to you..

Surgery.

Is on the 15th. And for the first time since I made this decision for a healthier life.... I am having some real stressed out moments. I think what we are going through is total normal.... Fear has a way of making good things seem bad. What has really worked for me....

Really stop and take a few deep breathes. Refocus on how excited you were to make the choice for the.

Surgery.

... remember all the "wow moments" you are looking forward to having after.

Surgery.

I know in my heart this is the right choice for me & no matter how may "whatifs" come in my head..... I am doing this for a healthier better me. Also, I know that when I put it in God's hands..... all things are possible. So breathe, remember, relax and have.

Faith.

Keep in touch and see you on the loser's bench!.
