It is hard to believe that Summer has come to a close and September is here. As I have taken the weight off, I found that I enjoyed this summer so much more... I didn't feel left out, or say the same thing, "next year"..

"BOB" is still up from 189.9 to 190.6... Big poop that he is, but I know I loose for couple of days then tapper off, sometimes go up a bit then start back down. It's the weekly weight I look at, but the daily that keep me in CHECK... Enjoy September Ladies...

Hi I'm Stephanie I am a secret daily weigher. I am on week two of Medifast and like it so far. I don't have a name for my scale but I guess I will call it "trixter". My weigh in was yesterday for week one and I was down 11lbs even with a visit from TOM.. I weighed this morning and Im up 2lbs. I was completely on plan yesterday and drank all my water.

Oh well, alittle discouraging but hey I have a week to get it off and see the scale move down by next week...

Hi everyone. If you don't mind I'd like to join your group. My name is Marie and I am a daily weigher also (sometimes more). That's funny, I've never thought about a name for my scale. I'll have to think of a good one..

My official start date was July 12th and I'm down 30 so I'm pretty happy with that. I am going on our annual camping trip (tomorrow a.m.) with the family for the weekend so it will be tough but I can do it, I think. I've already got my 20 meals packed and we are taking our bikes so that will be good exercise..

I've been lurking on the boards and have seen your name quite a bit Stephanie, that's good news that you were able to lose even TOM was visiting. I always have a problem with gaining at that time but so far so good..

Looking forward to hearing all your stories and getting to know the Daily Weighers...

My week is off to a slow (negative) start - but I'm starting to wonder if I"m pre-TOM. I'm not regular, so it is almost always a surprise..

Long time no see! I hope everyone is doing well. It was my first week back to school and my class is great but exhausting (the first week always is). I got another friend and fellow teacher to join Medifast (she lost 4 pounds the first day and is hooked) and another is thinking about it. That'll be great!.

I have been OP this week but am really upset. I weigh-in tomorrow and I am only down .2 from last week. It's been 2 months since I started and I NEVER lost less than 2 pounds a week. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. It's not TOM and I'm not eating junk. I am drinking tons of water because it is like 9 million degrees in the classroom.

Tonight I brought out all of my papers again to start the new week- new graph, new journal paper, etc. I'm hoping it's a very short pause in my journey..

BodyCombat sounds like it hurts! Good for you!.

Stephanie & Marie-.

Welcome- you'll love it here!.

Good morning everyone,.

I finally saw the scale move this morning, WL has me down a pound today. My what, 5 days of fluctuation with gains was explained when I finally saw TOM yesterday afternoon. I'm not regular, so it is almost always a surprise. Good to know that the scale may tell me when he is about to visit! LOL Now I"m ready to get back into the business of dropping serious weight! Wait, I already am - am now 25 pounds down from the start 5.5 weeks ago. Nice!.

Erinn - congrats on losing that 2 pounds! Now we can both move on and down :-) It is a good feeling to get back on track..

Lisa - hang in there! Lots of things can cause a temporary pause.. including just your body needing to readjust a little (think of it as the fat fighting to push their fellow fats to the "front" to get lost next.. little suckers have no honor and they'll happily throw their brothers and sisters in front of the Medifast bus). School starting has to have messed with your schedule, with your stress level, with your activity level, etc.. Just keep on keeping on :-) Good luck on your official weigh-in (today?).

Maridele - woot woot! Congratulations on moving that ticker. That is an amazing amount of weight you've lost so far.. you should be very proud of yourself :-).

Kelly - welcome to the DW thread, and I love your scale's name.. I call mine WL, which is short for "Wide Load" - that name is both because I replaced my scale and the new one is significantly WIDER than the old one (didn't realize it when I bought it) and also to remind me why I"m staying OP every day.. to reduce my own wide load ;-) Congrats on your progress so far, and I'll look forward to seeing your updates..

Now I"m on the run - more nursing lectures today. This one on patient safety! Just gonna grab my morning shake and hit the road..

Cheers to all!..

It truly makes it worth it, I did go for a jog last night and I jogged and walked for a half an hour I was really proud that was the first time since I got out of the army that I jogged any whats so ever.

My husband called me last night so that made my day 3 years ago and I told him I am kicking butt and loosing this weight he replied you better be careful out there jogging real concerned like, I was thinking to my self why is that so I asked and he replied those pounds are going to be falling off and making the ground slick where ever you run so don't slip and fall.. Good morning DWers,.

