Got a question... What is the difference between Phentermine and Medifast? Thanks in advance for any comment. My other question... New Year Meltdown Challenge.

Hey Dreamers! This is it! Time to kick it up a notch. Time to commit for the next six weeks. Time to make it through the Holidays without the "holiday weight gain." We are winners and we will continue to stay OP, drink our water, and lose those unwanted lbs forever..

So what is your goal? Short term? Long term? Can you accept a hand of help and give one in return? It's going to take a little bit of both to get through the next six weeks. I did it last year and you can do it this year. There are temptations, but recognize now that those temptations will be there every year, sometimes every day. Let's work through it together. We are stronger as a team. We won't let our teammates down, but most of all we won't let ourselves down.

We can do it. We are worth it...

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I discover an good answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you help..

Hi Pam! Looks like as a vet of the challenges, you had the easiest time finding your way here. I imagine we will have a lot of Monday weighers which is consistent with when most people start a program..

Sounds like you have Christmas worked out really well. Your 15 lb challenge goal is really reasonable and makes those 14's easily within reach..

I'll be checking in all day. Any other Sunday weighers? There are some where around 17-19 members, so a lot of weigh-ins still due. Pm me if you can't find the weigh-in thread..

Initial Weigh-in Thread Here..

Good afternoon Dreamers! I will be weighing in tomorrow. Trying my hardest to drink AT LEAST all of my water today, as I have noticed my Monday weigh-ins tend to read higher due to not enough water over the weekend..

Chick, can you please either re-post the banner code or direct me where to get it? I would love to add it to my signature!.

Will check in later and/or tomorrow. Excited to start the challenge!!!..

Hi Dreamers! Today is a busy one here as we are having our Christmas dinner & gift exchange for the grandchildren (no gift exchange among the adults). I am taking along a green salad & veggie tray. There will be a spiral ham and turkey breast, I'll have the turkey (of course). It will be difficult to ignore how wonderful it would be to partake of the rest of the delicious mealbut I'm only 11# from goal weight and I'm not going off program now. Next year I will have small servings of whatever I want, this year I still have a job to finish (getting those 11# off)..

Weight this morning was 158#. I got rid of the new scale, I did not really need a new scale and the old scale weighed a 10# bag of sugar accurately where the new one was off 4 oz or so. It was a $60 scale, so good to have the decision made and get the refund..

Guess that is it from here right now..

Hope everyone is having a great weekend...

Afternoon Dreamers!.

A quite Sunday afternoon at home. Hubby and DD13 are gone. He had to make a run down south, so she went with him. They're stopping in San Antonio, going to hit the river walk tomorrow night. Slept in the morning, so did my exercise after church, went to the tanning bed, then was going to make fudge. Guess what I forgot to buy???? Chocolate chips.

Yep, making fudge and toffee. Maybe cookies. Depends on how tired I am. Don't anticipate it being a temptation. When you're sore from working out, it's a constant reminder of why you're doing what your doing..

I've got a few more gifts to get. Hopefully, I'll get them tonight or tomorrow. Tues at the latest, cuz we won't be home after that. Wednesday at my family, Thurs at his. My family will have stuff I can eat, his we're eating out, don't know where though..

Chick - sorry to hear about Bella. Hope it's nothing serious. I keep holding my breath where Roxie is concerned. I know it's gonna happen soon..

Thanks for the reminder on putting up the banner code. I meant to do that on the first post. That lack of editing of the posts is really getting to me. Anywho... here goes. Working on a challenge one, so you can wear one or both or none, but at least you will have options:.

Dream Team Banner.

Be sure to remove the three ***'s before the IMG when you post it in your signature. Need help, just ask away...

Hi Dreamers:.

Just dropping in really quick to say hi. We were out and about today and this evening will be spent helping DS with a project..

Chick - I'll be weighing in tomorrow morning..

Christmas shouldn't be too bad. Spending with my in-laws in Green Bay. They're having a nice dinner with prime rib and seafood (shrimp, crab, oysters) - yum! I'm going to bring a nice green salad to contribute to the meal. They're a starchy (potatoes, pasta, etc.) type of crowd..

My goal for this challenge is to meet my overall goal which is around 15 lbs. away. I borrowed the "Slim in Six" DVDs and trying the "Start it up" workout. It's going to be good and I think I'll be investing in my own copy. It's going to be challenging - I keep on hearing that the last 10 lbs are the toughest to get off..

I'm excited because I made an appointment with my dressmaker for my ball costume. For those who don't know, I belong to an organization that holds a masquerade ball every year in February and I want to have my dream dress made (a picture of it is posted on MyPage). I looked forward to seeing how my measurements have changed. I really don't know how to measure myself well..

Long-term goal - well, of course to keep it off. After I reach goal I'm definitely sticking around these boards through trainsition and maintenance. I need the support big time..

Renee - I love SA riverwalk. I bet it looks nice at Christmas time..