I got to sleep as much as I wanted today (oh the joy of a Saturday with NOTHING scheduled until 5pm). I got about 10 hours of much needed sleep, and of course the longer I sleep the more weight I drop overnight, LOL. I think that may be why I gain every Monday.. less sleep on Sunday night..

Anyway, WL has me down a whopping 1.8 pounds today (bye bye water weight I gained pre-TOM). This also catapults me past the 10% lost of my original weight mark. Sweeeet! No wonder my knees are happier!.

Welcome back Eileen :-).

Happy Birthday, fgrforever! Welcome to the group (and yikes on your PE)..

Good morning DWers,.

I'm loving the combination of a long weekend that is allowing me to sleep until past 10am (stretch) and finishing up TOM because the weight is just falling off me this weekend. Down another full pounds today (Thank you WL). I know that it will bounce back up on whichever day I don't get to sleep in on (tomorrow or Monday, depends on how much homework I get done today) but that's okay too - because the trend is down..

You may remember I've posted about the other location I watch my weight on.. The last week where my weight jumped up a bunch and stayed up is a good example of why I chart there. If I just looked at the numbers when I was "up a pound, only down 0.2, okay up again.." it would be pretty depressing (especially since I was pre-TOM and everything was emotional) but looking at the general trending REALLY helps. Here is my chart from the last 30 days again if you are interested, and it shows my downward trend even on those days where I was up, up, up...

I also looked back over my entire history of charting there.. all the way back to more than 4 years ago. My lowest weight in that entire 4 years was 227.5.. I"m going to bust past that this month. How cool is that!? :-D.

JeriAnn - love the scratch and dent suggestion.. my clothing washer is about to die, I may have to go take a look at our local Lowes!.

Maridele - how funny that your kitty leaves crunchies under the scale! Mine only eats the "big" pieces of crunchy food.. but as soon as she bites them (and eats half) the rest is now "small" and she scatters it all OVER the place. The dog doesn't mind though!.

Have a great day everyone,..

Down 0.8 today! Thank goodness. I think part of the reason my weight loss is slow is because I don't get enough sleep. I worked night shift last night and will again tonight. But the nice thing about it is that I got a lot of rest today and it shows with my weight being down by such a large jump!.

Morning all. Not sure what my weight is, know it's up, haven't gotten in all the water, have been off plan and am sore as all get out from the pool, spent 3 hours there and although I technically was lounging, I was actually still using muscles... Practiced my bodycombat moves since the water helped me balance etc. It was overcast so only a small handful even showed up. The lifeguards didn't even call their breaks since part of the time there were more lifeguards than people (there were 3 lifeguards and only 2 of us for the first hour). I do know that Boots is 11 lbs, he wouldn't let me get on alone this am so I finally gave up and got off, he stayed on.....

Well hello everyone,.

LONG TIME no see.

I thought I was gonna restart this wonderful Medifast plan weeks ago and I failed miserably! I don't know why it is so hard to restart again for me. I followed the plan to the letter for 7 months and was rewarded with a 75 pound weight loss (OH YEA). Anyway, here I am, 4 months after I hit my goal. I was counting the calories but not eating any Medifast and I am up 13 pounds! I am totally bummed about it! Its actually only 8 pounds past my goal but it's too much..

I am trying to start today, 100% on plan and hope I can stay focused! Summer is over and I am looking forward to doing this. I think all that fresh fruit that comes along with summer did me in. Now that's all over, I think I can focus again..

Well enough rambling and good luck to everyone, I know I need it..

WF - YES! We all find our weight varies day to day (and don't even think about multiple weights in a day.. that way leads to insanity).. I also chart my weight at physicsdiet.com because it helps me take it in stride. Here is a link to my last 30 days and you can clearly see the plot points (with the little > marks at the bottom of the green area) vary up and down from day to day.. especially the last few weeks as my initial water weight loss leveled out and I"ve gotten down to the business of getting rid of fat..

That's why our logo (in my signature area) says it is a love/hate relationship.

Many of us name our scales, too.. we have such a relationship with them. Mine is WL (Wide Load)...

~ Welcome Back, although, I'm sure you'd prefer not to be. We'll do our best to support you and motivate you. I have a long time ago, accepted the fact that weight loss/maintaining would be a lifetime battle for me. To some people, it comes easy, to others, we have to fight it daily. I'm just trying to change my mindset to see it more as a way of life vs. a battle.

~ Thank you for sharing your physicsdiet link with me. I appreciate it. I will start a chart as well. You have no idea how you made me laugh the name for your scale. LOL! I love it!.

~ Nothing wrong with being lazy on a long weekend. Both hubby and I are being lazy as well. All I will manage to do today is a few loads of laundry. That's it!.