Take care everyone - see you tomorrow...

Hi Dreamers -.

I had a great day today with my in-laws. I'm a little bummed because it is chilly here in Florida. I was looking forward to some nice warm weather. Today was not an easy day on MF. I'm going to weigh in tomorrow. I already know I am up on the scale, but I am going to get control of it. Hope you all had a great weekend!..

Hi Dreamers.

I too will weigh in tomorrow morning. I am not worried about the temptation so much as I am the inability to workout like I normally do. I will have to use videos instead of my C25K runs on the treadmill since I will be in Chicago (too cold to run outside) for the holidays but I will do what I can. Excited for the challenge. This is the first Christmas DD is old enough to really get into "unwrapping" gifts, she's so animated. Anyways have a great OP week and very safe travels to everyone. I will check in tomorrow...

Can I join your challenge team? I am a regular on the Pinups but it does not look like we will have the necessary 8 members for this challenge!.

Today's starting weight is 191.2.

My goal for challenge is 15 lbs which will leave me with only 1.2 lbs till goal (which may change as I get closer).

Hope you have room for one more...

Hi alinamatata326! Sorry I am on west coast time and not the earliest of risers, so I maybe missed your post or haven't gotten that far yet..

Sure you can join. When it comes to the challenge no one should miss out!.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, so we can get to know you. I didn't see a name in your signature, do you have a nickname or favorite you would like us to call you?.

Ok, I figured out I goofed on the weigh-in thread. I should have linked to the chat thread and I sent it full circle back to the weigh-in thread. Now that you can't edit, my guilt will be there all week. Oh well, I'll go back and link to the chat thread now so no one has to search like alinamatata326 did..

Got the vet appointment this morning and some challenge maintenance stuff, plus the banner to work on, so BBL...

Hey guys this is Lissy! I've redirected her to the chat thread, but didn't want her to have to repost it all, so say hello. We have been pming so finally getting into the thread for an introduction..

Lissy you did post your weight ticker correctly.... however, it is not in your signature, it is in your post. So to help you and others, here is what you do..

Go to the top of this page and look for the orange bar. The section says "Quick Links". Click on it and the drop down menu has a section for "Edit Signature". A new window will open where you can type in your name, add you ticker, add banners, or track your challenge progress as you will see on other people's posts. You type what you want or copy and paste, click on preview and you will have two windows open. The top on is the preview, how it will look in your post.

When you are happy with it, click on save. Post a test here or just jump on the thread to say hi and you will see that every post has the same ending. Give it a try. Any problems just ask, we'll get you going..

Gotta run for now...

Hi Dreamers! I have been MIA since October and it shows. Honestly, I have been in denial about my eating and purposely staying away from the scale until I had to weigh in this morning and YIKES!! Back up to 175, didn't think it was going to be that much because I am still fitting into my same clothes, although they don't fit as nicely as they did. so I did it to myself and as for most of you, the next 2 weeks are going to be very challenging, I have family in town at my house and that makes it worse. But I figure, at least the challenge will help keep me on track. I had a fleeting thought of skipping the challenge this time but when I stepped on the scale and had the shock of my weight gain, I didn't want to be back up to where I started by the end of the holidays. I think I am also going to need the support to get back going again. Good luck to all and it's good to be back!..

Hi everyone! I hope you'll still let me be part of the team since I have been MIA for a few weeks on the chat thread (hangs head in shame). I posted my weight on the weigh-in thread, figuring you were a great bunch of forgiving ladies!.

My husband has been selling Christmas Trees at his business this year because nobody else in our small town was doing it. I'm happy to report it has been a great success for our family's business, but hard since he has been working 8 am to 9 pm 7 days a week while I have been on constant toddler duty! I will be happy when he can come home and help in the evenings after this week is over!.

I am only 5.5 pounds away from my initial goal weight I set of 130 pounds. I am thinking of revising that to 125. I know this is silly, but whenever I was heavy and invisioned myself being thin, I always wanted to weigh 125. That seemed to be the magic number in my head. I set 130 when I first started, I think, because frankly I couldn't imagine ever reaching 130 pounds. If I'm going to be completely honest with you (and myself), I am also scared to death of transitioning.

I have learned a lot about my eating habits and myself on my Medifast journey, so I think that will definitely help. Still terrified though! I am already thinking about pizza and then get upset with myself. However, I also keep reminding myself that I can eat it occasionally, it just has to be in moderation. It's not realistic to think I can just keep eating Medifast bars forever, although that is tempting!.

I am hoping to ramp up my exercise again as that has been sorely lacking as well in the past few weeks. I am getting a gym membership for Christmas to the small little gym in our town. Very inexpensive compared to the gym's in Columbus - not the prettiest to look at, but it'll get the job done. I am excited about that and hoping to join the rush of new people exercising after the 1st of the year. I just hope I'll stick with it. They do have zumba on Wednesday's so I am super excited about that since it's my favorite..

Hope all of you are doing well! Here's to a great and successful challenge for the Dream Team!!!!..

Good morning Dreamers! Welcome to those just joining us!!.

We had our family Christmas, meal/children's gifts, last night. I did not touch the sugary goodies (yes!!!!) but did look at them longingly. I knew that eating them would just cause me guilt and possibly an upset tummy. That eating even one would not help me get back to my goal weight but would cause me to, mentally, beat myself uppossibly toss me out of ketosis which would make my life miserable, LOL. So, it wasn't all that hard to decide to steer clear of them. This morning, I am thankful that I held firm and had all those mental talks with myself..

This morning I'm up .5 (I drank quite a bit of water in the late evening as I had gotten lax about getting my water drank since our last challenge). These challenges are good for me, it pushes me to get that water drank. I really dislike drinking 8 (or more) glasses of water per day..

Today I've promised myself to get a tree up and decorated! All the gifts are purchased and wrapped, so that chore is done. I love Christmas decorations, but this year our house is so topsy turvy with another family living with usI just haven't been in the decorating mood. Our daughter and her children have a tree & decorations upstairs (along with a train circling the base of the tree), so that also helped me keep the guilt at bay (they see their decorations so why does Grandma need them downstairs? LOL). But, I need to do this for DH....poor guy isn't getting to see one bit of commercial holiday cheer in our house (he doesn't go upstairs very often)..

Anyway, I've been lazy this morning so far, still lounging around in my pajamas and having a lovely time knowing I am not expected to go anywhere or do anything for anyone. Lovely and very unusual!.

I hope everyone has a great day!..

Back again and so excited to see Laurie and Mindy back. I knew Laurie was coming even though it sounded like you wanted to waiver... only for a minute. Mindy I didn't know about but you are so close to finishing, we can push, pull, drag, hop, skip or jump with you to the end..

Amy, I'm sorry you couldn't fill a team this time, but you and any of your members are welcome to join us. The more the merrier. This is a tough time of year to get through and if we can help anyone in the slightest by just being here, then that's what we will do!.

Update on my Miss Bella, my DD's rottweiler but really mine all the time. I left her at the vet's for sedation and xrays. Maybe tore a ligament but she is so excited to see everyone that it's masking her pain. She'll do anything for a treat. She is off the daily walking, so I'm going to have to go it alone. That will just feel so weird after 2 1/2 years of walking 4 miles almost every day but I see it on the scale if I miss a day or two.

People won't recognize me without the dog..

Good morning Talien and Kori! Let's rock this challenge! I know I missed a few others, so sorry but today is a techno day and I have to keep pace..

Let's have an OPOWOE day today!..

Rough night, DD has three teeth coming in at once, she started teething late at about 14 months and now they all want to come in at once, she was a trooper for the bottom two but the new top one is making my happy baby a cranky drooling non-sleeping at night baby. She just couldnt settle into a consistent sleep so neither could I, she also had 3 vacc shots yesterday so she is not too happy with me right now. Only one more day of work until 2010, trying to stay motivated to work but I am sinking fast. I hope everyone is having a good OP day so far..

Morning Dream Team, sorry I did not get to do a real intro yesterday..

My name is Alina, I recently married DH in August at a weight of 207.6. The exact weight he had met me at 3 years prior, but only after I had managed to balloon up to 235 during our first year of dating/my first year of law school. This was all done with serious workouts at the gym, no alcohol, eating out, or takeout. I did not know you could gain 28 lbs due to stress in such a short period of time.

I began THIS weightloss journey at 235 in November 2007 and did WW until about May 2008, having lost the 28 lbs I gained. My goal was to maintain through the summer as I was studying for 2 bar exams and finishing wedding planning. I currently work as a lawyer and DH is an engineering project manager and we have no DC. I jumped aboard the Medifast wagon on September 30th and did great month 1, totally awful month 2, and semi jumped back aboard in month 3. This past week has been a success and I am back 100% now for challenge and pumped about it! I am already down 1.8 since yesterday haha!.

Looking forward to meeting you all!..

Hi Dreamers -.

Went for a walk on the beach this morning...it was great! I don't get out enough back home because of the cold weather, so it was really nice today. Not sure what we are doing for the rest of the day, no plans yet..

I was very frustrated with my weigh in for the challenge because I was up six pounds...yikes. Almost backed out of the challenge because of my vacation, but then I saw some pics of myself. My first few days on vacation obviously weren't great eating days, but I'm back on track..

Elaine and Blanca, I get those throw in the towel moments too. I feel like I have had this weight on for so long, I can't remember what it is like to be thin..

I hope everyone has a great day!..

Good aftermorn all! What a great new group we have for this challenge! Stay positive. It is rough but take a good hard look at our successes in this group a lone and you can't help but me inspired..

Pepi, glad you made it home to Atlanta safely and are enjoying being in your own house, your own bed. Thanks for being such a great cheerleader. Smooches back at ya..