And yes, our body can be mean at times...playing tricks! I know a lot of people tell me to not weigh myself daily because it can drive one crazy....well I rather be crazy then, because I absolutely HAVE to step on the scale first thing in the morning! So be it, I'm steppin'!.

Dang, lots of reading to catch up on since I last posted. This is Marie and I'm the one that was out for 4 days on a camping trip. I am happy to report that I lost 4 lbs on vacation!!!!!! We rode our bikes quite a bit which got me to want to start exercising..

- congratulations on your real, real, close 100 lb loss!.

- I think I will start jogging too, well, do what some people call a wog, that's walk, jog, walk, jog until I build up to a full jog. Let me know how you're doing with that..

- happy belated 81st bday!..

Yay, it worked. Gotta show credit for every little oz.

Oh, and I decided to name my scale "Rocky". I love the song to the Rocky movie, makes me just want to get out and exercise, besides some of the lyrics say "getting strong now" and it reminded me of my username so Rocky it is..

Morning all: Yesterday sucked at worked.. well it started bad, but with a lot of faith it got better. I am hoping for this week to go by quickly. I look forward to the weekends more and more lately. I am finding that I am having more and more energy lately, and that is a good thing. For some reason the first 4 weeks I just felt drained.

No more jittery or shakey feelings.. Yeah....

"BOB" is creeping down... another 0.1lbs.. so that's 188.1 to an even 188.0. It's going down so that's good. I just like the bigger jumps down....

Smartmomma: Your back on track now...It will come back down....

: I think most of us go throught that....

The good part is you are back on track..

My motto is what goes up must go down...

You are going to do great..

: Great job.. dropping 4 lbs on vacation... Whoo hoo..

Makes me wish I could go somewhere I could hike, bike,.

And walk all week...sigh..Summer is gone.. Anyway great.

Job and It sounds like you had fun..

: don't worry.. Hope the day goes by quick for you.. and a good.

Night sleep for tonight..

: I hope you have a good day in clinicals. I am in the medical.

Good morning all,.

My hubby has been working stupid hours at work so he has been getting up at 2am and leaving at 3:30. So I have been tossing and turning from 3:30-5:30 when I finally get up. I am a wreck. But I can't complain because he is getting up and going to work and I still get to lounge around for 2 more hours before Alison wakes up. I just don't know how he does it. I feel like a freakin zombie. Good new is- I am almost back at my pre- slip up weight! Down 1.2 from yesterday 208.8 Yippie! Hope you all have a great day, drink lots of water and stay OP!..

Hello all!.

Back from the work trip to Pittsburgh. Lost 2 lbs while away for 10 days and then gained 4 over the Labor Day weekend. Back at it with a 0.8 lb loss today. I'll take it. I've been up and down the same weight all summer that I think my body has redistributed the weightkinda of like T&M, I imagine. Anyway, I don't like where it is settlingaround gut/hip/thighs.

Just stick with the program. I haven't done it since summer started, so now is the time to finally get to GOAL..

Have a great day!.

Sticking with the program. Same weight today. I am very tired lately because i've been working too much. 3 -12hr days then usually 2 -8hr break shift days. I need to get my sleep and water in. Was thinking about switching to the 4 & 2 because of the amount of excercise i'm working up to.

I remember those days....ahhh clinical...so much less responsibility. Enjoy it while you can!.

Welcome back! Glad to see you are losing now that you are back. 0.8 is a great way to start back huh!.

Good job, your ticker is encouraging!.

Don't get discouraged. Try to get to bed later maybe? So that you are tired and can sleep when he leaves?.

Thanks for the encouragement!.

I need it right now. I just feel like the scale doesn't move then all of a sudden drops a couple of pounds. What part of the medical field are you in?..

Morning all. Still up, wondering now if some of it is exercise related again, also think I will try to reset the scale tonight... I do the 4/2 now because of exercise. Plus I was always so hungry on the 5/1 and with the amount of weight I have to lose I needed to be able to stick to it...which is why I'm frustrated that I keep self sabotaging now......

Good Afternoon Everyone,.

It has been much too long since I last updated. I would first like to announce that I have been smoke-free for 5 weeks now! Also, I am now up almost 10lbs since quitting..

Now that I got the smoking part under control, I decided to come back on Medifast for the next 10 weeks and remain 100% OP. My goal is to lose 27lbs by November 19th, and I know that is a very realistic goal while on MF. It would only be 2.7lbs per week..

It seems like everyone is doing great, and.

- I really understand where you are coming from. My scale is all over the place anymore!.