Elaine, it probably was a good decision to avoid the party when you are that hungry. There are some snacks you can try to tide you over, like a dill pickle spear or sugarless popsicle. Be sure to make every meal last 15 minutes. Even the bars and be broken in small chunks. Take three different kinds and cut them in eighths or more. Then mix and match them back into three bags and let the variety slow down your eating.

If you are really starving, have an extra shake. It's balanced and only 100 calories. You will still be within range for the day and it's certainly preferable than grabbing a bag of chips or other temptations..

Blanca, well put. The challenges are for accountability and that extra help to keep you focused on the healthy you..

Pam, boy is that an early conference call. Don't envy you having to put your thinking cap on at 7..

KP, you poor girl and your baby of course. Luckily it passes pretty quickly once those teeth break through but it is misery in the meantime. Hope you can get some sleep or at least rest every now and then. We have a few midwesterners on here, but not sure if anyone is actually in Chicago. Never hurts to ask..

Alina, congrats on passing the bar and your decision to get healthy now. That was a lot of stress and we often turn to food to help us through it. This journey teaches us to think of food differently for nutrition instead of for pleasure. But I still have those of sugarplums dancing in my head, I just try to leave them in my head and out of my mouth..

So glad you have joined us..

Billie, I'm glad you decided to do the challenge after all. I firmly believe in 100% OP, but if being part of the challenge stops you from a complete fall, then that is what we have to do..

Bella's walking days are done for at least a couple of weeks. She may have a tear in her knee. Fluid is building up, so we are going the conservative route with anti-inflammatories and no exercise for a while. Hard to keep a big dog down. I went on my first walk alone yesterday and walked much faster than usual. It's different but my ipod keeps me company for now..

Loooong post, but had to catch up some. BBL..

Hi Dreamers:.

Boy three days until Christmas cant wait! Im such a big kid at heart. Welcome new folks (Kori, Amy, Alina)..

KP Im in Milwaukee and we have snow coming our way this week. Accumulations dont look that bad 2-4 tops. Thats a drop in the bucket in these parts. Its snowing here now, but nothing is sticking on the roads. It doesnt sounds like blizzard conditions so hopefully it wont affect air travel..

Temptations will abound on Christmas. I gotta get myself psyched for Christmas and staying OP. With that I have to do some planning and positive thinking and talking to myself. Im going to my in-laws in Green Bay and theyll have.

Of food. I know theyll have stuff I can eat (i.e. nicer cuts of beef, boiled seafood), but veggies not such much. Im bringing a nice green salad to share. Knowing my husbands family Ill probably be eating that salad alone. They're the starch and protein type of family..

My Green Bay BIL/SIL are party people, which is fine. They love to eat out and drink (and it shows theyre both chunky monkeys).

However, whats annoying about them is that they cant understand if you dont want to drink. Ive never been a beer drinker so right then in there Im an oddball in my husbands family. LOL!!.

Also, my Green Bay BIL and SIL have not seen me in a long time, definitely before starting MF, so unless my MIL and other SIL (DH sister) told them, they dont know that Ive lost this weight. What they say will be interesting..

Well, enough of my wacky in-law stories. Hope to check in again before I head up nort for the holiday...

Dee, I wouldn't be surprised if we all don't have inlaws or families who are high carb folks. It helps to be in SoCal with family in the midwest and east..

The Santa Ana winds are insane today. We lost cable, phone and internet for a while. Also have a 10 x 12 aluminum gazebo in our pool. DH will be back after shopping, he's off until Monday, so it will have to stay there. I can't manage it alone. Might take more than 2 of us.

So, my connection may be spotty, but I'll try to keep up. Anyone who is lurking, have a great Holiday, whether you celebrate Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanza or any other occasion this year end. Post when you can and ask for help when you need it. Enough of us will be around to nudge you through another day...

Evening Dreamers,.

It sounds like there are all kinds of challenges coming up for everyone..

Elaine, this is a good spot to vent and whine, we're here to lend an ear. I certainly do my share of venting and whining..

Pepi, glad you made it home. I hope you are sitting by the fire reading books on Kindle tonight. I tend to drink a bit of herbal tea when I want a cosy evening. I used to drink a glass of wine or two, not these days..

Alina, welcome and congrats on the bar exam. Wow! I spent three years totally focused on school and work while I was getting my MBA. I totally ignored myself, and it took another year and a half to start thinking about about doing something about my weight..

Dee, sounds like family gatherings are never dull around your house. I am the anomally in my family, I don't drink beer either. If I want to drink, I have to bring my own because all they have is beer. Of course, that is not a problem right now..

Chick, sorry about Bella. My bigger dog spent 2-3 months earlier this year on limited exercise because he was limping so bad. The vet said he had to lose 20 lbs, hard to do when he was not getting any exercise. A strict diet enabled him to lose weight, then he started feeling better, now my 10 year old dog bounces around like a puppy..

Speaking of the pups, they are both trying to climb on my lap (now that I actually have one!). They want dinner..

Bye for now...

Hi Dreamers -.

Chick - I'm glad I'm doing the challenge too. Thanks for the support. Next Monday will have to be the one weigh in I miss because I will be traveling, and will not have a scale available to me. I hope that is ok..

I hope everyone had a great day!..

Good evening everyone! Love seeing all the new Dreamers!!.

I am ready for this challenge - need the accountability..

Just finished a 2-mile walk. Wanted to get it done before dark - beautiful day today, mid-50's. BUT tomorrow winds and light rain, possibly changing to light snow..

All I have left is making a grocery list and grocery shopping..

Everyone stay safe!.

Evening check in..

Pam, I wish it was simply a matter of losing weight for Bella, but she is not overweight. She is all muscle. Now I have seen fat rotties that's for sure, but people really admire how she looks. Her injury is like a torn meniscus. People usually get injured from the bending, where dogs get injured from the straightening. Happens when they step in holes or on hills or sliding on the tile floor (Bella's probable case).

I'm seriously thinking of getting a huge area rug for the family room to counteract the tile sliding..

Billie, I leave the door open in case something changes but thanks for letting me know..

Kathy, lucky you, you're all done. I still have some grocery shopping to finish too. Our stores are open pretty late so we get a little break..

Off to see how the other teams are shaping up. We probably won't have any stats until after Christmas to know who all is in, starting weights, etc. Keep working hard, you're worth it...

Evening dreamers, caught up on the chatter, Chick you always know what to say, I have been somewhat depressed the past few days had some BLTs on Sunday and Monday, today so far so good but still bummed. I lose weight slower than a slug runs and it just get me so down. I had to do a mental drop kick to the scale. 2 lbs of my 3 lbs lost were back on when I weighed in Sunday. This is very discouraging, I have had a 1 lb a week loss for the past 3 weeks, and I am feeling so sick of the fat. Wish I could just saw it off.

I am making Christmas dinner so mine will be all OP and I will eat that. I will also roast a big pan of vegys. Of course there has to be off plan foods but I can avoid that since I will be playing hostess..

In Minnesota the forecast is "Christmas Blizzard- Most snow forcasted since they began taking records". This is supposed to start Wed evening last all Thursday and Friday and end sometime Sat AM. If the forecast holds up it will not be nice (put nicely) I will either be putting up family for the night or nights or we will have to postpone the Christmas party till Saturday. Hopefully, this storm does not come to be. Weather people can be wrong.

Kathy, I did finish my shopping, just the groceries also, and since there may well be a storm I am going out this evening to do that..

Well I will get going to get the shopping done..... Sorry I am complaining but I cannot genuinely say that I am all happy when it's not true. I hold out the hope that I will do better, stay OP, exercise and lose more weight. I know it is in my control..

Take care dreamers..

Denyse, we were posting at the same time. I honestly know how discouraging it is to steer the course and the magic still disappears. I personally know the pain of putting on a pound or two when I had just worked so hard to take it off. Sometimes it feels like one step forward, and two back. but it really is the other way around. It is two forward, and one back, which means you are still moving forward.

It is not always staring us in the face. You have so many positives surrounding you, you don't realize that people actually envy you. Great kids, independence, strength, determination, a place to call home. Have a great cup of hot tea, snuggle with the kids, and smile at what surrounds you...

Just wanted to pop in before I went to sleep tonight. I thought I was ready for Christmas but these last couple days have been kickin my butt! Oh well, I love this time of year, just for that reason. All the hustle and bustle and all of it..

Check back in later once I have woken up..

HI Dreamers. is this the chat page? I am confused about how to get there vs. the weigh in page. Just want to say hi to everyone and wish them luck as Christmas arrives. I am doing well on week two, although I have had some moments. I am very tired, so it makes it harder to stay OP, but I have not deviated once.

Yesterday I ate my lean and green at 4:30 pm, was nervous about how I would deal with the evening, but later, just had some oatmeal and was fine. Stewarts Diet Rootbeer also helps at night if I want a little sugar hit. Lots of water and tea, also. Does herbal tea count as water? I am off to my treadmill. Hope you all are doing well and finding the strength when you need it..

Hi Dreamers - Hope all is well with everyone! Although I'm having a great time in FL, I'm constantly obsessing on the diet. I wish I could just be mellow about it..

Chick - I definitely want to stay, and I agree 100% is the way to do it. I was 100% before I left, and then I just had a couple of bad days. Going to restaurants all the time has been difficult, but I can get through it..

Denyse - I hope you are feeling better. I live in extreme weather as well, and it can be tough and depressing. As far as the 1# a week, I can relate. I had three weeks where I only lost .6 and I was perfect on plan. It will get better, just hang in there...

Good morning Dreamers! I'm still lousy with names, I do need to get myself a pad of paper and make tiny notes beside names so that I can cement them in my brain. Then I could make personal comments, too.....maybe after Christmas..