- I am so jealous that you got to go to Pittsburgh for work, that's my hometown! Great job on getting the scale back down! I hope to be following you shortly..

Thank you for all the nice welcome messages ladies! You gals rock!.

Your post always make me laugh. They are so lively! And I just finally figured out that you named your scale "What?!?". LOL! I genuinely thought you just made it a point to start ALL your posts with "WHAT?!?" and then it dawned on me...DUH! I love the name! Very original! Hope all is well with you!.

Could you be any more adorable? Love your hair! Back to topic: At one point or another, I think all of us have fallen off the wagon when it comes to dieting. It's such a hard battle at times! Heck, in my case, it's a hard battle all the time, but I have learned to accept it. Don't be too hard on yourself. There's a saying that goes: "Fall seven times, get up eight." So you get up and get right back on track. We are all here to support you..

Camping trip! Yay! Sounds like you guys had fun! I'm just a tad envious.

I love camping but I can't remember the last time I actually went? I was probably in my high school years maybe? What memories! Thanks for sharing. And two thumbs up on losing 4 lbs! Wooohooo! Great choice of name for your scale: Rocky! I like it!.

I'm from Pittsburgh.

Maybe next time you're in town we could meet for lunch?.

As for me, I'm doing well-just extremely busy at work. I finally picked a name for my scale. I decided to name it: BAM. I have a digital scale, and from the time I step on, to when the numbers display is 3 secs. And so, I count to 3 and then say BAM! So I'm just going to call it BAM.

So, I'm happy to report that BAM had me down to 180.8 this morning! Yay!..

Hopefully the ticker will keep moving for you like that! That is awesome. And Im sure a great motivation to stick with it! Congrats!.

Nice to see you back!! Sorry your weight is fluctuating like that. Im sure it has a lot to do with your new business and the stress it has brought! Hope things get moving for you again!.

Congrats on getting through day two. Hope tomorrow goes as smoothly! I am so with you on this. I have been having too much cheese. Ive got to get back to strict again!.

Congrats on 5 weeks! So glad that you are back on Medifast as of tomorrow! I am so with you about sticking to plan and getting rid of this weight by the holidays! You will be stunning for your family!.

Morning DWers!.

Thank goodness for a later lecture this morning. I was up until 2am doing paperwork/homework - but I got to sleep until almost 8 so I feel great today and WL showed it with a full pound loss this morning. (That brings me to my mini-goal of 230.0!). Exam went pretty well yesterday, and I got an 85.7% - not bad, class average was 79% so I didn't blow it away but I did keep the average up a little)..

JeriAnn - How interesting to hear about your experiences working in Trauma / Respiratory and in Admin now. Also - congrats on being friends with BOB right now!.

MommyMel - glad you are back on track.. we can do this! Just one day, even one meal at a time. :-).

Susan - Congrats on your OP day. Have a great day today too!.

Amy - Wow! I know quitting smoking is hard, and CONGRATS on making it 5 weeks and being ready to restart MF. You are my hero today!.

WF - Love your scale's name! You've made me laugh (again) :-D Congrats on hitting 180.0.. those round numbers are pretty cool actually (in my silly sleep deprived mind anyway)..

Polarbecca -thanks for the good wishes for the exam, they must have helped! Have a great day..

Maridele - I hear you on the stress.. I can normally avoid feeling too much, but when I get into the mega stress mode (usually related to lack of money while I"m not working for school) I have real issues! Have you tried taking just a few minutes before bed to do some breathing exercises and meditation-type relaxation? Also - possible that you are close to TOM? That week prior is always awful for me and water retention..

Have a great day everyone!..

However, I opted to hit the cafeteria for a salad. A much better choice! Hopefully I rewarded for it tomorrow. I'm down another 2 lbs today so I think that takes care of the weight I gained over Labor Day weekend. Now to get the rest of the summer weight off.

LOL I hope everyone has a great night and I WILL be back tomorrow!.

Why is it on a work day you could sleep in forever and on your day off, one is up at the crack of dawn...hmmm.

" BOB" is on a run.... 185.7 down from 186.6.... I am waiting for him to do the up thing... It seems like I drop for a couple of days in a row, hit a low, go up a bit, and do the same thing all over again... It's okay though it's the overall week to week weight that I count. WL loves sleeping in too, and I'm down 0.8 this morning for an even 30 pound loss (really 28.8 because of the scale change - but that is too unwieldy to mention all the time - I'm just going with what is on the scale and leaving it at that for easy conversation)..

I'm now only a couple pounds away from my low weight since I started tracking back in 2006. That low was in 2007 at 227.5. So gonna blow that away this month!.