I've been dealing with a cold, fever, chills so yesterday it was easy to get down the water (hot cups of water to soothe my throat). Today is a laid back day (was suppose to babysit grandchildren but that changed with the onset of the fever). I'll finish wrapping (to help Santa) and do some housework, otherwise all is as done as it is going to be..

Hope everyone has a great day. (Denyse, don't feel down, the scale will do a drop when you least expect it - if you continue on program. I'm sorry the darn thing isn't being kind to you)...

Morning all you wonderful Dreamers! Another notch under your belt and the week is turning out nicely. It's hump day, but Friday will be the real hump for many of you. Plan, plan, plan. I can't say it enough. The excuses come easy, it's the real decisions that are harder. It can be down.

Extra meals for getting snowed in, rained on, traffic delays. I don't want anyone kicking themselves later. If you are prepared you will use it. Above all be safe on the road, in the air, or what ever transportation you might be using. Some of you are probably taking off soon, others have arrived, and still others have later plans.

It will be great to celebrate with all of you..

Denyse, I just feel like you woke up smiling today. Ready to tackle the world. A smile can carry you a long way..

Kori, all that hustle and bustle passes me by. My DH was out early to finish his shopping. Yesterday he spent 45 minutes looking for a parking space. It's $5 for the valet for all day shopping. It's worth it. Wonder if he'll take my advice today?.

Lissy, you found the right thread! Yeah! On Saturday night, I start new ones again and this time I'll get the links right. I always put a green smile on the chat thread and a green arrow on the weight thread. So if you go to Discussion Boards and down to the bottom to Connecting with Others, Ready Set, Go Challenge, look for those symbols along the left margin. then subscribe. Quick Links will take you to your subscribed threads from then on. The herbal tea and non-caloric drinks count as fluid for the program, but for the challenge, we are looking for 64 oz of plain old water, H2O.

Billie, sounds like FL is agreeing with you. I still obsess about eating healthy. It's a constant reminder of the slippery slope our bad habits put us on. There is a lot to said for 6 small meals a day and keeping your blood sugar in check. Notice all the 100 calorie junk food packages out now? Once you make goal and have a craving, if you indulge then at least eating one package is better than the giant bag. Unfortunately, the carbs and proteins aren't balanced like MF, so you still have to make good choices..

Talien, so sorry you are not feeling well. I bet you make a terrific elf helping Santa and probably cleaning up after him..

Today is grocery shopping day. I'm making a list and checking it twice, but at least I'll have one more day for all the last minute stuff I surely will forget..

Today I am cleaning house and making some choc. chip cookies then getting some containers ready for some friends and family of all the cookies Ive made this week.

Hope you all are having a great week and have a Merry Christmas..

Hello everyone - I'm at work today, so just a quick post to say hello to everyone! An extra big special welcome to all of our new team members. To those that were part of the pinups, I'm sorry you didn't have enough members for this challenge, but take heart in the fact that you've picked a team with a great group of people. I feel we are particularly fortunate to have Chick as our leader - she is a great inspiration and motivator. She also dedicates a ton of her time to our team. How awesome is it going to be to have another team captain as a team member? That's so great!.

I don't have all the names down yet and trying to post this before my boss gets back, so I don't have time to go back and look - but, wanted to comment to whoever made a post about diet root beer. I, too, find that a diet root beer helps fill me up to if I am extra hungry. I think it's the carbination, but it works for me!.

Ok, everyone have a great on plan day. You are worth it!..

It's my own darn fault...too many BLTs!!! And I have to admit that I had one this morning as well. Just a teeny bite of sugar cookie. So small I could hardly taste it. But yet, enough that I can't count today as an OP day for the challenge..

Hi Amy! Great ages for kiddos for Christmas. Old enough to give back and learn the joy of giving as well as receiving. Glad to hear all those Cookies have a home to go to..

Mindy, are you working right up to Christmas? How about the rest of you? Half day Christmas eve, or are we working down to the wire. DH is home because he had vacation days unused and had to take them or lose them. He worked Monday this week and Monday next week because you can't take a week off this time of year. Kind of silly but actually helps us a great deal..

Jessica, now you know that BLT was not worth it, was it? Put the past behind you and stay strong. There's a lot of pride in saying no. You can do it..

Pepi, let us know what you come up with for dinner. We do basically the same meal for Christmas as we do for Thanksgiving. Then New Year's is ham. A word of warning, the ham hits everyone like a ton of bricks. Instant water retention that lasts a few days. Avoid it if you can.

Clock's ticking, my list is almost ready. Amy, I bet it will be crowded and picked over. Luckily most of what I need is canned or boxed, so it's just a matter of having the shelves well stocked. Crosses fingers...

Hi All:.

Predictably a slow day at work. My supervisor just buzzed out of here for a long lunch break (probably to do last minute shopping) and it's a skeleton crew. I woke up feeling a little under the weather (dang right before Christmas!.

) so Im popping the Zicam hoping that remedy will cut the cold off at the pass. Now I just realized that TOM is visiting. (Dang double whammy for me).

My DHs cousins from Iowa are in town for the holiday and we were going to meet up with them tonight. Now Im thinking Im just going to lay low tonight..

Denyse hang in there, sister! The days are short, dark and dreary for us Midwesteners but were tough. New Year New Outlook! Good luck with your weather hope none of your guests have to travel..

Lissy way to go for staying on plan. This is challenging time of the year to start MF. Ive go to hand it to you!.

Talien hope you get well soon. No fun being sick during Christmas..

Well, time to take another Zicam. Another 1.25 hours and Im out of here. I work until 12pm tomorrow (so does DH) and then well go home, collect the kid, dogs and presents and head up to the tundra. (Thats what they call Green Bay)..

Ill drop a line tomorrow...

My BF comes in tomorrow and he is sleeping on the floor so I need to find a place for him. (The floor is as close as my parents let him get while he is here, unless we get a hotel.) LOL. It's alright though, I am just happy he is going to be here for Christmas.

Back on January 11th. Besides all the holiday stuff, I plan on going to Laughlin, NV with my mom for a few days. I just need to make sure I plan and get all my food packed up and ready to go for the road trip..

Check in with you dreamers later. Back to the cleaning......

Hi dreamers, just got back from shopping- the last- Snow storm moving in and we are being warned that there is the potential for 15-20 in of snow over the next 2 days..

Blanca- I am only speaking for myself but salt will increase water retention and weight loss will seem slower, there are salt substitutes you can try- I don't use them, I actually prefer my food without salt. at first the food seemed bland but I am able to taste so much better now, vegys have flavor and I can enjoy without anything ( I have ate salads without dressing- sometimes a dash of olive oil). This takes time and is basically retraining your taste buds. Its so much healthier not to eat added salt..

Ok just wanted to let you know I am still OP and chuggin along. I am much better emotionally after chicks pep talk last evening- Thanks again Chick...

There are few of us here at work and Im watching the clock until 12 noon when my mini-vacation will start..

Great NSV Today I dressed a tad casual to work - black sweater dress, stylish new heeled boots (I can handle heels again), gaudy Christmas jewelry, and black leggings. The handsome, young, African American gentleman who works our conference center came in the office suite to talk to the few of us and exclaimed to me, Dee, look at you! Youre looking mighty fine! The compliment took me by surprise and I blushed. My supervisor laughed, and said I looked like a poinsettia!.

I'm still battling my head cold and feeling icky. I can only breathe through my mouth, so look lovely (kidding!) on top of feeling puny. LOL Oh well, it is what it is.....

One good thing out of this cold is that I cannot smell anything, so the smells of the Christmas goodies will not tempt me. All I have to do now, is stay away from the visual temptations. I plan on staying on program today and tomorrow. All those foods aren't going to disappear from the earth...they'll be there next year, when I am at my healthy weight. If they do disappear and I never see them again....well, then I will never be tempted to over indulge..

I'm, hopefully, covering all my bases. LOL.

It's snowing!!! It's snowing!!!! We're actually going to have a white Christmas!!!!!.

Other than being very pretty, it's very dangerous. Ice underneath, blizzard conditions. Which to make matters worse, people here aren't used to this, so..... there are a lot of idiots on the road!!!! We had to cancel Christmas today with hubby's family. To dangerous to try to drive. We'll do it this weekend though.

We didn't have any problems, but.... you never know. It pays to be cautious. He's helping a neighbor get his wife unstuck now..

We'll have to go get DD and her hubby in the morning and take him to work. Their car won't do anything in this mess. Her hubby has to be to work at 7, so we're doing everything early, like 5 am. I'm sure all this beautiful stuff will be gone this weekend though, so we'll enjoy it while we can..

Here is to a Merry OP Christmas for everyone!.

Just been laying low. Not very much happy around this place. Staying OP through it all which is amazing because I would have normally ate my way through this crisis. I did not eat the cinnamon rolls that night! I turned down a 1/2 lb box of my favorite Sees candy: Scotchmallows. Gave them back so I wouldn't even have them in my house! Ate OP at a family gathering in remembrance of my dad. Just substituted and brought my own stuff.

I was very proud of myself on the way home for not straying..

I keep all you ladies in mind and do not want to disappoint! It is good to see all the encouragement on the thread. Drive safe and enjoy your white Christmas for those that have it. Reading for pleasure is something I sorely miss. I have a bunch of reading assignments for next quarter all ready, so that isn't an option even over the winter break. Hug your loved ones very tight, tell them how much they mean to you, and just take time to stop and breathe for a moment..

Will continue to be OP for the rest of the week and can't wait for the results for the team. Losing 1/2 lb a day. TOM came early. So far no massive revolt on the scale. Hope it stays that way ;~)..

Merry Christmas everyone!! We are starting to slow down, watched a movie this afternoon. One we had on dvr - A Dog Named Christmas. Can honestly say it was a good movie..

We had about 5" of snow here in Lubbock. Renee, as the storm went it, I think it intensified. We had some friends that were suppose to spend Christmas near Wichita Falls. They made it 45 minutes from Lubbock and turned around to come home. I have a great-niece that was stranded in Oklahoma City airport because of the snow..

My husband grew up in LA. He has a picture of he and his brother playing in the snow there in LA - oh, about 55 years ago. Seriously..

I must confess that I have not been OP for the past 2 days. But have had my water!! We have brunch on Christmas morning - breakfast pizza, cinnamon rolls (passed those by), chocolate dipped strawberries and Mimosas. I had some breakfast pizza, some strawberries and a Mimosa. Will have my Medifast shake before bedtime and tomorrow it is back OP totally..

For Christmas, my DD and DSIL "stole" my ipod and put several albums of walking music on it. I am itching to try them out. I am hoping the mall will start clearing by Monday night and I can start walking again. One is an interval walk by Chris Freytag and the other is the music from Mama Mia (with a beat). Also received several gift cards - everyone told me to go buy new clothes..

Take care!.

Morning Dreamers,.

It sounds like most are staying strong over the holidays so far. I had little choice at my brothers, lots of ham, chips and cheese dip, little sausages, and chocolate chip cheesecake.

I took the precaution of eating before I went and just had a couple of cheddar cheese squares - no crackers or salami. Mostly I just visited with the family, and took in all the compliments. I have not seen any of them since before MF. My brother says he wants to go on Medifast to lose the 40+ excess pounds he is carrying around..

Yesterday was at my aunt and uncles, aunt is also dieting, so lots of OP food for the lean and green. My sisters did not get in until late yesterday, so DD and I will go down and see them today at my dad's once DD gets here and we get her dog settled. I have not seen my sisters since before Medifast either. One of them is the one who had the lapband a couple of years ago, it will be interesting to see how she is doing. It seems to be taking her forever to lose the 100 lbs she set out to lose. I'm taking salad again, my dad does lots of Italian cooking, nothing OP..

Chick, hope you had a good holiday. Thanks for being such a good cheerleader for everyone..

Renee, it's fun to have a little snow every now and then. Just watch that ice, even in a four wheel drive. Tell DH to be extra careful and watch out for all the other people. We get just a dusting here on occasion. My ex in Minneapolis said there were expecting about 20 inches. He is stressing that the person he hired for snow removal while his shoulder is injured is not there first thing in the morning to clear the drive and sidewalk..

Blanca, sounds like you are set up for success. Have fun visiting the family..

Talien - sounds like you are doing great..

Pepi, continue to enjoy a peaceful, mellow season..

Patricia - good going on the WL..

Have a good day to everyone else, I can't remember all the names without taking notes...

Having a nice quiet day at home with the boys and dogs. Had a nice visit in Green Bay with the family. I am very glad I brought a salad, because predictably there was hardly a veggie to be found in that house. I strayed off of plan, but not too bad. If anything I probably had too much protein. I did have a Christmas cookie or two.

Just wanted to check in - I'll catch up and do personals soon...

Hey Dreamers!.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I stayed OP and struggled through the temptations. I tried to stay out of the kitchen but even when I went in to make my famous cornbread, I still didn't stray, even though I really wanted to have some cornbread and Dirty Rice..

Keep it up Dreamers!.

Challenge weigh in tomorrow and Monday!..

Good Morning Dreamers,.

I'm the first one on this morning? That's funny, because the pups and I stayed in bed for a couple of hours reading. Just having a shake and doing this post. I am going to try to step it up a notch for this challenge. I need to if I want to get very close to goal by my birthday in April. I think I have fallen victim to one of the pitfalls of weightloss, I am so happy with my weightloss so far, that I have started getting a bit complacent. No BLT's, just a glass of wine, or two.

I bought the next size down pants, 14's, as an incentive. I carry most of my weight around my middle, so my pants fit my waist but are baggy everywhere else. I'm going to make sure I get core exercises in as well as the cardio (walking) I currently do..

I'm not really anticipating many temptations this holiday season. Christmas Eve at my brother's will be the biggest challenge because they don't serve diet friendly foods, usually ham, baked beans, potato salad, and lots of deserts. I plan to take a big salad and some baked chicken breast so I have food I can eat. Christmas day at my dad's with my sisters and their families, and then down to my aunt and uncles should not be much of a problem, I will just take bars along and get a L&G at my uncles. I don't face the usual treats at work challenge, many of my customers offer goodies, but I always refuse, not a good idea to socialize with them in my job..

Gotta go get laundry started and do more unpacking/organizing. Hope everyone has a good OP day, let's rock this challenge and defend our crown..

Bye for now...
